  4. Addison Barger has 20 doubles this year in 237 plate appearances, or one every 11.85 PAs.

    The modern-day (since 1945) record for doubles in a season was set by Freedie Freeman in 2023, with 59 in 730 PAs. That is one every 12.37 ABs.

    For various reasons, no one is suggesting he’ll actually break the record this year, but it’s worth pointing out his doubles pace is literally better than the single-season record.

    (And in that year, Freeman hit 29 homers. Barger’s pace over the same number of PAs is 34)

    Yimi, Hoffman and Fisher should all be available, no problem. Hopefully we can get 6+ innings from Scherzer and then 3 or less from the pen. At least John won’t be behind the 8-ball so badly today.
