I know it’s just summer league but I can’t help it, I am SO excited for this guy
He didn’t look he was forcing much either! Just playing in the flow, super active on the glass, deceptively fast, great instincts, good hands (!), didn’t foul a ton. A near triple double, what an incredible debut!
French 2: Wemberinger.
They missed one too. He got a fingertip on a Derek Queen shot and they called it an airball. 4 blocks in his first 4 minutes

They have Victor Wembenyama but we have Joan Beringer
I could not be happier with his debut. I can already hear the non-stop complaining about his playing time once the season starts.

There were times when he was out muscled for the ball, once he puts on some weight/strength, watch out.
If Juan Berenguer is Señor Smoke, then Joan Beringer should be Monsieur Bloc (pronounced Bl-OH-k)

Wonder if he gets minutes if Gobert needs to rest some games.
He seems really polished in the defensive end and is pretty strong. Seeing him recover after Missi shoulder push him is such a fun thing to watch.

Saw the dude making a floater, if he can make that move somewhat reliable like poeltl or hartenstein had, he’s gonna be amazing.
I’m fully ready to overreact at this point.
He still looks raw on the offensive side, and he get’s sucked in too much on rebounds,
BUT
His defensive positioning and awareness is just so.f-ing.awesome. On that end of the court, you 100% cannot tell he’s only been playing 4 years. He really looks to have great instincts.
He also had two steals (so with the one they missed, I’m calling that ten stocks) – and I think Finchy said it best – he plays within himself, he doesn’t rush, he doesn’t make mistakes (only one TO)
I like this kid. Beringer jersey incoming.
To everyone saying he wouldn’t back up Rudy this year, prepare to eat your words
