Are Bigger Moves On The Horizon For The Charlotte Hornets?
Was I dumb for not bringing my camera with me on a work trip during free agency? Maybe. But I’m sorry that like there’s no technical video. It’s just going to be me yapping. I’ll keep it short because I know y’all don’t want to see like a blank screen of just me yapping. But since I’ve been gone, the Hornets have signed uh Mason Plumbley, which we’ll talk about, of course, and then also they just signed Spencer Denwitty. And I don’t know. I think something’s on the horizon with with Mason Plumbley. I’ll say this. I didn’t think he was going to be I thought it was definitely going to be him being like a rotational big. I don’t expect him to start or anything like that. I believe they signed him to like a vet men. So, nothing crazy. I just feel like that is what they they brought him to kind of do a lot of the things that Grant was doing offensively. uh being able to rebound, uh carry the ball up court, transition, playmake a little bit, definitely from the low post, like things like that. That that’s kind of what I expected them. Uh ball dribble handoffs, things like that. Things like that that Grant was able to do. Unfortunately, you know, Mason Plumbley can’t shoot the way Grant can. So, I think I think that’s just really it that they needed someone to be able to do that, especially at the beginning of the season because we don’t know when Grant will come back. Mason Plumbley, perfect fit, cheap, been on the team before. I mean, we had a good offense with him. Uh because I think he does a lot of good things offensively. It’s just the defense and then literally everything else. But offensively, when it comes to just the knowledge of the game and his ability to pass and things like that, I I think that’s just the biggest part about Mason Plumbley that will be beneficial to this team. So, I really wouldn’t worry about that too much. I know our center room looks ugly, but I think a solid wing, a really good defensive solid wing would help me feel better about the center position, which talking about a very good solid wing with the Hornet signing Spencer Denwitty. Oh, and they resigned Trey Man. I forgot to even mention that, but I’m happy about that, of course. But with the Hornets signing Spencer Denwiny uh and Trey man and now they have Colin Ston uh you got Cion James who I guess would maybe be on the two-way. LaMelo of course a Kona nipple can handle Brandon Miller can handle handle Liam McNeely can handle all these basically all these ball handlers and I’m missing some of course somebody has to go. Um, I don’t know if it’ll be Colin Ston simply just because of the fact that with the new CBA, and forgive me, I’m still trying to learn like all this CBA stuff. But with the new CBA, I don’t think you can trade a player after you can’t aggregate a player in a trade after you just traded for them. So, basically, if the Hornets were were want to get um I I don’t know, Nick Claxton, they couldn’t put together. Let’s let’s do Zion. Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z only because he gets paid a lot more. The Hornets couldn’t necessarily put Colin Ston, uh Josh Green, and some picks together and then trade for Zion. I’m not saying that’s the package. I just know off the top of my head like that’s the money that kind of makes sense, but obviously that wouldn’t be like the value that the Pelicans would want. But anyway, Hornets couldn’t do that because Colin Saxton can’t be involved in a trade uh that you know the outgoing is him and another player. He can do it by himself. So, I guess that in the thing is the salaries will still have the match, but he can go out by himself. And with with that, I don’t foresee the Hornets necessarily trading him because it just it it just wouldn’t make sense. There’s too many, you know, hurdles to jump to get that trade to happen. Um, and I actually like Colin Seek and he fits a lot of what we’re trying to do. So, once again, that’s why I feel like Colin Saxon is probably here to stay. Um, so then I mean I don’t know. I don’t know. You look at Miles Bridges possibly getting moved things. Uh, who else? Josh Green, of course, Josh Kogi. Um, Dcoin Jeff who’s still on the books. A Nixon Jr. who’s still in the books. Um, and and a player I’m thinking about that they could trade for is like a Jared Allen. Uh, with with Jared Allen, the idea would be, you know, they move off Jared Allen. I believe he gets paid 20 million and he has like an extension for like I think it jumps up to 28 million next year but with his money this year 20 million they would have to match. I can’t I mean I think we could do I think we could find a way to match off the top of my head and make it but but you have to get it like really close because the Cavs are above the second apron. So the way you have to make the trade it has to be almost identical. So like every penny these players make in this new CBA it matters. it matters for uh trades. So, the Jerry Allen one kind of gets fishy as well, but I I think it’s somebody. I I really don’t have an idea of who it could be because as I mentioned, if they get a really good defensive wing and I almost don’t even care if they could shoot than I have an idea like it it would make me feel much better about the center position as I mentioned earlier. So, I don’t necessarily think they would go they would they don’t have to feel like they should go for a center at least. So, I really don’t even know where to start potential players. Now, you could also say they they could cut some of these guys and just call it a day, which is very very possible. Um, but I don’t know. I just feel like they’re gearing up for something. They have a lot of picks. I mean, now’s the time to to see what you can do. If you really really really want to see what you can do, then this is the time to do it. Um, it gives, you know, I think that all the players we have, you know, LaMelo is still able to do his thing while being able to rely on the other guys. And I think that’s very important. If LaMelo misses time, and as I mentioned before, whether that’s foul trouble, injury, uh, what’s it called? Rest. We have a lot of guys that can just point guard by committee and and it would work. And everybody else shouldn’t like miss out just because LaMelo’s not playing. uh because you know our recent backup point guards were just so bad. So I think in in this system even if LaMelo was to miss anytime no matter what the reason is I think it still allows us to kind of keep things afloat. I will say you know you you make these trades. I I think now is the best time to I don’t want to go all in necessarily, but you do what you can in order to make this team good enough just so you can see so you can fully evaluate. If LaMelo gets hurt this year, but and everybody else is doing their thing, then I think you feel comfortable about like, all right, it’s time to move on. You know, we tried. Let’s see where this, you know, let’s trade them and see where it goes. I don’t know if that will happen, but I’m just saying that now is the time to like see what you actually got. And I think that Jeff Peterson is doing that. Uh we had the actual structure of the team’s a little off, but the talent’s there for this team to at least make the play in and and try. So, it’s just a matter of, you know, health and whatnot. But I think we have the system in place. I think we have the players in place uh for the majority of it considering New is so weak. We have the talent to at least, you know, make some noise. It’s I think there’s another move though. I think there’s another move. But either way, I’m excited. At the end of the day, if we keep Mason Plumbley, Spencer Denwitty, Trey, man, kind if we keep all these new guys, I still think it’s a good team. I still think it’s a good team that we can, you know, our season’s not over over by Thanksgiving. And I and I really I really appreciate that by Jeff because I don’t know exactly what he’s cooking, but it’s something it’s something to just put us in the right direction. I I’ve seen people talk about like oh well the Hornets they still they’re still haven’t made a move like the you know the the Magic how they traded for Desmond Bane and then the Hawks who’ve traded for uh Porzingis and then they they’ve had a great offseason getting to kill Alexander Walker as well. My thing is those teams have done more than what we have. That’s just kind of my biggest thing is like you can’t compare the two because what where the Hawks and the Magic currently are, it’s not too far from where we’re at now. And I think that the way you should look at it is we are probably like this past season’s version of the Hawks, this past season version of the Magic in in terms of like team performance, not play style, anything like that. Just team performance. We should be like around that area like late playoff spot like six and then like early playin spot. So seven, eight. We should be around that. and then next year, you know, then we can make the jump they’ve made. So, I think that’s like the biggest thing to think about. Uh I just I just wouldn’t compare our offseason to anybody else. And if anything, we’re we’re on, you know, the path of of greatness. I I wouldn’t say greatness, that’s far, but you get what I’m saying. Either way, thank you so much for watching. I’m sorry that it’s not a full video or anything like that. I might just like put a picture up or something. We’ll figure it out. Um but yeah, I had to do this. I’m literally recording on my iPhone. I tried to do a video from my iPhone, but all the lighting didn’t look good in the hotel. It It was just It was just a lot. So, I figured this would be easier. Um, but yeah, lots of lots of fun stuff. Lots of lots of fun stuff. And I think something’s on the horizon. If something does happen, I will be sure to record. Um, maybe I’ll just do a short. I don’t know. We’ll figure it out. But I’ll definitely make sure to even if I have to do this again, I’ll make sure to do it. But thanks so much for watching and I’ll see you guys next time. Peace.
Are Bigger Moves On The Horizon For The Charlotte Hornets? The Charlotte Hornets have recently traded for Collin Sexton, signed Mason Plumlee, resigned Tre Mann, acquired Pat Connaughton, and signed Spencer Dinwiddie. Jeff Peterson is cooking up something and whatever it is, we will know soon. This might be one of the best Hornets teams in recent years.

If we sign a PF, 30 wins is very doable for this group
Blessings to all who see 🙈 this ❣️ Go Hornets 🎉 80's to today …been there old coliseum to now ….let's Go!!
I don’t hate the Plumley move in isolation but I hate that we’re rolling into next season with two 2nd round picks and a veteran at the league minimum at center. That and we’ve messed up the draft horribly other than Ball and Lamelo. Kon is not very exciting for #4 overall
Plumly you kidding me!
There has to be another deal coming otherwise multiple players will be waived or bought out. What about PJ Hall playing for the Hornets summer league. Big body 6 '10" averaged 19.2 points and 12.6 rebounds last season for Denver's g league team. Would be a great 2 way signing.
I think we're gonna take a huge swing at a guy making big money, Domantas Sabonis anyone?
What about a John Collins trade. Fits in with this group and believe Jazz would move him for seconds and short-term contracts. Collins is in the last year of his deal.
Micic got traded immediately after the Hornets got him from the suns.. I don’t think the CBA affects how quickly you can be moved
😂😂 I laughed when he said we got the system. What system is that we running lol. All Offense lol . Charlotte depth chart is AAU defense 😂. Fucking awful lol.
melo for sabonis
Jarred Allen
Why don’t we try and play MOUSSA at the four?
I wouldn’t be surprised if we swing for Giannis. Just don’t know if the FO trusts Melo’s ankles anymore
Jeff is good at what he is doing he being no joke
That Dinwiddie pick-up only makes sense in the context of another move. If they didn't get Sexton, it would be very good. Add in Connighton… its weird.
Plums will be a good guy to have around.
