I can assure you that you’re uh going to be making some money and it’s going to start here with this matchup between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals. The Chicago Cubs sending out Jameson Tyion for the start in this one while the Cardinals will counter with Matthew Libra. At least Tyion is who is slated on ESPN to be getting the start here. We’ll have to see if that ends up proving to be the case. Hopefully, if that’s something that we can update for you on Saturday should we have the information. But like I said, we do know right now is that it is Matthew Liberator that’s getting the start for the Cardinals here. And Liberator coming off another solid start last time out. It was six innings of three hit shutout ball. You know, it’s the third straight quality start for Liberator and the third straight personally win for Liberator as well. He just faced the uh the Cubs, you know, just under uh just under two weeks ago. It was seven innings of two-run ball in what ended up being an 8-2 win for the St. Louis Cardinals in that series. And you know, the thing for me with the St. Louis Cardinals is that they got to be able to get on the board early in this game. I mean, this was a a Cardinals team that was shut out in their entire road series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. They were shut out in their last two games of the four game set against the Cubs early last week. So, you know, if the if the Cardinals can get on the board early, I think they could have, you know, at least some success in this matchup. And frankly, they’re going to have to because this is a Cubs bullpen that in the last seven days has been nothing short of lights out. I mean, a 0.43 erra out of the pen over the last seven days entering Friday’s action is just insane for the Chicago Cubs. Now, if it is Jame Tyion that gets the start here, you know, I like I said, I think that opens the door for the uh for the Cubs to have some success. Tyion hasn’t necessarily been at his best. He did give up eight runs on eight hits and three home runs when he faced the Cardinals at Bush Stadium in that same series. And you know, right now the Cardinals against right-handed pitching are still a solid lineup. You know, they’re top 10 in team OPS. The batting average is still around league average. The isolated power numbers are just outside the are top 10 as well. So, I think, like I said, if the Cardinals are going to win this game or at least give themselves a chance, they got to strike early. And Matthew Liberator, like I said, can be solid in this one. The Cubs are not the same, you know, team that they were early on this season when it came to hitting against left-handed pitching. Early on, through the first month or so of the season, maybe month and a half, the Cubs were elite. They were one of the best teams in baseball against lefties, but in the last two weeks, hitting just 216. The isolated power numbers are just outside the bottom 10. The team OPS numbers are bottom 10, 23% strikeout rate. So, for me here, I’m going to go with the Cardinals in the first five. Like I said, I and I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record again if I’m just repeating myself, but if the Cardinals want to do any damage in this game, they want to give themselves a shot. They got to get to the Cubs early because I don’t trust the Cardinals in this inconsistent offense against this Cubs bullpen. If it was the Cubs against a righty in the Cardinals rotation like we saw them against um against Miles Michaels on Friday, you know, early on in that game, the Cubs struck early and often. I would give the Cubs the edge here, but I said against a lefty in Libertator who is in great form. I think he can at least do enough early to keep the Cardinals in it.
