Good. Perfect place for a goalie to development. NHL clause after year 4
Important to note, this doesn’t mean he won’t come over for five seasons. Michkov wasn’t supposed to come over for three years, but came after one. So don’t go jumping off a bridge at this news.
If he comes after four years, that would be fine. Would probably take that long anyway for most dudes in NA, they’d just do it in the CHL/NCAA/AHL instead. Whenever he comes, he should be NHL ready, so the timeline isn’t a big deal, especially if we get him a year or two early, which is possible.
This is actually good for the people who are going to knee jerk and have a mental breakdown like you those on twitter. NHL clause in year 4, NHL goalies legit take years with most taking their rookie starts at 23-24 and Pyotr will be going against actual men.
There is nothing wrong with this timeline and this why goalies and skaters are drafted/evaluated differently.
For example Dustin wolf and Jet started in the league at 23. These are considered slightly “early” by NHL standards
