Does Eklund Make the Lineup? This a realistic day 1 lineup?

  1. I didn’t add D bc it’s less interesting. Seems like just a question if Schaefer makes it. Would Aitcheson be able to play right D?

  2. No Eklund isn’t ready. No Aitchenson won’t play RD. Schaefer might (but might not) make the team.

  3. Swap Tsyp and Heineman. That line was buzzing at the end of the season last year

  4. Honestly I’d love to see Holmstrom have a shot on the second line with Barzal and Shabanov so swap him with Lee. I think he has another level to get to and playing there can unlock it

  5. How is there any real chance that Schaefer makes the team? Kid is 18 and barely played last year.

  6. So Calum Ritchie is not getting a shot at all? A few months ago, this sub had him penciled in for second-line center, and now his name is barely mentioned. I thought the Nelson trade was good because he was poised to step into the league.
I think this fall is going to have a lot of guys fighting for a spot. It’s cool that we have depth finally, but it sucks that we are stalling someone from coming up because there’s suddenly a log jam at center. Maybe Darche thinks that Ritchie needs more AHL time? Has anyone heard about his development?

  7. why is everyone so high on Shabanov being instantly top 6? I mean he kinda has to play there in a technical sense, but I would be hesitant of him just being somewhat in and out of the lineup, its cool, fun, and all, but I would temper some expectations and give him time to learn the National League

  8. No Eklund is 2-3 years away. He’s going to do 1 more year in the SEL and then needs and AHL year to get used to the North American ice
