TSN’s Pierre LeBron has just reported that the San Jose Sharks have gone out and acquired Dimmitri Orof on a two-year contract worth $13 million. The veteran free agent defenseman had spent the last couple years with the Carolina Hurricanes and is known more for his offense and touch even though he is kind of maybe showing signs of decline now entering his mid30s. But let me know what you guys think. Is this a good signing by San Jose or is this unnecessary?

Puzzling. They are definitely building something decent over there, but this player might be more suited for a team trying to make a push for a cup run.
