If Phoenix Suns move on from Bradley Beal, what options do they have in free agency?
Uh Gambo’s exact quote was, “I expect a decision and a resolution on Bradley Beal’s situation in the next 24 to 48 hours.” That post is from 27 hours ago. Okay. It’s tough to figure out because he’s in Italy, but it looks like it’s from 27ish hours ago. So that would indicate at some point probably like today or early tomorrow a quote decision and resolution unquote. Again, that’s from Gamble. is not from the team, but that’s Gamble’s usually pretty spot on with this stuff. Uh is going to is going to come up here with Bradley Beal. And then, you know, I mean, they still have other moves they’re going to have to make, too. But this is obviously to me this was always the biggest obstacle. This was so much bigger than the Durant thing is can you move off Bradley Beiel’s contract because to me, this is the biggest issue they had for the last two years was Bradley Beiel’s contract. You know what’s so cool about this, too? Again, as a former player, you know me, Luke, I’m looking at the culture and you know how much I love the culture of professional sports teams. To me, it it brings back so many memories and I love it. And you can see the culture of the Phoenix Suns really shaping up right now. And you think of Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant, basians, what a misfit they are for the culture going forward. It was just oh man when suddenly Kevin Durant they acquired Kevin Durant after initial hesitation I was all on board for that and then Bradley Beal brought on man it was incredible Matt Ishbia came in here and said I’m going to do something about this and he did and yet that culture is so different than what we’re looking at right now just how bad a culture fit Bradley Beal is for the Phoenix Suns going forward. Well, Bradley Beal was brought on to this team as like the missing piece whether you agreed with it at the time or not. I mean, I I ironically was in San Diego when they made that trade. And I remember thinking like, how did they make this trade? Always in San Diego. Again, I won’t be here when they when they move him apparently if that happens uh today or tomorrow. But um I I that one was a little more I’m not going to say I was like steadfast against it when it happened. I just wasn’t really for it either. I was just kind of like this is odd this one. Uh but the KD one, I mean, I I I like the move. I like the mentality of going for it. I didn’t like moving Muel Bridges. I understand. I I didn’t like moving all the picks, but I get that you have to move stuff to bring in Kevin Durant in maybe not his prime, but the guy still played just fine when he was here. Um that one I was a lot more excited about. The Beal one. It’s like, okay, you’re moving on from Chris Paul. I mean, weren’t those simpler times, Wolf? when the biggest problem for the Phoenix Suns was Chris Paul couldn’t keep his hand healthy during the playoffs. That that was our biggest problem a couple years ago when they made that move. Now it’s like, “Okay, everybody learn trigonometry so we can figure out how to get out from under the second apron with Bradley Beal’s contract.” Well, here’s the simple solution. Get off Bradley Beal’s contract. That’s it. That’s the the simplest solution. It doesn’t instantly make you good, but it allows you to start building a basketball team again because when they brought him in, he was supposed to be the final piece. He is not the final piece right now. even if he has the best year of his career. And to that, are you ready to cut him and eat it for two years? Just cut him and eat it. Are you ready for that? Yeah. Because that’s probably what you’re looking at right now because the wave and and stretch and the fact that there has to be a copacetic relationship between Bradley Beal and the Phoenix Suns in order to make that happen. It is funny um with the wave and stretch a I’m surprised I don’t see more jokes about anytime you stretch Bradley Bea he gets hurt. I haven’t seen any of those comments. Wow. But I’ve seen a lot of people upset about the idea of a wave and stretch. And I look none of this is ideal. Yes. Right. None of it is ideal. The the the part that you have to remember that’s a good thing about Matt Ishbia is he’s still going to be willing to spend money. So, it’s not like if you wave and stretch, we’re just not doing anything for 5 years. Can you really see Matt just be sitting around patiently waiting five years and being like, well, you know, I got to be really frugal with my money. The biggest thing about Beal getting rid of the contracts you can get out from under the second apron and get out. I just all these apron restrictions that by the way get worse if you stay in them longer. Like you start they start messing with your draft picks and stuff. So, that’s the biggest thing is getting out from under that. You’re going to still spend money. You’re still I mean you’re limited because of the aprons, but they’re still going to spend money even if they’re spending some to pay Bradley Beal to not play for them. Yes. And to pay Bradley Beal to not play for them again because this culture has got to be established and Bradley Beal is not part of this new culture going forward. Basodians right now the Phoenix Suns are bringing dogs. They’re bringing dogs into that locker room. I mean, my goodness. What do you think on Paul Calvesi? I can’t do a show without drops, Rick. Um, take that, Paul. Rick Paulie, I just to me the culture is shaping up right now and I love to see it forming. There are three moves that the Phoenix Suns have made that really reminds me of what we’re in store for going going forward. And I can tell you, BAS, I’m really excited to see how it all comes together. I was telling you this in prehab. Prehab, of course, our pre-show prep meeting. Basians sitting in there talking about, man, I’m excited. Wildly excited. I I have the expectation of winning 37 games, you know, but yet to see a team come together under a new umbrella, a new culture, young guys that are going to be trying to make their way at the highest level our species can generate. Long, whippy, athletic, desperate dogs who want to play. I think of drafting Rashir Fleming. I do. This guy is long. What’s his What’s his wingspan? 75. It’s about It’s incredible. You think of the signing of Nigel Hayes Davis. Once again, this guy is fascinating. A fascinating study over in Europe. Played nine games in the NBA. That’s it. He’s 30 years old. Went over to Europe and all of a sudden became one of the best players in Europe. Won a championship. Names named the finals MVP. As a matter of fact, this guy, what are you long and whippy at 68 as well, hyper athletic, who can shoot the three and oh, by the way, a one-year contract. This is a prove it. This is it. This is his shot at the NBA once again. You think he’s going to be all out? He’s going to be barking like a dog before games. And then you think of Dylan Brooks. I have so much more I want to say about this going forward. Dogs in that locker room and they needed it. But it’s all on hold until you can get rid of Bradley Beal. I mean, if if you can’t if you can’t get rid of that contract, it’s like, yeah, but think of how different once again, Bradley Bale, cut him. Eat it. I’m with you. Matty’s ready to do that. It’s his money. This is really easy. It’s funny when people are like, “No, you can’t spend your money on.” It’s not like he has, you know, they have to bring him back. Cut it. need it. Why buy him out? Why have 20% of your salary cap on dead money? I don’t get this buy out for the Suns,
Lillard made sense because he won’t be playing for 1 year,
Just keep him for one more year, bring him from the bench, they are not winning anything this year why ruin the future 5 years more than they already have?
What are these amateurs, idiots running these teams,
Just admit you screwed up and deal with it, eat this salary for 1 or 2 years and than plan for winning,
So buy him out this year pay his salary so he can help our rivals win a trophy, is just flat out stupid.
Trade G. Allen for just picks, trade Nick Richards for just picks and go under the apron.
What are we winning this year anyway?
Please you guys have to step up and make these idiots not do this,
Raise your voice, this is just stupid.
They should just keep him now.
They aren’t any good options which is why this doesn’t make any sense. Who are the Suns picking up after they rid themselves of Beal who is better than Beal
Beal is the Suns 100 million Dollar
Man. Hes Worth About 3 million a Year.or Less.you Got to Pull the Plug.
Might as try and make it work. If beal plays well trade him at the deadline instead of buying him out.
Why are we paying him to go away.. Shouldn't we bench him until he requests a trade
The Suns have to find a way to cut him. Him coming to Phoenix set back this franchise years.
What you all fail to understand why this buyout needs to happen it gets us out of the those horrible tax aprons which then the nba takes assets if the team i think goes over the aprons three years in arrow!? This has to happen to help the fiture
Andrew wiggins sounds about right for beal and would rock n roll
CP3 , Two way Koby brea , and get another 3 and d guy
