  1. I personally can’t be mad at Keller. He’s been so consistent all year.

  2. Don’t mind the lost, our bullpen was due for a stinker. I’m just worried about our pitching health… one more arm goes down in the rotation and we’re cooked.

  3. Eh whatever. Bullpen game & some real missed chances.

Win the series with Boyd tomorrow.

  4. Tempting to blame that on Keller but we should’ve scored more runs earlier. Lob cost us that one.

  5. Oh well, tough to win pure bullpen games.

They’ve already taken care of business this week by going at least 4-2 on the homestand. Set up great to make it 5-1 tomorrow with Boyd on the mound and they get to face Fedde again.

  6. Womp Womp. Bullpen wasn’t gonna be near perfect forever. Boyd tomorrow gives them a great chance to take the series.

  7. It sucks that Brad picked a bad time to be bad, but the cubs can’t keep doing what they are doing at 3rd base. Matt Shaw 0-3, and had a boatload of opportunities with RISP. Hitting in the 130s over the last 20. Basically an automatically out at this point. Difference in the game for me

It’s okay. Boyd carves them up tomorrow and we take the series. FTC THEY SUCK ASS THIS GAME PROVES NOTHING

  9. My brain has a number of rational explanations and justifications for losing this one, but my emotions don’t seem to care. Baseball is weird that way. Still love this team.

  10. That stunk. Tomorrows game is going to kick ass. Boyd on the bump with the season series tied 3-3. Nationally televised as well.

RIP Bobby Jenks. Sad day for Chicago baseball fans.

    Go Cubs.

  11. With the current field conditions, this had some really good pitching all around.

  12. All I got to say about this is that we can’t win them all. Just gotta move on to tomorrow and take the series.

  13. I’m wondering if Flexen is going to be stretched out and Wicks takes his spot as the long relief.

  14. After that display yesterday, I was resigned to this one being a loss. Just how baseball works. They scored enough runs but the bullpen didn’t have it. Crazy it was close though.

  15. The bullpen game didn’t work out today. Going 2 for 12 with RISP didn’t help either. The relievers can’t be perfect all season long. Go get the series win tomorrow night

  16. JD had a good point about “bullpen” games. Even with a great bullpen, if you throw 5-8 pitchers out there, chances are, one of them is gonna lay an egg. The odds are against *every* pitcher in the lot having their best stuff.

I would have rather them just call someone up to spot-start.
