Fast ball found the mark right there. Myers down on strikes. One gone in the first. Hooks this ball to left center field. Pah on the run. Turns and launches it hit off the very top of the wall. Plays it with a bare hand and guns it in. Elu’s in safely. It’s been their best guy in these situations. 353 with runners in scoring position. Scorches one down to third Hernandez grabs it. A high throw but a tall first baseman. Eluve to third. Two gone. Pokes the first one. He sees into right field. And boy does he love hitting a Dodger Stadium or what? He has struggled mightily in an Astros uniform, but he comes here to get right. Sounds like one of your favorites. You’ve seen him there. Chopper Mooky Bats and the first, but the Astros get two against Kasparius. And the Dodgers grounded to third for Parades. He’ll go to second for one over to first double play.
543 and the bases wipe clean. There’s a weapon in that 2017 World Series run. He gets a strike out of Freddy Freeman and faces the minimum here in the first. Jeremy Pñena who’s been one of the best players in the league this year and Alvarez as we mentioned and pretty much a whole pitching staff. Pah in center field runs this one down and Diaz is the first out of the second just tries to foul it off until he gets a mistake. Bangs this one to right center field but Task Hernandez will put it away. Middle two, two to nothing. The complete player hooks a fly ball to deep left center field. Back goes Trel. Back goes the ball and it’s gone. Will Smith does it again, continuing his slugging surge and the Dodgers are on the board in the second. This guy’s something. He is really good. [Applause] Bouncing ball towards the middle. Alt gets there. Dives for the bag to get Pah. Jake Meyers leads off this third against Ben Kasparius whose first pitch is hit down the line and a fair ball. Astros coming out aggressive against Kasparius and Meyers streaks into second with a leadoff double. Got a shot at 3000. Back spins this fly ball to left center field. It carries well and it carries over the wall for a home run. Eluve with a two-run shot. The Astros with a 4-1 lead. [Applause] Two extra base hits off of two breaking balls. Veterans have slumps. Hit hard to deep center field. Pah on the run will turn and launch this one wedge itself in the bottom of the wall. And Cam Smith flying into second, anchoring there with another extra base hit for the Astros. Double homer double. All these different initials I got to learn.
There’s another drive to deep left field and Christian Walker does it again at Dodger Stadium. A six consecutive game here where he’s found the seats and they are pummeling Kasperius because they’ve got six different starters on the injured list. Diaz smokes one to right center. They’re going after the first pitch just about every at bat and hitting it hard. He’ll test the arm of Hernandez. Throw to second. Not in time. It’s a double for Diaz. And it’s the fifth extra base hit of this inning. Has made it more than once. Hernandez slashes a ball right center field headed for the gap. A diving catch by Jake Meyers. What a play for the first out of the third on this one from McCullers. He bangs it up the middle. Ricochets off him to short and Duban who triggers a throw, but it’s not in time. Fun baseball play to watch right there. Then he just hoped that McCullers is okay. Oh, they’re going to say that Dubon actually caught this ball on the fly. It never hit the ground. It hit him on the foot on a 2-1. Tay Oscar grounds one up the middle. Tub in shadows center field does not have a great arm but gets it there in time and the inning is over. Dodgers one of them from this guy in Isach Paredus who homered on the very first pitch of the game. That’s a diving stop by Kika Hernandez and from his knees maximum distance corner to corner in the infield gets Parades. Wherever you put him there’s a chance he could win a gold glove. He doesn’t play enough
of Tommy Edmond Kik Hernandez. Miguel Rojos. Kik Hernandez making his case to make it a bunch of Kik. Wow. Two up and two down. There goes L2. They’ve got him picked off. Try applied by Tommy Edmond. Scores fourth for Jack D. Flies it the other way. Hernandez goes back. Twists around the track. He can’t catch it. got all twisted up and in a ball that he should have caught ends up putting a man at second base. Two on, two out and an 02 from Drier. Hmel swats one through the right side. That’s a base hit. Keratini set it home. Hernandez trying to make up for it. Throw to the plate, not in time. Keratini’s in safe and Cooper Hmel with a two out, two strike pinch hit RBI single. [Applause] Let’s take a peek. [Applause] Just kind of pushes going away to Boston for a few years. Tua and a hit the other way. Station to station. It’s eight to one. got away from him and hit him. You’re trying to throw the best breaking ball in your life and it slips out. [Applause] Highfly ball right center field. Back goes Hernandez. That is a grand slam. Second of the week for Victor Keratini. This one’s gotten ugly. Mhm. Ugly early. [Applause] Yeah. Now Yanner Diaz popping this one into foul ground. And Freddy Freeman’s got it for the first out. One of the six for the Astros. Hernandez a running throw. It’s a wide throw and it’s 14 to one. Driven the other way. Hernandez back running out of room. Second home run of the game for Jos Altuve. No one is leaving the ballpark and usually they do with the scoreboard at 17-1 but there is an extravaganza of fireworks after this game. That’ll do it for the six. Astro scored 10 runs in the inning. [Applause] off the hands left side of the diamond for Paradis. It’ll send this game to the seven.
Athleticism on the field. Baseball is a beautiful game, but you definitely want this one to end. That’s a tough play.
Yeah, Stewie Ruiz with a good effort. Can’t get there. Throw goes into second. Keratini. The Cardinals scored 11 runs. Diaz pokes it towards the right field corner. Ruiz runs it down and score is Walker. [Applause] Q’s one right side. Don’t rush him. Playing first base. Beats him to the bag. Speed him up. Slow him down. Hey, could be two. Rushing to second. One over to first. Double play, baby. Weak contact. [Applause] Bounces second. Tommy Edmund will throw over to first. How about that? A scoreless inning for Miguel Rojas. Leaping grab by Christian Walker. And fitting that a game at Dodger Stadium ends in his glove.
Dodgers have won seven series in a row. They’re going to have to win the next two games against the Astros to continue that string.
