Giants vs. A’s Game Highlights (7/4/25) | MLB Highlights
Fourth of July weekend kicking off right here in West Sacramento.
This will be the first time that these two teams will play here in Sacramento. Well, the Giants have won two straight. They win the last two games in Arizona. The real story, Mike, is we’ve heard the old expression, win-win for the Gipper. Well, around here, it’s win-win one for Verlander.
He does not have a win. It’s the third straight Fourth of July that JP Sears has taken the baseball
on the bump. In the last two starts on Fourth of July, the A’s victorious
and Ramos would lead it off for the Giants.
High drive right center field, but it’s in the park. And on the warning track is Clark and he makes the catch. So here’s Willamus. Had a nice ball game last night in the desert.
Here’s the 3-2 and strike three. JP getting it inside in the zone. And that’s the first strike out for JP. Second out. Well, this will not be the first time Debors has ever faced Sears.
He’s been struggling as a Giant.
Yeah. 16 games he’s bounding just 210
in the 3-2. This one lifted in the air. Shallow left field. Marcy’s going back and he’ll be met by Soderstrom who dives to the ground and makes the catch. Three up, three down. And a nice start for the A’s defense.
On the hill tonight for the Giants will be the veteran Justin Berlander. Verlander 6’5, 240 pounder. Today marks the anniversary of when he ma made his major league debut. That’s pretty incredible when you go back in time 20 years ago to a young Justin Verlander with big eyes, the bright lights on him. And now you fast forward, he has made this career for himself and yet no wins to show for it. 262 wins delivers. It’s a ground ball to the hole and threw into right for a base hit.
So a leadoff single for Butler and the A’s. bring up the guy who’s going to remarkably start the All-Star game for the American League. The rookie Jacob Wilson.
Little roller to second where Fitzgerald Fitzgerald will make the play and Butler moves into scoring position.
Sluggy right-handed hitter, 18 home runs for Rooker.
Rooker, it’s a line drive and threw into left center for a hit. Butler had to wait. He’s going to third. They’re going to wave him. And now the ball is bobbled to left by Ramos. And so Butler has scored, winding up at second base as Rooker and the Athletics take a one- nothing lead. Al Rookie of the Month, Nick Curts up the middle and Fitzgerald will make the play. Got him. Finished it off the inning with a strike out. Tyler Soderstrom leads it off and into left field. An opposite field hit for Soderstrom and he’s going to truck towards second. Here comes the slide and in Soderstrom extra bases to lead it off here in the second.
Just a tough time coming up with it cleanly for Alio Ramos out there. Max 213, seven home runs. M had two home runs in the Tampa Bay series.
And Muny is going to continue his hit streak. This one into the gap in right center. Here comes Sodro. Maxy with an RBI double. Two nothing.
The fourth hit offer already. Zack Gellof up for the very first time here in 2025. It’s good to have Gellof back and it’s second base.
Not a prettiest pitcher for and he got a change up right exactly where he wanted to blow the strike zone. Lays off and he’ll walk on down to first. First and second for the Allstar Jacob Wilson coming up.
And Jacob Wilson out to left center. This is going to bounce and hit the wall. Here comes Maxy home. Getting waved. Behind him is Lauren Sputler. And Jacob Wilson has made it a 4 nothing game.
Just one of the many reasons Jacob Wilson will be the American League starting shortstop. That one hurts. Now has to face Rooker who had a base hit. And he’s going to get this through on the right side. Brent Rooker will drive in another run. Here comes Jacob Wilson. Rooker into second. A double for Rook to add to his game resume today.
First time in Reander’s career he’s given up four doubles in an inning.
So Tyler Soderstrom hit by a pitch. He’ll reach base for the second time here in the game. Sixgame hit streak going on for Max where he’s hit 412 over that time. He’s also scored six runs and this one’s fair into left field and Tyler Sodrom racing to third. Eric Martins is going to give him a stop sign. Maxy will have a double. Two for two. Two doubles today for my
second and third and one out for Zach Gellof. Gellof fly ball out to center field and Jung Hulie will make the catch. Sodrom will come home. Here comes the throw. It’s cut off by the short side. Back to second and the ball’s dropped.
But Muny got back safely. Sodestrom scores on the sacrifice fly.
Verlander out of the ball game right now.
I mean, you kind of feel for Justin Verlander still looking for his first Giants win. It’s not going to come tonight. 02 ground ball left side. Cutting over from third is Alcantra and it ticks off his glove and rolls away. This is a very sloppy game. 3-2 is called strike three. Nice fast ball right on the inside. Mason Black with a good inning. And this is off the glove of Muny. And Mats is on the move. And Mats is going to wisely put on the brakes.
All right, there’s your start. 3-2 pitch. Fitzgerald takes high ball four. So, good job Tyler Fitzgerald there after falling behind 02. And the Giants have two on with nobody out for the second straight inning. Bailey struck out his first time up.
Here’s the O2 and Bailey goes down.
Well, that is just an exceptional job from JP Sears moving the fast ball around in this at bat. goes outside with the fast ball for strikeout number five.
There’s the pitch and Zach Gillof gets cut off by Curts to second. Nobody there at first. So just the one play for the A’s. They will get Tyler Fitzgerald.
Well, here’s where you hope where you can get a pitch for Ramos to make this a 6-3 game.
The one two JP got him leaves two on.
So the Giants, that’s two innings in a row. Two on, nobody out and they have no runs to show for it.
Evers is popped out and struck out. Is roped into right center field. Going to be and now rolls up against the wall. Denvers will get into second base with a double.
Giants have not been able to cash in on the runner in scoring position. It’ll be left up to Jan Ho Lee.
2-1. This is a fly ball out to left field. Tyler Soders will jog to it.
So Jung Hu Lee is 0 for three and the Giants get another runner in scoring position but don’t score.
And here’s Denzel struck out in line now. Denzel to center field going back is Jung Hulie. Jung Hulie reaches up. It goes off his glove. And here is Denzel flying around the base path. It’ll be an easy triple. Jung Julie got the wrong directions cuz he was headed towards right center. Had to do a quick little turnabout. That
is a first major league triple for Denzel Clark. Butler looking to drive in another run here and make it lucky seven. And here’s the pitch and here’s the run. A line drive for Lawrence into center. Plated is Denzel Clark. And it is seven to nothing. Add a ribby to your night Lawrence.
Seven runs for the A’s. No runs for the Giants. That’ll bring up the AL Rookie of the Month in June. Nick Curts hammers one out to right field. Nick Curts with another home run. Number 13 on the season. The two-run shot makes it 9 to nothing. A
the route is very much on in West Sacramento. Nick Curtis celebrating being named the rookie of the month in the American League for June.
Park has struck out, lined out, and tripled. He tripled and scored in the six. Big fly ball deep to left field. Denzel Clark. Two-run shot for Denzel. And that adds to his day. 471 ft worth of homer.
Third home run for Denzel Clark. He’s got a triple and a homer in the game. Here’s Wisley in Adamus’ spot. Here’s a swing and a fly ball center field deep. Clark goes back. Clark is going to climb the wall, but it’s gone. Brett Wisley. And listen to Giants fans. They have waited all game for something, anything. And it’s Brett Wisley solo home run to make it 11 to one. The line drive to center field. In comes Denzel. And another catch.
Oh man. Denzel making dazzling play after dazzling play. A 10-run lead for the A’s as we go to the top of the ninth. Dominic Smith will pull up at second with a standup double.
It’s been a quiet night. And look, it happens in this sport. You don’t just get three hits every night. But Lee 0 for three. Two pitch. Lee pulls it on the ground to the right side over to knock it down. Kurts picks it up, throws to first behind Perkins. He gets away. Dom Smith is going to stroll home from third and he’ll score. Giants get their second run. It’s 11 to2 and I don’t know if they’ve charged an error on Kurts. Two down, Giants down to their final out and Sergio Alcantra. 112 A’s here in the ninth inning. That’s strike three. Perkins gets the job done. Add another save to the books. A very disappointing night for the Giants. They were dominated by the A’s here tonight in the first game of this series.

That was a very terrible game on 4th of July for us losing so badly. Let’s not play like that tomorrow 7/5 since Logan Webb will be the starting pitcher. We can better than that! Come on boys! Let’s see that win tomorrow. Happy Independence Day. Give it another try tomorrow.
Lets keep this up go A's💚🙌
When last time Justin Verlander win for Giants ?
Fire Verlander, fire the hitting coach – OMG. Losing to the gA's is like putting a man pretending to be a woman in a swimsuit and not being able to win NCAA Women's Swimming
I have to watch this video with the sound down because of DEI and wokism…and it has to be my team. I have bad luck.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10
Female broadcasters should be outlawed. How irritating she is
Im more concerned with Bailey 4 strikeouts and the overall year at the plate he’s had. Even his hits are just getting by defenders and not a lot of good contact. Looks like JV will have to wait till post all star to get his first sf win 🤦🏻♂️😅
Giants nine games back now! Verlander needs to retire as he is too old; a waste of money. Giants hitting has disappeared. Giants seem to play at the level of teams worse than them. It was an illusion to believe this team had a chance to compete with the Dodgers. Season is over and nothing left but for 49er training to start in several weeks now.
Max Muncy? Are they related???
I like butler's red white and blue eye black.
Peeps can the A's turn it around and go the distance? Like if you say yes! 🟢 👍
Let's go Denzel Clarke! And those fireworks were perfect in the background lol
The Giants looked horrible, what's going on
Never liked Verlander, especially not keen on when the SFG brought him to the Bay.
Hasn't proved me wrong, perhaps it's time to hang up the cleats.
And we still cannot hit nor handle the clubs we ought to
ifwe are going to make it in as a Wild Card.Go A's ! I've been a Fan since 1972
Ramos out there playing hot potato! 🤣
I think SF Defenders dont know how to catch the ball
여성캐스터 목소리가 스펙타클하네요😂😂❤❤
Denzel with home run of the year, 471 ft.
JP a beast
Girl, that’s not a save situation 😂
🧡🖤💛💚
That woman is the worst voice in baseball. She ended with "add another save to the books". Clearly doesn't know the sport.
that was a great game, saw the whole thing, lots of offense, JP Sears making his case to be traded to a contender, mammoth home runs from Kurtz and Clarke
happy 4th of July🎇🎆
all these electric home runs by the A’s are ruined by her play calling my god time to watch games on the opposing broadcast
SELL THE TEAM, JOHN FISHER!
