  1. “Despite the win” hateposting for a summer league game is wild

  2. Those are Dalton Knecht numbers. Wonder why he didn’t get a post

  3. Rough shooting night but that’s what summer league games are for

He did a bit of everything

  4. He gon be aight but I tjink the shot selection is something that wont really change. He a tough sjot maker

  5. Look tough night aside, he’s gonna have some better games in SL no doubt, but feel like some of the draft drama has distracted from a lot of the reasons this guy wasn’t a top 3 pick that had nothing to do with his preferences.

  6. I think what’s worse than the poo poo shooting split is that he was straight up invisible out there, impact wise

  7. Honestly he’s just a kid and he will need time but the way they navigated the draft really put a target on his back and if he doesn’t deliver, a lot of criticism will be coming his way whether it’s justified or not

  8. All the time he was out there I kept thinking about people were hoping he was a 6’10 KD imposing figure out there and he kinda just has Dorian Finney Smith physique with maybe better scoring prowess

  9. He doesn’t turn 19 for another month and it’s Summer League. He may turn out to suck, but I wouldn’t look too far into summer league games. And unless if Bailey is flat out bad as a rookie, I wouldn’t write him off until at least his 3rd or 4th season because of how young he is.

  10. I don’t think Ace Bailey will be that good but Summer League means nothing. Tons of great players (including Wemby) had terrible summer leagues and lots of terrible players had strong summer leagues.

  11. Trae Young had multiple bad games to start Summer League if I remember right. Turns out it doesnt really matter at all.

  12. I remember the scoot discourse. Haters won’t give him a chance

  13. I love how people are already making up their minds about a player after his first SUMMER LEAGUE game

  14. r/nba declares a player a bust after their first summer league game, Part 900.

I wonder what this place would’ve been like if it were around when Greg Ostertag dominated Tim Duncan in Summer League.

  15. He did a great job hitting the boards and playing D, im not mad at a rough shooting performance, that will come around

  16. We’re really already posting hater-fueled stat lines for a rookie’s first ever summer league game. This sub has collectively lost it’s damn mind with this shit.

  17. You know what other bust had 9 points, 8 rebounds and shot 2-13 from the field in their summer league debut?

Wemby. Let’s calm the fuck down on cleaning this kid

  18. As someone who doesn’t watch college ball, just the eye test and his measureables tell me he’s going to grow into a very good player.

However you also have VJ, that – to me – his skillset looked like a mix of Kawhi and Oladipo. Clearly much more NBA ready.

  19. I wouldn’t have drafted this guy top 10 but summer league is meaningless lol.

  20. I checked the box score and saw Edgecombe had 28 and thought damn. Then I saw he took 27 shots. Not sure we should take too much from a summer league game.

  21. I went to the game. There were concerns about him going from being listed as 6’9 to 6’7, but he looks incredibly long. He had some great flashes including a sick block.

With his skillset he’s definitely an off-ball player right now, which is a problem because we don’t have any guards that are good enough to get him the ball, but we’ll get better guards and he’ll develop his on-ball game hopefully. I’m excited, and it’s been the first time since the Mitchell and Gobert era that you can feel the Jazz buzz in the city. Makes me happy to see people wearing Jazz gear out and about. Also Walter Clayton Jr. is a certified dog

  22. It’s summer league bro. I remember people shitting on wemby for his first summer league game.
