And uh it’s going to start right here with this match up between the Miami Marlins and the Milwaukee Brewers from Lone Depot Park as you got Sandy Alcantra getting the start for the Miami Marlins and Quinn Pier getting the nod for the Milwaukee Brewers. And the Miami Marlins, you know, had a great showing against the Minnesota Twins, at least a very competitive showing, I should say. And that was, you know, after their sweep of their road trip. So, got to give the Marlins their credit and they were able to win the series against the Twins on Thursday. The problem that I have is that, you know, the Miami Marlins, were they punching a little bit above their pay grade? Were they were they playing a little bit above themselves? Maybe. And now you send Sandy Alcantra to the mound who gave us glimpses of the Alcantra that we’ve come to expect over the last few years. Early on in the month of June and basically I would say for the better part of the month of June pitched fairly well. I mean Alcantra had gone the first what 11 starts of the year getting roughed up more often than not. And then you know for the first four starts in the month of June he had had three of the four starts go six innings. All those were quality outings. A 2.74 erra and then comes out and it’s like no no I’m still Sandy that you know I mean that you’ve seen for much of the year. Seven runs on 10 hits over six innings of work against an Arizona team at home. Now granted the Miami Marlins came back to win that game eight to7 in 10 innings. But keep in mind that’s also a Marlins uh excuse me a Diamondback team that been known for hitting right-handed pitching very well for much of the season. And you know that they got to San Die Contra in that game. And the Milwaukee Brewers over the last two weeks have been even better against right-handed pitching. I mean, they’re hitting .285 in the last two weeks against right-handed pitching. You know, their team OPS numbers are top 10 in baseball. The isolated power numbers are above league average. So, I think that this is a a scary spot for Sandy Alcantra. On the other side, like I said, you’ve got the Miami Marlins who have been playing very well. They’re hitting 287 against righties in the last two weeks. And Quinn Prester, you know, he’s he’s got a big task against him here. But Priest’s coming off a start where he struck out 11 against the Rockies. I get it. It’s the Rockies, but still 11 strikeout performance is very impressive nonetheless. And more often than not, Quinn Pierers’s been solid on the road this season. You know, to the tune of a 3.66 ERA across eight games, six starts on the road this season. you’d like to see the opponent’s batting average come down from 278, but still I have my concerns that even though the Marlins hit well that the they may hit well, but the run production isn’t necessarily going to be there. And you look at the thing for the Marlins and with Sandy Alcantra pitching is that this has kind of been the problem for Alcantra for the better part of his career is that he he can pitch as well as he wants, but there’s been times where he just doesn’t get the run support that he needs to be able to win games. I call it Jacob Deg Grom syndrome, Sandy Alcantra syndrome, and I worry that could be the same here. Like I said, is Quinn Priest a world beater? Absolutely not. But I think he’s going to be good enough in this game to be able to get the Brewers the victory on the road here. And that for me, the Brewers also have just a much better bullpen as well when it when it comes down to it. So, give me the Brewers in this one and that’s going to be my free pick.
