Braves vs. Athletics Game Highlights (7/8/25) | MLB Highlights
Game one of the three-game set between the Braves and the A’s from Sutter Health Park. Ronald Akuna scratched. Mark Bowman says the Braves will evaluate Akunia over the next day or two before deciding whether his back discomfort could affect his availability for the home run derby and the All-Star game. Right now, there’s hope at South Hawk. Jeffrey Springs on the mound this evening for the Athletics. Just what kind of a run Jeffrey Springs has been on over his last six games total. four starts of those six appearances. Proofar 250, two home runs and three runs batted in and swing a miss. So ProFire goes down and the first batter strikes out against Jeff Springs. Bring up Matt Olsen. Third All-Star appearance coming up for Matt a week from today. Playing in a new ballpark here against their former team for the first time. Grounded to first. Curts will step on the bag. Two gone. Two up, two down. and Riley fly ball to right and Lawrence Butler will make the catch. Three up, three down. Nice start for Jeffrey Spring. Right-hander Diddier Bentus just his fourth start of the season. He delivers to the Atlanta product and Butler it’s a deep drive right center field. Eli White back at the track turning and it’s off the wall. It’s in play. Butler’s at second. This might be an inside the product home run. He’s at third turning at third. Losing his helmet comes to the plate. There’ll be no throw and the kid from Atlanta on the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning hits an inside the park home run. How do you like that? One- nothing game. Well, he’s going to love that for a lot of reasons. Number one, it’s a homer in the book. Number two, Lawrence Butler able to put on display some of the speed that he possesses. Here comes Jacob Wilson. Oh, and right in the hand is Jacob Wilson. And he is now down on his knee. Out comes Jeff Collins, athletic trainer Marcate to follow. And that is not the sound you want to hear, letting all the air out of this building after the excitement was just built. You’re just holding your breath for the All-Star shorts stop right now. Take a look at this pitch. Looked like it caught him right there on the left wrist. High velocity, 97 mph. And he’s going to come out of the game. It’s a smart play for so many reasons, but at this point, they’re going to get him back there, I’m sure. Check out the hand further. It’s going to be Schuman as the pinch runner entering the game for Jacob Wilson. So he’ll take over. So here’s Rooker. 271 18 homers, 48 RBI’s. And with nobody out and the is leading one to nothing, the pitch is swung and lifted to left. This is well hit far back. He will turn and watch it fly. Home run number 19 for this allar. He catches right on the money. Let cook. One and0 for Max Muny playing in his 50th game here today. And Max Muny puts a swing on one to left field. Max my adding to the home run total here in the first. Five nothing ace. He is unloading on the Braves and DDR is in the bottom of the first. He is a hard hat and lunch pill type of ball player. And the bases are now loaded for Brent Rooker. So the inning has gone single walk single. Here comes Brian Stinker. And that’ll be it for Diddier Fuentes. Jesse Chavez making his third appearance for the Braves. His first since late April. Two two. Got it by him with a cutter. So he strikes out Rooker. They scored five runs in the first on three homers. They’ve loaded the bases here in the second. Curts. It’s a drive to right way back. Eli White at the track right to the wall. He will watch it. And it’s a grand foul. 9 nothing in favor of the A’s up on the grassy hillside the fourth A’s home run tonight and it’s an early route for the green and goal for 32 years old off speed that’s hit into left field and coming up for it sold to make the slidy catch for the nice play by Tyler and there are two away there’s that sod pended knee slide here is Butler has homerred and walked and scored an inside the park homer in the first inning to center field. This ball deep going back and Lawrence Butler has a two homer game. This one a little more traditional. Well, Lawrence Butler right now turning the Braves into the Cowardly Lions. A first pitch strike. Fast ball at the bottom of the zone versus Eli White. White with a towering fly ball to deep left center field that will fly deep to the horizon and gone. And the Braves are finally on the board as Eli White belts one way out of here. And it’s his fourth homer of the year. He just missed one back in the second inning. He got every stitch of this one. Here is Matt Olsen. One out and one on. Olsson with the ground ball to Curts. Chance for a double play. Schuman steps on the bag to Gellop and turn it A’s. Halfway through our ball game tonight after 4 and a half. It’s 10 to one Athletics. 10 to one in favor of the A’s over the Braves. Austin Riley leads it off against Jeffrey Springs. Jeffrey Springs game not without a blemish. It was the home run from Eli White. Lots of pad to work with. And this is lined into left for Riley. Soders with the throw in. It’ll be a single. Riley now one for three. Here comes Shawn Murphy. Here’s the one-two pitch and it’s swung on lifted to right center. Playable for Clark or Butler. It’s Denzel. He’s right there to make the catch. So two out, sixth inning. Alb’s a wideopen stance and the pitch is swung on. Flat ball center field. far back nearing the track. He’s at the track. It’s the edge of the warning track in straightaway center. Denzel makes all three plays in center field. Southpaw Jeffrey Spring is out on the mound working his way through six innings once again. Six hits scattered about the diamond tonight. Just one walk, a couple punch outs, 93 pitches for the left-hander. Austin Riley, the batter. Austin Riley with the liner and to right. Lawrence Butler gets down and gets dirty. A catch for Lawrence and two outs. Great reactions by Butler racing toward right center and then sliding and robbing Austin Riley of a base hit. Unfortunately, because of the game and the way things are going, Luke Williams is going to be asked to eat an inning. Had to be swung on and missed. A change up by Clark. One down. He ties up Denzel Clark. Luke Williams added to that strikeout sold. Well, here’s Butler. A 10, Braves one, one out. Bottom of the eighth. Lift it high and near the air to left. Both far slowing. He’s got two down for Max Schuman. And also a deep drive to center on the run. Fairchild to the warning track. He’s there and it’s a one, two, three inning for Luke Williams. He might win a Home Depot player of the game award for that one 123 effort there in the bottom of the eighth. Elvis Alvarado comes out of the bullpen to work for the A’s and make his second appearance at this home stand. they work on Saturday night against the Giants. And Marcelo Zuna who’ll be followed by Azie Albies and Steuart Fairchild. Marcelo Zuna to center field. Denzel Clark charging in and Denzel Clark making catches look easy. There’s Azie Alvis. Ground ball to second. Gellof to Curts. Two gone. It can only go up from here tomorrow, right? Yeah. This game just started with a gigantic splat for the Braves. And here’s the one hopper to Gellof. He’ll complete it and the A’s victorious in game one against the Braves. Hat backwards. High fives come in for the green and goal. The two homer night for the kid who grew up in Atlanta. That has to feel good. I’m loving what Jeffree Springs has been able to continue to do as far as his performance is concerned. It was all A’s tonight as they throttle the Braves with a 10-1 victory behind the power of five home runs.

HOW is Acuna an ALL Star? How many at bats does he have?
Who is that horrible female announcer? Are they deaf out west?
Did they really go to commercial in the middle of an in the park HR! Who decided that?
THE braves are just a punching bag at this point, pitchers serving up cement mixers straight down the middle and daring the A's to hit em out, well here ya go!
This is what happens when you let your best pitcher walk and you have to start a bum like this and a Kenny powers wannabe.
Acuna injured again, what's new. The poor offense production has been lingering for three years. The last two years NL playoffs reveal a poor offense and pitching. I'm a life-long Braves fan and will always stay with them. We will get better, but yes, changes need to be addressed.
Snitker needs to CHANGE what he’s doing.
This season is over, there’s no fight or pride to want to win. Since our 2021 Championship win the front office has done nothing but dismantle a great team that could have won multiple Championships. 🤦🏾♂️
God That Was Horrible
F This Atlanta Braves
Lo dije en el juego anterior, atlanta no puede seguir poniendo a fuentes, tienen que sacarlo de su roster de pitcheo. Ese chamaquito no da la talla. En 3 juego le hacen lo mismo .
Braves thought this was the same A’s team from 2 years ago. 😂
Rock Bottom! Snit is not the guy, that 1 WS win was IN SPITE OF BRIAN SNITKER! We too many playoff failures with Snit. That one year when we had one series with the Dodgers where we choked away a 3-1 lead….Snit has a minor leaguer’s mentality and it has thoroughly permeated the roster. The record setting year just like being up 3-1 on LA, there’s a tendency to get complacent and think you’ve won a ring before it’s all said and done. They aren’t serious this year and haven’t been for a few seasons (getting beat by a lesser Philly team that you dominated all year 🤮).
Lets Go OakLand. Sell the team Fisher, the people of The Town will buy.
Fire Alex and the entire coaching staff NOW!!
Braves are done for this year they can't win a game against the worst teams in the league
I will never forgive Snit for sitting everybody and taking the end of the 2023 season as a joke. That was our chance and the offense came out looking like a club that hadn’t played real ball in a month
I can’t remember the last time my Braves were this hard to watch.
The Athletics are 38-55🟢🟡⚪️
As a Mets fan nothing brings me more joy than reading the pain and agony displayed by braves fans. lol lol
Lsts Go A`s mfs be hating
Braves are an absolute embarrassment
