What’s wrong with which Catcher to have Maile be the guy?

Injury: Left calf tightness
Expected return: Day to day
Status: Tweaked calf on an awkward swing on July 3. Served as the designated hitter on July 4, and team will likely have him DH and play first for next couple of days. (updated: July 4)
Why a third catcher?
I saw Maile play in spring training and he looked pretty good. Seen him a few times in AAA
Carter seems like a better prospect but I get why they’d want to keep him in AAA a while. Prepping a big league catcher takes some time. He needs to prove he’s a good pitch caller as well as a good catcher
Royals: “Mr Waters, every time we call you up and sit you on the bench, you don’t produce. Why is that?:
Waters: “I’m not sure sir. Maybe if I played?”
Royals: “That is a negative. You will not play until you have enough lazy ground balls and ground into double-plays. BACK TO OMAHA!!:
Maile gonna put that 2025 OPS+ of 246 at risk if he plays
Why would Q do this
