Really interesting podcast with Russo going over free agency day for the Wild.
Couple things that I found intersting:
Russo seems really confident about Kaprizov resigning here. Says that Leipold and Guerin being so public about and all the indications from everything behind the scenes makes it seem like it’s already done and they might be waiting on Kaprizov to come back from Moscow to announce it. Also talks about how the new CBA really benefits the Wild in these negotiations because if Kaprizov makes it to free agency, the max term another team could give him is 6 years and the Wild could give him 8.
Russo is not convinced Rossi is 100% not getting traded this summer. Says he thinks that Guerin might have made the statement that he’ll match any offer sheet as a strategic move to get teams to maybe up their offer into the 7.02 AAV range. Strongly feels they are going to keep looking for a trade this summer.
Russo also talks about potential line combos now with Tarasenko.
Lots of interesting stuff in this one. Strong recommend.
