Kevin Pritchard speaks: How Indiana Pacers lost Myles Turner, James Wiseman added, Haliburton update

Kevin Pritchard has spoken. The Pacers front office makes their off season more clear and we have a lot to discuss. More on Miles Turner, Tyresese Hallebert, and James Wisman’s on the team again. Isaiah Jackson sounds like he’s going to be I don’t want to spoil it all. We have a lot to get to on today’s Locked On Pacers podcast. You are Locked on Pacers, your daily Indiana Pacers podcast, part of the Locked On podcast network, your team every day. Up everybody, happy Tuesday and welcome in to another edition of the Locked On Pacers podcast where we of course talk about the Indiana Pacers. As always, my name’s Tony East. covered the team for Forbes. And today, for the first time since 2015, people woke up and Miles Turner was not on the Pacers. He officially signed with the Bucks on Monday, which is very revealing because it happened right before our press conference with Kevin Pritchard. And that means when we talked to Kevin Pritchard, we got all the details, most of the details, uh, about that transaction, how it ended the way it did for the Pacers, and why Miles Turner is a buck, plus way more on the upcoming season for the Pacers. Tyresese Halbert and James Wiseman, Isaiah Jackson. Expectations, the works, extensions, draft picks, we got to it all. Really appreciate Kevin Pritchard giving us over 30 minutes of time. Uh, okay. The biggest part of this and the most intrigue by far was the Miles Turner aspect of this that Halurn’s injury influenced how much the Pacers were willing to spend. How did this happen? That he left when all the suggested signs were that he was going to be back and now he’s on a division rival. they get nothing in return for him. How did this happen? Pritchard did clarify they were willing to go into the tax for him which was you know strongly indicated before free for agency as a suggestion as well. And on top of that uh he mentioned that their total team salary this is my interpretation of what he said would have been pretty close to the second apron uh with everybody in the mix. I I can’t remember how close I had them at one point, but you know, if they get to 11 million over the tax, which I remember having them at at one point, they would have been within 10 million of it, and that’s without using any MLE or giving Isaiah Jackson more than my initial projection. So, I think he it is reasonable to say that had they signed Miles Turner to a deal that many projected and done that, they would have been close to that. And so, the fact that he had that projection off the dome and said that they were willing to do so, I do genuinely believe that that is true. If Miles Turner leaves for nothing, that sure should should change their calculus. But um they were willing to spend for him. And yet they did negotiate and it didn’t start, you know, with a quick agreement and that opened the door for the part of the story that I think was the missing link for a lot of people. And here’s what I think it was the missing link. Uh, I kept mentioning like soft launching my theor my two theories on how this could have ended the way it did for the Pacers. And I did that because, you know, I ke I said this last week. I said, “Look, this doesn’t like there’s always stuff we don’t know, but like these front office people aren’t stupid. Like they don’t they don’t they’re not dumb. They’re not like, “Oh, well, it’s okay if we lose this good asset for nothing, right?” Like something happened that we don’t know. And I said on this show yesterday, Derek Schultton and I were talking about this, like is it possible or even potentially the most likely outcome that Miles Turner just wanted to leave at the end for some reason? Uh, and the other part of this, I didn’t mention, maybe I soft launched this on this show, but I definitely said this on James Boyd’s podcast. Not that I’m expecting everybody to listen to everything I do, but on that show, him and I talked about um is it possible that Miles Turner got an offer from the Bucks and did not give the Pacers a chance to even that offer to ma to match or to get closer to that to the point that he would have stayed with the Pacers? And that was the biggest takeaway from for me from how Miles Turner is no longer on the Pacers. And it was the specific phrasing Kevin Pritchard used. It wasn’t even that he said, “Oh, yep. You we lost him and he went to the Bucks and we didn’t get a chance to match.” When he was talking before anyone asked about the specifics of his departure, he said, quote, “We were deep in conversations with Miles and then we saw that he’d accepted an offer with Milwaukee.” Let me read that part that I think is interesting again. We saw that he’d accepted. Saw really hit me. I was like, “Whoa.” and he did confirm later that they found out as a team that Miles Turner was sending to the Bucks from that Chums tweet from that negotiation that Miles Turner would not be returning. And so my my theory when we got details, some of which were all over the place to the point that they were hard to use perfectly, but about the negotiation part of this, right, what the Pacers allegedly offered, what we know the Bucks landed at, and we actually have more to talk about there because they actually got more from the Bucks than initially reported, you know, was that, okay, what happened? Because that gap isn’t that big. Like it’s not crazy to me that the Pacers would have offered what the Bucks did. Why didn’t they if they were so close, right? I said that last week if they were so close. It’s crazy to me that they wouldn’t just go a little higher as opposed to losing him for nothing. That would be the why is they did not get a chance to. And so there’s two reasons that would happen. Well, there’s three. Let me let me walk walk you through Tony East line of thinking. You can land wherever you want here. The easiest interpretation is just that he got the Bucks offer and he took it because free agency moves really fast, right? I tweeted this today because people tweet all the time. You know, why did who is this team bidding against? You know, how did they how did they spend so much for this guy? Well, you just never know when space is going to open up. Like the Bucks did this out of nowhere. And that’s part of the surprise for the Pacers. Not only is that he left, but that they didn’t, you know, I don’t know how many people saw this coming with Milwaukee specifically. So, they opened up the space and they signed him. Things move fast. It’s like once July 1st is here, there’s a pool of money available for every player on every team with the space and the exceptions available. And once it’s gone, it’s gone. And if you’re left out with no deal, you know, you get what you can and you get less. And so if you’re Miles Turner and you know there’s dwindling opportunities, okay, thing one is that he might have taken it because that’s it. Like the chances are there. Thing two is again perhaps he actually wanted to leave in free agency. Maybe he didn’t want to as much before free agency and the negotiation soured his opinions. Maybe he before things even started. It was, you know, poorly relayed around his desire to stay. Again, I had heard that he would have come back or would have welcomed coming back to Indiana, but clearly, you know, something changed or the Bucks offer was just way better in his head. And then the option three is what we know to be true is that the Pacers did not get a chance to counter the Bucks offer. Now, why is it that Turner just accepted because of reasons one and two that I just said? Or is there another factor of this that could be the Bucks saying, “Look, we’re offering you this now, but if you go back to the Pacers for a counter, this offer is gone because the stuff we’d have to do to get you getting out would be like very embarrassing for us if we don’t actually get anyone in the door for it, as in trading pad, conet, stretching, dame, and all this stuff.” I don’t know that would even be a factor, but you know, there’s a lot of reasons that this gets to this point. And regardless, what we know to be true from Kevin Pritchard’s version of events is that the Pacers did not get a chance. And to me, if you’re admitting or at least have it reported that you were close on offers, and we know I said this on James Boyd’s show as well and kind of talked about it here, we know other teams in the league value Miles Turner in the mid to high 20 millions because the team signed him to that contract. like they could have just traded him in the future to get under the tax if the tax was some barrier, right? And they know that this isn’t a surp, you know, they know what the opportunity was. And that is why I keep saying they’re not stupid is because if he signs with the Bucks and gives them no chance to match the offer or consider what they would do, there’s nothing the Pacers can do about that. Right? I did mention this last week. This is the first time ever Milestone has been the NBA for 10 years that he’s ever been an unrestricted free agent. This is the first time he has full autonomy over where he goes in the contract he signs. Right? When he renegotiated and extended with the Pacers, he could only do that type of deal with the Pacers. His first contract with the Pacers was a rookie scale deal by being drafted. His second one was a rookie scale extension that he could only sign with the Pacers at the time. This was his first time that that could have been the case. And so it’s still a little kind of odd that a good starter on a great team ends up in this reality where they’re, you know, in this tough negotiation and offers are coming in from elsewhere on the second day of free agency. But I understand how the Pacers could unfortunately end up in a very tough situation there if they did not get a chance to match the offer and if Miles Turner truly didn’t want to come back or you know didn’t want to come back once he got that offer from the Bucks. Like what are they supposed to do if he just leaves? Especially if they’re offering what they’d consider reasonable and didn’t get another chance, right? So, this is all stuff I wondered because it seems like such a reasonable outcome given everything we know and given how this actually ended up because again, these people are not dumb. And Miles Turner is now a buck. Uh, we learned later in the day, Michael Scott reported this like an hour ago, that Turner’s contract actually ended up being more with the Bucks than originally reported, right? They kind of changed their order of operations with this Ryan Rollins contract they agreed to, and then they bought out Meech for a lot, like six million. They ended up having 25 million in cap space. And it looks like Turner got four years for 109 million with a player option and a trade kicker. Only three million more than reported. Like that’s a good amount more. So over 27 million a year for him. Maybe the Pacers would have offered that. Maybe it would have been different years. Maybe it would have been different options. Who knows? I think they would have loved a chance to put a another offer on the table, right? Um see what they could get to, see if they could beat that. And they didn’t. and there’s nothing they can do about that and that just kind of sucks. But you wonder how the start of the negotiations went that got them to that point. You wonder what Miles Turner’s versions of events will be because that’s obviously a key part of this as well. But the the money moves so fast. Like you can’t It’s just It’s a fascinating fascinating way for a 10-year tenure to end that the Pacers didn’t even have a chance to bring him back and keep a starter from their finals team and keep a starter for the last nine years of their franchise. Nine years from now, it’ll be 2034. Like that’s a long time. Uh so that was the biggest part of our discussions with Kevin Pritchard is how did this get to this point? How much did Halburn’s injury change things? He said not really. You know, all sort of that kind of thing. And I think this is from what we knew before he talked the most logical interpretation of events. And that’s why I, you know, you you can take in information from these pressures however you want. Some people say that some things are lip service, some things aren’t true, whatever. Because it made sense to me beforehand and was among my most logical reasons why it ended this way. It makes perfect sense to me that this would be how this process went. even if it does not, you know, come together for a happy ending at all for the Pacers who are pivoting at center. Uh Kevin Pritchard said it will be center by committee this year basically. Who are those committee members? What other big stuff was revealed at Pritchard’s presser between the end of last season and this coming year. Before we get into any of that, we got to talk about FanDuel summer sports. Thanks for making us your first listen today and every single day or second listen lock on Bucks cuz Miles Turner is on that team. It’s official. The signing hit the transaction log at about noon on the 7th. Wowee. Turner’s block signage is down. I went back and looked at young videos of him talking about that program. It’s crazy to see how different he looks. Miles Turner is a Milwaukee Buck. We will potentially, if new information or drastically different information is revealed, talk about what he says at his press conference. I assume he’ll have one. It’s pretty marquee signing. Uh so we’ll see where that goes. But that is the interpretation of events from the Pacers on Miles Turner, who is no longer on their team. Okay, let’s talk about players who are on the Pacers now. Uh, woo, on the way in. He’s back. James Wiseman returning to the Pacers. Kevin Pritchard just said, “What I I don’t think I’ve ever had a signing announced that way before the reports from, you know, a newsbreaker, before an agency tweeted it out, before the Pacer tweeted it out. Kevin Bridger just said it. Yeah, they’re signing James Wiseman. Uh they signed him later in the day. Uh two-year deal with team basically the same structure as last year. Two-year deal with a team option. We’ll talk more about the the cat geekery of all that stuff later uh when they do a couple more things that I expect to happen somewhat soonish. So James Lman is back. All right, I guess. Um here’s So someone actually commented about this on YouTube yesterday for me and I predicted before talking to Kevin like, “Yeah, I don’t really know if they’ll do that.” You know, I in my head on the unlikelier side. So, I will admit why I did not expect this is because of the way Isaiah Jackson was trending, right? He got the qualifying offer that suggested to me he’d be back with the team. It’s just how restricted free agency works for guys at that talent level. And so, I I did not think that the Pacers would be willing to bring back two centers who are coming off of Achilles tears. It would be huge unknowns into their rotation, especially after they lost their starter. But that’s the o that’s the main driver of why I thought that because outside of that why not right like as next year transitions toward a little bit more of the blend of development and winning. Um Wiseman certainly falls a little bit more into that category even more so than last year right like honestly Wiseman makes more sense this year than last year. I’ve never been as high on him as everybody else. I think that’s been pretty clear from listening to me for years. But this it does make I do I do understand it. He’s huge. He’s been rehabbing in Indie since the injury. They traded him away obviously to Toronto back in February. Used the trade exception they got from that to bring in Jay Huff and then just brought back James Wiseman. That’s all a kind of funny string of transactions. So why not, right? Why not? If they they know him better than anyone right now because the rehabs happen in their facilities, right? I think that certainly helps them uh know what they’re getting and know what he could look like to start the season or around the start of the season. Uh, first note there would be Thomas Bryant. It sa I mean that that’s probably just there’s too many guys in the mix now. Jay Huff, Tony Bradley still under contract. James Wiseman’s now under contract. Uh, we’ll talk about Isaiah Jackson in a second. There’s just not room for Thomas Bryant. I will not be talking about him again on this podcast unless something changes that makes it makes more sense for him to be back. Um, we’ll get more into James Wisman on a later show because point two at the center rotation is Isaiah Jackson. It was very funny to hear Kevin Pritchard mention uh a center from their previous team that that they may be considering bringing back and I said later because it could have been Thomas Brent. I said is that Isaiah Jackson? He said that was a good guess. Uh and so nothing there yet officially. I think Kevin Pritchard called it close. I’ve heard that from other people as well. Um the buzz is that Isaiah Jackson’s in Indie right now. So, I’d imagine I mean every sign was already there once they gave him the qualifying offer, but seems very very very very very likely given that he’s a restricted free agent that Isaiah Jackson will also be back with the Pacers. Um, we’ll talk later about the roster ramifications should he be signed, which again I’m now expecting, but I also expect to turn to resign. So, you never know. Regardless, uh, if he’s back and Wisman’s back and Huff’s back and they have Bradley under contract, that’s the center by committee stuff that Pritchard was talking about. Uh, that’s a that’s a young group, right? Jay Huff, I think, is the oldest player of that group. So, it’s a 26 and under crew trying to figure out what they are. I suppose it’s a blank slate to figure stuff out, right? Let those guys show what they can do. And, uh, welcome back to the Achilles guys who have who have again been rehabbing in Indie. basically got hurt around the same time. So, I would wrap up that discussion with I’ll be very curious how healthy they are to start the season. Right? Remember Julio Loco for he did play a game for the Pacers this past season. I’ve mentioned this on the show many times. He was with the Mads. We were talking to him about after like his first or second game. He tore his Achilles I in 2023 might have been late 2022. He told Dustin Pierre and I we were interviewing him that it took him nine months to play games again, right? which is actually pretty fast um for an NBA recovery. Like I think we’re already past 9 months for these two guys. No, we’re not. No, we’re not quite there. I think next month is nine months for Wiseman and Jackson. I’m just going to lump them as basically getting hurt on the same day even though those two weeks apart. But it took for a year and a half to feel like himself when playing for Wiseman and Jackson. That would be like almost the end of next season, right? That’s pretty close to that time. So, we will see. like they might be ready to go opening night, don’t get me wrong, but I’ll be very curious how good they are, right? And that’s why I was very uh not expecting them to go with two postellies guys, but if if they like them and again, they’ve seen their de development in rehab closer than absolutely anyone. Okay, I understand that and I understand why uh they would choose that. So, that is the center update. if if slash when Isaiah Jackson signs. We will dive a little bit more into that position and how many centers they should keep given the injury situation going on there, but also the rest of their roster situation and what I think they should be doing with some of their backend roster spots. But if they have two coming off Achilles tear centers in their rotation, that does in theory change the calculus for what they’d want at certain spots. Uh, the other tiny roster slash um contract thing was the question about extensions for Ben Matherin and Aaron Smith. I got a kick out of Kevin Pritchard talking to Dustin Per saying, “Man, can we bring it for 24 hours? The season barely ended.” And Dustin just goes, “No, that was great.” Um, he said, “It doesn’t sound like they’ll rush on those things.” They shouldn’t be, right? They have time on both. I don’t think an extension, not that I, again, let me be clear, this is not a commentary on the talent of these players, is a commentary on the Pacers cap situation. I don’t think an extension from Adan makes sense. I don’t think an extension for N Smith is enough, but who knows how his stock will look a year from now if Hallebertton doesn’t play this season. So, kind of shrug. We’ll see. Matherin is actually eligible for an extension right this second. Ben um Palanchero got the first of the rookie no second. Jabari Smith, the second of the 2022 class extensions done yesterday. N Smith is not eligible for an extension till October 1st, but it’s in this offseason. It’s so they talk about it now, whatever. Uh, so that is the final roster thing, but he said doesn’t sound like a rush there. I would put the odds of both happening pretty low. I suppose both have reasons they could happen. I’ll do a show on extensions later in the offseason, but uh that was the last roster building thing we heard from. talked a little bit more about N Smith and Matherin in that answer. Okay, let’s talk about Terry Salbertton. Uh what was said about his timeline, what it means for next year’s season, and of course draft picks, the Cam Joneses, the Talon Peters that Kevin Pritchard also talked about on Tuesday. Back here on Lifetime Pacers, thanks for making us your first listen today and every single day. Your second listen, the Jazz, the Heat, the Clippers make a three-team trade. Norm Powell’s traded for John Cotland’s and some other stuff went on in that trade that was very confusing. I don’t get it for the Jazz. I potentially like it for the Clippers because it sure seems like it could give them a chance to get Bradley Beal or Chris Ball. I sure love it for the Heat. That’s good value for them. Um those shows will have more on that trade with some good players. Like I made the case on lockdown NBA early last season that Norman Powell should be an all-star. He was making everything. I don’t believe that anymore, but he was at one time playing at that level. Okay, I just said Kevin Pritchard’s comments from Tuesday. It was on Monday. uh the day of the week. I don’t remember it because of this three-day weekend. Uh however, speaking of longer things, longer absence coming for Tyrese Huburn, as expected, but now confirmed, Kevin Pritchard said Tyresese Halbert’s out for next year, right? I mean, that should have been duh. Like, we all knew that, but now we really, really know that. Like, he literally got hurt the last possible day of the season in game seven of the finals. If you use that nine-month timeline that I used for Okaf for and I’d call that extremely conservative in the NBA world, that would be, you know, June 22nd injury would be March 22nd. There’s three weeks left of a season. What are you doing? What? Like what? And if it takes a year and a half for the guy to feel normal, just wait till the start of next season. We all knew this. Now it’s official. Uh the most direct thing would be obviously if he’s out for the season and independent doctors agree, the Pacers could apply for the disabled player exception. And that would give them another salary cap exception at the same value as the mid-level exception just over $14 million. That is more about flexibility, right? They could use that instead of the midlevel uh they could use that to help generate trade exceptions. There’s all sorts of ways to having two versions basically of the same exception could provide them value. That said, that said, Tony’s going to be dorky and panic right now with no deal for Isaiah Jackson and Cam Jones. They are 15 million from the tax. Anything for Isaiah Jackson over the minimum plus Cam Jones would probably mean they can only spend like 10 or 11 million of either the MLE or the the disabled player exception without going into the tax. So don’t go out there talking about how they could spend 14 million all at once. They probably can’t without another move, but they absolutely should apply for the disabled player exception. Uh why not have that flexibility, right? It makes all the sense in the world. We’ll see where Jackson and Jones come in or if the Pacers do anything else. Bradley’s cap hit could drop a little bit too, but that is their current spending reality. Tyrese Halburn’s out for next season. That was known. Now it’s really known. And that’s why I started my questions the way I did. I kind of went on the assumption there, but I I was wondering how the Pacers kind of view their plan, especially as it changed for the coming season and the one after that. Right. That’s honestly the one I think fans would be more interested in is 2026 27. What does that look like for the Pacers? Right. And for the coming season, of course, Pritchard said you don’t replace Tai. If you do, it’s a collective, right? That they’re they always talk about e ecosystem. They always talk about everybody is involved in their success. That’s undeniably true. We all saw the playoffs. But he so he acknowledged two things about the coming season that the East is worse. U but the Pacers are worse, right? So those dynamics kind of together will be really interesting. His hope, Kevin Pritchard’s hope is that the Pacers will be written off because he feels like they exceed expectations in those moments. So, uh, that sort of sounded like a spunking rallying cry to some extent. I have still made the case that even though obviously it makes good sense for them to, let’s say, be very liberal with recovery times next year and maybe make the decision to play some younger guys in in, you know, rotational decisions. It’s very hard to in practice have a gap year like especially when you have good players in your team who are extension eligible now and or in the future. Right? Matherine’s playing for a contract. Nmith’s playing for an extension. Yakum could be playing for an extension. You know, I I I haven’t actually counted everybody. There could be Yeah, Obie Topphen could be playing for an extension. Uh who else? I mean, there’s a lot, right, of guys whose new deals would in they could become extension eligible next year. Yeah, Jarus Walker and Ben Shepard entering years of extensions. Those are obviously young guys anyway, but a lot of not young guys are playing in a way that they could be extension eligible the next year. They want to play well, right? It’s gonna be hard to truly sit them uh unless they’re actually hurt, right? So, I think the Pacers will probably try to win with what they have. That makes the most sense given their trajectory, but um you know, their overunders have been listed at like 39 and a half. I’d put it a little above that myself right now. We’ll see where that h that lands, but Halbertton out for the year. They think it’s going to take a collective effort to replace Hallebertton from everybody. That makes good sense to me. And we’ll see what they decide to do at the point guard position. That kind of relates to the center spot. You know, Pritchard wasn’t really asked about what they still need in free agency, but you know, they they currently with the signings that they’ve done have or 12 players now, right? Uh the the 10 they had go, excuse me, 13 players now. The 10 they had going into free agency plus Jay Huff, Tony Bradley, and James Weisman puts them at 13 before Isaiah Jackson or Cam Jones. In theory, that’s their whole team. I will talk about why if Isaiah Jackson is signed soon, why that’s not maybe totally their whole team. There’s still a lot of wiggle room for debate. I talked about some of that with Quinton Jackson on the summer league preview show, but that is in theory where they’re at, right? And so they kind of still need a point guard if it’s just going to be McConnell and Nemhard. Maybe you view Cam Jones as a ready to play point guard and perhaps that’s possible. Perhaps he’s really good. I would think they’d want to vet, right? Give Cam Jones G-League time to develop uh in year one. That’s typically the case for a high second round pick, but we’ll see. Obviously, that is uh up for interpretation. We’ll see where that lands them. And that brings me to the final point. Obviously, they like both of their draft picks. they would have not have picked him if they did not like them. But, uh, Kevin Pritchard likes the draft picks. Tayen Peter in the door. Cam Jones in the door. Um, could be two good players. We’ve seen them every day. The new update on them, Cam Jones has a hamstring injury. Uh, so he they’re they’re keeping an eye on that. You know, we’ve seen him been able to run some and do some shooting drills in the practices. We’ll see if that actually impacts his status for these summer league games. Uh, it would be great obviously to see him play in any sort of setting because his shot looks fun and his play style looks fun and who has the ball a lot in in the summer league games will be telling, but that’s a bummer. And of course, keep your antenna up on this because Cam Jones also had a hamstring injury during the draft combine like two months ago in May. I don’t know if it’s the same leg. We didn’t get any more clarity on what the injury specifically is, but just uh just something to register a a ham hamstrings for this kid. And it’s always so tricky in these times because these rookies go from, you know, the someone I think they were like ranked as an undrafted guy, but somebody tore their Achilles in a pre-draft workout, I believe, with the Spurs and they went from uh, you know, they go from college season straight into workouts and the combine and workouts, workouts, workouts, and you’re flying everywhere like kids are going to get hurt every year. So maybe it’s nothing, maybe it’s something, but keep an eye on that. I think it’d be great for the Pacers to see him play every so often. And that to me is the big takeaways of the Kevin Pritchard presser. They might have paid the tax. They would have gone over it had Turner possibly returned. They would have kept Turner, but he didn’t give him a chance. Tyrese Halurn is not playing next year. James Wisman’s on the team. Isaiah Jackson’s probably going to be. Uh, did I miss anything? They like the draft picks. Extensions not the likeliest thing. You can watch the whole thing yourself. The Pacers posted it in many places. Um, very fascinating. And again, I appreciate him taking that much time for us in these scenarios. I did ask if uh how Hallebertton felt about Turner’s departure. Kevin opted to keep that as a private thing between him and Hallebertton, which that’s fine. I we’ll ask Tai at some point. Maybe he’ll feel the same way, but or describe it the same way, but I’m very curious about that part of it. So, the last piece of the puzzle, what does Miles Turner say about the negotiations? If he’s even asked about it, where does that land him? He is a Milwaukee Buck. The Pacers now move forward tomorrow on this show. Pending. I mean, every day is pending, right? If they make a big trade, if they make a signing, we’ll talk about that. So, if they make a signing, we’ll talk about that. We’ll talk about the position of that player, all that. I could talk more on Wiseman and Jackson and the center spot and another need for a point guard. If not, a fun show involving Talon Peter and his story and his journey to the Pacers and to the NBA. Got a lot of fun details on him that I’m hoping to share and it’ll be great for a podcast episode. So, really looking forward to that. Those will probably be the next two shows though u pending again Pacers timing of signing players. Hope you guys enjoyed this one. You can find me on Twitter and Blue Sky Tony Aris. This podcast is locked down Pacers on both Twitter and Instagram. Thank you all so much for listening. We will see you very soon.

Indiana Pacers President of Basketball Operations Kevin Pritchard spoke to reporters on Monday. What did he reveal about Myles Turner’s departure, Tyrese Haliburton’s injury, James Wiseman, and so much more? Host Tony East was there and breaks it all down.

  1. Many more topics actually hit on in the presser. Went over some of the big ones. Timestamps!
0:00 Myles Turner leaves Pacers for Bucks

5:06 Turner's departure: No chance to counter offer

10:42 James Wiseman returns to Pacers

16:49 Center rotation and Achilles recoveries

20:54 Tyrese Haliburton out for next season

25:29 Draft picks and Kam Jones hamstring injury

  2. Seems probable Turner’s decision was influenced by Hali’s injury. He probably thinks his chances for another playoff run is better with the Bucks than with a Hali-less Pacers next year and the money in the end, would be somewhat equal. If Giannis ultimately still requests a trade then Myles might regret his decision. Lol.

  3. 27:43 The term "kids" generally refers to young humans who are not yet adults. Definitions vary by context:Common Usage: "Kids" typically describes children from infancy to early adolescence, roughly ages 0–12 or 13.
