BRAVO, STEVE YZERMAN (ANOTHER RED WINGS MOVE) + OILERS SIGN EVAN BOUCHARD TO MASSIVE EXTENSION
well leave it to Cam Robinson to go out with the breaking bombs here we have ourselves a bouch bomb as the Edmonton Oilers have resigned Evan Buchard to a 4-year $10.5 million AAV deal ladies and gentlemen Evan Buchard is an 8digit defenseman and now with this deal in place we have a new core four in the National Hockey League between Evan Bousard and his 10.5 Conor McDavid and his 12.5 Leon Dryidle and his 14 and the last one in that core four oh you already know baby it is Darnell Nurse with him and his 9.25 yeah lots of guys going out here getting paid in Edmonton and now that Marner ended up leaving Toronto and John took a discount in Toronto that core 4 it’s not a thing anymore it’s a thing of the past now a different Canadian franchise has the core 4 but let’s go over onto Evan Bousard talk about some of his statistics talk about the signing and then we’ll talk about the Red Wings too because there was a second Detroit Red Wings contract handed out that I wanted to dive into in this video the Oilers according to Dom Lucian’s model are getting a fantastic deal on Evan Bousard who is one of the games best offensive defenseman dom’s model says that Bousard is getting about uh let’s just say $2.3 million less compared to what he’s actually worth his market value is 12.8 million but his actual contract is 10.5 now I know a lot of folks would go out there and start lambasting Buchard for the moments where his game does not look 10.5 or 12.8 million caliber there are definitely moments where Bousard does not look great where a few turnovers lead to some bad goals against and where he just doesn’t make the right defensive read but Evan Buchard is one of the games best offensive D and I don’t think anybody can necessarily disagree with that oh he plays with McDavid oh he plays with Dryside oh yada yada yada we all understand that you kind of need to be a good defenseman to be able to consistently produce at over a point per game in the playoffs the last three years 67 points in 82 games this most recent season and 82 points in 81 games last year evan Buchard no doubt about it is a top tier offensive dynamo but 10.5 yeah that’s kind of a lot and it’s indicative as to the modern status of NHL contracts and the salary cap picture of today if we head over to NHL players who are making money where can I find this uh cap players if I just Oh player dashboard that’s the first thing okay let’s go to find players let’s do starting season no 25 26 and then we will go to defenseman can we look at uh how do we do this is there a number here uh ah here on the side that’s exactly what it is let’s do defense and take a look at this so Eric Carlson 11.5 Drew Dowy 11 Dolly 11 bousard this the fourth most expensive defenseman in the National Hockey League making 1 million more than Zack Warinski which is uh h I don’t know how I feel about that 1 million more than Charlie Makavoy 1 million more than Adam Fox than Noah Dobson he’s making more than nurse of course kale Macar making nine absolute steal quinn Hughes making 78 absolute steal she Weber is in the final year of a 14-year contract so whoopde-doo good for him but either way Evan Buchard fine defenseman he’ll be sticking around in Edmonton for the next four years that seems to be the plan but he isn’t the only guy that I wanted to talk about in this signing commentary today i also wanted to dive into the Detroit Red Wings because they had just signed Albert Johansson earlier this morning we already made a video about that but they also grabbed themselves some burgers bergie is what they tweeted out here the Detroit Red Wings have signed Yonathan Bergen to a one-year contract with an AAV of $1.825 million now we had already spoken about the Albert Johansson contract and how that was actually really reasonable two years for Aljo as a top four defenseman that’s not bad especially at slightly over a million bucks I like that a lot but for Jonathan Bergrren I’m not going to go out there and say that the contract is similarly valued that it’s as good i think Bergrren of course has a longer body of work with the Detroit Red Wings thus jacking up that AAV a little bit but my I don’t know if it’s like a concern but the thing that I’m thinking about mostly is the fact that Stevie Y was even able to sign Bergen in the first place yes he had a fine season 24 points 75 games played sure he was more productive two seasons ago with Detroit with 28 points and 67 games but I’m thinking about last year where Yonathan Bergrren with the six points he had in 12 games with the regular Red Wings i’m thinking about how this guy wanted out so bad how the Red Wings were not giving him an opportunity he didn’t like being in the AHL he thought he was better than that and he inevitably was involved in all these trade rumors everybody was talking about “Oh Jonathan Bergren’s going to get moved he’s the default trade ship for Detroit he doesn’t want to be here anymore he wants a new opportunity this and that and the other thing to go from that to him signing a reasonable contract as a middle six forward to potentially replace Vladimir Terasenko’s minutes that is pretty good character development if I do say so myself 1.8 million for a guy who could reasonably get 20 to 30 points on the year he was on pace for half a point a game in 23-24 whilst dominating in the AHL but I don’t know if we could really take this season into account as to his NHL projectability but if Yonathan Bergen gets 30 points next year as a decent middle six guy with some wheels and some underrated playmaking all at $1.8 million a year that’s pretty good i get that you’re going to have to do the entire ressigning process all over again with Bergen a year from now but I think that’s a fine problem to have he’s a young guy he’s only 24 years old he’ll be turning 25 in just a few days here so early happy birthday to Yonathan Bergen I guess but the Detroit Red Wings doing some tidy business here with these two Swedes getting new deals steve Eisermanman making some hot signings once again and that’s why I wanted to talk about in this video here obviously the Evan Bousard stuff is also pretty big but for now let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about both of these contract signings how the Oilers resigned Buchard to a huge $10.5 million AAV extension for four years and how do you feel about Jonathan Bergen getting a one-year deal at 1.825 825 million a year thoughts in the comments section below it’s all going to be there for you we will I I don’t know if I will say we’re going to make some more videos about what happens i mean there are some other contracts that were just signed levy Marilinan was signed steven Lorent was signed qualifying offer guys and stuff ivan Provarov was just signed so was Andre Kusmano i don’t know if I really want to make videos about that though i wanted to talk about Edmonton and Detroit but yeah we’ll see what happens later on at today’s show anyways let me know in the comments all your opinions about these two conversations in particular booard and Bergen double B’s in Detroit and Edmonton i hope you enjoyed this video 999 and bye

This Is A W Sign For The Oilers
Like it for Detroit
man they gotta buy out nurse already
Bergrren is softer than puppy 💩.
Who cares,
the Wings are going to miss the playoffs 10yrs straight 😞
Really curious how bergy got over 1.25
imagine thinking cam robinson broke a story 🤣
Toronto Maple Leafs can you say Hello Connor McDavid
Oilers gonna have 50 mill wrapped up in 4 players.
I like the bergy signing .. he has the most points in a rookie season in Grand Rapids, and that includes some really good players .. he just needs some playing minutes and he’ll start putting up points in the NHL and at 1 year .. he’s being given a chance to raise his trade value or land a bigger contract.
This is Berggren's make-it-or-break-it contract. He has to take a step, or I sincerely doubt he finishes the season with us.
Detroit got Kane back for $3Mil 1 year.
that signing by the Oilers. the gm should have his head examined for paying that much . Oilers are the old leafs .Too much cap on four players that can't win in the finals
Hopefully mcdavid leaves
Brutal signing @10.5 😂😂😂 for a guy that is good offensively but can’t play defense… so much for a discount
Bouchard btw most of his points come off draisatl and Mcdavid … stick him in Detroit or Columbus his much u figure he’s worth?
Making more than werenski 😂
Red Wings sign JVR Gustav Nykvist and Maby Palat
lol dude what…… you said Bouchard is one of the best OFD in the league…?? lmao you must not have watched one bit of playoffs bud. cause i can tell you rn that guy ain’t even worth 8m / a year… as a matter of fact id say ATLEAST 25% of the goals FL scored, he was responsible for. talk about “one of the best OFD” dude can barely make a break out pass. lmfao
