Do The LA Clippers Need Bradley Beal? + Jordan Miller WAIVED!
On today’s show, are the Clippers getting Bradley Beal? Are the Clippers getting Bradley Beal and Chris Paul? Gonna be talking about it all on today’s Locked On Clippers. You are Locked on Clippers, your daily Los Angeles Clippers podcast, part of the Locked On Network. Your team every day. Yes sir, you were locking in with the Clips. Thank you for making Locked on Clippers the first listen of your day, your team every day. I’m your host Darian Vizeri. Born and raised in LA and just finished my 20th season as a Clipper fan. Today’s episode is brought to you by Absolutely Nothing. So, we’re going to be talking about Bradley Beal and the potential likelihood of him being a Clipper and then are we going to get CP3 and Bradley Beal? The whole Twitter timeline’s been talking about that and that’s what Clipper fans that I’ve been talking to are talking about. And Jordan Miller waved. So, we’re going to be talking about all that in this one. Let’s start with the Beal stuff. So, I made an episode recently on Bradley Beal. I also made an episode on John Collins yesterday. If you haven’t checked that out, go check that out. But and before we get into be actually I wanted to close the book on John Collins by saying that Lawrence Frank made a comment about him and this was the official statement by the Clippers media. He said this was an opportunity to address a position and a skill set that we felt needed reinforcement. Jon is a power forward in his prime with great athleticism who can also play small ball five. He scores at all three levels, excelling in space and transition as a runner, roller, and vertical threat. He stretches the court with his shooting and helps win the possession battle with his rebounding. We’re excited to add Jon to the group. Couldn’t have said it better myself. I said all those things, a lot of those things on the episode. So, we know why we got went out and got John Collins. And then this what it was about Norman Pal. He said, “Norm has been a vital part of our organization over the past three and a half years. We want to thank him for everything he did for the Clippers on and off the court. He’s a true pro. He’s also an incredible scorer, efficient and prolific with relentless work ethic. Norm is a huge reason we won 50 games last season and we’re going to miss him. That’s what he said about Norm. So, you know, great stuff from Lawrence there. He did a great job on this trade. But let’s talk about Bradley Beal. So, this was the official news today on my Twitter timeline, and it was coming from our good friend of the show, Law Murray, saying the Clippers are the likely leaders to sign Bradley Beal if he is bought out by the Phoenix Suns. Now, I’ve seen some people say that they’re thinking it’s going to be Beal getting bought out and coming to the Clips and then CP3 going to the Suns cuz then that would be a guard spot opened up. He probably won’t start because they’ll probably start Jaylen Green, Deon Booker, and Dylan Brooks. But he’s going to be the third ball handler besides Jaylen Green and Deon Booker. And with that personnel, considering like Ryan Dunn is probably your other starter in Phoenix, CB3 might be closing a lot of games in smaller lineups, especially with now that they have some big men depth with the rookie and Mark Williams. So, and I’ll talk about the possibilities of getting CB3 and Beal in the next segment, but right now just talking about Beal, how do I feel about hearing that there’s another report from Clutch Point saying that once Bradley Beal, it says once, not if, once Bradley Beal reaches a buyout agreement with the Suns, multiple playoff contending teams will have interest in him. However, Beal and the Clippers hold mutual interest, League sources told Clutch Points. Many teams are preparing for him to immediately sign with LAC. Isn’t Isn’t it crazy? Even though Beal’s past it a little bit, like past his star days, it’s crazy that like the Clippers are often front runners for players of the caliber of James Harden and Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook and like it’s insane. The John Walls, the Demarcus Cousins, I know they were on, you know, past their primes, but it’s just that never happened before. Like we weren’t like that before. or nobody wanted to come to the Clippers. So Steve Balmer, you know, continues to make us a completely different organization. So I just like I always try to tell people to and try to tell you to keep perspective as a Clipper fan, especially if you’ve been here for the long haul longer than me or even you know, Lob City and on Sterling and on, you know, you see the difference. So but besides that, now looking at the actual basketball side of things, I’ve mentioned this. I would love Bradley Beal now that Norm’s gone if he agrees to come off the bench. That doesn’t mean he won’t end games. That doesn’t mean he won’t be our third leading ball handler cuz he will be. It should be Harden, Kawhai, and Brad. Marty Carham Brad first name. I’m preparing for it. I used to love Bradley Beal. I just think he’s shown complete unseriousness like the last five years. I saw it in Washington. You know, there was that 202122 team. They had just traded Russell Westbrook for Koozma and KCP. They weren’t. And Spencer Denwitty and I heard there was a lot of like beefing internally, but be just averaged 31 points a game. They weren’t supposed to be that bad. And I remember in the beginning of the season, they were actually good, the Wizards that year. And then when I saw them play against us and we came back from that deficit, Beiel was like looked like he wasn’t even trying out there. I was like, and I went to a Wizards space and heard their fans just going off on him. And then I talked to my friend that was a Wizards fan. He’s like, I want Beal off the team. Like it’s kind of ridiculous, especially with what he’s getting paid. He’s not a leader. You know what I’m saying? But he wasn’t when he was at his best. Uh I wouldn’t say at his best, but when he was at his most respected, I would say it was with Westbrook alongside him or with John Wall alongside him. With the Clippers, he would have Harden alongside him. And Kawhai, he’s a bonafide third option, which he was in Phoenix, but we have a different flavor. It’s not three guys that want to work in the mid-range and score from three levels and are score first. You have a James Harden who’s a pick and roll first guy. You know what I’m saying? You can argue. I don’t like to say pass first because he’s an attack first guy. You know what I’m saying? It’s the modern point guard way. You don’t come up the court and pass. You He gets into his action and passes based off his scoring gravity. James Harden. So, it’s a much better role in my opinion for Brad. But I want him to come off the bench because if we start Beal, James, Kawhai, Collins, and Zoo, who is the guy that’s going to take the best player on opposing teams to start games every night? And if people say Kawhai, they’re missing the big picture. Never has Kawi Leonard consistently in a season been the designated guy that goes out and guards the best player on our team. the way Terrence Man was deployed and the way Chris Dunner, Dererick Jones Jr. was this past season, no number one option in the league is doing that. So, it should be no different for a guy with an injury history that’s laundry list long and is on the older side of 33. He’s not guarding the best player. And I know some people are going to say, well, Bradley Beal and James Harden will ease the load off of him offensively. Why do we want Kawhi Leonard’s offensive load eased? Wasn’t it like we wanted him shooting more in the playoffs. We wanted him to get more shots off. By the way, he’s 34. He just turned 34. I don’t know why I said 33. We We should prepare this entire season as a we play through Kawhi Leonard more so than we were playing through James Harden. Like the proportion of it has to be closer than James Harden averaging four minutes per game with the ball in his hands than Kawhi in the playoffs. We need Kawhi Leonard shooting 20 shots a game like he did in 2020, which I think was his best regular season as a Clipper actually. And he’s had some really good regular seasons as a Clipper. He was awesome in 2021, he was awesome in 2024, and he was awesome in 2023 in that stretch, you know, when he came back. He’s had some great all like for the Clippers, alltime great Clipper regular seasons, all NBA. Like we haven’t had many AllNBA players in our history. It just the thing with Kawawaii is it just hasn’t always translated to the playoffs because of injury with us and this past season. I mean it wasn’t a you know we have a there’s five to 10 Kawhi Leonard series you can probably put over the one we just saw you know in terms of his incredible resume in the playoffs. So my point is this Kawhi Leonard guarding the best player on a nightly basis out of question. We don’t want that. We want him to be the guy that’s averaging for me 20 shots a game. I think 2020 was his best regular season. I truly do. He just was really the best version of himself taking over games. He looked the most athletic in that version and he didn’t have to defer to Paul George at all. It was just sometimes Lou Williams and Tres ran their two-man game late in games. But Kawhai was the guy, you know, he closed out that game against the Jazz early on. Did a good job closing opening night against the Lakers, closed out against the Raptors. A lot of home games that he closed out really well that first season. Unfortunately, it didn’t translate to the bubble uh in that second round. But the other candidate would be Jon Collins. And Jon Collins is not a guy that you want guarding the quick guards in point of attack. Like that’s, you know, navigating screens and doing all that. You want him around the rim, being a help defender to Zoo, you know, as that low man. The obvious answer for me is to have Chris Dunn or Derrick Jones Jr. starting to guard the best player and then you bring Bradley Beal and try to make him a sixman of the year candidate and then he’ll close games a lot of times. But does Beal have the I don’t want to say humility, but is he willing to sacrifice that much? He won’t be making enough from the Clippers to justify like I need to start, but he’s Bradley Behill. He’s averaged 30 plus points two years in a row. He’s objectively a better basketball player than Chris Dunn, Derek Jones Jr., and any else one else we have. But it’s about fit. You know, I don’t want to be a team that loses their defensive identity. And some people are saying, well, Chris Dunn and Derrick Jones Jr. will just come off the bench. You want both of them in off the bench, you know. I just I think it’s better to have them staggered a little bit, you know. And it was fine having them both in the lineup, you know, this year, but we had James Horn and Norman Pal with no fourman. Like Dererick Jones Jr. was playing the four in our lineups, which was crazy, but they were switchable. You know, you have to be able to if you can stay in front of the ball these days, uh that’s what matters. You know, if you can stay in front of the ball, given all the advantages that offensive players have and how much the perimeter defense face up defenders are handicapped, then you can play like a lot of times. I mean, I shouldn’t say that cuz Chris Dunn, but here’s the thing, right? Chris Dunn, maybe you could argue he should have played less, but he was on the court because he could guard. You know, to me that’s always going to be valuable. If you have to choose between a guy that can guard and can’t shoot versus a guy that can shoot and can’t guard, I’m taking a guy that can guard. Um, but why that that goes into more basketball philosophy things? We don’t have time to talk about all that. Point is, we need him. I don’t want be starting. Like, you might think I’m overreacting and like we could just come off the bench with Derek and and thing, but no, what if we start out games, we’re getting cooked by opposing guards because Bradley Beal’s guarding point of attack. I saw Bradley Beiel guarding point of attack against Minnesota in the playoffs. And yes, he wasn’t doing a horrific job, but if Bradley Beal is your best defender and he’s guarding the best Anthony Edwards, they got swept. Like, it’s not like every serious team in this league, every serious team has one guy in the starting lineup designated to guard the other team’s best ball handler. Aaron Nesmith for the Pacers. The Thunder have two. It’s mainly Lou Dortto though, and then they have Jaylen Williams, and then they have Kase Wallace and Alice Caruso off the bench. And we wonder why they win a championship. And then you go to the teams that lost, for example, in the conference finals. The Knicks have OG and Mikuel Bridges. The Minnesota Timber Rolls have Jaden McDaniels. You know, you go to the teams that lost in the second round. The Cavs have Max Struce on the weaker side, but he’s still a guy that’s better than any, he would be a better defender. He’s not better than Kawhi Leonard defensively, but he would be better than what we have if we start Beal. And then you’ve got, you know, the Nuggets have Aaron Gordon and Christian Brown. You know, they’re no slouches at all. Look at the job that Christian Brown did on James Harden and what Aaron Gordon was able to do on Kawhi Leonard besides game two. So it’s a real thing. So in my opinion, the thing is I’m really down for Beal. It seems like it’s very likely to happen if there’s the buyout. But he for me if he’s coming with the demand of I need to start see you like you know see you can go to Milwaukee. Like we can’t have those kind of egos in the locker room especially with be his track record the last couple years isn’t great. Coming up though, we’re going to be talking about the possibility of getting CP3 and Bradley Beal. Going to be talking about that coming up. I got to tell you a little something about Monarch Money. Ever wish managing your money felt easier? To be honest with you, I don’t even know if I’m still paying for my YMCA. I didn’t know I was paying for my YMCA membership all these months. You know, I’ve been moving houses, moving locations. My the YMCA that I used to go to burned down in the fires and I didn’t realize I was paying for the new one cuz right after the fires, I was trying to get my kids some extra gym time. So, I signed up and I forgot that I didn’t take it off. And Monarch Money reminded me of that cuz Monarch Money is more than a budgeting app. It’s a complete financial command center. You can track all your accounts, investments, and spending in one place. So, in addition to managing your money, you’re also building wealth. Take control of your finances with Monarch Money. Use code locked on MBA at monarchmoney.com for 50% off your first year. That’s monarchmoney.com. Code lockedonba for half off your first year. All right. So, talking about the likelihood of Beal becoming a Clipper, again, I’m down for it if he’s down to come off the bench. If he wants to start, cuz here’s the thing, he can start when Kawhai’s out. And Kawhi’s not going to play every game. The second Kawhai or James Harden missed the game. He’s starting. He’s not going to like be exclusively off the bench. If he has that big of an ego, like with he’s is he trying to win? See, I don’t know if he’s really trying to win like that. Like of course he’s trying to, but there’s levels to this and Bradley Beal has not shown that much seriousness in regards to winning. If you guys don’t know what I’m talking about, go watch game four of the Timber Rules series against them and tell me that that’s acceptable. That was a quick job and every Suns fan could see it. But I think the Clippers have shown that they can revive a guy, but I don’t think we need to speak about Bradley Beal like he needs reviving. Like he’s still a bucket. Like he’s still a very good basketball player. I just think you want to minimize you want to maximize his value by not giving him too big a role and I think coming off the bench hand like he can start out by playing with Harden before he comes out play off the ball and then when Harden comes out he can play more on the ball he can get a lot of on ball reps and I could see him averaging a good 16 four rebounds and five or six assists per game or you know five assists per game that would be really good on very efficient shooting and then at and end the games. We have his offball threat. He can attack close outs. There could just so many things he could do. Honestly, 15 is is generous. Um or it’s not generous. It’s a little too hard. I’m thinking like 17 18 points a game because we just have better players than Phoenix did. He averaged 17 last year, but we have better players than they did. Not as many scorers, but we have to remember it’s not just James and Kawhai. We want to continue to develop Zoo. We want to make him an all-star. And I have an episode planned soon about that. why Vita Zubots is going to be an all-star next year. However, if we get Bradley Beal, I don’t know how much how confident I am in that take just because it’s going to take the shots away from Zoo and it’s going to it’s going to take some. But I still think it’s worth the swing because if he comes off the bench, I’m telling you, you don’t promise him anything. That’s the thing with Westbrook. It felt like we kind of promised him like you’re the point guard. Like we needed a point guard, you’re our guy. Had that experience without Paul George and Kawhai in the playoffs and then we replace him. So for me, if we don’t promise Bradley Beal anything, he comes off, he can still give us 25 minutes a game. You know what I’m saying? And it also will allow us to leave James Horn on the bench for longer stretches. We don’t always have to be so reliant on James cuz while Bradley Beal is not a great pick and roll player, as the Suns fans saw, he can still do it. He can still do it better than Norman Pal ever could dream of. And I love Norman Pal. But that’s why I say Beal is better at basketball. I just think be norm pal has not touched those heights of beal. Beal is a got a bag man. He’s got good footwork. You know, he’s step back going both ways. He can pull up going both ways. Like be is nice when it comes to scoring. I just think that sometimes like and I don’t mean to discredit what he did, but I remember saying when I watched Bradley Beal play like it of any player I’ve ever seen drop 30 in the NBA like average 30, his felt the most ineffective. And I don’t mean they wasn’t affected, but it just felt like there were very few takeovers and there were baskets a lot of times when, you know, it wasn’t a big momentum swing or a team just made a run and he kind of stopped the bleeding, but you know, someone is going to have to score the points eventually because you’re getting your ass kicked. It was kind of that kind of thing. It didn’t feel the same way that the James Harden 30 or the Westbrook 30 or, you know, Embiid or Joic or SGA or Kobe or Dwayne Wade or LeBron, you know, it just didn’t feel Carmelo. I don’t even know if Carmemella averaged 30. Kevin Durant, it just didn’t feel that way watching it, and I watched a lot of games of the Wizards. But that being said, let me just say this. No matter what era you play in, and of course, you know, in my opinion, this is definitely the easiest era to score in, and I think anybody could tell you that that the the game is designed that way. And the players that the lineups that were putting out there are designed to make it easier offensively. But Bradley Beal scoring, averaging 30 points in any era of the NBA is something to acknowledge. It shows how good you are at putting the damn ball in the basket. Even though I said that about Beal, that his 30 didn’t feel like, you know, the 30 of other guys just didn’t feel like, you know, takeovers late game. It felt like Westbrook was the man on that team. Even though Beal was averaging 30. How many How many teams could you ever say that if a player is averaging 30, they don’t feel like the man? That was the first time I think I could ever think about something like that. It he didn’t feel like the man. The change came from when Westbrook turned up and was back from injury. If any Wizards fan remembers that season, Bradley Beal in the beginning of the season was just dropping buckets that weren’t leading to anything. And because part of it was like he’s not playing defense really either. So it’s like if you’re just exchanging baskets, like that’s not winning basketball. Like all those other guys I named Embiid, Joic, Kobe, LeBron when they were averaging 30 points, it’s not like they were just dogging it on defense and they be in the beginning of that season. So the free Beal stuff, I never bought that because he wasn’t the points just didn’t feel impactful. But here’s the thing and why it doesn’t matter at all. I’ve Norman Pal I would never even have that kind of story because no one’s paying that much attention to Norman Pal and I love him but Beal was a star. So of course I’m paying attention being hyper critical of him and this and that. 30 points a game in the NBA for two seasons in a row. One of them was on a playoff team. He is a worse version of that. So like a a very good role player. But my overall take is this. I don’t think we need him and Chris Paul. That’s way too many guards. Overkill. We get older and slower. And Bogeie is still on this team. It feels like everybody that’s saying Chris Paul and Beal are saying that Bogei’s going to get traded. Should we trade Bogey for Chris Paul, like would we rather have Chris Paul that much more than Bogey if we already get Beal? Because then you have like if you start Beal, it’s Chris Dunn, Chris Paul, and Bogey off the bench. Chris Paul, Bogey, and Chris Dunn. Like, that’s that’s okay. It’s too small. It’s too small because then what about Derek? That’s 11 guys. We don’t need 11 guys. Unless Bogey gets traded. If Bogey gets traded, then fine. We can have Chris Paul and Beal. Cool me. But they should They’re not going to both agree to come off the bench. It’s just too many big personalities. We don’t need that. We don’t need Tailoo to get too many ideas playing guards. Everyone’s saying Chris Paul and Beal. I think what’s going to happen is if Beal comes to the Clippers, Beal’s going to CP is going to Milwaukee. I’m sorry, Phoenix. He’s going to Phoenix. We should not get both. That would be ludicrous. That’s just looking for big names and over prioritizing guards. But here’s the thing. Lawrence Frank when he talked, he did say something about, you know, Clippers now have to slide Kawhi Leonard, have the ability to slide Kawhai back to the small forward alongside John Collins. Mentioned a couple other possible lineup combinations. This is Joey Lynn tweeting. Possible lineup combinations including Zoo and Lopez together. So, it’ll be interesting to see that. no foot speed, drop coverage merchants, you can say, meaning that they play exclusively drop coverage. Uh maybe slow on the perimeter, but it’s huge. And in terms of offense, I can see it working because Brook Lopez can shoot. Lawrence Frank, this is another tweet by Joey. He said, “Lawrence Frank said, the Clippers have addressed their front court need, but still need to continue addressing their need for more shooting and playmaking.” Bradley Beal checks off that box. I just don’t think we need both and CP3. He said they and in in addition to that tweet or in in addition in that tweet Joey said he said they entered the offseason wanting to check those three boxes and still feel the last two can use more help. And then he says we’re not done. The are other needs we have to address. So there you have it. We’re definitely going to make a move for one of these guys. I think I would like it to be Beal but if it comes with here’s our new starting lineup. It’s Harden. It’s Beal. It’s Kawawaii. It’s Zoo. It’s just it’s very star stuttered. It’s going to be clown when we lose again like hard and be they’ve just had moments where they’ve gone out so weird in the playoffs. Let’s make Beal exclusively a six-man or no, again, I’m going to go back to saying it. No serious team doesn’t start with a guy that can guard the best player. Let’s just invite us to get torched and ruin the defensive identity that we established. I know we have John Collins and Zoo in the back. Who do people think Jon Collins is? He’s a good He’s going to be good, but he’s not some locked down defender on the perimeter. And I don’t want Kawhai guarding the best on the other team. I want Kawhai getting going offensively. But coming up, going to talk about Jordan Miller getting waved. Yeah, I was shocked, too. All right, so Bradley Beal very likely rumored to be a Clipper. We’re still waiting on the news for the buyout in Phoenix and his contact contract getting stretched. I’m down for Beal. He just needs to come off the bench in my opinion. He’ll start when Kawhai’s out. Um if can’t buy into that, no way because I need we needed a point of attack defender, a good on ball defender starting. We were a top three defense in the league. It kept us in many games and we should not deviate from that because our offense wasn’t good enough. Now Chris Paul has been in rumored with the Clippers. If we get Chris Paul Beiel and still have Bogey Sanara, it’s going to be an it’s gonna be a train wreck, I think. Now, there too many guards before we talk about Jordan Miller being waved, which was shocking in my opinion. By the way, Bradley Beiel last year averaged 32 minutes a game. So, if he’s averaging 25 26 minutes, yeah, I could see him averaging, you know, 16 three and five. 163. That’s that’s not bad for a sixman averaging 163 and five and on really good splits. You know, he shot 50 39 80 last year. But also, he was a starter for them. You know what I’m saying? But that’s the thing like the Suns started Booker, Tyus Jones, and Beal. Who was guarding the best player? Beal. They sucked. They sucked. They sucked. Of course, they didn’t have a center in like Zubots, but it’s that’s that’s that’s too many guards. And people are like, “Harden and Norm started together last year.” Yeah. Alongside Chris and Dererick Jones for majority of the season or one of them. You need that guy. Every serious team has it. Now we can be on serious though. Let’s start be and just promise him a starting spot. Like this is 2016. Clippers got us not be so married to big names. That’s what had us having a good season last year. And I’m not saying that about Beal. I’m just saying don’t give them so much power. So we saw what happened with Westbrook getting him only to replace him and then you know he was a malcontent the rest of the season. Everyone everyone knows that now. Anyway, Lawrence Frank said we saw in the Denver series where Aaron Gordon was super effective. I think John gives us another big body in a different dynamic. What who did I say John Collins is going to be trying to be like our PJ Washington or Aaron Gordon. So look they see what we see fellas. They see what we see. Grant moneya I’m going be seeing him in Vegas says Lawrence Frank says that they do not want to be nimble and flexible move says they do want to be nimble and flexible moving forward and also mentioned that Steve Bomber wants to remain competitive at all times. So anybody talking about a youth movement. I’m actually going to do an episode on that as well. Why we don’t do a youth movement. And Lawrence also said Kawawaii is excited about the trade because have to guard those bigger guys. So, and someone asked apparently about Collins defensively on the Clippers, and Lawrence said, “I do think that he’s going to rise to the level of what we’re doing here. They’re going to challenge him and push him.” And they, I assume means Jeff Van Gundy. So, Jordan Miller got waved. I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it. But I’m just reading the people that know more about the cap and the salaries and all this. uh let let them, you know, talk about it. Everyone’s saying though that he could be back on the team on a two-way contract. He was on our summer league roster, so I don’t know. Like, is he still going to be on our summer league roster? I think he is. Joey Lynn tweeted, “Jordan Miller was the last player on the court yesterday, still working out after Clippers summer league practice. hard worker and really nice person. Hope he finds a good opportunity somewhere. That’s what Joey said. Dude, I’m not saying Jordan Miller was a future star. He didn’t prove much in terms of like his outside shooting and that he had anything outside that nice euro step and that deceleration and he had a good ability to get fouled. Um, but that euro step against the bigger, more athletic actual NBA defenders didn’t do didn’t do too much. Everybody knew he didn’t really have the ability to go right or have a consistent shot yet. However, he never really got extended burn. He had a run last season when guys were out or he played a bit, you know, especially when Kawhai was out, but when we look at his game log, you know, he had some good days and he had some very quiet days. He probably wasn’t ready to be in a rotation for a team that was a 50-in team in the NBA, but is he an NBA player? Is he someone that could be a decent NBA player in the future? Maybe he needs a greater opportunity to find that out. My only thing is this. How many guys are we going to do this with? We draft an older player because we’re like, “Oh, maybe he can contribute now. He’s got that experience. He played multiple years in college. We never give them a chance because I guess we miss on them. They’re clearly not good enough to get into our rotation.” And for those wondering, like, “Yeah, but you have to play young players to get them, you know, to get confidence.” The problem is that comes at the expense of the winning in the short term, which is what the franchise is more concerned about with guys that are like on their last good years when we’re talking Kawhai and Harden and Paul George. So, they’re not going to do that. And I’ll talk more about that in that episode. But like I thought Jordan Miller was somebody that we were a little higher on just given how well he played in summer league last year and that he did get some, you know, burn last season during the season. I’m going to go to his game log right now because I just want to have some clarity on that. But honestly, let me just see what people were saying. But it says that they we might get him back on a on a two-way. But if he Joey Lynn said if he clears waiverss, the team can keep him in the organization. He would presumably stay on the summer league roster, but he’s now eligible to be claimed by another team. So I’d love to see him in summer league. Of course, I’m going to be down there this weekend and for the first time I’m going to be media, so it’ll be really cool. Uh hopefully I’ll get to say something to Jordan Miller. That’d be that’d be cool. Um but yeah, it’s Jake Fischer reported that for I think Jake Fcher was uh the Yahoo was he used to be Yahoo. Now it says he’s part of the Stein line. But anyway, he said the Clippers have released Jordan Miller if he clears waiverss. Los Angeles still intends to keep him as part of the organization and play summer league. It doesn’t say anything past summer league though. But anyway, Miller was making $350,000. Oh, it’s I’m sorry. No, Justin Russo reported that $350,000 of Jordan Miller’s salary this upcoming season was due to be guaranteed on July 15th. So now we don’t have to pay him that. So it’s a financial move. It puts the Clippers roughly $8.9 million below the first apron hard cap with 12 players on the roster, 11 plus Yanik Neerhouser. So, we have three more open roster spots. We’re deciding what we’re going to do with our two-way spots and those remaining three roster spots. So, it was definitely a, you know, clearing cap kind of move. So, uh there’s always financial implications to these things, especially with this new CBA. This new CBA has, you know, changed the ball game. So, yeah, Brett Seagull, the clutch points guy, said the same thing. wave Jordan Miller opening up $8.9 million in cap flexibility under the first apron to pursue a player using the rest of their mid-level exception and a vet minimum. So, we’ll see what we do with that. But, I don’t know. I felt like a lot of Clipper fans were like pretty high on Jordan Miller potentially in the future. You know, he showed those flashes in summer league. And I know some being a good summer league player doesn’t mean that you’re necessarily going to be good in the NBA, but it just feels like guys keep coming and going with the Clips. And we just never give them a chance. And you know, none of them have panned out to be anything too crazy besides Shay, of course. You know, Brandon Boston had some good minutes, but the team sucked. The Pelicans this year, uh, had some good moments. Keon Johnson’s had some good moments with the Nets, but they sucked. You know what I mean? So, not it’s not like Jay Scrub did anything. Otu, Cabin Galle, like they didn’t do anything. So, some of these guys just weren’t good enough. And maybe Kobe Brown and Jordan Miller are part of that. But I just I don’t know. Jordan Miller, I like him. He was making 1 million this year and then this upcoming season he would have been making two million. So, it was non-g guaranteed. So, now they have to pay him all that. So, they waved him. Harsh business. So, yeah, it cleared a couple million dollars off the cap. He was under contract, but it was not fully guaranteed. So, I hope Jordan Miller ends up back on the Clippers. Man, I really do. Another guy gone by the wayside. But anyway, we’re going to be talking about why the Clippers don’t do a youth movement in the next episode. Also going to be doing a Clippers Mount Rushmore episode. I got suggested to do that, so I’m going to do that. And then we’re going to be analyzing the summer league roster. So, you’ll probably get I don’t know about that Mount Rushmore episode. We gonna have to maybe wait on that. How curious would you guys be on that? Do you or you guys want just current news? cuz was talking to some people somewhere like make a biggest clipper heartbreaks episode and I’m like are people want to hear that? Is that too negative? I would love to reflect but like are you guys willing to hear that? So let me know in the comments what you think of those episode suggestions. But yeah, a lot going on now. It’s getting it’s it’s ramping up again. So it’s nice to see I see the view count going up as well. So I appreciate you guys rocking with me. If you’re at summer league in Vegas this weekend, holler at your boy. I’m gonna be around there. I’m be sporting the clips of course. Although I can’t from the media section, but you know what? You know, you know I’m always sporting the clips, man. You can follow me on Twitter and Instagram at Dimeropper Pod. Subscribe to my own YouTube channel, Dimeropper, where I’m releasing playoff content on the other series that were not the LA teams because I didn’t do that during the season during the playoffs. So, better late than never kind of deal. And of course, going live reacting to moves. I reacted to the John Collins trade on my own channel as well. So, also make sure you keep subscribing to this. I see the number going up. Let’s get to 8K. So, yeah, 8K. I’m trying to get there. Could we get there before the season starts? Like, that’s the challenge. Let’s get to 8,000 subscribers before the season starts. By the end of the season, we’re talking 10. We’re talking 10. We’re Clipper Nation. We’re a bigger nation than people think. The age profit continues. Go Clippers.

You do know Kris Dunn can score too right? Like he's a good scorer, I'm sure Ty Lue can utilise his scoring ability more
He’s not coming to the clippers if he’s not starting!
Why do we even draft players they don’t get minutes to show what they’ve got. It’s been incredibly frustrating. Thanks ty 😒
Kawhi is on his 'Jordan in the Summer of 95' ish
He been dominating NBA competition on one good knee for the last 4 years… Now he's ten toes down. Go Clips
that's so symbolic for our present team – chasing injury prone retiring stars and let young talents go..
Bruh/ I’ve been trying to tell people, Beal and harden back court is not it in 2025, look there matchups, Beal would be guarding j dub/ shai, Beal ainr chasing curry, amen, ant like hell get cooked, that past champions have all had some kind of defensive 2 Jamal/Braun, this isn’t the vision u less he comes offf the bench and he won’t do that
What's the use of keep getting or keeping players that U know won't show up in the big games . The Clippers need young talent. And to give some of them a chance . Something that overated TY lou Doc Rivers the 2nd won't do . I'm surprised he's not fired . People get fired for less !!!!
Same ole shit, different season. Releasing young guys and bringing in washed up stars. Gotta luv my clips.
Ballmer needs to trade leonard and harden for lamelo and lonzo ball!🙏
Spot on with Dunn and Jones staggered. I do want Dunn to have the minutes to get a all defensive team too lol.
People saying Beal should start. SMH.
It doesnt matter who starts, whatever doesn't work can be fixed with a substitution. Too much is put into who starts and who guards who. Start the 5 best players and go from there. No one is cooking harden, beal, leonard, collins and zubac when they are outscoring everyone….dunn and jones jr did nothing in the playoffs they both got cooked on offense and defense 😂 so that idea makes no sense. I watched beal for years on the wiz, his issues are related to point guard play around him…he cant play pg just like norm powell. When asked to do that he isnt that great.
Maybe Brogdon is the other player 🤔. The Clippers are going all in these next two years as much as possible and I honestly would like both CP3 and Beal. Beal to replace Norm and CP3 to run Harden like actions while Harden sits or misses time because our offense stunk without him. Plus we can't expect Lebron type health from Harden forever he needs rest if we expect a deep playoff run because he looked tired in that game 7.
Kawhi should not take 20 shots a game during the regular season. His minutes and shot attempts should be down in the regular season so that he can preserve himself for the Playoffs.
I don't get the need for Beal. His stats are meaningless and don't translate to winning.
It's always the same song and dance. They draft and miss then part with. I'd like to see some resemblance of development before cutting ties. Boston Jr had the 27 pt game which I thought would build towards something but didnt. Same with Manns 38 pt game. If I'm a rookie or young player, The Clippers aren't desirable. With that said not having picks to rebuild doesn't matter when you can't draft or develop.
If Clippers get Beall then he should be 6th man and come off the bench. Starters are Harden, Jones Jr, Leonard, Collins and Zu. Bench unit: Beall, Bogi, Dunn, Batum and Lopez. Only exhange that makes sense to me is Dunn and Jones Jr sharing time between the starting lineup and bench based on matchups. But like Dime said, Beall will likely to start games anyway when Kawhi is out
The L Frank impersonation 😂😂
Darian, Great Show and take on Beal🤓👌🏽🔥!!
Roll the dice with B. Shaw!!!
T Lue over uses Harden so Harden can run the offense and JVG runs the defense but T Lue still gets his bag💰. He proved this in his poor coaching/decision-making in the 2025 playoffs👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Bogi sucks 😂😂😂😂 I’d rather have Paul than Bogi he’s never done anything and then he had the opportunity and he sucked!! V
Why are Clippers so married to Ty Lue and continually give him a pass for being mediocre at best especially during the playoffs when we need a smart coach with championship aspirations and a win now attitude??!!!
He has demonstrated none of these qualities the last four years yet comes back every year with the front office expecting different results 👎🏽
No cris Paul . Keep bogdanovic and Beal is the deal.
Prob waved Miller cause their intentions are to get both Beal and Paul
Ty Lou can not help himself but start Beal if acquired. Ty philosophy is, let's lose 15 games first before we make any adjustments smh.
Isn’t it funny how LAC is the “little brother” in LA yet everyone wants to come here🤔
Jordan Miller for Cam Christie
Don't care about Rushmore . And don't want a biggest clipper let down.
