Sacramento CAN’T win between A’s, Oakland, Vegas drama?
here’s Brody Brazil just wanted to clear up something here real quick i have been using a voicemail line the same one a 510 number for so many years but now I’ve switched over so you might still see that old number just get rid of it take this one instead it’s the brand new one it’s the one I’ll be moving forward with 833 for Brody you know the way this works anytime you’ve got something on your mind you want to share you think it makes for a good video topic idea or discussion send it my way leave me a voicemail 24/7 i never actually pick up the phone it goes straight to voicemail i listen to all of them and I get to them just like this
hi my name is Jesse Dendale i live in Modesto California so I have this problem with the A’s since I live in Modesto um I know I should be hurt that they left Oakland but like Sacramento’s close to me so I don’t feel that hurt so how do I handle the other Ace fans jesse thanks for the call that’s quite the predicament i could tell it in your voice can’t see you while you’re talking but I could kind of feel that over the phone that you really don’t know how to feel maybe you don’t have that previous connection to Oakland but I think there are some things you can relate with i’ll explain in just a second i also understand the geography between Modesto and Sacramento both in California’s central valley not far from each other so you you feel more connected to Sacramento than you ever did to Oakland totally understand that let me just start by by saying this in terms of A’s fan complications and all the different ways to feel my reminder has always been this i’m never here to tell you what to do i want to say and I’d like to hope that most fans who still support the team or have gone entirely away from the team or don’t know how to feel if you can just explain your feelings and why you’re doing what you’re doing and there’s a good explanation for it like if you can really think through the thoughts and talk them out and explain them that’s totally fine with me and if you stand by them I’ve got nothing more to say there is no playbook for all of this i do realize that the A’s are not the only Major League Baseball team to ever relocate obviously they came from Philly to Kansas City and then Kansas City to Oakland but we’re living in different times modern times this just doesn’t happen a lot in modern baseball it hadn’t happened uh in about 20some years and it’s only happened now once or twice in the last 56 years there is no playbook for all of this so I’m not here to say there are rules or you should do this or you can’t do that doesn’t go that way for me but I do want to remind you that if you don’t understand the Oakland side of it or if you can’t relate to it there might be something that you would understand a little bit better here the Modesto Nuts the one-time A’s Single Affiliate I know they’ve been an affiliate of a lot of different teams they’ve been playing professional baseball in Modesto for a lot of years did you know this is their last summer in Modesto the ownership group of a bunch of minor league teams is moving a bunch of different things around and they couldn’t get a new stadium deal they couldn’t get the fixes to that ballpark in Modesto couple million dollars of upgrades for clubouses and field conditions and the city wasn’t in on it or they just couldn’t get it together team said maybe they would pay for it but they could not strike a deal bottom line is the Modesto nuts are leaving after this summer and that’s awful for fans of baseball in Modesto it was right around the corner it was in their backyard games had been fairly well attended over the decades and so if you can’t relate with that I mean this is happening in your hometown baseball’s being taken away because two sides couldn’t get the business part together and I’m not here to point fingers and and lay blame on one side or the other it’s always complicated in these scenarios sometimes the fault is all one way sometimes the fault is all the other way sometimes it’s a shared blame but the point is if you’re not sad about the minor league baseball team leaving Modesto and you can’t understand the like the correlation of a major league team leaving Oakland after 57 years and why people in the Bay Area are upset you at least need to relate to that or understand that part of it i’m not saying you can’t enjoy Sacramento i’m not saying you can’t you know collaborate with Sacramento fans and feel some of the excitement that some of them have it’s totally okay but I also want you to realize that playing in Sacramento for these three maybe four seasons who knows like literally who knows there’s a big difference between like really playing in Sacramento and wearing the name across your chest and and putting that Sacramento name out there on television graphics and on scoreboards and kind of waving the Sacramento flag that is really playing in Sacramento and repping Sacramento versus using Sacramento like a Motel 6 and you just need to stay there for a couple nights to get you on your way to the next stop down the road there is a huge difference there and look some fans are okay with that they’re okay with the transactional situation they understand what it’s all about i think right now there’s a lot of people invested in the hope that Major League Baseball is either going to stay in Sacramento or that this is an audition for Sacramento for a future expansion team of Major League Baseball and let me just stop anybody right there if you think number one that this truly is an audition or if you think this audition is going so swimmingly well right now and I’m not blaming Sacramento for that i’m just saying I don’t know if either of those two things are happening or happening to the degree necessary for the end result to actually come so I’m just making the point here that if you can understand the Oakland side and you can realize what the Sacramento side is and you’re still okay with that then I won’t stop anyone from enjoying their moment some people in Sacramento have always loved baseball they’ve always supported the Rivercats as the A’s affiliate of AAA at one point and now the Giants affiliate at the AAA level and now they’re just getting to see something different it’s going to last a couple years i know we’re just kind of settling in on this whole temporary deal there are two more full seasons at least at that ballpark and crowds that aren’t full and it hasn’t even got hot yet and some complications to come with it and some complaints about the ballpark and its playing surface and its clubhouse conditions and its media tent and all that stuff i’m I’m going to stop right there i’m not going to tell anybody what to do i only want you to understand the entirety of the situation as best you can and like I said before if you can just explain how you’re feeling and why you’re going that way and there’s a good reason totally fine with me so I don’t know if that answers the question of how to mingle with fellow Sacramento fans i just want you entirely educated about it and if you can move on happily after that then more power to you let me know what you think about all this in the comments section below also thumbs up while you’re down there helps me the video and the channel don’t forget to hit that subscribe button i’d love to see you back here next time and if you want to jump in on this voicemail fun 8334 Brody it’s open right now

The A’s should stay in Sacramento
$30 million that the Modesto Nuts were asking for stadium upgrades. Funny thing is that Oakland was easier to get to then Sacramento from modesto. Bart and you're there.
When a team relocates because it isn’t ’working’ at their location, as a fan you can understand. If the A’s make billions in Vegas, it will make sense in the grand scheme. But when a team moves and they are the same or worse than they’ve been, it begs the question. Loved my A’s for years. Rickey is the GOAT. But it seems like the ownership wants to make a clean break so they are just an expansion team in my eyes at this point.
How is a team with the history of the A's the vagabond team of the sport? Philly-KC-Oak-Sac-LV?. Cubs – White Sox – Red Sox etc 1 place. Closest would have been the Braves but they are not going anywhere. How many years before they leave Vegas? Dont laugh I could see them leave. Low crowds = complaining starting = another city swoops in ……
Sacramento is the big winner , they get to get rid of the A’s and Fisher …Las Vegas is the big loser they are stuck with them
I live in the Modesto area. I’ve been going to Oakland to watch games for 40 years. I’ve now gone to Sacramento for some games. I prefer Oakland any day of the week and twice on Sundays for several reasons. First, ticket prices in Sacramento are about 3 x more than they were in Oakland Second the traffic jams getting in and out of Sutter park’s narrow streets and highway 50 construction is way worse than anything in Oakland. Third the parking lot at Sutter is a terrible pregame atmosphere. There is no alcohol allowed in the parking lot, hence there is no tailgating (no fun). Plus the wind makes the dirt gravel parking lot a dust bowl. It’s even more uncomfortable when you combine the dust with heat. Who likes dust sticking to perspiration? Fourth the parking at Sutter is more expensive than Oakland. Oakland was $30, Sacramento is $40. Lastly, the majority of the fans going to Sacramento are from the opposing team. I felt like I was the only A’s fan in my section at the Yankees game at Sutter park. I’m not going to start on concessions because I’m still paying $18 for a beer. I had hoped Fisher would lower that cost at a smaller park, but no he is a greedy SOB. I would much rather be watching my team play in Oakland.
Please stop with this voicemail shit
I'm not supporting the A's because I'm a Giants fan and the fact that the A's don't want to associate with Sacramento. They need to get out of our city.
Any negativity needs to be directed at only one source- JOHN FISHER. Stop bashing Sacramento, the stadium, the people, the fans, the River Cats. No one in Sacramento asked for this. JOHN FISHER is BAD. BAD.
The distance from Oakland to Modesto and Sacramento to Modesto is basically the same
Going back to the Haas Family, the A's tried to build a new Stadium, even trying to share one with the Giants. Fremont, San Jose, Howard Terminal, new Stadium at the Coliseum I mean you can only be rejected so many times before you move on.
If you enjoy watching the A's in Sacramento it shouldn't matter that other people are angry they left Oakland.
If your a true A's fan, a true fan, it shouldn't be any difference if they play in Oakland, Sacramento, Vegas, Kansas City or Philadelphia. I'm a Packers fan and Owner living 45 years in New Orleans. As a kid we would drive 175 miles to Packer Games in mid 60's. Never close to a Saints fan, living 1 mile from their home and training facility paid for be taxpayer money.
Are the Sacramento, San Joaquin, and Central Valleys the same? I'm asking. I don't really know…Let me make an abrupt analogy here. Sacramento is the proverbial transitional "girlfriend" between an ex-wife and a fool's aspirational wife waiting for the would-be groom to get his 💩💩 together…Sac isn't even a second choice. The Orphan A's are freeloaders. Period…
The only energy in the stadium is die hard A's fans yelling let's go Oakland! We chant it too! Half of the stadium is filled by non A's fans
Brodie I invite you out to a Sacramento A's game. Ill even pay for your ticket and buy you a braut.
The phone number doesn’t make sense. Where is the rest of the numbers how will i know what number to call if I don’t have the correct number or right number?
Major Mullet Arena vibes with the Athletics stadium situation at Sutter Health. What happens if the new Vegas stadium is ready for 2028? Do you go back to Sacramento for one more year even if the Athletics half fill a minor league stadium for 3 years? Play outside in Vegas at an AAA stadium? You can’t go back to Oakland for sure.
I went to the Athletics game this week and observed few things. It is SURREAL to attend a sporting event where the team and the stadium won't acknowledge the home city. Sacramento is treated like the "S" word. It's as if the game is taking place in alternative reality. When the crowd organically begins to chant "Lets go Oakland" they are immediately drowned out by loud music from the PA system. It couldn't be a coincidence. When I was in the team shop, people would constantly ask the salespeople if there was any merch with "Sacramento" and "A's" on it. There was none. As for the ticket, I paid $30 on Seatgeek. On A's website, that seat goes for $120. Ticket resellers are taking a bath right now. I wonder how many season ticket holders will be renewing next year. It's such a shame because Sacramento will support THEIR team no matter the record. Just look at their incredible sell out streak for the Sacramento Kings even when the team wasn't competitive. If the A's showed them just a little bit of love to Sacramento, they would get it back 10x
I didn't know Modesto was losing their A team. That one sucks. A ball is a great way to watch future major leaguers. St. Catharines, Ontario used to be the A-ball home of the Baby Jays way back in the day. I remember watching Steve Karsay make his first start at Community Park in 1990. It's cool to be able to have a memory of something like that, and I suspect native Modestinians or whatever they call themselves have similar memories.
Philadelphia
Not a fan but I do find it kinda sad when I look at the advertisements on the uniforms of MLB teams and the A's one is a slap in the face to Sacramento.
Feel bad for the A's fans of Oakland and Sacramento.
Hopefully this never happens again to an MLB franchise.
The Nuts have played 60 seasons in Modesto. That includes their time as the Modesto Reds 1966-1974 and 1946-1961, the Modesto Colts for 3 yrs, and the Modesto A's 1975-2004, before they became the Modesto Nuts in 2005. With that said, MLB games have been here since 1946. To see that leave behind 11 championship s in this city is disheartening. Unlike the A's they've been a great ball club to the city. Not like Oakland where they trade all the good players for crappy ones.
Sorry to be so blunt but all the Bay Area will get is NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS. Better than some cities but that the Bay Area ceases to have two MLB teams is anything but surprising. In the sports world, SF/SJ/Oakland don't rank highly.
They should play & permanently move to Utah ,Vegas is a Hockey/Gambling town
⚾
Yep they are just a rest stop.
A's will stay in Sacramento
Baseball politics aside…its just another source of entertainment in the city and I love that for Sacramento…wish they could pack the place out but the team is getting back the same energy they are putting into it…seems like they would of taken advantage of the people who want to spend their money on "SACRAMENTO ATHLETICS " merch but they struck out on that too
John Fisher just needs to be forced by MLB to sell the A's!! Utah is ready with the Miller Group and they would be welcomed by Utah with incredible ownership!!
A's had an official ground breaking for their new stadium. So, waiting for the video on it.
A’s should stay in sac and build a new stadium on the water in West Sac. Build the stadium in Vegas for an expansion team
Your right. The fans don’t know what cheer to chant. I hear Let’s go Oakland – and I am good with that. I haven’t heard Let’s Go A’s – but we will evolve.
I’m proud of my City- Sacramento
IS THERE ANY WAY SACRAMENTO CAN BE A "WINNER" IN ALL THIS…?

I’m still an A’s fan, and that’s how I tell people which teach I root for. “I’m still an A’s fan,” which means despite all that’s occurred, they’re still my team… reluctantly.
I truly believe the A’s could’ve moved and done so in a way that didn’t throw the fans and franchise under the bus. For me, it’s not that they’re moving, it’s HOW they’re moving that’s upset me in this.
Been saying it since the A's came to Sacramento. There's NO SCENARIO in which the A's stay here. Either they go to Vegas. or Vegas fails and either Lacob buys them. Or SLC gets them. That's it. Sacramento isn't happening.
