ESPN Just DISRESPECTED Miami Dolphins RB De’Von Achane?!
Did Devon Achan get disrespected by ESPN’s running back rankings heading into the 2025 season? We will talk about it because there is a pretty good case to say that he was also Asante Samuel Senior. He sure had a lot of things to say about the Miami Dolphins. So, one’s got to wonder with what he said. Does this mean his son Asante Samuel Jr. is off the table in terms of being a late off season addition to the Miami Dolphins cornerback room? We will discuss all of that plus some Darren Waller, Jaylen Ramsay, and a whole lot more. Do me the favor, smash the like button, subscribe if you are new, and as always, let’s get into this one. [Music] [Applause] You have got to be kidding me. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Beautiful [Applause] [Music] [Applause] day to be a dolphin dance. Let’s go. [Music] What is good, Finn Nation? What’s good? It’s your boy Reasonz and we are back here for another one on this Monday. Appreciate all y’all for taking some time out to tune in. I want to thank all y’all for coming out. We showing a lot of support for the video yesterday about Tua making the NFL top 100 list. I really do appreciate that, man. So, just a quick programming note. Um, I do have a guest that I will be recording with tomorrow. Um, so I’ll have a special episode dropping Wednesday morning for you guys. So, be out on the lookout for that. It’s someone who’s talked about the Dolphins quite a bit and I think this is a good going to be a good episode. It’s someone who I’ve referenced and we’ve talked about, etc., etc. So, we’ll keep that a little hush hush for now. But, make sure you tune in Wednesday morning. I’ll probably be dropping that, you know, around 8 9:00 a.m. for you on your way to whether you’ve sat down at your desk or whether you’re on your way to your desk. So, be sure to be out on the lookout for that. All right, guys. So, special episode coming Wednesday morning and we’re working on some other things, too. All right, shout out to Knight. Knight sends one Fside the NFL gift membership. Appreciate you. Scotty gets that. And I am working on some other things. I’ve got a couple players that have said, “Hey, we’re down to come on.” Um, they’ve told me this over the last two weeks, two different players. So, hopefully we’ll be able to get that get that happening before they they report, but maybe even once they report, we can get it going. But, I’d like to get it h to go down before they report. Last year, I basically had Patrick Paul, but he ended up ghosting. But, you know, he even followed me on Twitter, you know, so we could correspond, but he ended up ghosting. But I’ve got two players who have agreed to come on and discuss uh you know everything, right? The offseason training camp coming up, the regular season. So, we’ll see how it works out. We’ll see how it works out. All right. Um so, yeah, we are working on a bunch of things over here to give you guys the continued best content there is possible. Like I said, don’t forget this weekend, probably Sunday, I’m going to drop my offensive preview. All right, we’re gonna have um we’re going to preview the offensive side of the roster heading into training camp. We are going to have a couple prospect previews. We’re gonna have Jonah Savvya. We are probably going to have Olly Gordon and I’m thinking of adding Quinn Eurers to the mix. And then the following weekend, all right, we are going to have the defensive and special teams preview where I’m going to have um prospect profiles at minimum on Kenneth Grant and Dante Trader. For those of you new to the channel, my prospect profiles I’ve been doing since this channel started. What I basically do is I cut up a bunch of all 22 and I give you an even further in-depth scouting report on these players, especially if I had them already on my big board. So, you’re going to get a further, you know, remember Jonas Savvy was the second guard on my big board and he had a scouting report for all of you guys. to go back and watch that um preview video, that big board video for the guards. Well, now I’m going to go even further in depth. I’ve finished Jonas Vani. He’s wrapped up. So, um yeah. So, we’re going to we’re going to give you the 411 on these players backgrounds, what they do best, strengths and weaknesses, and how they project best with Miami and what their future could hold. So, make sure you check out those offensive preview videos and make sure you support them because those are videos that are going to get demonetized due to the all 22 I’m going to use. So, it is what it is. Um, all right. I’m not going to sacrifice the quality of my content, you know, for money. I’m just not going to do that. So, that’s why those are the only videos where I’ll ever really ask you guys or press the fact, hey, can you donate? Hey, can you support? Those are really the only videos where I know I’m going to get demonetized. But, you know, you guys can do what you can do and and that’s enough for me. But I I like I said, never going to sacrifice my quality just to bring it. Now, the only time you’ll see me like edit and chop things out, I remember last year when I did my edge big board, I had to heavily edit the Chop Robinson um scouting profile um because it like got blocked, you know, like they were blocking the video. So, that’s the only time you’ll see me like actually go in and edit all 22 or a scouting report or whatever the case may be is if they’re blocking the video. If they’re going to demonetize and just take the ad revenue, I’ll let it roll. But if they’re going to block a video, then yeah, I’m going to edit it and do what I got to do to make sure you guys can at least get some of that. Right. So, um can Reason, can you do a video of my man crush Jaylen Conors? Daniel, think about what I was just talking about a few minutes ago and I might be able to do you one better. All right. Okay. Little hint hint. All right. So, um, anyways guys, do me the favor as you do come through. There is about 150 of you in the room already. Smash that like button. Subscribe if you are new. All right. Um, and again, shout out to everyone. I know, you know, Monday after a long weekend, I mean, it’s one thing you got to drive in to work today. It’s another thing you got to drive in realizing that Diddy’s getting off and somehow the FBI and the DOJ lost all the Epstein files. All right. All right. So, yeah, that’s a different conversation for a different day. All right. You know, I’ve seen pictures of these guys waving binders with the Epstein files and talking about the files on their desk. All of a sudden, they disappeared. Okay. All right. I knew I’m just going to say this. I didn’t trust Cash Patel when he got the position and I feel like I’ve further been vindicated with everything that’s transpired with that situation. Anyways, we’re not here for that. We are here for the Miami Dolphins. So, without wasting any more of your precious time, let’s just hop right into everything today. All right. And um let’s start off with this because I got to talk about this. You know, I got to I gota I got to state a case, if you will. All right. If you have not had a chance to see these before, ESPN every offseason, what they’ll do is they will um every every offseason they’ll talk to, you know, executives, GMs, etc., etc., coaches around the league and um you know, they will rank every position All right. So, and yes, like Daniel said, let’s pray for the people in Texas. Those floods are crazy right now. Shout out to EM Dolphin fan. That’s ridiculous right now. Shout out. Prayers out for everyone in Texas. My mom’s best friend lives in Texas. That’s awful situation. So anyways, um ESPN every year they will do their um executives, coaches, scouts rank NFL’s top 10 running backs every year. They’ll go through each position. So this week they drop running backs, you know, they’ll do everything, tackle, guard, all of that stuff. So I want to get into this because this is kind of crazy. Um, check this one out. So, now they remind you the ranking process. Voters gave their us their 10 best players at a position. Then we compiled the results and rank candidates based on the number of top 10. So, you know, um, and then with research and film study help from ESPN NFL analyst Matt Bowen. All right. So, a total of 70 more than 70 voters submitted a ballot. So, um today is running backs, tomorrow’s defensive tackles, edge rushers is Wednesday, safeties is Thursday, tight ends Friday, interior offensive lineman Saturday, etc., etc. So, they’re going all the way to So, I’m sure we we’ll be covering some. So, all right. This is what they had to say. Now, you’re not going to hear any argument with any of us here. I think Sequin being voted number one. Yeah, that’s cool, you know. I mean, it is what it is. We’re not going to we’re not going to say too many negative things about that. Derrick Henry number two. Now, obviously the year he had last year, I mean, you know, he’s popping off, but look, it climbed from nine last year to one this year. So, um Jamar Jir Gibbs, he was at number three. Sorry. Yeah, number three. He jumped up from eight last year. Um, number four was Bejon Robinson, which I think is wild. You know, Bejon is he’s a stud right now, man. I I I might have put him over Gibbs, you know. I I really I really would have put him over Gibbs. Um, Christian McCaffrey now, he dropped from one to three. Um, and obviously that’s because of how good he was before his injury. Um, you know, we’ll see cuz if if the injuries continue popping up, he’s just going to fall down this. Josh Jacobs, the number six. Um, you know, he he he ran for like over,300 yards last year, 15 touchdowns. He earns that. Jonathan Taylor, you know, everyone knows I wanted us to draft him with the pick we used on No Monogamy. So, you are not going to hear an argument from me. He fell a little bit from five to seven, though, right? Um, James Cook, last year’s an honorable mention. This year, he’s number eight. All right. And obviously, he had a big year, right? 16 touchdowns. Number nine, Joe Mixon. Last year, he’s an honorable mention. um this you know this year he’s number uh you know again see now we’re starting to get into the disrespect in my opinion here cuz I mean like let’s be honest here who has a higher trajectory Devon Achan or Joe Mixon right I mean this is where it starts here all right so Joe Mixon last year he had 12 touchdowns. All right. 11 rushing, one receiving. All right. He had 1,16 yards on the ground, 309 yards receiving. All right. Devon Achan. He had 97 yards rushing. All right. He a actually averaged more yards per rush. He averaged about 4.5 yards last year. Joe Mixon even averaged 4.1. He also had six yards, sorry, six touchdowns to go along with that. No fumbles, right? No fumbles at all. But he also had 592 yards receiving and six touchdowns. He had a fumble receiving, but he had I mean, let’s do some math here, shall we? That’s 1497 allpurpose yards. Joe Mixon had 1325 and they had the same amount of touchdowns and achan averaged more yards on the ground. So I think this is disrespect number one. You know, I think this is where Javon Achan should be. If you want my honest opinion, he should be right here. I agree with all eight, the top eight, but this is where Devon Achan should be in here right now. He should be number nine. Now, let’s keep going. Alvin Kamara, Alvin Kamara has a better case to be in the top 10 than Joe Mixon, if you really want to get into it here, but it’s the same case. Alvin Kamara had 950 yards rushing last year. He only averaged 4.2 yards per carry. Again, Achan on the ground had 97 yards, but he averaged 4 and a half yards per carry. Alvin Chimera had six rushing touchdowns. Devon Achan had six rushing touchdowns. Now, as a receiver, he had 543 yards, did Alvin Chimera, and two touchdowns. So, he had a total of eight touchdowns. Again, Achan receiving last year had 592 yards and six touchdowns. So, he had he had four more receiving touchdowns and four more total touchdowns than Alvin Chimera. And he averaged more yards per carry and he had more yards from the line of scrimmage. Again, Alvin Kamar had 1493. Devon Achan 1497. Are we also going to take age into factor here? Joe Mixon’s 28. Alvin Kamar is 29. Devon Achan’s 23. Ladies and gentlemen, Devon Achan has 432 speed. Remind me if Alvin Kamar or Joe Mixon have 432 speed. Like I think this is just brutally disrespectful here. What are we talking about right now? He’s got better numbers than the nine and the 10 guy from a yards per carry standpoint, from a total scrimmage yards standpoint. From a touchdown standpoint, he’s better than Kamar and tied with Mixon. But let’s do you even one better. Let’s do you one even better. And we’ll get to what they say about Devon Achan, but I want you to look into the doorways to my soul when I say this to you. Who had the better offensive line here? Like, you know, this is ESPN, right? Isn’t one of their metrics pass block win rate. Just for example here, the Miami Dolphins had the 26th best pass block, sorry, run block win rate. Sorry, I apologize. They have pass block win rate and one run block win rate. The Miami Dolphins had the 26th run block win rate, 70%. New Orleans 19th best run block win rate. Now the Houston Texans, they had 31st, but okay. So Kamar had less yards from scrimmage, four less overall touchdowns, and his offensive line had a better run block win rate by ESPN’s own metric. But somehow Devon Chan can’t displace him. We don’t even got to go get to the athletic profile. Again, who’s more deadly at this stage of their career? Alvin Kamara or Devon Achan? We were having conversations last year where Devon Achan was arguably the most effective and most dangerous offensive weapon on her team, which included a roster that had Tyreek Hill on it. When this guy’s in the same breath as offensive weapon as Tyreek Hill, who are you more afraid of? Devon Achan in open space or Alvin Kamar in open space? Who are you more afraid of? Devon Achan in open space or Joe Mixon in open space? I made the comparison on yesterday’s show and I took it to Twitter yesterday. Devon Achan is the modern-day upgraded version of Reggie Bush. Now people, well Reggie Bush could hurdle and and the Jukes. What are you talking about? You think Devon go back and watch the film since&m? Go watch the Broncos game. H Chin had a run up the left side where he made four men miss before he took it to the house. Like what are we talking about here? Devon Achan can cut on a dime and not gear down. It’s crazy how explosive he is. Like Achan is special, man. I’m telling you right now, Achan is special. like he he’s you keep him clean. Oh my god. And he’s just going to bulk up and get bigger and he’s going to get used to the the workload of an of an NFL that of an NFL team. That’s what you’ve seen, right? He wasn’t used to this workload coming out of Texas A&M, right? Remember the year before? Because remember, how did I fall in love with Devon Achan? The year before he came out when I was watching the Isaiah Spiller film, I was like, “Yo, who is this? What? Oh, right after watching year one of McDaniel, I’m like, oh boy, that guy’s perfect.” And that’s who I was pushing that whole draft cycle, just like I pushed Chop last year and Kendrick Grant this year. That’s the guy I was pushing. And I mean, you look at it, everyone wants to talk about how perfect a fit Tua is for this scheme. Devon Han might be a more perfect fit. You could probably make the argument like we’re okay with moving off Tyreek because we know they’re going to flex a Chan out and Achan’s been working on his route running. Now, you know, we’re not totally okay with losing that kind of weapon in Tyreek, but you get what I’m saying with the drama going on, etc., etc. Achan kind of eases that a little bit. Would Kamar ease that? Would Joe Mixon ease that? Again, losing one of the best and greatest offensive weapons of the last 10 years and Tyreek, those running backs can do that. So, I don’t know what’s going on here, but this is what was said in the article because Achan did make the list, but he made it as a honorable mention. All right. So, let’s go back to that right there. And what’s crazy is like he was the third honorable mention. It’s wild. The disrespect is wild. Bucky Irving named obviously then Aaron Jones senior then Devon Chan and they said elite speed and explosion could wear down because he’s small similar to Gibbs. He just gets banged up. runs very hard for how small he is and should get out on the perimeter more perimeter perimeter more as a pass catcher. Hold on a sec. Similar to Gibbs, remind me, didn’t we just go over this? Wasn’t Gibbs number three on this list? So, what’s similar? Gibbs was three on this list and HN was the third honorable mention. This is disrespectful because I count the honorable mentions in order, right? You 13th best running back. In what world is Devon Achan the 13th best running back in the NFL right now at worst? He’s ninth. He’s better than Mixon. He’s Who are you taking right? You start a team tomorrow right now. Who are you taking? You’re taking Alvin Kamar at 29 who had less yards of scrimmage and less touchdowns and less yards per carry than Hand who’s 23. You take in Joe Mixon who had a couple hundred yards less yards from the line of scrimmage and the same amount of touchdowns but doesn’t and a smaller yards per carry and doesn’t offer you nearly the explosive or the receiving threat a Chan does. Who you taking? Come on, Bucky Irving. Who you taking? Bucky or Achan? Please. Aaron Jones. I like Aaron Jones. I’ve liked him. You know, I was on the bandwagon of, hey, if you could have got him for the right money, I wanted him in Miami. I was down for Aaron Jones. Brother, seven days a week and twice on Sunday, I’m taking Devon Achan. Please. What are these NFL executive scouts and GMs? Or, you know, are they going to pee-wee leagues and asking these guys? Cuz we got some serious issues. If scouts are agreeing with this, come on, man. This is why people can’t take the national media seriously. And then you got to say, well, you know, we had over 70 voters and we used the film study of Matt Bowen. If Matt Bowen thinks Joe Mixon Alvin Kamara, Bucky Irving, and Aaron Jones at this stage of her career are better than Achan. We got an issue here. Again, we all saw what the offensive line was. We all know the context of that 26th overall pass block win rate. We all know how bad this team has been blocking wise in short yardage situations. You can’t even get a crease. You don’t even give the running backs a chance. Doesn’t matter if they’re 197 pounds or 220 lbs. You don’t give them a chance. That interior, that offensive line gets collapsed instantaneously. Or you got Julian Hill whiffing on a block or they do get the first down, but it’s called backers of a hold. Please, we’ve gone over the numbers here. We are the worst oneyard to go team in the last three years and it’s not particularly close and that’s not on the running back room cuz we got talent. You know, I go back and talk about this everyone because there’s too many box score watchers and casual people who don’t know the nuances of the game but want to talk like they know the nuances of the game. So they’ll come out here and they’ll early declare people bust like they did with Chop Robinson a few games in and then they’re, you know, nothing but egg on their face by the end of the season. Same thing’s happening with Jaylen Wright. I’m telling you right now, I’ve been telling you all off season. All right, I know there’s people in the chat that agree with it. I know his father agrees with it. I’ve been telling y’all Jaylen Wright is going to have a big year. And stop sleeping on this kid. You go back and you watch the film, and I talk about this all the time. How many how many runs did we see where this kid is multiple yards behind the line of scrimmage, the play is, you know, dead on arrival, but he cuts it back and turns it into an eight, nine, 10 yard gain. I feel like I talk about this weekly. Jaylen Wright’s got it, man. I’m telling you, if he becomes the blocker we saw on film two, it’s going to be hard to get him. It’s going to be hard to get him and achan off the field. Now, I know there’s a contingent in this fan base that, you know, they’re harrah harawing for Ali Gordon, and I’m down. I don’t care who does it. Just do it. You know what I mean? But I do think it’s going to be hard. It’s going to be hard for Ollie. I mean, we saw great offensive line, Olly Gordon, Heisman, candidate, literally next year, terrible offensive line. What happens has a massive down year to the point of how far he fell to us. So, I don’t know. I think it’s wild. Fa Chan as the 13th best running back in football in what world? And I agree with what Scott Bonis says in the chat. I mean, yeah, if you give him the offensive line, I agree with this. You know, Tyreek leaves and more targets open up. This is this is this is real. you know, he’s already year two, 1500 yard and we just started easing him into the, you know, he just started easing that in and with no offensive line. Imagine if he would have probably ran for like what, 1,200 yards if he would have had a good offensive line last year, maybe even, you know, 1300. He would have been probably around 17,800 yards last year, line of scrimmage. you know, he had almost 600 yards receiving. And that’s realistic to think he would have probably been a, you know, 17,800 yard back in year two. Just give the man the an offensive line for the love of God. You know, this is why I say everyone wants to talk about two in the offensive line. This is why I talk about the running back and the offensive line and that room running back room in the offensive line. They need it just as much and they’re going to make everyone’s that offensive line getting fixed will make everyone’s life easier because the running game will start clicking which will make Tua’s life easier which will make the receivers’s lives easier lives easier. So you know everything works in unison as one cohesive unit and the moment you you throw a wrench in that cog you know you don’t get the results you hope for as we all saw last year. I agree, Russell. Go back. And I know Russell, you’ve been a day one. You were around when I was saying before we even drafted Tua. What would I say, Russell? I don’t care if you draft two. I don’t care if you draft Burrow. I don’t care if you draft Herbert. I don’t care if you draft Love, go get me an offensive line like what they have in Indianapolis and Oakland. Because remember, those two lines along with New England were like the cream of the crop, right? Quinton Nelson was in his prime. All those Raiders linebackers were sorry linebackers. All those Raiders linemen were in their prime, right? All the guys who ended up retiring and spreading out and going everywhere else. I mean, people forget how good an offensive line Derek Carr really had, you know? And look at what Derek Carr did before he got hurt. A perfect example. Perfect example. Derek Carr. Look at what Derek Carr was before he got hurt. MVP. Remember that? Remember that year where he was in the MVP? What was that? What year was that? That was like I want to say 2017 or 2018. Let me see. I think that was what 2017 I want to say. Let me see. I know. Was And he got hurt, right? He’s just whing. He’s playing amazing. Uh what was it? What year did he get hurt? It was before they went to Vegas. I think it was Was it? Yeah, it was 2017, right? It was 2016 or 2017. And I know he was in like he was just balling that year, right? I think it was 20 might have been 2016, right? And everyone thought like, oh my god, because they had Khil Max then and stuff. Everyone was like, yo, they’re going to make a run. And he got hurt at the end of the season, right? Wasn’t it like the last game of the season? I’m pretty sure it was the last game of the season he got hurt in. But my whole point was look at I mean he was the guy was in the MVP conversation literally because of how good that offensive line was. I’m pretty sure it was 20 Was it 2016? Yeah, it was 20 it was Yeah, it was Christmas Eve week 16. 2016 and he got ranked 11th in the NFL top 100 players of 2017 because of it. Yeah, he look at his numbers that year. It’s crazy. He put up what? He put up Yeah, it was 2016. He put up 3,937 yards in 15 games, 28 touchdowns, and six picks. And And they were doing amazing that year, right? that that was the year where uh Derek Carr got hurt. But anyways, my point was the offensive line, right? I mean, you go look at that offensive line, man, they just had a bunch of big boys. Now, they all ended up getting old and obviously they all ended up going off to and doing their own thing, but man, that that that that offensive line, man, I remember how good that offensive line was, and it was just so impressive. you know, Gabe Jackson, Rodney Hudson, like Osam Khichi Osama, like man, Donald Penn was even good for them. And they have some good good offensive lines in uh Oakland. So, anyways, disrespect, nothing but disrespect. And man, let that offensive line pop off and he’ll crack that top 10 next year for sure. All right, Asante is Samuel Senior. You thought I was going to say junior, didn’t you? You got to hear what this guy said. I mean, there is I don’t know if his son is coming to Miami anytime soon. This man popped off on us. All right, check this out. Check what Asante Samuel Senior had to say regarding the Miami Dolphins on recently on a podcast. Dolphins had no reason to trade Jaylen Ramsey other than they’re sensitive. There’s no leadership in the Dol Dolphins organization. Mike McDaniels is a pushover. Uh uh uh uh uh Chris Greer, the the general manager, he has no backbone. These guys over here at the Miami Dolphins, they are they are running this team like a little league team. No one can stand up to the players. They’re terrified of their own players and they have no control over their players. First things first, why does Asante Samuel look like Cameron on OMIC? Upset. Um, number two, I mean like does it get any more? I mean, this man this man just said Greer has no backbone. Like, this man just went in on the decision makers that would be the ones bringing his son into Miami. Like, that’s wild. Like, he was not I mean, you got to ask yourself, did the Miami Dolphins already tell his son no? Right. And that’s why he’s popping off. I mean, this guy is saying there’s no leadership. He’s called Mike McDaniel pushover. He said Greer has no backbone. He said they’re running this team like a little league team. Like that sounds like a man who is pretty confident his son is not going to end up in South Beach. Because I mean, I’m not even mad at him for what he said. What I my takeaway is, does this mean his son is out? Like, does this mean his son is no longer an option for the Miami Dolphins? Because you got to feel that if his son was a legitimate option for the Miami Dolphins, he wouldn’t be popping off like this. I mean, that’d be a pretty, you know, that’d be a pretty awkward contract signing, eh? Sante’s sitting there signing the paper and they say, “Yo.” Greer looks at him and says, “Yo, so you’re going to tell your dad I got a backbone?” You know, that’s uh that would be an interesting conversation. No. And honestly, I thought we were going to draft Asante Samuel Jr. in his um in his draft, you know, in in his draft class. And the reason why I thought that was because his uh you know, Brian Flores was a massive fan of um that man we just saw popping off against the Dolphins, but clearly he is not happy with the direction of the Dolphins. Um and you know, we talk about this all these players from the from units talk, you know, so young and young rookies and veteran and retired corners They all talk to each other. You know, I’m sure Asante Samuel has a relationship with Jaylen Ramsay. And I mean, it is what it is. So, I I just my take is not so much on what Asante Samuel Senior said, but why he said it. Like, does this mean it’s no longer an option on the table for the Miami Dolphins regarding signing Asante Samuel Jr. as a free agent? Does this mean Razul Douglas is more of a realistic option? You know, it’s a question to ask yourself. And Barry Jackson actually commented on this situation. Um, and this is what he said. So his original comment that he quote tweeted is, “Dolphins have checked in on recovery of his son, right?” Because he was actually quote tweeting the clip. One of the best remaining UF unrestricted free agent corners who is working his way back from a neck injury. But the way this sounds, they might have better luck waiting out Roswell Douglas or pursuing Stefon Gilmore or James Bradbury. Now, he then quoted and he said, “There has not been an incredibly enormous gap between Razula Douglas and the Dolphins when they discussed their financial visions of contract. Still could see this perhaps working out.” So there is Barry Jackson telling you directly that Razul Douglas continues to be the one with the most steam and the one that may make the most sense here. You know even before what was discussed by Sante Samuel Jr. And the reason why I would say this makes sense too is let’s go back to the Gier Alexander situation. It made absolutely zero sense that they told Jerry Alexander with all that cap space, they told him, “Hey, wait.” Now, if they had Minka already in mind, then it does make sense. But for them to tell Gyrie Alexander, “Hey, chill. Let go to see what we’re doing with Jaylen Ramsay.” But then they offered Razu Douglas, you know. Um, I I always found that kind of interesting, but now that they added and took on the contract of Minka Fitzpatrick, it kind of makes a little bit more sense of why they told a guy like Jaire who got what he got, chill. Even still, you could have created more cap space if you really went out and signed Jire and then you turn around and traded for Minko with the Jaylen Ramsey trade. You could create cash base right now by extending Zack Celler, right? You can create like 11 million by extending Zack Cer right now. So, it’s not like they’re hurting for money. And you could if you resigned Jordan Brooks and Zack Cer, I think you create like 12 million, too. So, let me get those numbers for you actually because I know I got them here too. So, hold on. Tell you exactly what you can do. So, if you were to go ahead and give a new extension to a guy like um Zack Celler, you create about $5.872 million. Now, Jordan Brooks is another guy we’ve talked about. you know, he’s going to be here for the foreseeable future. You extend Jordan Brooks, you create another 6.156 million right now. So, like I said, you create almost $12 million between the two of them. You create almost $6 million with Zach Caler. That could have been your extra cap on top of Jire if you would have brought him in. So, it’s not like they didn’t have avenues to create money if they needed to. Pro special says, “Give me Gilmore.” You know what? at this stage. Give me Gilmore, give me James Bradbury, and give me Razel Douglas and you know, like the Joker in the Dark Knight breaking a pool stick and throwing one half of it between um you know, those two thugs to decide which one joins his squad. Same thing with this cornerback room. All right, throw the sword in the middle of the ring. May the best man win the number two job and so on and so forth. Because I mean I know Chris Greer said we got to finally see it from Cam Smith, but I mean going back to Asante Samuel and what he said, you want to sit here and tell me this guy has no backbone when he’s really he’s willing to like, you know, roll the dice on a season for a guy he hasn’t seen anything from in Cam Smith. a guy they’re hoping for a secondyear jump as UDFA and Storm Duck, you know, and so on and so forth. A lot of questions at the number two corner spot. I don’t know. I don’t know. We’ll see how it all plays out, that’s for sure. So, Drew Rosenhouse, he had his um weekly segment with Josh Moser and they discussed um Darren Waller joining the Miami Dolphins and how that all went down through the big news this week, Darren Waller getting picked up by the Dolphins. He’s coming out of retirement. How did all of this come together? Oh, it was it was uh amazing. And I I got a phone call last Friday um in the last week of June from Darren and he said, “Drew, I’ve decided that I want to play again. I miss football. I’ve got the itch to play. The love of the game is back and I would like to play for the Miami Dolphins.” And to Joe Shane’s credit and Chris Greer’s credit, those two got together and quickly worked out a deal compensationwise. And for the Dolphins, this was terrific timing after losing John New Smith to add Darren Waller to the mix was really uh very fortunate because those are big shoes to fill with John being part of that trade to the Steelers. Just clarifying, Grank is still retired, right? Yes. I uh this was a very similar scenario when Grank told me he was coming out of retirement, but he only wanted to play for Tampa. We had to work out a trade between Tampa and the Patriots then. And that experience of going through that with Gronowski really helped related to Darren deciding he was coming out of retirement and only wanting to play for the Dolphins. So there you go. Um again, we’ve talked about it. It seems like Darren Waller due to Frank Smith, he was locked in and he only wanted to play for the Miami Dolphins. That was all that was on his mind. That was it. um there was nothing more he was thinking about instead of that. Now in that segment um he also discussed John Smith. He said the Dolphins allowed him to seek a trade instead of forcing him to play out the second year of his contract. So he said the Dolphins made the decision they were not going to do a new deal for Jonnu. um you know and he also said that he doesn’t know if that Minka Ramsay trade would have happened without um John Smith being a part of it. So there you go. Um you know listen again I say and I’ve said this we have got to let training camp play out a bit. That’s going to tell us whether Waller was either a good move or a bad move. If he’s the guy Art Stapleton saw at New York Giants camp a couple years ago, we might have got something for the same kind of money. They would have given John anyways at maximum. You know, Darren Waller goes out and balls out. He basically makes Janu’s, you know, close to $5 million, right? What did Johnny make like 4.2 or 4.6, whatever. So again, you know, that’s like 30 second. Let put it this way. If Darren Baller, Darren Waller balls out, Darren Baller, if Darren Well, I hope I can call him Darren Baller this year, but if Darren Waller balls out, he is going to only make like the 32nd 31st most money in the NFL at tight end. So, you know, not much of a risk for the Miami Dolphins in that situation. But again, I keep going back to this and even Rosenhouse talked about it. The one thing you got to like about this and the one thing, well, two things that could get you excited about it is a, if Frank Smith, you know, if anyone is going to get the maximum out of Darren Waller, it’s going to be our offensive coordinator, Frank Smith. That’s number one. And number two, because of that fact that he trusts Frank Smith to maximize his talents and his skills, he wants to be here. like he wants to be here. So, I mean, if you’re gonna take any positives away and you want to put a positive spin on it, those are are the points that I would always point to. Now, at the same time, is his body going to be able to take the beating of an NFL season in 2022 and 2023? That hamstring, that hammy issue was consistent. You’ve been out of league for a year. Is is his body going to be able to take that beating? So, and I agree with Jason. I I just wish he could run block. I got a Patreon update coming for all y’all, too, by the way. Um, I just didn’t get around to it, but I got a Patreon update coming for all you, and we’ll discuss the tight end position in a little bit more, so make sure you guys keep it locked in. All right. Um, now this, look at this quote. Um, this is from a Yahoo um, sports article, and it discusses what Dave Hyde said. So, one Dolphins writer, however, emphasized it that there are other aspects of Ramsay’s time in South Beach that will not be missed. Quote, “Let’s start here.” The Miami Dolphins won’t miss quarterback Jaylen Ramsay. Suns Sentinel writer David Hyde wrote, “They won’t miss him regularly showing up late to practice as the rest of the team was in the middle of stretching. They won’t miss how he constantly undermined defensive coordinator Vic Banjo two years ago and coach Mike McDaniel last season in a manner that spread like a bad odor through the larger team. So look at that. I mean they are pinning I mean look at Dave Hyde whoever’s feeding him this information they are pinning a lot of that toxic culture on Mike McDaniel’s interaction with Jaylen Ramsay and basically Jaylen Ramsay it goes back to what I said and what I said I that I told y’all that I heard I told all y’all that Mike McJane was calling him out in meetings and he pushed back and you know now we might be getting a little bit to the root of the cause that we’ve been wondering hey what’s been you know what was the breaking point for Mike McDaniel and the way they’re wording it they blame him for a lot of their cultural issues last year right I mean look at what they said they won’t miss how he constantly undermined defensive coordinator Vic Banjo two years ago and coach Mike McDaniel last season in a manner that spread like a bad odor through the larger team. Think about this. They’re actually kind of putting the whole Vic Fanjo thing on him, too, right? If you actually think about it, they’re putting, well, you undermined Vic Banjo and you undermined Mike McDaniel and blah blah blah blah blah. You know, they’re kind of, you know, and we saw Cam Smith pushing back on Vicio. We’ve talked about Tyreek being impressionable to these younger minds. We knew Jaylen Ramsey and Xav and Xavier Howard took Cam Smith under their wing in year one. That’s why we’ve heard about the immaturity issues. But not only that, he was not a Vic Fanjo guy like Xavon Howard wasn’t and Jaylen Ramsey wasn’t. So that does actually make a little sense and line up. So man, they just compared this guy to a bad odor. That is crazy. while blaming him for Vic Vanio and blaming him for the cultural problems. Yeah, I’m sure Ramsay was the reason why Tyreek quit on you guys. Now, I’m not saying Jaylen Ramsay was an angel or a saint, but I’m saying like there’s other guys here that aren’t helping the situation either. And again, that now makes two culprits showing up late. Jaylen Ramsay and Tyreek. Two peas in a pod, huh? Shout out to Knight for donating a membership earlier. Let’s go!!!!
Help ! Cover up bro ham 🥸
Wright is going to be a 1k rusher….
Ramsey talked badly about Fangio, and it looks like Fangio got the last laugh…The Eagles Superbowl winning defense was spectacular..We don't need players to second guessing coaches .. Remember when Ramsey wanted to cover the other team's number 1 receiver, he wanted to roam around … Fangio could see that Ramsey was already losing a step, and made him lock down one side of the field…He didn't want him playing too much man defense ….I could be wrong, but that's what I saw….
Stars like Ramsey should be an example and be professional…We need to get rid of these high paid rabble rousers..
Can't wait to see the offense smoke the Colts week one.🎉

Man reason after hearing Samuel Sr there ain’t no way Jr is coming to Miami. Unless Jr and Sr have a terrible relationship and Jr does it as a FU to Sr.
ESPN fell into the abyss of PC being priority #1 and sports a far second about a decade ago.
The FBI and DOJ didn't lose the Epstein files. Trump is all over them and they decided to bury them. It's that simple. There's literally no other reason why they don't want to release the files and the client list. We already know Trump was all over the flight logs and that he was Jeff Epstein's best friend for years and years. We also know there are several accusers who say he raped them when they were 13-15. The proof is right there if you want to see it. MAGA would still follow Trump anyway, even if the files were released. There's nothing Trump could do, past or present, that would shake his cult.
@ Reason hope you had a great and safe Canada Day. I've got family throughout Canada lots of family ( Alberta, Edmonton, just outside Toronto). My 4th went well I'm in Florida as you know.
Reason remember you said Tua relies on his INTERIOR OLINE because he plays his best in-between the Tackles. Well that INTERIOR has always been horrible till now. Hunt and Wynn were good olinemen when they were in the lineup. You definitely saw a drop off this past season especially when the Dolphins played against good defenses. The Dolphins did play well against the @ Bills and should've won that game and believed that Poyer was the reason why the Dolphins lost that game. They win both Arizona and @ Bills games they make the playoffs 💯 %.
By the Dolphins getting the players they got through FA and Draft and UDFA all fill in the players that they've needed. Ollie Gordon will help Achane and Wright run the football through bigger holes.
Example would be having Dorsett, Earl Campbell, and Larry Csonka that's the type of RB's we have on the roster this season Ollie Gordon being the RB that can run players over. I would've like to have seen Mercury Morris,John Riggins and Larry Csonka on the Miami Dolphins together that would've been a RB room. 😂 have a great and safe night Reason .
