MLB Highlights | Blue Jays vs. White Sox – July 8, 2025

and they traded him. Vaughn got DF8. He got moved to the bullpen and a day later he was a member of the White Socks as Lucas pops it up into shallow right center. A near collision, but everybody’s okay. Another 3-2 on the way and it’s in the air to right center and well hit. Robert is back turning and it’s off the wall and Springer is on his way to second base with a double. and he sends one to center. This is going to carry out to Robert who will make the catch for the second out as Guerrero is retired on one pitch. A grounder out to second and the Blue Jays will threaten but will not score here in the top of the first. Chris Bassid getting ready to take the mound at 30 and 61 on the year. And Tauman another good swing. That is his fourth hit in six at bats over the last two nights. And this one is a double. First pitch swinging and a fly ball to shallow center field. Lucas is in and will make the catch for out number one. Ground ball to short to second one on to first in time. Bette to Clement to Guerrero to get Basset out of it in the bottom of the first. Lines it to first. It’s caught by Vargas. One down as he pops one up. you, as you said, he figures to get uh some pretty good looks and a fair number of abs. We’ll see what the roster looks like after the All-Star break is Daltton Varo back and a ground ball to second. Clement shovels it to Bette on to first in time. And for the second inning in a row, Chris Bassid gets out of it. He said, “I figured the three- 0 pitch might be the best pitch I would see.” Whoa, boy. The 3-2 hit to deep left field and well gone. [Applause] And Davis Schneider continues to make his presence felt since being recalled to the majors. That is home run number four. Davis Schneider getting the start in this ball game against the right-handed starting pitcher. But if he could prove himself and give them a reason, but they’re rising to the opportunities as well. Now Guerrero with the ground ball. Fair inside the line and all the way down into the corner. Here comes Springer towards third and he is getting the wave. There will be no relay throw as he is in to score on a double by Guerrero to make it two to nothing. Hit well to deep right center field and it’s going to get to the wall on a bounce. Guerrero is jogging home. Bette’s going to be held on an RBI double by Barger. It is three to nothing. Infield in Kirk lines the ball to center field and that’s a base hit. Bette will come in to score. Barger to third and it’s four to nothing. A broken bat, one hopper on the infield. They’ll get one but that’s it. And another run will come in. So they force Kirk, but Lopeido aboard on a fieldielder’s choice and give him an RBI as Barger comes in to score. Three and two the count on Vargas. And a swing and a miss down to a knee as he swings through a slow breaking ball for out number two. And a swing and a miss. Gilbert gets him for out number one. And it’s working for him. I’m not implying he should be. Big time starting pitcher for the time came back to the White Sox. Here’s another ground ball. Can they turn another double play? They will with ease. The third double play turned by the Blue Jays infield tonight. He slices this one to left center field and it is carrying. It is down and it is all the way to the fence and Lucas has himself a double dove. Here’s Guerrero and he lines one into left center. A base hit. Lucas will come in to score. It is bobbled out in left field and now Vlatt’s going to try for second and he’s safe. Somehow got around it. Sosa wants the White Socks to challenge. A run comes in to make it six to with the way things are going for them. Could he be a commodity? Here’s a highf fly ball to deep right and it is going to go. And the White Socks are on the board here with a Josh Rojas home run to make it six to one. [Applause] Swinging him in. Schneider strikes out. Two down. [Applause] [Music]

In a game that was called in the top of the 7th inning due to rain, the Toronto Blue Jays extended their win streak to 10 with a 6-1 victory of the Chicago White Sox.
