Penguins Sign Ben Kindel to a Three-Year, Entry-Level Contract

  1. Plan is for him to go back to Jr’s next year though still, right? Or was he just that impressive in the 4 day minicamp lol.

  2. Kindel’s going to be a really intriguing project to follow over the next few years. He’s loaded with tools you just can’t teach: elite hockey IQ and top-tier playmaking instincts. His weaknesses lie in strength and skating, but those are areas that can be developed. If Dubas and Clark saw a kid willing to put in the work to close those gaps, then taking him at 11 could end up aging like fine wine.

  3. I still don’t love this pick, but it feels better when they were able to get Zonnon and Horcoff also in the first round.

I’m also an idiot, so Kindel is likely a Hall of Famer.

  4. My guess is they feel he is ready for a taste of NHL competition and will monitor him closely at training camp and let him get in a few games and then send him back to Jr.

But I know shit about NHL contracts and rookies lol
