Jonathan Toews Comes Home, Signs with Winnipeg Jets
It’s just surreal to be sitting here right now putting this jersey on. Um, you know, it’s it’s kind of like, you know, you have these moments throughout your career where some things you kind of I don’t want to say you get jaded, but you get used to it and you kind of settle in. Um, this is another moment that kind of brings me back to like it’s that that new feeling like you’re getting drafted again. You’re a young kid, so there’s there’s definitely that excitement um and that motivation to to come in. And obviously I haven’t played in a couple years. So, uh, I’m just really really feeling blessed to be able to to have the chance to play the game of hockey again at this level, but let alone for the Winnipeg Jets and be part of this team and this organization that uh um you hear nothing but but good things and how the the organization treats the players and the families um but also just the the chemistry and and uh the family feeling that the guys have in the locker room. So, I think that uh that’s something I’m I’m really looking forward to.
It’s truly an honor to be here today. It’s a very very special day for you know, not only um you know, True North, the Winnipeg Jets um but the city of Winnipeg and and the province of Manitoba. Um one of the most decorated uh hockey players in in Manitoba history is coming home and and that’s an exciting thing.
