They used to have a pre-game thing called “Catch the Fish”, where a person wearing a giant fish costume would start at second and a group of kids would start at home. The goal was for the kids to catch the fish before it got to home. At the game I went to the kids caught the fish about halfway between 3rd and home and pushed the guy down and starting kicking him. Good times.
That was also the night when the planned giveaway were mini ball peen hammers from the local Ace Hardware store. Just after we arrived they realized that they probably shouldn’t be passing out little sticks with metal heads that can be easily thrown at players/other fans. I still have that hammer somewhere…
