Have The Miami Dolphins Already Found Their Answer At Cornerback?
on this episode of Finn Too Deep as we dive in with myself and Neil Driscoll. Do the Miami Dolphins have their answer at quarterback already? We will discuss that in depth and in detail. Also, man, with the fallout continuing from the trade between the Dolphins and the Steelers, are the narratives that are starting to pop up around Minka Fitzpatrick justified or are they pure rubbish? Plus, we’ll discuss a little Darren Waller, some Tyreek Hill, and much, much more. Do me the favor, smash the like button, subscribe if you are new, and as always, let’s get into this one. Neil, the Miami Dolphins, they’ve had a busy week, one where a lot of people were starting to go on vacation for the next few weeks, right before training camp. This is the period where even analysts like to get away for a little bit. Um, but the Dolphins two days in a row started this week off with a bang. Obviously trading Johnu Smith as well as Jaylen Ramsay and a draft pick to the Steelers for a draft pick in return, that being a fifth round pick, as well as Ma Fitzpatrick. And then they turned around and they acquired the next day Darren Waller for a late round pick swap. Um, man, what a wild week to be a Dolphins fan, Neil. Yeah, like we always say, they definitely aren’t a born franchise to follow. They might not win a lot of playoff games in recent times, but they sure do do a good job of keeping you engaged with tomorrow being the fourth of July here. Uh, in the States, I guess freedom is the thing. And depending on how you view it, the, you know, I view it, the Dolphins are free from Jaylen Ramsay. Uh Jaylen Ramsey might view it. He’s free from Miami. But uh I think it’s honestly one of I was just telling you before we jumped on one of the more surreal things I can remember happening cuz you know I it looked like we were going to be getting a conditional fifth round pick, right? And then I think what made the complicated matters was that Aaron Rogers got signed with Pittsburgh and it wasn’t a monster contract but you know one year $13 million and I think at that point things got a little bit more complicated on Pittsburgh’s end. So I think you know uh um Ricky uh he put it out there weeks ago about the Steelers. I think Chris Greer’s Yeah, I think Chris Greer’s patience
in this scenario really paid off because, you know, I don’t know about anyone here. Uh, you know, but I’d much rather have Minka Fitzpatrick 10 out of 10 times over a conditional fifth round pick. And, you know, I I I I just One thing I
take your victory lap too, Neil. Like, I mean, you were the one who suggested that it could be a two for one. You’re the one who suggested Take your victory lap on that show where we covered what Ricky said. You also said that maybe we send Jonnu and Jaylen in the same package. So go ahead, take your victory.
Yeah. To sweeten that pot. And you know why I thought it? Because I agree with the Dolphins that Jon Smith was a very good player here. And to take it a step further, I really hate to see how stung he is on the way out because I like Jonu Smith and I do think he had one of the most productive tight end of seasons and I’ve seen in my lifetime. And but the way the Dolphins have operated in the past is off of a one hit wonder. They pay them
and then in two years they’re trying to figure a way to get out of that contract. I don’t think with a healthy waddle, a healthy Tyreek and my expectations for Devon Aane this year that Jonah Smith’s going to come close in Miami or in Pittsburgh to hitting the production that he saw last year.
So for me, I don’t view Jono Smith as a $12 million a year player. No,
I’m happy they didn’t pay him.
That number where we were like, hey, if you want 8 million, okay, but if you want 10 to 12 million, we would say, we were saying this, sorry, brother, bye-bye. Like, we said this, right? Like that was a number we put out there,
right? And if look, and and he has a role. He is a slot catching tight end who, you know, does a very good job as a P, but he’s not blocking. He’s not, you know, I saw someone who told me like, oh, Darren Waller is a bad signing because he can’t block. Let’s not act like Jonah Smith, Jonathan Ogden out there, right? Like it’s one of those things and like a good player goes, it’s a tough situation. I I I guess I’m a little baffled why the Miami Dolphins are always always in the wrong. It feels like whenever they make any move like I don’t know if you’re asking me if I can have a conditional fifth round pick or make a Fitzpatrick and a fifth round pick is which what we got for adding Jono into this deal. I mean, it’s night and day. And like I, you know, like the thing that’s really busted me up this week, to be honest, is this notion that because Ma Fitzpatrick is leaving the Steelers, he’s no longer a good player. Like, like this is a guy that I think it’s crazy if people don’t think he’s still a top five to seven safety. Maybe his ball production has dropped, but he also plays next to Deshawn Elliot, who’s the ultimate gambler at the safety position, who does a lot of dirty work in the box. And when your safety’s up in the box, that puts the other safety up against it on the back end, right?
Yeah. But did you see a lot of those clips that Steelers fans were were sharing to try and push that narrative? And we’ll talk about other narratives about Mink in a little bit here, but they were trying to push that narrative you’re talking about. And they were showing like, you know, Joey Porter busted coverage, Deshawn Elliot making the mistake and leave and hanging Minka Fitzpatrick out to dry. And then they were blaming it all on Minka. And it’s like, you know, Steeler fans weren’t even sharing proper all 22 clips to show, you know, Minka’s downturn that they claim he’s been having. They were showing stuff where Minka was having to try and make up for terrible communication and coverage breakdowns that clearly weren’t it wasn’t his fault. It was wild.
Well, right. The Steelers have a pretty good defense, right? TJ Watt, Cameron Hayward, Patrick Queen’s there. Um,
on a down year, Megan Fitzpatrick won defensive MVP for the Steelers.
Yeah,
you know, just just putting that out there. This guy’s 28 years old.
Yeah.
Charles Woodson played safety until he was 34 in Green Bay.
I think Minka at worst will play the next two years that he’s currently under contract for at a very high level. He ultimately comes in here instantly is the best safety in the whole division. He’s probably even at this point of his career, with maybe the exception being Zack Sealer, the best player on Miami Dolphins defense altogether. And you know what? I I said this the other day. You got rid of a guy that came to an 8:00 meeting at 8:36 a.m. and you picked up a guy that comes to an 8:00 meeting at 6:30 a.m. That’s what you did. And you got a guy who loves football. You never hear about Minka for the wrong reasons. He’s a culture guy. He’s a character guy. He fits in here well. And to be honest, he was done a disservice his first time here. And he never got to write his story here in Miami.
Hell, we got Austin Jackson for freaking Minka Fitzpatrick. Minka Fitzpatrick’s going to be wearing a gold jacket one day. And I I just hope that he gets a couple really strong years here. But, you know, from a football perspective, to upgrade from Ashton Davis to Minka Fitzpatrick is astronomically a difference maker. And it’s going to be awesome to see him back, man. And like I’ll be honest, like I didn’t know if I’d be like when I saw it come through, I was like, “Huh?” And I had to let it digest, but like man, I’ve been like pretty damn I had an extra pep in my step all week long because of Ma coming back, you know? So, I I’m happy that he’s here. I think he’s the better football player right now than Jaylen Ramsey. And and what I’ll say this on the way out, I have
we got the best we got the best football player in the trade,
right? And you know, and like this like to me like this also doesn’t mean that Chris Greer failed when he originally traded for Jaylen Ramsey. We gave up Hunter Long and a third round pick for Jaylen Ramsey who made a Pro Bowl here and did, you know, he wasn’t the same Jaylen Ramsey, but he was a solid football player here for two years. I, you know, like we didn’t lose that at all. and to take that resource and be able to bring back make a Fitzpatrick, you know, I I think I think both of those moves were good by Chris Greer. He gets a lot of credit or a lot of hate for the the the moves he makes that aren’t good. I think he equally deserves it. Like to get a guy like Ma back in that trade, which could have been nothing more than a fifth round pick. It shows me also that they are in to win the season that will conquer anyone who thinks that there’s a chance that they’ll tank. If they were planning to tank or something crazy like I’ve heard, they wouldn’t take a guy like Ma back. They would have take the fifth round pick, right?
Yeah. Yeah. Um, let me ask you this. Uh, Darren Waller, all right, let’s shift gears here for a bit. Um, first of all, I think Ramsay that raise, I don’t know if you saw my tweet, but it ended up being it ended up being verified where
he they needed to give him the raise for him to even go to Pittsburgh, right? And
yeah, he wanted to go to the Rams first and foremost. They just didn’t have
Well, it was the Rams, the 49ers, and the Chargers, but the 49ers and the Chargers never got serious. And then when the Rams got serious, they wanted Ramsay plus picks to take them on,
right?
Like they they, you know, they weren’t taking on that money. And actually, another team that I’ve heard was the Dallas Cowboys. And I have heard, and this is some exclusive information for everyone right here. I have heard that there were discussions regarding a player for player swap being Don Bland for Ramsay or Diggs for Ramsay. Those those conversations legitimately happened. Well, Bland’s an unrestricted free agent this year, so that would make sense. Yep. They had to pay him. That’s what was kind of the turnoff.
And I had heard that they were looking to potentially Oh, sorry about my dog barked in the background, but they I thought they were looking to find a trade partner potentially for Diggs. uh at some point. So, that all made sense. But look, at the end of the day, getting Ma Fitzpatrick’s back, I I like I don’t think he could have made a better trade there if I’m being honest.
Um,
you know, for me, M is at least still worth a second round trade value. So, I thought it was a great move for him. And Jaylen Ramsey, I will give him credit. I think one thing that the Steelers did get is a guy that fits in their defense for the capacity to spy against Lamar Jackson. Because I think what Ramsay’s doing best at this point of his career is he’s a sound tackler around the line of scrimmage. I think he did a good job of doing that in Miami, but I think his days of being a a pure hover corner that you can count on at a high level are behind him. And I I have a hard I have a feeling because I picked the Steelers to be this year’s Jets. I have a feeling that Ramsay might be looking for a new home as early as next year if if things go south in Pittsburgh. Yeah, because Tomlin’s going to be gone and they’ll get rid of him and they’ll blow the whole thing up.
Well, and on that note, you saw who signed a three-year extension today, right? The GM for the Steelers.
Yeah. Omar,
my guy my guy Andy is going to be free after this year, too.
Yeah, that’s
Andy Widell.
That’s who you’ve been wanting. But let’s get Okay, let’s get into Darren Waller for a sec. So, the Darren Waller trade. Um, all right. Incentive laden deal that can get up to 5 million. So basically, if he gives us good production, he’s going to be on the same pay scale as what Jonnu was going to be on if he didn’t get a raise. So that solves that problem. 33 now. He’s in really good shape. He talked about it on with with Gruden, right, back in March about, you know, he’s doing more intensive training than stuff you do at CrossFit. We all know how intense that can be. All right. Um, on top of that, he’s been talking about since, you know, forever that he wants, you know, Frank Smith is the only guy he’d come back and play for. Um, and here he is coming back and playing for Frank Smith. And quite frankly, like I said to fans, you got to start taking this from this perspective. Frank Smith, if anyone’s going to get the best out of Darren Waller, it’s going to be Frank Smith. All right? You just got to watch them talk with each other. But Art Stapleton had a really interesting tweet where he talked about how two off seasons ago, right? Two training camps ago, you know, and Art Stapleton’s been on the Giants be for a while, Neil, and he said that was one of the most dominant players he’s ever seen until Malik Neighbors came around in terms of a training camp with the Giants, his whole time on the beat. Neil, if we get 75% of that, because he’s not going to get 80 to 100 targets. I think he’s going to get like 50 to 60 targets, right? You know, if he can win the one-on-one matchups, if he can win in the red zone, you know, like if he can just make the most of his opportunities. And also, this is going to be the best quarterback throwing to him since remember Derek Carr when he was MVP like before he got hurt, right? And he’d never been the same since those injuries with the Raiders. I mean, what are your thoughts on this whole um Darren Waller thing? Because remember, he’s a better athlete than Johnny. He runs a 446. Jonno ran a 462. Now, I know he’s 33, but Neil, if his body from a year off from football can adapt to getting back to being able to taking the beating of an NFL schedule, you know, if his body holds up under Frank Smith, is it safe to say that, you know, we might have something? because it’s not corner or quarterback where you get out of the league for a year or two and the mental processing starts lagging behind. You know, wide receiver, it’s footwork, you know, it’s how you stem your route. It’s that kind, you know, not a, you know, it’s not a mentally taxing um position like a corner or like a quarterback. Uh it’s a lot easier to get back in the groove of things at receiver being a year out of the league than it is being a quarterback out of the league, you know, for a year, i.e. Deshaawn Watson. Uh what are your thoughts on the whole Darren Waller um situation? Do you view it like I do as lowrisk potential? I’m not going to say high, but potential reward. Yeah, man. And I think one of the things what fans have to stop doing and I see too much of this is that every move has to be a home run or an out like you know what I mean everything it can’t be it’s just a good move and why I like the move is that you got a guy who has been one of the most prolific pass catching tight ends in the NFL over the last decade probably right and all you gave up to get him was swapping a sixth and seventh round pick with the Giants who are probably one of the five worst teams in football. And if the Dolphins are at the middle of the pack team at worst for about 16 or 17 slots in an NFL draft, you have a player in Darren Waller with the upside that he brings. And you know, for me, I hate math, but here’s a simple equation for me. Can Nick Westbrook Aini and Darren Waller combine to do what Jono Smith did? And if he does, it’s a win for me. I, you know, I’m thinking 500 receiving yards and four or five touchdowns is all I really would like to get from Dan Darren Waller. And if we get more than that, then I’m like, man, now we’re cooking with some grease because he’s 33. Sure. But tight end’s another produ tight end is another position where we’ve seen guys like Antonio Gates, we’ve seen Zack Z recently for the Commanders still be able to make plays when called upon. Right. I I think the NFL is all about buying lottery tickets and seeing if you can hit them. And
some teams do and some teams don’t.
Especially when you get into depth. Right, Neil?
Right. And and all I know is that the teams that buy the most lottery tickets seem to win the lottery the most. Right. And that’s where to me this is very little harm. We’re probably looking at a base salary contract less than $2 million a year that’s incentive based. So, if it’s a one-year, 5year deal, that’s awesome because that means Darren Waller played to the maximum of the expectations of the Dolphins.
Like, I don’t see how you lose here. Um, you know, I before Darren Jonah Smith got to Miami, I, you know, and had the year that he had last year, I don’t think a lot of people were banging the drum for a guy like him.
No.
Right. So like and I and I did this yesterday,
but we saw the potential with how they used him in Atlanta off the screens and stuff. We’re like, okay, I see the potential, but if you would have got him fresh off of New England, him and Hunter Henry were both big disappointments, but we kind of knew they would be because they didn’t fit what they want to. They didn’t fit in New England, right? You know, like
Well, right. And I did this yesterday. Uh, you know, his highest receiving yards in a season, Jonu, was 582. And with Miami, he had a 52% increase from his best season ever. 52% increase. And that’s, you know, I said this and I believe it. I believe Jono had his best year here because he played with the best quarterback that he played here
despite missing six games. And I do think McDaniel’s scheme was very beneficial for him. And I think the absence of Jaylen Wadd and Tyreek Hill throughout the lineup throughout the season helped him get more targets than he’s probably accustomed to as well. Like I
ODell Beckham was a failure right last year on a similar deal.
Yeah.
Look what happened. Did we really care that much when Odell Beckham left? No. So that’s the worst we’ll feel in this Darren Waller situation.
I feel really good with a strong bet. If anyone wants to take it that whatever Odell put up for us last year, Waller will do way better. And in fairness, we were a little bit more hyped about OBJ because he wasn’t coming out of retirement and we he was going to be a third option. We’re like, “Oh, he can eat here.” But he was clearly never bought fully in. But bro, I’m not even expecting 500 yards. Give me 300 to 400 cuz I think because they want to run a little bit more 11 personnel. I think you’re still going to get a heavy dosage with or without Waller, you’re going to get a heavy dosage of Julian Hill and Pharaoh Brown. I really honestly believe that. I mean, I think it’s going to be a legitimate rotation and you’re going to see him instead of a Y, a true Y, you’ll see him more in that F role a little bit out of the slot. And like you said, Nick Westbrook kind and him, they’ll probably be swapping back and forth. And really kind of what you said, you know, holds a lot of weight. If they can combine and give you more than what Janu did, we’re going to be good. And I think combined they will give you more even still from Waller’s obviously not known you know for being a great run blocker but what can Nick Westbrook ei do right like he can he’s a guy who can run block so when you combine them with Nick Westbrook’s you know ability to block and then they both offer you that red zone one-on-one receiving threat as well you know you might have something there so I’m not like I I think people need to the days of 2020 and 2019 Darren Waller they’re gone. We’re not going to see an 1100 yard guy ever again. He’s 33 years old. All we need is competent production. That’s why I said give me 75% of the guy Art Stapleton was talking about he saw in preeason in that training camp for the Giants two offseasons ago. We get that, you know, we get 75% of that dominant player. We’ll be just fine. You know what I mean? And like you said, you made a valid point. If we got to pay him the max of that 5 million incentive laden contract, we should all be happier than pigs rolling around and you know what, because that means he had a damn good season. So, and if he’s going to have a good season, I think it’s with Frank Smith. I think he I think he wanted to be here. So, when that became an option and the Dolphins were making their rounds, I feel like that’s what accelerated this. Obviously, the relationship probably with Drew Rosen house doesn’t hurt, but like this is a this is a a very inexpensive lottery ticket that has more upside than downside. And you know, I I I just I guess I’m one that’s going to say this and it’s not going to sound well. I think Jonah Smith’s pretty easy easy to replace. And if that makes me a bad guy, then I’m a bad guy cuz I I don’t think that the Dolphins are any worse as a football team without Jonah Smith as they were with having him.
Were you kind of shocked when he was like when he was talking to Terron Armstead and he’s like, you know, as soon as the season ended, me and my agent were like, “This is a no-brainer. We’re going to be here forever.” and basically how he said, you know, he didn’t foresee this happening with this, how the season ended, you know, because he was a Pro Bowler and, you know, he thought this deal would get done. Are you kind of shocked by the lack of foresight he had of where they were and how they were spending all off season? Yeah, I I because like it it did seem like they were going to find some middle ground, right? But like I I’m telling everyone this and this is this is like my I I’m not really excited about this season,
but I’m I’m really excited with how the Dolphins have been operating in the last calendar year. I really am. That between the draft, between not spending a lot of money into the future into acquiring draft capital into utilizing the compensatory pick to to your favor and with not paying Christian Wilkins a couple years back, I was happy with them not doing that. I still think even Robert Hunt’s an awesome player. Paying James Daniels eight and a half where Robert Hunt’s making $20 million is is a better use of your financial budget. Like I I think that they’ve made some really smart football decisions. And I think this is another one, man. And like I think they’re operating a lot differently. Like our bar for good was set pretty low. And we threw out extensions to a lot of people that practically didn’t deserve them. And I’m not saying Jono didn’t deserve more money because he I think he did. But I think they have a vision for the future. And I don’t think Jono Smith was in that vision, man. And I think to be able to get out of this contract, not have to pay him, there’s going to be opportunity for them in the offseason to add a tight end of their choosing. I think they’re going to be a team that’s looking for a passcatching weapon. And I say that specifically because I do think it’s going to be Tyreek’s last year here. I think they’re going to fall in love with some players like a guy like Nick Harour from South Carolina as a receiver. I know that they’re going to love.
He’s a [ __ ] freak. That guy is an athletic freak, bro.
They they’re going to like him. There’s tight ends like last year was a good tight end class. This is a really good tight end class, too, in my opinion. Like the Dolphins now get to choose. So, it’s like they’re trying to win now with the notion that if it doesn’t work, they’re going to actually have at least the beginning of the foundation laid with people like Chop Robinson, Jonah Savana, Kenneth Grant. I I just think they’re operating a lot more efficiently and smarter than we’ve seen. I wish it was a couple years or maybe maybe a year sooner and I think we’d be in a lot lot better of a position. But yeah, man. Like, best of luck to Jono except when they play us, you know? I hope they go in there and I hope they do beat Baltimore. But then low key, I’ll be honest, I’m my rooting interest this year is to cheer against the Steelers because I think a bad season frees up a certain coach. And yeah, if I hate Aaron Rogers, I hate Rogers.
If we have a winning record, the Tomlin thing will be off the off the table, though. But yeah, for sure.
I mean, listen, and hey, but if we have a losing record and let’s say, you know, Patrick Paul doesn’t work out or or that boy Austin Jackson gets hurt, you know, what if we keep that boy in Miami, Francis Maui Goa, you know, I mean, there’s also you might have a chance at a guy like Kaden Proctor, Spencer Fano, you know, we won’t even get into the quarterback situation. Garrett Nusmire, if Lenor Sers takes a big step this year, I think Kate Clubnick will be the first guy off the board, but I’m good on that. You know what I mean? Um, you know,
oh, hey, what if the quarterback situation’s figured out, but we somehow stutter and they get a chance to add Caleb DS
to Minka? You know what I mean? Um, and there are some good corners in this class. You know, you got
McCoy coming out, right? He’s a pretty good He’s a pretty good corner, too. Um, you got a couple good corners coming out of this class as well. So, um, you know, yeah, it’s it’s going to be interesting, honestly. But you know where I’m at, man. I don’t want to be picking. I’m sick of picking in the top 20. I’m ready to win. And I know, hey, what if they what if they go over after AJ Terrell’s brother? Cuz he’s a guy you could pick. Oh, Avon Terrell. He’s my Yeah. He’s my favorite I’ve seen so far.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. AJ Harris from You don’t like AJ Harris from Penn State?
Oh, I love him. He’s He’s my third.
Yeah. Yeah.
McCoy is my second. AJ Harris is there. I mean, look is your fourth probably.
I love D’Angelo Ponds. It’s funny you say that. I love D’Angelo Ponds. I I dude, I I like a lot of the guys. I I still like Takario Davis, uh from Washington. Mansour Delane from LSU is a guy that I like. Um man, I Jam McCoy from Tennessee is insane. He’s coming off a significant injury, but man, I he he’s got top 10 pick to me. Yeah, he’s a top 10 type of pick. Uh Gierre Hill from uh Michigan is an underassman that has a lot of promise. And then that the kid David Davis Egg Benison from he’s a corner long rangy kid unbelievable athlete. It’s a good corner class and I look I think that that’s going to be a priority and um yeah we we we got a long way to go but man it’s good to talk draft at any point man. Yeah, man. Look, it’s a big week. They, if you ask me, because all that matters is are they better today than they were on Monday, I say the answer for me is yes. I think Ma Fitzpatrick is the gem of the trade. Um, and I love the intrigue with a player like Darren Waller. And like I’m okay again with losing Jono. So, if you ask me, I if I could have any of those players, the guy that I would choose would have been Minka Fitzpatrick. So, he’s a Miami Dolphin. Welcome back, Minka. Uh, can’t wait to see you have six interceptions left this year so that everyone says that you have a drop off can suck it.
No, let’s see him. Let’s No, listen. This is such a Look at You know what’s crazy? The Dolphins basically told you what they thought about Javon Holland. They basically probably agree with us. What an upgrade. He Yeah, they he left his knees in MetLife two years ago and he’s never been the same because they gave him Javon Holland’s money. They basically said, “Oh, here you go. You know, there you go. But we’ll give you the money, the 16 million. Now, I think let’s get into this because there’s some narratives starting to pop up and I want to get your thoughts of if you think they’re justified or not. We already covered the whole situation about what Steelers fans are saying, but let’s talk about Dolphin fans. There’s two narratives that are trying to be spun. one, he already quit on this team when we know that he wasn’t a fan of Brian Flores’s coaching style and Brian Flores wanted him gone, but on top of that, he had some locker room beef with X, you know, going on, too. That really wasn’t sitting well in the situation. But, so they’re trying to say, well, he quit on the team, blah blah blah blah blah. I don’t think that’s a fair that’s one narrative, but I don’t think it’s fair that they’re throwing out. Another one is, and this is what they’re really trying to push, Neil, all the pessimists in the fan base. Well, he didn’t tweet or he didn’t post a video since he came to Miami. He must be unhappy with the trade when today video
he’s never he’s never on social media.
Yeah. Today a video came out of um you know him basically at the all eyes DB cornerback you know the all eyes DB camp and he’s putting in the work you know you you see him you know backpedaling flipping his hips in the highlights and everything like that like the video that’s come out with him is him getting to work and you know I want to get your thoughts on this are do you think dolphin pessimistic dolphin fans are just reaching for something to talk about because Always Neil, I listen Neil, we’ve talked about this on the channel. The chat said this. I’ve said this since we got Minka. Bro, I don’t care about your tweets. I’ve seen enough of the tweets from Tyreek and Jaylen Ramsay. I don’t give a crap about the tweets. I care about what I see on the field and how good of a soldier you are going to be because we are in need of more leaders in this locker room and to lead this culture change. We need a guy like this. And you talked about his leadership skills. I mean, the guy roped off around the Steelers logo because he got tired of people walking all over the
How was that? How awesome is that?
You know, that’s amazing, bro. Like, and we need someone like that in here. Someone who’s a a leader. And we know Greer loves him. And we know Greer didn’t want to trade him at all. Uh, you know what I mean? Um, what are your like can what do you think about this narrative about oh well, you didn’t tweet or put out a video. I think it’s absolute [ __ ] Neil.
Yeah, I I’ll break I’ll make some breaking news here. Right.
When Minka left Miami, the guy went on to win playoff games. He was a threetime allpro. He won. He won by leaving Miami. The Dolphins lost. They didn’t do [ __ ] with it, right? They got Austin Jackson who’s already hurt going into the season. like like make it Fitzpatrick isn’t wrong from going going to a toxic franchise with a toxic culture and saying, “You know what? I deserve better than this.” So he goes, “Where does he go? What? One of the top five franchises in the whole damn league.” Like if you were in the same situation in your personal life, if you were at a job where you hated it, it was toxic. You were around people you didn’t want to be, you would leave, too. So let’s not be hypocritical here. The fact is is that he bettered himself and everyone hated to see it. That’s why we cared so much about some 49ers fullback stiff arm the next week. You wanted to show his low lightss, but you forgot all those highlights. You forgot about when he was lighting up uh Jonu Smith near the uh goal line when threw a pass that he should have been caught for a touchdown and Ma laid the lumber on him, right? Like we want to show and anyone that leaves the colors make them out to be the menace, right? The fact of the matter is is Meaf Fitzpatrick’s a damn good football player. He’s going to be wearing a gold jacket one day and leaving Miami is probably half the reason that he got or 90% of the reason he got there. Like I I just think that the sky’s always fallen when it comes to this team. And that’s with me saying that I don’t think the Dolphins are going to be as good as people probably think or as bad. I think we’re going to see a lot more of the same. And but man, I don’t know. It does seem like anytime they make a move, it’s blood versus crips. It’s a home run or it’s a failure. There’s no like, well, let’s see how this plays out before we jump to a conclusion and make it the automatic Titanic sinking of a scenario, right? Like everything is the Titanic sinking when you spend $1.8 million on a tight end that could be, you know, the best tight end you’ve had in years. Yet, that’s a bad thing. everything they do. It seems like that there’s a certain group that has to attack them. Like it can’t be like, you know what? I don’t know how they can’t get out of their own way, but sometimes this team does some good [ __ ] and sometimes they don’t.
You know what I don’t get? Re you know what I don’t get, Neil? These people just want to be proven so right. They want McDaniel gone. They want Tua gone so we can head back into a rebuild. How many rebuilds have we been through? It hasn’t worked, bro. We got to get this right. Like, you know, like you want to go back into that purgatory for another five years, bro. Like,
right. And I and I I’ll say this. I want to be wrong. I don’t want this team to be nine and eight. I want them to go win a playoff game this year. I want to be
this year, right?
No, I I I could I could see them being I guess a 10- win team.
I could see them being like a six win team. I could see them being in the middle. I think they’re a very hard team to figure out. Uh, you know, I I think that, you know, you look at it, they were 9 and eight last year without two out six plus games and they probably should have won two games where he was out anyway. I mean, they could they could be in like I I it’s a hard team to figure out. I think that I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt the last three years. So, that for the first time, I’m siding on caution a little bit more, but I think they’re still a talented roster. I I think the people that think the Dolphins are going to have a top five pick in this draft, man, like I you’re definitely in a state where uh the marijuana’s legal and you’re getting some good stuff because like this team is noting five games.
Yeah. Yeah. Tu would need to get hurt. Um McDaniel would need to get fired and then let’s say Weaver steps in and it’s an absolute disaster, which I don’t think I think Weaver would inspire them. I think he’d get more wins out of them. So, I don’t think that would happen. But you would need like everything to go wrong for us to be picking top five. They they win five games with Zach Wilson if he plays the whole season. They have the Jets twice, the Browns, the Saints. Like these are teams like the Patriots twice. Are we going to be seeing Skyler with when we see the Steelers going to John or we Rogers, right?
I hate it, man. I I want Aaron Rogers so bad. And that’s where like look, I I I am
saying that I if I had to pick today, probably like a nine and eight record. With that said, I will say this,
that defensive front is going to be really damn good this year. And I think the player that’s gonna blossom the most in maybe the entire NFL this year. So I’m not even just saying this for the Miami. I think Chop Robinson is going to become one of the best pass rushers in football.
Uh and and this is from people that are not Dolphins fans that are in the know are telling me like, “Holy [ __ ] dude. All we hear about in Miami is how good Chop looks.” How good Chop looks. Like I think Chop is going to People are like, “Oh, Phillips and Chub are going to be the starters.” Maybe at the beginning, but a guy who wears 44 is gonna change that. I take the chop stuff personally because you were here. You sat right next to me. You saw how long I was banging the table for that kid since like November, you know, of that draft year. I was talking about, “Yo, we need Chop. We need Chop. We need Chop.” And then everyone came on the the Chop bandwagon. I know you saw it around. They usually always hop on to me and yours opinions come draft season because they know where to find the most accurate Dolphins draft duo in the in this community. And then I saw all those same people were the same ones that were quick to get out on the kid and start calling him a bust in the first six weeks. And then he has that second half of the season where he starts getting the calls he had been earning early on. He started getting them. He started setting the edge. he started having a more diverse pass rush game plan and diversifying his pass rush move set and what he would throw at a defender. And man, I just that I don’t know that was the that encompassed the the perfect amount the perfect um representation of how hot and cold this fan base can be. And you know, you know, like they weren’t even willing to give Chop six weeks to let it play out. It’s the same thing with Darren Waller, you know, like we know what we’re getting with Minka a bit here, right? With Darren Waller, you can’t really say you love it or hate it yet because we got to see how training camp goes because we all don’t know what he is right now, right? But, you know, it’s one of those got to wait and see things, but it’s like with everything, they need an answer right away. You know, they need that itch scratched right away. They can’t wait to let things play out. Like you said, it’s got to be instant either gratification or dissatisfaction. You know,
a bold take here. So, there’s four well-herited pass rushers from Penn State. Michael Parsons, Abdul Carter, Adafa, and Chop. I think Micah is going to get the most, but I think Chop’s going to be second. I think Chop will outplay OA and Abdul Carter. And I love Abdul Carter a lot as a prospect. I think Chop is going to have more sacks than both of them. I think sack I I’d be I’m gonna give a number because it seems like to be the Dolphins number 13. I think Chop’s gonna get 13 sacks this year. And I think honestly I still think that might just be the tip of the iceberg with him as he matures and develops. And another hot take I’ll give is and I I would hate to be a ex-girlfriend of Chris Greer, man, because that guy’s love doesn’t go away, right? Like he got Minka back. I I have an odd feeling that the Dolphins and Laramie Tonsel at some point will will have a reunion. And I know the Commanders just traded for him, but they drafted Josh Connorly
out of Oregon in the same draft. I think they wanted to build as much of a wall as they could this year while they have Jaden uh Jaden Daniels. I have a feeling that the Dolphins eventually are going to get Larry Tonsel back here too because they don’t Greer never they didn’t you know they traded him because of the value not because they didn’t love the player. Yeah. Yeah. I
I just have a feeling man that could happen and we know that as of a few years ago like there was a little bit of rumblings whether the Dolphins might make a run when when he was having some fallouts in Houston. I man you never know like you never know with them when they love a player like it backfires with you like guys like Liam Iikinberg but like sometimes it works out when you get guys like Ma back but yeah man no it’s I I wish the sky wasn’t always fallen and I don’t I what I hate is that every time the Dolphins do something good you go on Twitter and it’s just to the extremes man and if you say Darren Waller I’m intrigued people are like no you’re a [ __ ] idiot you don’t know this what are you thinking And I’m just like, man, like it must be hard to live life that miserable. Shout out to a day one of this channel. He’s in the chat right now. He’s always listening, always watching. He’s the homie. Sean Tonsel. This is Laram’s cousin. He’s in the chat right now. No way. That’s He’s been a day one. He’s been here since me and Em were rocking this. Dude, we would love to have Lar back. Yeah. He said, “Yes, Chris still call him.” And what’s funny is you brand you got Laramie Tonsel and that’s actually a really good point especially if Patrick Paul doesn’t look competent or he does look competent but um you know something happens with Austin Jackson. Remember Larry Tonsel’s got no guaranteed money on his contract next year. Bingo. Bingo. He’s only got guaranteed money this year under Washington. And like you said, they drafted Connor Lee, you know, and they’re probably going to event, that’s probably eventually the idea is move Connor Lee to his natural left tackle position.
And with all due respect to Patrick Paul, I take Thonsel back to today,
bro. He’ll be 31 next year, right? That’s not even a discussion, bro. Like, sorry, Patrick. I don’t care how good you are this year. You’re not going to be Larry Townsel. You got to go back in the line, brother. Right. and and and the frame the framework for a new contract is done because the Ravens just signed Ronnie Stanley same draft class um to an extension. So the framework for a deal is already in place and you know Ronnie Stanley got his money but he had a you know a team friendly deal and I think a deal like that would make a lot of sense and you know I you hear these things and I remember when I used to listen to people say crazy [ __ ] like that and be like oh you’re an idiot that’s never going to happen. Well, who would have thought as of today? Yeah, I was gonna say as of today, Mah Fitzpatrick’s on the Dolphins roster.
Yeah. All right. So, let’s talk about this. Have the Miami Dolphins already found their answer at cornerback. Now, what I mean by this, Neil, is you, you know, I’ve been trying to warn everyone, and you can kind of see it starting to play out. They’re really high on their young corners, but also I’ve been warning everyone, guys, more boundary work is coming for Kater. stopped pitching hauling him to the slot. They liked what they saw in the second half of the last season. The light was clearly going on in Weaver’s system. So, what I mean by this is, is he already the bonafide number one quarterback no matter who they bring in, whether it’s Asante Samuel Jr. or Razul Douglas? So, have they already got their number one guy in house? Have they already got their answer at CB1? and anyone else brought in is to complement their current CB1 in Kater Coo
for this season. Absolutely. And like like Russell Douglas is the guy that I actually think they end up bringing in and I think it’s a welcome addition because experience, but I I’ll be blunt. I think it’s going to if he’s on this roster, it’s going to be an up and down roller coaster for a lot of the year. I think he’ll have moments where he looks good. And I think, you know, it’ll be kind of like, you remember Byron Maxwell when we acquired him from the Eagles and he was getting all those picks, but he was still getting burnt like crazy. Like that’s the type of move that I could see a Russell Douglas being. Like it kind of sometimes you love it, sometimes you don’t like it. But I do like, you know, when I think about the Dolphins and being 9 and 8, cornerback is the position that stands out for me. And the only guy that I trust out there is Kater Kohu and he’s in a contract year. you know, he’s been he’s been a diamond in the rough for Chris Greer. He has been gold. Like, he’s had his bad moments and his good moments, but to get a guy from a small school that no one’s ever heard of and have him play at the level he did this last three years, right? Like, that’s gold, right? So, he’s a guy that I always think will be up for the the test. He’ll battle. Um, it’s not him I even worry about. It’s it’s the rest of that room. With that said, I saw you tweet this yesterday. The notion of bringing back Xavier Howard is probably one of the worst takes I’ve seen of the year.
Um that guy was the definition of cooked when he was here. And I love Xavier Howard. Like he’s probably he’s probably a top like six, seven favorite dolphin of mine ever. But hey man, father time’s undefeated. I’m learning that every freaking day. I stub my toe and I’m out for two weeks, right? So, uh, you know, Kater is the man. Cam Smith, like I don’t have high expectations, but damn, would it be good for him to find himself this year. I do think they like Storm Duck. I think they like Bonner. I I think it’s it’s a bad quarterback room, but I think the reason it’s going to kind of stay the way it is and at worse get a guy like I think the high end would be Asante Samuel, but I think that the Dolphins don’t want to go out and overpay for somebody that’s not worth it. And I don’t think a lot of players that are out there open the open market right now are are guys that I’d break the bank for. And I like the fact that they’re remaining patient with Douglas. They’re not just throwing money on them, but like they tried at Jar Alexander, right? They took a swing. He wanted to be in Baltimore. Okay. Like I I I just think that that’s where they are. And but good for Kater, man. Like I I like Kater. Honestly, it wouldn’t even make me so upset if he was a guy they extended for the cheap.
You know what’s crazy too about Asante Samuel? There’s a certain Miami Herald columnist who will go unnamed that keeps taking his little subliminal shots at me. Someone asked him about Asante Samuel Jr. And this person proceeded to tell the person that asked him about it that he’s a pressman corner and he won’t fit. Well, first of all, wrong for someone who claims they know how to watch film and been watching for so long. Once again, thank you for showing us you don’t watch the film or know how to watch it. Correct me if I’m wrong, Neil, because I know you evaluated Sante Samuel. Was he not the best off-man zone corner in that class when he was coming out? Is that not what he’s thrived in since FSU due to his size and his inability to take on big physical receivers at the line of scrimmage and in man? Correct me if I’m wrong, Neil, because I know you evaluated Sante Samuel. Was he not primarily a zone offman corner? If I’m not mistaken, isn’t that exactly what he was doing when he was picking off Trevor Lawrence in that playoff game uh for the Chargers a couple years back?
Again, guys, if you’re if you’re gonna listen to player evaluations, come to the people that know what they’re talking about. Don’t ask the people that are trying to lie to you and they, you know, they don’t want their ego bruised so they front like they’re the smartest in the room when they’re really not.
Asante Samuel thrives in off man and zone. He does not thrive in press, people. He’s He’s a way better player than Russell Douglas, by the way. Way better. Like, doesn’t the next stuff worry you? Like that, bro.
It’s it terrify.
Wrong hit and it’s over, Neil.
Yeah. That’s why it’s it’s one year, $3 million though, and that’s that’s the contract that I’d sign tomorrow, right? Like I think that’s the range they’re looking for. I mean, dude, I I like I love Asante and if he was healthy, like again, he’s part of now, but he could be also part of tomorrow, which gets me excited. Um, but I will say this. Would you pay Kater today the contract that Brandon Stevens got for the Jets, which was about 12 million this season? Yeah.
Yeah, I would too. So, like that’s the kind of player I think Kater is. I think he’s a good number two, a great number three corner that is versatile and does a lot of things well. And damn, dude, I’ll tell you this, that dude can lay the thunder. So, give me a guy like that 10 out of 10 times, man. you know, the guy the guy came in with fire in his belly, outplayed where he got selected obviously, and good for him. I hope I hope he him and Zack Steeler are two guys I’d like to keep under deals here obviously for for now. Um, so like what are you expecting out of a guy like Jason Marshall who really if he doesn’t get into the rotation on the boundary, he doesn’t offer you anything under the slot and he doesn’t offer you anything in special teams, it’s either basically make the rotation or you’re useless. What do you What do you expect? And remember, this was a highly touted four-star recruit coming out. What are your thoughts? I think he’s like the Channon Tindle at the cornerback room where if he doesn’t make it, he’s probably on the roster because of where they selected him, but he’s probably not playing a lot of football snaps. And like, you know, out of all the Dolphin picks, I would say that was probably the most underwhelming one for me on draft day was probably Jason Marshall. With that said, people that I follow and I respect as draft analysts that on the mock draft way before the season had Marshall as a late first round type of pick. So, I think the talent is there. And, you know, I like when I get excited to watch the preeason this year, you know, one of the things I’ll be looking at is Jason Marshall because if that guy can live up to the natural tools that he has, you know, he could be a a great selection, but if he, you know, doesn’t figure it out, it’s a waste of a fourth round pick and, you know, he’s probably not going to be long for Miami. And you know, I I like to take people that do have upside like that though because you can’t teach that, right? You can’t teach that. And if you get it lightning in a bottle, you know, that guy might be a great NFL player. Like guys that we’ve seen, we see this often where K is just the situation wasn’t great for a player. They come to the NFL and and it’s a different ballgame, right? I I like to take the guys with elite traits that were really highly scouted and hope professional coach and can bring the best of them. But he’s going to have every chance to make the team as at least one of the five cornerbacks. So, we’ll buckle up and see what he does.
You think Storm Duck takes another leap? And I know me and you were really high on him. We both had a mocked in the first round of our mock drafts that year based on the talent. We didn’t know he was immature and he liked to puff the magic dragon and all that stuff and he was going to be falling asleep in meetings. But what if Cam Smith starts to put it together too? Me and you were very high on the talent of the kid on the tape of the kid,
right? Yeah. I like I loved the length and range that he had and I I actually had him pretty I think I had him as like a 22nd overall player in that draft.
Yeah. Me and me me and you both had him going in the 20s, I think.
Yeah. And I I I remember I had the Ravens draft on him because I thought he kind of fit their DNA. And it’s a huge year for him. And and I I I got I got to give the Dolphins some level of benefit of doubt here. They see these guys a lot more than me.
Yeah. Their patience at the quarterback position right now tells me at least it’s whether it’s Storm Duck, it’s Cam Smith, there’s somebody outside of Kater who’s caught their eye internally.
Yeah. They’ve seen flashes. We’ve heard privately. I know I have. I think you have too. We’ve heard privately that they’ve seen the flashes of Cam Smith, but they haven’t seen the work ethic to grow off of those flashes basically is what the the feeling I’ve gotten.
Right. And and I I agree with that 100%. And I think what happens is sometimes when you’re young and immature, it takes you time to be a professional. And sometimes you don’t ever grow into it. I you know, I I kind of wonder if a guy that was a malcontent that was unhappy when they were here like Jill Ramsey was maybe a bad influence on a player that like like Cam. Yeah.
You know what I mean? Like I I think I think maybe his Yeah. Yeah. Like he’s he hasn’t had the best role models when it comes to
Ma going to set him straight up.
Well, dude, that’s that’s that was going to be literally my next sentence is a guy like Ma comes in, helps this guy learn to be a pro. Look, he’s the most talented corner on this roster. And I have heard there’s been flashes where like the Dolphins have been like, “Wow, this is why we’ve drafted him. We got to see it.” But here’s what here reason I I want this. I want to see him play. I want to see where the lights are on if he’s the guy. I want him to start for at least half the season. And if he’s a complete dud, obviously then you don’t have him for the future. But like I do think there is such a thing where people perform better in games than they do in practice, right? I I just have a feeling that he’s going to take his lumps, but that’s how you’re going to get the best version of Cam Smith is let him get out on that field and mature. Let him get some positive momentum. And that might be what ignites him to kind of keep moving in the right direction. Make a couple plays on the ball, get your first career pick in your hands, like, you know what I mean? like uh success can be the ultimate motivating factor and let the guy go try to get some of that on the football field.
Yeah. Yeah. Um man, they really like those young players. I mean, that’s why I mean, they’re just not I don’t know if you saw Barry Jackson’s tweet, Neil, but he implied that they circled back to one of the free agents they’ve checked in with, but they didn’t raise their their price. And I’m getting all the indications that was Razel Douglas.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That that’s what I’m reading between the lines there and thinking too. And you know eventually he’s going to sign with somebody and I don’t know like if
does that tell you like if they’re not willing to budge on that number just because I mean they gave didn’t they give like Kendall Fuller like eight or nine million and you know they’re not giving no eight or nine million to Razel Douglas. I mean you’ll remember what Kendall numbers because you’re the cap guy. You’ll remember it better than I would but it was like eight or nine million. They’re not giving that or 10 or whatever. They’re not giving that money to Razil Douglas. But are you shocked that like let’s say they’re at like three or four million? Are you shocked that they’re not budging and coming up to like five or six to get this done? Because you remember, didn’t Razul Douglas go meet with the Titans after us and he left there without a deal, too?
And I thought I thought maybe Carolina.
Oh yeah, it was Carolina. Sorry.
Okay. Yeah, I thought I knew like So no. Yeah. So like but I I see I like that because here’s the reality. These agents are going to let you know if you’re in on the bidding when things are getting close with other teams like Right. They’re going to try to maximize this.
Yeah.
Why bet why why bet against yourself? Why go, you know, why raise your own cost of business by making more of a market? You put your offer out there every couple weeks. You check in, you know, how’s everything going, right? Don’t bid against yourself. Like that’s what I feel like they’d be doing. And like see Russell Douglas I think would be a solid move. It doesn’t like get me totally excited. A part of me would rather see the young guys actually get the chance to play. And I think maybe that’s might be the Dolphins thing is we’ll come up a little bit if our guys suck in the preseason. But right now, we like some of these guys. Let’s see what we got before we up our ante. And I like that. I I like not being the team that just throws money to solve every issue because I think you I don’t think you can win like that. I think to have respect and be a good franchise, you got to set your line in the sand sometimes. And they did it with like a guy like Joey Bosa in this off seasonason. If the guy doesn’t want to come to that number, go somewhere else and go get your money. And I I like operating like that. I don’t like to be the desperate kid at the dance. You know what I mean? I don’t want to be that guy.
Yeah. I think it just goes back to the point we’re talking about the youth. I think them not raising the price for Razul Douglas shows that like, okay, you don’t want to play ball. Well, we’re happy with the young guys we got and we want to see what we got here, right? We want to see another year of Storm Duck. We want to see Kater Co who lead that room. We want to finally see, like you said, I think Greer’s at that same point, Neil. We want to see if when the lights come on, if Cam can show up a little bit here. You know, they want to see some of the investments they’ve made turn out a little bit here. And I mean I would love a Sante Samuel especially if they decide I mean I’ve heard they are trying to go a little bit more man and press but it it but I don’t think it’s going to be like a massive leap. You know what I mean? I don’t think it’s going to be like oh I think you’ll see like a six to 10% raise in their man or press. I don’t think it’s going to be like some massive No.
But I just get back to it. I know I said this earlier, Neil, but man, in a position that’s that high contact and that t taxing on the body, never mind with the Dolphins, Asante Samuel takes the wrong hit, his career could be over. Next, my number one fear with a with a player.
And do we want that after what we’ve seen with two on the field with his concussions?
Well, look, you and I are wrestling fans. Like, when guys prematurely retire, why is it
their necks, right? Like, it’s always the neck and and the real
Yeah. edge. Uh Kevin Owens is going through it right now.
He just was going to Right. And then he got better. He had to take some real time off. Right.
Right. And he you know cuz here’s what it the fear of it is is what what more damage could you do in the future.
Yeah.
Yeah. He he probably is. Hey Aussie, talk tell him to call me. I’ll meet him down there now. Uh but no, like you know that’s the thing. I think the fear of the injury because I think once you get one more injury and you’ve had a bad neck injury
Yeah.
I think then it’s kind of you got to write that final chapter, right? Like that’s Yeah. You know, look, I I’ll say like all jokes aside,
as much as I’ve watched football and I and I like the violence of it. I like the hard-hitting,
I’ve never had a good I’ve never had a good moment in my life ever watching anyone get carded off the field, man. And that scares the [ __ ] out of me. And I like I don’t want to see that happen to somebody.
And I think a name we didn’t give enough credit to and I’ve talked about him on this show before and we just slipped his mind. Isaiah Johnson’s been making plays. Yeah. Yeah. They like him. They like they like him a lot. So, um,
shout out to media hates my Finn77. He said, “Finnfam, let’s go.” I love some of y’all names. Arturo handed out five Finsside memberships. Appreciate you, Arturo, for expanding the Finsside fam. Do y’all think they run Mink in the Nickel? I think he will see some reps in the in the nickel 110%.
With Ashton Davis, for sure.
Yeah, for sure. Um, we got the free safety who spent five years trying to replace. I mean, good point. But hey, we we Javon Holland looked like he was going to be a top safety in the NFL before he left his knees in Metife and now we’ve upgraded. So, I’ll take it, man. If we circling back the wagon ends up, you know, benefiting us, I’m good. Uh, Neil, you got about a minute here. Final thoughts, brother?
No, man. Hey, look. They I I got to love the Dolphins for taking us on a non-stop ride that has so many twist and turns. Ma Fitzpatrick’s back. I am ecstatic to see that. I love Minka. With Minka for me, it was instant greatness. And as a fan of teams like the Capitals, the Orioles, the Dolphins, the Wizards, I don’t get a lot of moments to experience instant greatness with young players. I usually have to be patient. I got a little bit of it with Gunnar Henderson, which was I got it with Ovkin, but like man like Minka from day one that pick six against Minnesota. I’ll never forget that play like that to me like I am through the moon and no matter what this team does, it will be enjoyable to see Ma back there. Welcome back, Ma. Man, I I speak for many that we’re so pumped to have him back. What a what a great football player. And I think the Dolphins are a better team with Minka roaming around the back than they are with Jaylen Ramsey anywhere near this team.
Hey man, you watched the Ravens. You saw him making plays, you know, hunting down Lamar Jackson and stopping him for four yard gain when there was nothing but feel behind Minka. If he was washed, he would have made not made that play. So, I can’t wait. I think we got a guy who’s going to help us against Josh Allen and stuff better than what Javon Holland was. So, I can’t wait to see. I’m I’m there with you, man. We won that trade and no one can tell me different. So guys, smash that like button. Over 500 of you watching. Appreciate each and every one of you and I know Neil does as well. Um, listen, if breaking news happens on the 4th of July, I’ll be back here. But otherwise, enjoy your fourth and I’ll be back soon. Until then, you already know what time it is. Fins up all day, every day. I appreciate each and every one of you. Smash that like button, subscribe if you’re new. We’ll see you on the next one. Who else here, all of a sudden is jacked about the season, with future Hall of Fame Safety Minka Fitzpatrick?!?👇
The 5th and Minkah was a great return in my opinion. The bringing in waller out of retirement and multiple year of injuries makes zero sense.
Take a look at cap update from Kyle crabbs outstanding
Minka and Kohoe are going to be the vets of the defensive back field…We have great leadership in that backfield now…We also have great leadership on the dline with Seiler, Chubb, and Phillips…We have real team leadership and players on defense..I believe this is going to be the best team under McDaniels…We are going to have a tough and gritty dline and online this year….As long as injuries stay at a minimum…
We got a team leader in minkah and got rid of a diva….We don't want players that are all about themselves, we want gritty team players…
Minkah is the ten times the player Holland is…Holland was one of the worst safeties in the league last year, yet he got premium dollars for his play 3 years ago..We got a massive upgrade at safety….
I love the Waller addition…Bro probably took a year off and cleared him mind, took an HGH cycle, and came back healed and rejuvenated 🔥
11-6
With a corner and great pass rush every game we will win bc we will score points

Great show!!!
Mink is filling a hole for Grier this not a set up to be great. Calias Campbell was a good hole filler last year but not great for anyone. The secondary is completely deficient we can read into stories all we want Grier sucks.
