  1. Fan vote, so grain of salt.

In my heart, Brodin is top 20 at LEAST, top 10 if we’re talking shutdown D.

  2. Love Faber and he was especially fun to watch in the maroon and gold. I’m not sure what a Jfresh is but it sounds like a brand of bum wipes.

  3. We can quibble over fan rankings but remember that there are 64 defensemen playing top pair for their team at any given time. We’ve got it pretty good already and Zeev is going to be very high on these lists before long.

  4. It is funny that a bunch of the D that got significant bumps were guys that people saw play in the 4Nations. I’m surprised that Adam Fox didn’t take more of a hit in this vote as a result. He was pretty bad in that tournament

  5. The fact that Erik Karlsson is rated higher than Brodin and Spurgeon tells you everything you need to know about the validity of these rankings.

  6. Typical fan vote ilk. I’d be more interested in what the top NHL offensive players think. I’ll guarantee you that Connor McDavid’s list looks a lot different.

  7. I feel Spurgeon is that low because no one notices him out there, because THAT is how good he is at his job.
