Las Vegas Raiders Rookie Blossoming Into A Big Time Steal
The Raiders have a rookie that’s blossoming into what could be the steel of the draft. If you’re new to the channel, we are Detroit Lions fans, but this channel is fully dedicated to teams that just kind of get overlooked by the national media. The Raiders overlooked 100%. Um, we know what it’s like being Lions fans because it’s just like, we’re not good, not good. People giving us some love, but really, are they taking us seriously? And and I absolutely think the Raiders should be taken seriously now with a real head coach, real quarterback, and then the draft that they put together was crazy when when you talk about you had three third round picks, two fourth round picks, three sixth round picks, you’re just boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, nailing draft picks, and the one guy on there is Dante Thornton Jr. out of Tennessee, 65, 43 speed. Okay, and just take a look at this guy really quick. Let me pull this up. And I and I just this clip I love because you can see a quick move at the line of scrimmage and then he’s just kind of striding out and this DB has just no chance. I mean, right here he’s already turned, right? You’re not running full speed if you’re going to run a 100 yard dash with your head turned. Just head turn. And this DB can just make up. I mean, he’s got head down sprinter style, no chance. And so, this is huge because this kind of rounds out your you can see right here. Well, let me go back to it here real quick. It kind of rounds out your your offense. Now, if this guy, this rookie can be who you think it is. Let me show it to you right here. Um, first of all, I just want to what what the coaches are saying about this guy. So, Chip Kelly, offensive coordinator said, “What’s unique for Dante is that he’s 6’5 and runs a 43. You add the speed element to the size, the way he can sink his hips, his ability to get in and out of cuts. This is a rare blend of size and speed.” So, Chip Kelly sees a major upside in vertical threats and the way that he can stretch the field. your GM and owner said his raw traits, athleticism, speed, we think he has he hasn’t hit his ceiling, not even close. And then the coaching staff said they view him as a developmental player attracted by his physical upside. So this is crazy because if you have a great player and you pick him up in Kelvin Johnson, let’s just go let’s go hard here. You get Kelvin Johnson, you pick him up number two, and you’re just like, “What what do we have here? And what’s the ceiling?” The fun part about this guy is you have no idea what his ceiling is. Kelvin, you knew like it was going to be crazy like the whole thing. But the fun part, and this is why training camp coming up and getting into the preseason games, it’s like what do we have here? And can he make an immediate impact soon enough, sooner rather than later? That would be like that is what we’re that’s what we’re going after. So, you take this over to the depth chart for the Raiders. Let me pull that up. And this is why he’s a steal. In the fourth round, you could potentially get a starting wide receiver right here as you look at all the wide receivers that you added. So in the purple is the new guys and in the gold yellowish gold here is guys that you got either via trade or free agency. So you drafted offensive side of the ball was like we got to get some weapons. So of course you get the stud running back. You’ve got now ceilings that we don’t know about. Like what are the ceilings? Jack Beck of course you throw a sixth round in there. Dante Thornton Jr. Point is, the Raiders are a real team now. And I think the Lions, as Lions fans, we went through this as well where once you have a real coach, a real quarterback, and you start acquiring some real players, you’re like, “Yeah, we did suck so bad.” I wanted to talk myself into we’re not that bad. You know, like last year and the year before, you’re thinking, you know what? if we get some balls bouncing our way like these quarterbacks like we’re gonna be okay. No, no, you’re not. I did it with the Lions for years, but especially there’s a couple years that stand out where I’m just I could see it a 100% with your own eyes that this is not good. We don’t have a quarterback, don’t have a coach, and you suck. And you’re like, that’s weird, man. You know, it’s we were in we were in a lot of one-core games. It’s like, no, you weren’t. Okay, that’s just I hate that stat, by the way. The one score game. everyone everyone’s within one score. Uh but now that you start to see, man, a real coach, we’ve got a quarterback that can win us games. We’ve got offensive weapons now. We’ve got a defense like when you have Crosby, your defense, they just feed off him. I don’t know. I’m just not worried about their defense at all. Let me let’s look at it. You actually have blue chip players on your defense. That’s what you need. A blue chip player at every level. Let’s look at it. Defensive line. Christian Wilkins like, “Let’s go. Give me something this year.” Max Crosby done. Darien Porter at first of all, I’ll get back to him in a second. You get two guys from Cincinnati and Pittsburgh via free agency. Let’s turn this over. Linebackers were just going to be better. Then in the defensive side of the ball on the secondary, Jeremy Chin be something. You know, like you’re just looking around this roster saying follow Max Crosby’s lead and be something. We need you guys to step up. If they do, you look at this division now and instead of just being like literally just, again, I just speaking from experience, being a Lions fan, instead of being that team that everyone looks at like, “Oh, sweet, we play the Lions this week. Ah, sweet. We play the Raiders.” It’s not like, “Oh, shoot, man. This team’s going to be a tough out.” So, you know, you got the Chiefs tough Broncos. I guess what I’m trying to say is the teams in your division don’t terrify you. Broncos are going to be good. Chargers are going to be good. Chiefs are going to be good. No, there’s no question. However, you are so much better that it doesn’t scare the crap out of you now to go against some of these teams and just be like, “We have no chance. We literally have no chance.” You’ve got a coach and a quarterback now. Weapons. What if Genty is just unreal? Like we think he literally probably will be. That’s fun. I’m in for that. So, let me know your thoughts in the comments. Again, make sure you subscribe. Love looking at your team from an outsers’s perspective. And that’s what we have on this uh this channel is there’s just certain teams that you can see it on our channel. We talk about five, six teams that just kind of get overlooked. And um I mean the Raiders are getting overlooked. No one’s talking about them. They they’ve got really good teams in their division. There’s no question about that. So it’s going to be difficult. But I mean, let’s go. We got a fighter chance now. And that’s all you can ask for. And you want to play meaningful games late in the season. I think you have the opportunity now with the team that you have, coach, quarterback, to make this happen. So again, let me know your thoughts. Make sure you subscribe. And we’ll see all of you on the next one.

Raider Films did some tape on him, he won the route over and over and over, but the QB couldn’t get him the ball. Might actually be somebody. Appreciate the love. I’ve been a semi fan of Detroit since Barry and, later, the Pistons with Wallace. Love the grit.
Good work 👏 🙌
