EVERYONE is speaking out about this… | Cincinnati Bengals News
Everyone is talking about this during this offseason and of course it’s Joe Burrow. Everyone’s talking about him all the time. Welcome back to the Bengals Digest channel. I’m Carson Loki. Hopefully you guys are having an amazing day. And yes, this is a different setup. Like I said, um I’ll update more at the end of the episode, but I’m no longer in Austin, Texas. I’m back um in Florida. Um and a little hint, I will be moving soon. Right now I’m in Jacksonville, but I will be moving soon um to Gainesville, Florida. So, that’s a little hint, but I’ll give a little bit more of an update at the end of this video. And Joe Burrow, he is the most talked about Cincinnati Bengal, probably in franchise history. He’s the best player in Bengals history. I don’t think if it’s even close. I mean, I think Joe Burrow is without a doubt in my mind the best Cincinnati Bengals player ever. The best player to ever wear the stripes, the orange and black. I think he’s the best to ever do it. And that deserves and makes sense why everyone talks about him so much. And one of the biggest things people discuss when talking about Joe Bro is that MVP. Um, and after this, I’ll give my opinion on the MVP. Um, but a lot of people even at the end of last season were shouting that Joe Burrow should win the MVP. Um, and I was I didn’t think he was going to win it, but I was one of those people saying, “Hey, we should look at Joe Burrow a lot more for the MVP award because of the award itself.” What is the name of the award? M MVP most valuable player not the best player in the league which I think he is one of them or if not the best player in the league but most valuable player to that team that’s what the MVP is and without a doubt in my mind there was no one more valuable to their team than Joe Burrow last season for the Cincinnati Bengals despite not making the playoffs he was the most valuable to any team if Joe Burrow was not a Bengal last season, the Bengals would have went like three and 13 or three and 14, sorry, whatever the math is. We would have won maybe two or three games if Joe Burrow was not a Bengal last season. That’s how valuable Joe Burrow was to the Cincinnati Bengals last season. And now a lot of people are predicting that Joe Burrow will finally win his first NFL MVP next season after the 2025 2026 um season season. Um, that’s what I’m going to talk about today, those reports, um, and what they had to say. And I’ll discuss if I agree, disagree, and why I dislike the MVP award. NFL analysts pick Joe Burrow to win MVP this season. You could easily make the argument he could have won it last year despite missing the playoffs. Like I just said, the race for MVP in the NFL is always a tight one. Over the past two seasons, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen have taken home the honors, leaving the other as the runnerup. deservedly so. However, Sports Illustrated Albert Burr is picking Joe Burrow to break through their competition for the award. Oh, wrong one. There we go. This is what he had to say. The wild thing is that he could have won it last year, which he should have been more of a conversation. Beard wrote, “In a season when the Bengals didn’t even make the playoffs, he threw more yards, 4,918 and touchdowns, 43, than anyone else, and had the most throws, 652, and completions, 462, while maintaining the fourth highest completion percentage, 70.6, in all of football. His passer rating of 108 was 108.5, sorry, was third. And he accomplished all of that with the NFL’s 30th ranked run game alongside him and the league’s 25th ranked defense playing opposite him, giving him a heavy burden week to week. That’s without even getting into THEN’s health or Jamar Chase’s contract standoff, which forced Cincinnati to integrate younger players at the receiver spot on the fly. Exactly. This is the big reason why I think Joe Bar should have been more in the conversation last year. Um, I think this is getting into a little bit of my opinion on the MVP. I think the award doesn’t make sense. Um, if you want it to be the best player or the more the most flashy player, um, name it something else. Don’t name it the MVP. Name it like how college football college football is called the Heisman. It’s the greatest college football player, the most outstanding college football player. It’s not the most valuable college football player because when you get to the most valuable that changes the outlook of the trophy. The Heisman is just the best player. The player that stands out the most. Last season it was Travis Hunter. He deservedly won it. MVP. The name of the award means that it should be given to the most valuable player for a specific team in the entire NFL. Um, obviously last season it was Josh Allen. Before that it was Lamar Jackson. And Lamar Jackson wins it a lot because he is what the most flashy player in the NFL. So, he should have some MVPs for that. Um, with how the award is structured now. The award is structured as what the Heisman is is college football. College football. The Heisman is the most outstanding player. That’s what the MVP is for NFL. That’s why I think they need to change the name. It’s not the MVP. Call it something else. Call it the Madden Award if you want. I whatever you want to call it, but name it something other than MVP because when you bring in the MVP, that’s a like I said a diff completely different category of award than just the greatest outstanding player of the league. Like Josh Allen was one really valuable valuable to his team obviously, but he was also probably the most outstanding player that season. So he got the MVP last year or two years ago. Lamar Jackson, he’s always one of the best and most flashy players in the league because he can throw like crazy and because he can run like crazy. So, he’s going to win the award a lot more because that’s what people like to see. But elsewhere, as I continue reading, NFL’s.com Jeffrey Chad also picked Burrow to take home his first NFL MVP awards. Let’s read that. This is what we had to say. Burrow is going to receive a lot of attention for this honor because he got plenty last year when the Bengals were stumbling and fumbling their way through a frustrating season that ended with missing the playoffs for the second straight year. There were people out there loudly saying that Burrow deserved to contend for the game’s top individual award because of sheer productivity. He led the league in passing yards and touchdowns while only throwing nine interceptions. It is true that Burrow would have had a strong case if Cincinnati had made the postseason in 2024. It’s even more logical to think that more people will be be singing his praises if he repeats those efforts. The Bengals made it clear that he wanted to keep his h weapons happy. Obviously extending Jamar Chase and T. Higgins. It’s also still a mystery as to what Cincy’s defense will look like after an offseason that has included contract disputes with all pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson and first round pick Jamar Stewart, the hiring of new defensive coordinator Al Gordon, and some high-profile personnel changes. If the Bengals return to the playoffs, then their offense is going to be prolific. That puts Burrow in a position to earn a lot of love. Burrow should have been in conversation more despite the Bengals missing the playoffs. Like I said, if the Bengals can make it back there, it would be a good guess the Burrow finally gets his first MVP award uh or trophy, sorry. Burrow would be just the third Bengal to win the award after Ken Anderson in 1981 and Boomeras in 1988. Each of whom accomplished it in their primes. The Bengals locking up Jamar Chase and Tigans for the long term gives Burough a good chance at being the first to win it multiple times for the Cincinnati playoff drought. So I think it’s fair to say that the Bengals, yes, if they want Joe Burrow to win an MVP, and I think he will win multiple MVPs in his career, um we have to get back to the playoffs. We have to be that 14 and3 team, that 15-2 team, um 13-4 team. We have to be one of those teams that is consistently at the top of the league, which we should be, and consistently a team that is competing competing for AFC Championship and the Super Bowl. Um, which I think we should be already. But to get into my little adog to it a little bit, but I think the MVP, it’s so confusing to me cuz it’s never the most valuable player. I think without a doubt, looking at last season, the most valuable player to any one team last season was Joe Burrow to the Cincinnati Bengals. Like I said, if Burrow wasn’t on the Bengals last year, we would have went three and 14 most likely, but because Joe Burrow was on the team, we went nine and eight and had a winning record and almost made it to the playoffs in a year where we should haven’t should have been disqualified from it um week 10. That’s how valuable was Joe Burrow was to the Bengals. And I think Joe Burrow every year, even when we made the playoffs until now, I don’t think people realize how much he is carrying the Cincinnati Bengals. Like everyone talks about his weapons. Yeah, he has Jamar Chase Teiggins. He has great weapons. He has a great onetwo punch in the wide receiver room, but that’s it. That’s basically all Joe Burrow has. He doesn’t have a defense. He doesn’t have an offensive line. He hasn’t really had a running game. Even with Joe Mixon, it was good, but it wasn’t great. And now Chase Brown, he’s starting to get up there, but it’s still not great. Joe Burrow, yes, he has weapons, but that’s all he has. He has Jamar Chase Teigans. That’s it. That is it. Joe Burrow has been carrying the Bengals since he’s got there. He carried them to the the Super Bowl. Go look back at our offensive line from the Super Bowl. Pretty much none of them are in the league anymore because that’s how bad they are. Joe Bro carried this team, carries this team every single year. And yes, he has weapons that help him. But he is the main reason why the Bengals do so well because he carries the team that dramatically. If you take Burrow out of the Bengals, we go three and 14 with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. If you take Lamar Jackson out of the Ravens, they still go to the playoffs because of how stacked they are. They have freaking like nine allp pros on their team. The most out of any team. The Ravens have the most AllPros on their team. If you take Lamar Jackson off of the Ravens, and yes, I know he adds a lot of value um and pro productivity to the Ravens. Yes, I know that. But if you take him out, they still make the playoffs. But even Josh Allen, if you take Josh Allen off the Bills, they’re a lot less or a lot worse than they would be if Josh Allen is on the team. Obviously, I could say the same thing with the Ravens, but the Ravens would still make the playoffs if Lamar Jackson was not on the team and they did it. We literally played them in the playoffs when Lamar Jackson was not on the team or injured most of the season and they still made the playoffs and they still almost beat us in Cincinnati. Lamar Jackson is a freak of nature. He’s a great player, but he’s not more valuable to the Ravens than Joe Burrow is to the Bengals. Josh Allen, a great player, phenomenal player, but he’s not more valuable to the Bills than Joe Burrow is to the Bengals. Patrick Mahomes, he’s a dominant freaking nature player, but he’s not more valuable to the Chiefs than Joe Burrow is to the Bingle. Joe Burrow is the most important player to any team in the entire NFL. That’s how much he carries this incident. That’s why I think the MVP award, I don’t hold it to high standards. Like when anybody tries to argue with me like that Lamar Jackson’s better than Joe Burrow, I don’t think Lamar Jackson’s better than Joe Burrow. I have Joe Burrow number two right now. I think it goes Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, then Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson. You can flip them. I don’t care. Um but when anybody tries to argue with that Joe Burrow is or Lamar Jackson is better than Joe Burrow, they always bring up the MVPs. What? He has three MVPs. I’m like, I do not care. I don’t think the MVP is an award we should be using to lift up a player. To me, the MVP is more of a now is more of a popularity contest. That’s if you’re the most flashy player in a season. If you do the craziest highlights or if you’re a quarterback that likes to run, you’re likely going to win the MVP. Joe Burrow, it’s going to be like last season, he’s going to have to be have a historic season to win the MVP because he doesn’t use his leg as much as Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen. That’s the reality of it. MVP is award for the most flashiest player in the league now. And it’s a quarterback award obviously, but because they’re the most important players on the team, but anyways, the MVP is no longer the most valuable player. If it was the most valuable player, Joe Burrow would have won it last season despite not making the playoffs. He was the most valuable player to any one team in the entire league. That’s why I think the MVP is a little bit not stupid, but I don’t put it in high regard. Um because the award isn’t what the what it says it is. The award isn’t what it says it is. Um and it’s always just going to be the flashiest player. So, I don’t really put high regard in the MVP. I would like to see Jober win it one day, and I think he will. I think he’ll win it multiple times um in his career, but I’m more concerned about us making the playoffs. I would rather make it to the playoffs, win the AFC Championship again like Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen haven’t done um and make it to the Super Bowl, which Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson haven’t done, and then next time win it, um instead of losing it in the Super Bowl. But that’s it for my spiel about the MVP. I think once again, I think Joe B is going to win it eventually. Um and like I said, I’m more concerned about us getting back to the playoffs where we should be every single year. But thank you so much for watching this Bingles Dest channel. Joe Burrow is the best ever in Bengals history???!!! I take it you just started watching football the last couple of years. How am I subscribed to this channel?
I love Joe but he's not even top 10 all time at his position and the bengals have the best left tackle of all time in Anthony Munoz
Munoz, Krumrie, Pickens, Ocho Cinco, just to name a few.
