The Houston Texans Have Stars at Cornerback and Then What?
13 days, nine shows until training camp. We yesterday we did the receivers in our 10-p part series. Today we’re going to do the corners. Uh so we’re going from one side of the ball to the other, playing a little bit of ping pong. We’ll get into each of the corners in a second. Uh I have five questions about the cornerback position that I think should be discussed. Uh but right off the top, and shout out to Bobtac for sponsoring the video. Right off the top, man. Um, I don’t even know if this is really much of a debate, but Derek Stingley is already the the quarterback goat in Texans franchise history. Correct. He’s he’s already the best quarterback to ever play for the Texans, right? Yeah. Yeah. I don’t even It Jonathan Joseph’s the only one that’s even close to him. Yeah. And and some people would say, well, longevity and JJ was great in the community, but JJ Joe was never arguably one of the five best corners in the league at any point in his career. He was solid. He was stable. He’s one of the best free agent signings that they’ve ever made. And it and and we all remember the disappointment when they didn’t get Namdi Awa and and all that jazz and all that type of stuff. But despite that, Derek Stingley in three years has established himself as the best quarterback in Texans history. There’s it’s not even debatable. No one No one’s even pushing back on that. Yeah. Yeah. It’s I mean Jonathan Joseph had a second team allp pro his first year with the Texans and then he hung around for a long time with the Texans and he was very good for a good portion of time with the Texans but he was never great compared to his peers. Uh Stingley’s, you know, in some people’s eyes the best. I wouldn’t say that. I think Pat Certain’s the best, but in a lot of people’s eyes Stingley is one of the two best and Jonathan Joseph’s never really reached that level. and one one allp pro in a pro bowl and and Dererick Stingley’s well on his way past Jonathan Joseph. Yeah, I think he’s I think he’s already there uh as well. Not to take anything away from JJ. We know we know how how great uh JJ is, but yeah, Dererick Stingley is already the guy. We agree on that. JJ’s probably one of the best free agent signings this organization’s ever made. Top three. Yeah, top three for sure. It is way up there. Yeah, it’s it’s it’s way way way way way up there. Uh he is a big part of what they did. But but yeah, I would I would agree uh with that. It is the training camp preview. We are talking quarterbacks here on SNL. Uh next one. Let’s start with I must paneling got the joke. She says Ed Reid is number one for sure. Okay. Okay. You know who loved Ed Reed more than anybody? that guy who stole the 10 grand out of his front seat when he just left the cash laying there or whatever it was. By the way, I had an opportunity to do that one time and I don’t think the guy would have noticed, but I didn’t do it. Somebody left cash on the front seat of their vehicle. More than tenur dog. Oh, really? More than tang dog. I just feel like when you spend that money, it’s going to come back to bite you at some point, you know? Well, it was uh it was Antoine Walker and um we all know he went broke. You should have taken it. He would have missed it. Dude, the guy used to give me a $100 just to get his clubs. I wasn’t even a caddy. Like I I would go I would just walk 15 feet, get his clubs, hand them to him. He’d hand me a $100 bill. The turn on 9 to 18 was right there. He’d ask for a wet towel. I’d give him a wet towel. He’d hand me a $100 bill. And then he’d walk into the club, and this was at Trophy Club uh in Dallas. And he’d be like, “Hey, Lan, can you uh pull up the Maybach?” So he’d just like flick me the keys. And I’d be like, “Yeah, where do you want?” And he’s like, “Yeah, just bring them in. I’ll be I I’ll be in the I’ll be in there having some some lunch.” And I was like, “All right.” So he had a candy red apple Range Rover and he had like one of the first Maybach, like the greenish one. And I I pull up the Maybach. Dude, he just had a stack full of like freaking like hundreds. I was like, “Nah, he’s that that’s bad karma. It’s not like he’s like he’s been pretty good to me.” But yeah, that’s But he wouldn’t have noticed. He wouldn’t have noticed knowing what I know now. He wouldn’t have noticed. Take a couple off the top and Well, it’s good job by you. It’s It’s good. You’re you’re the your folks raised. You’re right. He wouldn’t have noticed. All right, so let’s go through the quarterbacks for the Texans. Derek Stingley, we’ve already talked about what’s contract. I I don’t know what the next level is for Derek Stingley. Um I think just continue what he’s been doing for the last what are we going to call it a a 30 season and a quarter season and a quarter. He’s played 30 straight games since he came back from that hamstring injury in 2023. And I don’t want to say this has been like a bounceback or anything but I will say before he came back like there was a little bit of panic because it was his second year. he’d already missed the significant time in in year one. And you and I both agree and I think he agrees that at the time they were kind of quote tanking and I think him and Damen Pierce probably would have missed some time, but I don’t know that they would have been shut down for the entire season, but the games are the games and we already had the the concern about the health with Derek Singley that we had going into that season. And then all of a sudden you find out that he’s going to miss a month plus and there was a little bit of panic and he comes back and all of a sudden he’s the player of the month. He’s all pro and it’s almost like you just forget that in in a different way. And maybe maybe it’s less overcoming adversity than it is overcoming the the talking points that us media types have which maybe we put too much of a of a on a pedestal. But it is crazy if if you really go back to the to the feeling when he got shut down and what’s happened the 30 games since he’s kind of shut a lot of people up. Well, yeah. Just what what’s there to say? The only criticism you could levy at him is, well, you’re not the best. And he very well could finish the 2025 season as the best quarterback in football. That’s not out of the realm of possibilities. Like we could talk about like is is there a chance Will Anderson is the best defensive end in football at the end of this year? Probably not. Miles Garrett still exists. TJ Watt still exists. Like it’s probably not the Derek Stingley could be the best player at his position by the end of the year. Like that is a possible outcome for his 2025 season. And that’s the only thing you could say is you’re not the best. But you know what? He could be the best. and he’s just I mean he’s he’s the undisputed best player on the team. That was the least amount of push back that that that there’s ever been on any topic. There wasn’t literally one person out of 150 uh who didn’t in in the in the SNL community who who even pushed back to the fact that he’s the best player on the team and they’ve locked him up and assuming that he’s on the field, he’s going to be locking people down. So Derek Stingley unquestioned. Um, first first round pick Nick Cacerio ever made. Very good job by Heg Gardner went after uh I saw that uh Texans cap tweeted about Nick Cacerio in the in the contract that he gave Stingley and he said something like, “Yeah, this is why Nick Cacerio got in front of it.” I I don’t I didn’t necessarily agree with that. Like he did Sas Gardner a favor more than he did like himself because you you you surpassed the annual value by $5 million. So now that’s where Sas Gardner is going to start. Sas Gardner was going to start at the top no matter what. I I I don’t I don’t know that Sas Gardner e if if he signs his contract first gets the deal that Stingley got the annual value. I don’t think any smart GM would start there. I thought it was interesting praise by Texans cap uh when he said that. That’s neither here nor there. You locked him up shortterm. Good job. Yeah, if he saved a few bucks. I mean, what did you really say? $3 million, $4 million? Yeah, but I I don’t think it’s like some sort of like, hey, Nick’s cooking type of thing. If he got him at like 275 and then Sauce got 30, then we could have a conversation. Yeah. So, we’ll see. We’ll see what it looks like. But yeah, uh Derek Stingley, you feel good about Kamari Lacer. The next one, Kamari Lacier. Look, best quarterback duo in the league. It’s it’s it’s they’re widely regarded as such. Was Kamari Lasser their first choice when they took him in the second round last year? Don’t know. There was a quarterback run before they ended up getting him much to the surprise of many draft gurus. Immediate outside guy, not just not just a guy that lined up on the inside and hell of a rookie season last year for Kamari Lacier. Who knows what the next step is, but as far as your top two corners, feel good about it. Yeah, I mean, Kamari Ler was excellent last year. Uh he was the best cornerback in football in catch percentage uh allowed. He was one of the best in like the advanced metric of catch rate allowed over expected amongst rookies. He was excellent when it came to total interceptions and and various other things. I mean, he was great last year and he does something that not every rookie cornerback um or frankly every quarterback really. He does stuff that a lot of quarterbacks don’t do in the run game. He’s not afraid to go up there and stick his nose into the run game and go make a play. That’s one of the things that I find pretty unique about both Stingley and Lacer is they’re not afraid to go stick their nose in on the run game. You see some cornerbacks sort of shy away from that. You know, S Gardner’s one of them. He didn’t he didn’t he doesn’t stick his nose in there in the run game. So, uh that’s that’s something that right away Lacier showcased that about his game. I’m excited to see what he can do for an encore because the rookie season was excellent. Um, you can have a sound argument that he was the best rookie quarterback in football last year. Quinon Mitchell obviously had a really good year, too. Uh, but um, if he’s not the number one best rookie quarterback last year, he was number two. Yeah. And I mean, there’s there’s probably going to be some low points that that come with Kamari Lacader. Just the the the sheer nature of being opposite of Derek Stingley. You’re gonna get challenged and we saw we saw him get beat at times. It’s it’s going to happen. It’s going to be sound like Dico Ryan. how you respond. It’s not about making mistakes, it’s about how you respond. Uh but yeah, I think I think the sky the sky is the limit for Kamari Lacier. Uh he seems to have gotten a little bit more little bit bigger, too. So, we’ll see what happens with Kamari Lacer on the super chat. We got an interesting question here. The usual HDV Traveler, the man swarm. Hello, my friend. myth to legend, the guy that likes to ride with the top down. Um, HD AV traveler. Uh, Kyle Nan says, “Lacer or JJ Joe?” I’ll give it to JJ Joe. Lacer’s got to do a little bit more. Yeah. Yeah. Laster’s been in the NFL for one season. So, yeah. And it’s not Yeah, we’ll go JJ. Been in for three. It’s just been really, really, really good. But, yeah, we feel good. You feel good about Ler. This is where it gets interesting. So, in the offseason, they brought in Ronald Derby. Ronald Darby took a quarter of a million dollars and he said, “F y’all’s cash, mofos.” And he left. He retired. And now the quarterback position, which may or may not be an area of concern. I’ll explain that when I ask my questions in a minute, but it the the depth is at least interesting to say the very least. We start with Jaylen Smith. Jaylen Smith was a guy that they traded up for. A lot of people kind of surprised by it. I know Nick Cacerio said on draft day at his uh postdraft press conference that someone pounded the table for Jaylen Smith. We don’t know who that was, but Nick praised them for doing that. And Jaylen Smith out of USC, a guy it it’s kind of the same dialogue as Kamari Lasser where a lot of people are saying he might he might be better equipped to line up inside. Um, we don’t know. But Jaylen Smith, good friends with Caleb Bolock, he on the team. And whenever you can get players from Lincoln Riley’s defense, you’ve got to just do it. Yeah. You USC was the uh standard of crappy college football defense for a few years now. But there also can be some untapped potential that you can that you can kind of that you can kind of come away with uh if you’re playing defense for Lincoln Riley. Jaylen Balanc is a good example of that. So Jaylen Smith was inside at USC than he played outside at USC. So he’s got experience doing both. I don’t love him inside as much as I feel like he probably has an opportunity to lock down an outside backup spot. Uh but so then you move Lacier inside. Outside backup spot. Okay. Backup spot. Okay. But but if you need three corners on the field, you’re moving Lacader inside. Well, you just leaving Smith on the bench. You could you could do a myriad of things. You can move Lacader inside and put Smith out or you could put Smith Smith inside and put last keep Lacader outside. I think the mixing and matching this is what something that Demo Ryan’s he hasn’t said it but it it stands to reason with depth that he trusts the deeper he can get into his scheme and mixing and matching and and and setting guys up and and showing things that he hasn’t shown before. If he has more players he can trust that he can put on the field and and Smith seems to be one of those guys vastly overdrafted compared to what the draft Knicks thought he was going to get drafted. Most people expected to be a fifth round or later. He went in the bottom part of the third round. They traded up to get him. They just dumped the pick to go and get him. Moved up like five spots to get him. So they they somebody in that building loves him and Nicerio was convinced enough to go up and and make the deal and get him. And I’m intrigued to see what he can carve out here for himself in training camp because he’s going to have every opportunity to carve out a key backup role for this secondary. Yeah, he’s going to have a really, really big opportunity. By the way, myriad for those of you that don’t use that in your everyday uh vocabulary, it’s a noun. It’s a countless or extremely great number. How about that, Cody students? Just showing off the vocab, but yeah, myriad of things. There’s there’s a lot of options, including some we may not be talking about. This hat ain’t just for wearing a hat, man. Okay. All right. Pause. But yeah, um, next a guy that we think of as a special teams guy, but I will say I will say he had some good quarterback reps in mini camp. He had some good quarterback reps in mini camp. Tron Smith, we know that he’s definitely the favorite of good old Frank Ross, friend of the program. But Traman Smith, we know he’s going to be on the team and he’s going to be their special teams ace. We know that he’s actually kind of a darkhorse captain for me to be honest with you. He’s a darkhorse He’s a darkhorse captain. Who would be the special teams captain? They don’t have to have a special teams captain. I’m just saying darkhorse captain when it comes to special teams. You heard it here first. It is a it it is on It is on my long shot parlay. They love him. They love him. Darkhorse captain. Thank the the the people that took that bet, they thank you for your donation. All right. Darkhorse captain, special teams. Remember I said it. Shaman Smith, though, as far as being a defensive player. I mean, I wouldn’t expect him to be on the field a lot unless they had to put him on the field. So, I I would expect Jaylen Smith to have a a good chance to beat him out. And I mean, your point about him having a couple of reps there in mini camp at OTAAS, he’s going to have to be on the field at different points in training camp. So, we’ll get to see a little bit more of cornerback Truman Smith and not special teams ace Tman Smith. So, I’ll be intrigued to see what he can do. And the scary part is is you’re a couple of snaps away from okay, now Jaylen Smith and Truman Smith are your corners. And it’s like, can you stop anybody if that’s the case? That’s a little scary. But maybe Trareman Smith has picked up a couple of tricks here in his his time away from the Texans and he is more than just a special teams ace. I have a take about uh third string corners, number three corners, and backup tackles that I want to share in a second as we go through perhaps one of the most polarizing guys on the list. Uh but first I want to tell you about Bobtac. Nothing polarizing about Bobtac. They’ve been in the industry 45 years. They’re locally owned and operated safety supplies. You can’t halfass them. And and quite frankly, these big companies, uh, for the ones who get it done, uh, they they don’t they don’t get it done. They they they jack up the prices. They lower the customer service and they screw you over. Bob Tac doesn’t do that. That phone number right there, 4097448225. You can call anytime, 24/7. Uh, you can also text it. They’re going to be with you 247. They’re going to deliver locally for free. They’ll deliver everywhere. Uh, serving Houston and beyond. uh safety supplies, PPE, control supplies, trucking, maritime gloves, FR coveralls, uh coveralls, protective clothing, all that. Anything you need, they got you covered. Go to bobtac.com or call the number. They got you covered. Uh Bobb’s been doing his thing for a while. If you don’t see something, uh let them know. They’ll get it done. And you will pay less, you will get more. I can promise you that. PPE related, oil, hazmat control. There’s even like possibility for like restaurant gloves, all that type of stuff. It’s not what they specialize in, but they can get it done there. If you look at the products 247, uh, if you need them, they got you covered. Go local. Quit letting these big companies that supposedly get it done. Take advantage of you. 4097448225. It’s pretty simple. Use Bobtax. Save your company some money, man. There you go. Very easy. Very easy. Go local. So, I my take about number three corners and backup tackles for the most part is they all suck. And number three corners and backup tackles. Backup offensive tackles. Yes, they they all suck. So, there’s a reason that teams overpay for corners. There’s a reason that teams overpay for tackles. It’s because it’s really hard to find those guys. And there’s exceptions obviously, but for the most part, like if Kamari Laced or Dererick Stingley misses a game, you’re screwed. And and there’s there’s really not much more you can do about it. And we saw it last year in the Green Bay game. I actually thought he hung in there. Uh but perfect passer rating is not is hard to defend, but I don’t expect much. We’ve seen it with backup tackles. That’s just kind of how I feel about number three corners and and tackles is is is a lot of times just kind of in no man’s land because they’re just so hard to find. I mean, you’re not wrong. Nobody’s sitting here comfortable with their backup tackle in the NFL. I mean, whoever whoever very few are are happy with both starting tackles. Who whoever the Eagles third tackle is, he’s probably awesome. Um but most everybody their third tackle is going to stink. Yeah. I’m sure there’s a I’m sure there’s there’s got to be some teams out there that have like a young guy as the third corner that maybe there’s some upside, but you’d still be a little nervous about putting him on the field. Um, and like that’s that’s that’s what you hope Jaylen Smith turns into for the Texans. It’s like young guy, he’s got some upside, he can make enough plays, you’re still nervous you put him on the field. Like that’s better than some, you know, some veteran that’s, you know, not any good. Yeah. Most teams have a corner, a starting corner who gets cooked. So, it’s it’s it’s hard. It’s hard to be a corner these days. It’s hard to be a tackle these days. It’s difficult. So, boy, if I was if I was a high schooler and I was super athletic, I wouldn’t be playing corner, man. I’d go I’d go play another position, man. We’re we’re having some big ifs today. Um, D’Angelo Ro, I just kind of I mean, it I’m not obviously gonna be a corner dumbass. D’Angelo Ross. Yeah, your guy. Not my guy, but your guy. He’s their guy. They seem to like D’Angelo Ross a lot. Uh we saw we did a lot of people kind of cringe when you name around here. Nobody likes D’Angelo Ross more than Jordan Love. Yes. And he had a perfect passer rating, but I actually thought D’Angelo Ross hung in there decently. Um and that’s just because of my low standards of number three corners. I’m glad you’re given a participation award for being in the frame of the screen. I am. I am. And I might get some medal over here. My main thing with D’Angelo Ross is it would be very nice if they could push him off the roster and make him a cut. Like that would be that would be progress when it comes to depth at cornerback. I would say Smith could help. Uh some of the other guys that we’re going to mention could help. Uh, but it it would be nice if they could just kind of push him to the side to where despite what I’m saying and despite my praise, we don’t have to watch him ever again in a meaningful game. Really good special teams player. So, he’s not going to be easy to push off the roster, especially if it’s a young guy trying to push him off. So, you’re going to have to go out there and and kick his ass on special teams and and then be a better quarterback when it comes to the defensive stuff. But I mean, if he if you told me he’s the 53rd guy or he’s the 54th guy and he’s on the practice squad, neither of those things would surprise me. Would not surprise you. Uh, on the super chat, we have a question before we get to the most polarizing corner of them all. Swarm. All right. on the soup. Birdie boy says, “Did you guys see Adam rank on NFL Network have the Texans going eight and nine and also PFF not having Demo as a top 10 coach?” I don’t know who Adam rank is to be honest with you. So, I don’t know. I do appreciate that you at least gave a name because I always think it’s funny when someone says, “Did you see NFL Network said?” But I don’t I don’t really consume Adam Rank’s work. So, I would I would be lying if I said that I put any stock in what he said. I They could easily go eight and nine. I mean, it’s, you know, there’s kind of a balance. They they’ve won 10 the last couple games, so did not see that. Whatever. Uh maybe he thinks that the the division got better and the schedule’s tough or whatever. Did not see that. Uh PFF didn’t have De Mo as a top 10 coach. Let let me let me explain the rank thing because you see some of the teams and the records. It was done to stir up some conversation. Eight and nine Houston Texans. Eight and nine Detroit Lions. Below 500 Pittsburgh Steelers, 11 win the North Chicago Bears. Like I don’t know that we totally believe this, but that just sounds like a Ben Johnson swing. Maybe. Maybe they’re not winning 11 games. Yeah. So So no, I did not see that. Uh, as far as Demo not as a top 10 coach, I didn’t see the I didn’t see what their parameters were. You know, I’d have a hard time finding if there’s 10, I’d have a hard time finding a whole bunch more than 10. Yeah, I I don’t know. I think Demo is a really good coach. I think it’s really early in the game and I think a lot of these guys have kind of like I mean, you’re obviously putting Andy Reid, you’re obviously putting John Harbaugh above him. I guess you got to put Mike Tomlin because he’s been doing it as long as he has. Demo right now is better than Tomlin. If they if Demo Ryans was the coach of the Steelers, they’d be better. Yeah, I don’t I don’t know what their stipulations were or anything like that. So, I have no idea. Um like McVeyy’s better. Yeah, McVeyy’s better. Didn’t we Shanahan is I guess Shanahan is for sure. Like even though he’s had some rough years, you got you got to put Shanahan up there like Yeah. I mean, I would say you got Do you put Mike Vrabel above him? Been to an AFC Championship game, won uh had had the best record in the league, you know. Do you put Vrabel? We did this the other day. I got to remember who we put above Tika. We did the coaches. Yeah. Kevin Stfansky has a case. He’s been coach of the year twice. I know it’s I know they’ve kind of the organization’s kind of gotten above uh beyond him. I mean, he did beat his ass in the playoffs, so there there is that. It was Joe Flacco, though. Yeah, I mean I I think Demo is probably a top 10 coach, but no, I didn’t I didn’t I mean, we did we did the AFC coaches and we only had we only had four in the AFC better than him. Yeah. That you would rather have. Yes. Yeah. We put Zack Taylor at the same level with him. We didn’t rank Glenn and Cohen. Yeah. Because we were factoring in now that May maybe he thinks he’s given Tomlin credit for then. Don’t know. Like I mean if if they say Jim Harbaugh Jim Harbaugh you can make a case because if if you if you combine the San Francisco stuff then I mean that’s three NFC Championship games in four years is pretty wild. Yeah. I mean are I would take Demo over Todd BS. I would take DO I would take DO Todd BS I don’t think Todd BS gets enough respect. I would take Diko over Brian Dable. Yeah, I would too. But yeah, I mean Kevin O’Connell like that’s a conversation I guess. I guess. Yeah. You know that. So like could you find six, seven, eight, you know, and then you know give some lifetime achievements where they finish ahead of him. Sure. But you know if he’s not top 10, it needs to be 11. Yeah. Embrace debate. Uh KC on the chat says, “Shout out to the best two in the business, SNL. Go Texans. You’re not even You’re not even going to try the man’s name. I don’t want to butcher it. It’s It’s Keshan. Keshan Cor Corpus, right? We doing that. That’s what I would have gone with. Yeah. Yeah. Kean Corpus. And you know, KC, if if we were We were cool, I’d be calling him KC. What’s wrong with that? There’s nothing wrong with that. Yeah. See, I mean, maybe you know if I tell me, Keshan, I’d never seen Casey before, so I didn’t I didn’t know. I didn’t know. Maybe you familiar with him. It’s my guy, dude. Appreciate the shout out. Thank you. Uh, Rich Boy Jay, I got that one right. Uh, do y’all think we will ever actually play Deshawn? They did. Um, you remember the uh the Kyle Allen start against the Browns? They did. They did they did play Deshawn? Did I I don’t think I ever I don’t think I ever told on the stream. I’ll tell you you you made fun You mocked me mercilessly for this. I thought that that was going to be a hot ticket, so I’d bought tickets ahead of time and I was trying to be a ticket ticket reseller. All right. Anyways, I was in the front row. I that I actually went to that one as a fan with the wife. That was that was the correct way to say his name. Yes. There you go. Kean is Casey work better for you. Let me know. I got you. Works better for us. I mean, whatever works whatever works better, you know. Yeah. Where were we on the list? Uh Brandon says, “Does John Harbaugh actually do anything? his coaching strategy is don’t run the ball and make Lamar play hero ball until they fail horribly. He keeps it organized. I mean, I think I it is always kind of interesting and it’s I get what Brandon’s saying. Brandon says a lot of stuff in the chat uh that generates conversation. Um, he’s one of the bigger fans. But I, it’s always interesting because I I used to roll my eyes when they used to praise Phil Jackson for just sitting crisscross applesauce and going like this, like as Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen found a way to get out of trouble. I was like, “Okay, what is he really doing?” And he’s getting praised. But I think John Harbaugh does a really good job of adapting. He does a really good job of making changes when they need to be made. He does a really good job uh they’ve embraced analytics uh more than anyone. and they they were actually kind of one of the first teams to completely embrace it. Um they’re always I I I don’t see him make a lot of mistakes in game. So yeah, I would say he does do something. The the point differential between the Texans and Ravens and the De Mo era is 69. 69 in those three games is uh is the point differential. Um so yeah, I do think he does something. I don’t think he just sits I don’t think he’s Larry Coker with the Miami Hurricanes. How about that reference? That’s throwback. Former UTSA head coach Larry Coker. Yeah, he couldn’t quite get it done. He couldn’t quite get it done, but yeah, Larry Co. I don’t think he’s like Larry Koker. All right, so the next one, former first round pick out of Ohio State. No, it’s not Jeff Auda, but it is someone who was in that same draft. Uh, who is also a disappointment for a number of reasons. Damon Arnett. Damon Arnett is the next guy that we discuss. And I’ I’ve actually broken down like the past of Damon Arnett. I think there is some gray area. There’s some interesting stuff to it. I know someone uh very closely, one of my very close friends and mentors who interviewed him for 45 minutes. Actually sent the interview to Daryl Johnson that had a big hand in him getting uh another crack. Jean Jacqu Taylor. Uh Damon Arnett. I think the one thing that we need to make clear when it comes to Damon Arnett is he’s never played well in the NFL. He’s barely played. Yeah. So, it’s not like you’re kicking the tires. I I I guess I’ll just go ahead and hit the race card because I heard this reference a couple of times in the chats. This isn’t kicking the tires on Pac-Man Jones uh or anything like that. like this is this is a guy who has never played well in the NFL and you’re kind of desperate at corner so you’re willing to give him a chance. I I don’t know what to expect from Damon Arnett. I know speed was always kind of an issue with Damon Arnett. Um some some think he’s more of a of a zone guy than a man guy. Others say different things about Damon Arnett, but he’s getting another crack at it. And I would almost be surprised if he makes the team. I mean, I really I don’t believe we would talk about this player. Like, if he just had the football resume without the off the- field stuff, we probably don’t even talk about him that much. But the off the- field stuff is that’s been the story of Damon Arnett. Now he’s got to make football, the on the- field stuff. He he was fine in the UFFL. It’s not like he was like the Derek Stingley of the UFFL. He’s fine. Nice player. Okay, let’s see what he can do at the NFL level. Yeah, he’s he’s fine. Like, it’s not it’s not anything it’s I I don’t think he makes the team. Maybe maybe they’re able to keep him around or something, but we’ll see what happens. I I do like that they’re more open-minded to these types of things cuz because we know that that wasn’t always the case. So, I I do like that they’re more open-minded and willing to to give these guys more chances. Um, but I I’m not going to sit here and act like Damon Arnett is gonna make the team. No. Yeah. But but some some say, well, if you’re going to roll the dice, you should do it at a higher level. I I don’t I don’t know if that’s the way that you should look at it. Well, I mean, none of these none of these situations are the exact same. There’s there’s different there’s different dice rolls in all the situations. I mean, you bring in a disruptive wide receiver, that’s different than a disruptive corner, which would be different than a disruptive defensive lineman. Like, all those things are are disruptive in different ways. I will say this, though, and here’s the thing, it’s not like he’s been like disruptive to his teammates. He’s just had guns, threatened people on social media, and had drugs. Well, I think the guy I think I I didn’t I never had a problem with him threatening that dumbass on social media. Um, I never had a problem with that. I thought I thought it was probably a little much. He probably shouldn’t have had the DMs open, but the guy asked for his address. Now, I might have baited him, but he asked for his address, said he was going to show up, whatever. I’m more offended that the cop lets you off when when a dollar bill with white powder falls out of your pocket and you have drugs and he lets someone drive you and then you drive by the cop 30 minutes later the day before you got to practice when you’ve gotten your second chance. That that offends me more than knucklehead on knucklehead social media crap. That that was dumb. Yeah, I agree. That was just really dumb. But we’ll see what happens with uh with Damon Arnett. We’re going through the uh Texans cornerbacks here. We got the landlock five questions coming up. Going to the soup. The man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Stone Alone five times. Swarm. Shout out to you my friend. posted up right there. He’s ready for football season. He’s ready for camp in 13 days. Uh and he’s locked into the cornerback preview. Shout out to Stone alone. Yeah. Thanks for uh always watching, man, wherever you are because he’s always on the road, it feels like. Also, shout out to Dhino. It is Happy birthday. It is his birthday and he’s happy to celebrate with us. It’s my first one without my old man, but I’m not going to get too sappy. It’s just dope to be able to shut off the world and talk Texans with y’all. Hey, if you want to get sapp beyond that, that’s crazy. Like, I can’t imagine that. Football, I would not love football without my pops. Um, when my parents got divorced, it was kind of our bond. Like, that was that was the um the foundation of the conversation. Uh, road trips to UT games. That’s why that like that was a big thing. It’s it’s the first thing that we talk about. It’s the random text messages and then the the holes just kind of get filled in. So, I wouldn’t be talking here without my pops. Um, and he’s still here. And you you don’t have to apologize to anyone for getting sappy on that. But happy birthday to you, my friend. Celebrate however you choose. I’m going to go drink a I’m gonna go drink a Love Street just in the in honor of your pops. Uh, when we get off here, the Rhino’s a WWE fan, too, like us. So, saw him. You’re a bigger fan than me now. I’m more old school. Cody was Cody’s more of like a old school. He’s a pre-outsiders WCW guy. Like he liked like the four horsemen and Sting before Crow and all that attitude era kind of kind of soured him. He’s more of a Jim Cornet. I’m more like Vince Russo. Your favorite wrestler in the world’s Brett Hart, so I don’t want to hear from you. Right. Talking about can’t take the other guy’s finisher. Get out of here. I hate I hate Bret Hart. He’s your freaking favorite. You got the pink glasses. Go ahead. Go get them. I did and I lost them. Go. I had my first house show. It was the only thing that I could afford in the souvenir stand. It was $6. You remember when you used to get that program at the front and they would have like the the the the card. Yeah. Yeah. I had $10. That was four bucks. The Hitman glasses were six. I didn’t even like Breadart. I just wanted the Hitman glasses. And I lost them, man. I lost my Hitman glasses. So, you are right. I did have them, but I did not like him. Yeah, you’re big heart guy. Did not like him. Big Bret Hart guy. You love You love You love the way Hey, he took the business too serious. That’s your favorite part. I I got I got a picture with Stone Cold back in the day. Ken Shamrock, Billy Gun, Road Dog. Got to go backstage and I was And I kind of made fun of Owen Hart before something happened. Yeah, I was doing a thumbs up. I hope you’re proud of that. I’m not. I’m not. Next one. The favorite of Cole Thompson. Shout out to Cole Thompson over there with 790. The man who has had media availability one time. And that one time, I [ __ ] you not. Cole Thompson asked him eight questions. Cole loves him a good reserve nickel corner. Miles Bryant still here. One-year deal for Miles Bryant. He is back. How do we feel about Miles Bryant? I did not feel like he was some sort of just awful player when he had to fill in a couple times after Jaylen Petri got hurt. I thought he played okay. They just didn’t really put him on the field a ton there. And you know, there’s some versatility to him inside outside safety experience if you needed it. I mean, just a a depth player that if he wiggles his way onto the roster, he’s a guy that’s going to play special teams and then be able to maybe help you out at more than just one position. So, I the size and some of the other players just that I like more kind of work against him. But, if he hangs around, that’s potentially a guy that could back up that uh Petri spot. I was I was kind of surprised that he wasn’t one of the guys that they went to earlier on like in the emergency situation where Petri and and Ward got hurt. We we saw him on the field a little bit, but I was actually a little bit surprised that he wasn’t more considered like as as like what D’Angelo Ross got the opportunity to do. I I know they probably look at him as more of a outside guy. I was just a little bit surprised by that. Well, I mean, he he was off the roster, then he’s on the practice squad, then he’s on the main roster, and it’s, you know, there’s a lot, you know, with with Miles Bryant, but he a lot of transactions, not a lot of playing time, you know, if that changes, it’s probably not good overall for the Texans, but as a deep depth piece, you could do worse. Yeah, you could definitely do a lot worse than him. There is there’s zero doubt about that. So, shout out to uh the man, the myth, the legend, Miles Bryant. Speaking of legendary, Jim wants to let you know that the uh the McDonald’s snack rap is back uh courtesy of Jim. It’ll be on a food review soon. Oh, you’re gonna you’re going to review it? Mhm. Uh Brandon says, “Does SNO have a Facebook?” We do. Um it’s not as active uh at times, but we do have a Facebook. Uh it is a private group. Um I I there was there was a little bit of spamming going on like sharing other stuff. It was just a little bit crazy, but yes, we do have one. Yeah. Um but yeah, if you want to check it out. I think it’s few thousand in it. Uh the next one, go ahead and pronounce this one for me. Elijah Huzzy. Is that how we’re going? Yeah. North Carolina undrafted free agent at cornerback. A lot of draft people thought he could sneak into the back part of the draft. I’m wondering if what he was dealing with uh from an injury standpoint kept him from getting drafted because he he didn’t participate in rookie mini camp. I mean, he was there, but he didn’t do much. And um didn’t remember seeing him do a lot many camps in OTAAS. just a a guy that’s not a really a consideration I would say in 2025, but come in impress um you know, play inside, maybe play a little outside and and try to earn yourself a practice squad spot and maybe kind of just keep carving your carving your way further up the depth chart each year and just see what you can figure out if you’re Elijah Huzzy. Yeah, I don’t have a real opinion on him until I actually see him in camp. I’ll have I’ll have a strong opinion uh once that happens, but anything anything that I say right now wouldn’t be based on anything. I’d much rather the the I’d much rather the last couple of names at at cornerback be, you know, young guys or un unproven guys than somebody who’s trying to reclaim their last little vestage of their NFL career. So, you know, him having Huzzy and and the next guy we’re going to talk about there at the back end. Yeah, it’s it’s fine for the last little quarterback spots. Next one. Key Caligan. Tell me everything you know about Key Drain Caligan. Southeastern Louisiana, uh, is where he went to school. 6-1. Uh, so he’s one of the bigger corners that you’re going to see out there and pretty athletic as well. watching him in some of the mini camp OTAA stuff. He’s got a little bit more athleticism than sometimes big corners or bigger corners have. So interested to see if he can show some of that athleticism in training camp when he gets here. Again, same thing with Huzzi. Young guy, impress, make a practice squad spot, and just try to climb your way through, you know, the NFL life. It it it is they got rid I don’t remember the transaction but like he was I think initially he was on like another team and then they got him after he was a free agent or he wasn’t like an immediate undrafted free agent for whatever reason but they clearly sought him out at some point. So yeah clearly. Uh then we have another one. I don’t think he’s necessarily a corner but maybe he’s kind of a corner. Jaylen Petri. Yeah, it depends. Depends how you want to talk about it because if you talk about Petri as a slot quarterback, um, then he’s in the quarterback conversation. If you talk about him as, you know, the the big nickel, that’s kind of more of a safety conversation than, you know, C. He can’t cover, but he can affect the game at the line of scrimmage. Let me rephrase that. He didn’t cover well last year. I don’t I’m not gonna say that he’s never going to be able to cover, but he didn’t cover well last year. And so that part of the game’s got to get better. It’s really football language and depending on how you talk about it is how you go about it. But the the slot guys have their own workout group. It’s not like they’re working with the safeties or working with the outside guys. And so he’s in the slot guy group because he is the slot guy. I I just wonder if there’s going to be a little bit more of a a willingness by opposing teams to try to take advantage of Jaylen Petri because I just I just felt that there was there was like a little bit too much opportunity for them to take advantage of him in coverage and and I didn’t feel like they took advantage of him as much as they could have. I agree. Teams did not target him near enough. Yeah. So, so I I want to see what it looks like and and when we get to these landlock questions, uh I I I think it’s going to it’s going to expand the potential conversation when it comes to the Texans uh camp preview quarterbacks. By the way, look at this. Look at this stud right here. Stone cold. Stone cold. Look at that blonde hair. The red and black Austin 316. That’s Look at that. Look at that blonde hair right there. You’ve had some pretty bad hairstyles over the years. Look at that. That’s sick. That’s right there. Yeah. How about that? That’s not sick. Uh, can I ask you a question? Mhm. Oh, you didn’t know? Road dog. They these smell like drugs. I wouldn’t have known at that age. Yeah. So, Billy Gun Billy Gun with the crop top. Uh, this guy might have smelled like drugs, although I don’t know if he like smelly drugs. Oh yeah, Shamrock was juiced to the gills back then. Pilled. Rest in peace, man. Yeah, there you are making fun of of Owen Hart weeks before he passes. Moving on. Moving on. You probably called him Nugget on the way out. Now, that was during Blue Blazer days. It was pretty crazy. Anyway, moving on. The landlock five cornerback questions. Question number one, how do they play BL uh base defense at full strength? I think this will be interesting because last year we saw Jaylen Petri play a large percentage of the snaps at what you could consider cornerback uh for the most part. I mean, and they didn’t have Christian Harris, so I don’t know if that fact if if that would have been the case had it not happened, but they obviously liked what they saw uh with Petri. I think a big reason why they drafted Jaylen Reed out of Penn State in an ideal scenario to develop behind Jimmy Ward and Jaylen Petri was because maybe they like the way that they play football uh in that set. But it will be interesting to see how they place play base defense at full strength. And let’s pretend that Christian Harris and Jaylen Petri are healthy. What do those splits look like and and how does Demo attack it? That’s question number one that impacts the corners. Well, you don’t pay Jaylen Petri $10 million a year to put Christian Harris on the field instead of him. So, I I would tell you that most of the time they’re going to have two quarterbacks and Jaylen Petri and two linebackers on the field. That would be my educated expectation. Yeah. Question number two, how do they handle the inevitable short-handedness? Now, you showed off your vocab early. I don’t know if this is a word-handedness, uh, but I did not get corrected in the spell check. So, how do they handle the inevitable short-handedness? Last year, it was D’Angelo, not TJ Maxx. More Ross, uh, out there looking like a bad Ross, uh, with the perfect passer rating against Jordan Love. How do they handle it? What do they do? If it if Lacier or Stingley misses time, are we seeing Smith as CB1? Uh, Jaylen Smith, what are we seeing? How are they going to handle that? Do they become more open if something happens to bringing in a Stefon Gilmore? I think that I think those those corners that are on standby that we hear about a lot if Stingley or Lacier is going to miss more time. I think you become more open-minded to bringing those guys in. But it will be interesting because it’s inevitable. It’s the only certainty in football is that you’re going to be short-handed at some time. How do they handle the inevitable short-handedness? piggybacking off of how they how they play defense base defense at full strength. And Jaylen Smith is my hope on how they handle it. I hope he finds a way to solidify himself as that guy should one of those outside guys miss time or even if if Petri has to miss time. Hopefully they they would trust Smith enough to maybe be able to do what Petri does as well. That’d be my hope. Obviously, you know, before he retired, they had a veteran to compete with Smith, but you know, it’s it’s going to be it’s it’s it’s hopefully going to be Smith after that. It’s Oh, crap. Yeah. And then it’s also Well, at least you have a good edge duo that can perhaps pressure the quarterback and lower the uh lower the uh the amount of time that they have to cover. Question number three, who’s gonna be quarterback three? Yeah, J Jaylen Smith’s my hope. And I I think, you know, you don’t spend a third. That’s the best case scenario is that he’s the unquestioned CB3. Correct. Correct. I mean, when you trade up for a guy that early and then the guy that was in front of him is gone, you would hope that naturally he would step up. That that would have been the the ultimate scenario even if Darby had been here, if Smith was just head and shoulders above him. But yeah, that’s I mean that’s that’s what you hope when you draft a guy in the third round that he could he could lock down a for sure spot on the two deep at the very least. Like there’s not a path for him to start. So the best spot he can end up on the depth chart is is a backup that you trust behind Stingley outside and behind Lacer outside. No doubt. No doubt. Question four. How good can Kamari be? That’s that’s what’s the next step for Kamari Lacader? How good can he be? Can he be a fringe Pro Bowl quarterback? Uh is is he going to be one of those guys that is gets talked about? Because it does seem like Mitchell and Dejene get talked about like at a higher level. Uh maybe maybe just because they’re on good teams. I don’t I don’t know. But like Kabari Lacier, how good can he be? It it’s to me it’s not out of the question that he ends up as, you know, one of the 30 best corners in football. And you think about, okay, you got either the one the number one or number two corner and then the, you know, 25th best cornerback in football. It’s like it’s that’s a great duo. Nobody else has anything really close to that. Um, could could he could he clam into the top 20? this seems, you know, a pretty high bar to get to, but after the incredible rookie season and the way that he approaches things, and I wrote about this last week on Houston football, they had the guys walking over for like the final day of of uh mentoring mini camp. And so, what are you doing with your break? It’s like one guy’s getting married. Stingley said, I’m going to go to sleep. Demo is like I’m going to Cabo. Kamar Lasser goes working and kept walking. It’s like it’s See, the guy is just always putting in time. He’s always paying attention to it. He wants to get better. He said he understands the game better than he did last year. Last year was just, you know, go a million miles an hour, try to make a play, but he understands the game better. Like, I believe him when he says that. And he’s going to be really good this year is my hope. Yeah, he’s solid. He’s everything you want in in a CB2. I mean quite honestly like if Dererick Stingley didn’t exist I would be intrigued to see you know can Kamari Lacader emerge as like a CB1 that you feel okay about like and that’s that’s that’s how high I am on him but but you have Derek Stingley so now now it’s kind of like okay well he’s CB2 he’s going to be CB2 for the next at least however long Stingley’s here. Uh, but you feel good about Kamari Lacer. Like if you you didn’t have Derek Stingley, there’d be a lot of concern about the position obviously, but you you would at least be intrigued to see what Kamari Lacier can be. And I’m a I’m a big fan of of the young man uh in in in many ways. Uh number five question about the corners. Uh who not on the roster gets a shot? And this could this could be just some rando that’s going to happen. Like it might happen a couple of times, but we’re going to walk up to practice and Aaron Wilson is going to report that Needle Dong Johnson has signed a deal with the Texans or this guy um Whack Jackson has signed a deal with the Texans. There’s going to be other guys that get opportunities because they are going to churn the corner position and there’s going to be some guys that emerge. Sometimes those guys come into camp and they end up making the team, but it is going to happen. I think the guys that we’ve already discussed, there’s there some of them are going to they’re going to move on from and they’re going to replace and they’re going to turn the roster. There’s zero doubt about it. Desmond King. No way. I think that ship is sailed, my friend. For the for the 25th time, I think that ship is sailed, my friend. Although he did delete the tweet. Yeah. I mean, you know, it’s my understanding he lives in Houston, so it’s not like he’s got to like move his family down here, you know. So, yes. Uh, you know, that’d be my Desmond King. Um, I’m looking through the the free agent quarterbacks and there’s there’s not anything that should get you excited. Eli Apple. No thanks. You know, if Khadar Holman’s leg wasn’t messed up, maybe him. Yeah. Yeah. Uh he looks like he’s like 50. Kar Holman. Yeah. He looked like he was 50. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, we’ll see. Um there it was. But yeah, Needle Dong Johnson. We’ll see when he arrives at camp. It’ll be It’ll be interesting. What a what a name. Needle Johnson. Uh Cameron G on the super chat. You ain’t never swarm. Just got off work, hyped. Y’all are still alive. Starting my 3-day weekend and heading up to Austin for my homies wedding. Cheers, fellas. I’ve had many of fun weddings in Austin. God, I’ve had some fun times out there. Um, if you go on the water, go to Hoola Hut. Just booze at Hoolah Hut. Go to Dirty Martins. Dirty Martins. Good burgers. Home. Figure that out. Can’t go wrong. Go Dirty Sixth Street. Just Just go play pub golf. It’s cheap now. Got to keep your head on a swivel a little bit more uh than than in my day. But yeah, work your way up Sixth Street. I wonder Logan’s. I wonder what the the gimmick at the wedding is like. Everybody’s got something that they do, you know? It’s kind of like unique or special like see like a doughut wall or like somebody brings in like a ice cream truck at the end of the night or something like that. Wonder what the gimmick is. Yeah, I don’t know if there will be a gimmick. Um, some people just like a nice traditional wedding. Everybody gets gimmicks now. What would your gimmick be? Bob back. No. Mashed potato bar. Oh god. Oh yeah. For someone who likes food as much as you. You have some bad ideas. Oh, so Oh, yeah. You don’t like mashed potatoes? Yeah. You’re stupid. A mashed potato bar. A mashed potato is something you just scoop up and throw on the plate. And maybe after you scoop it up, there’s like a little gravy that you throw on it. Like gravy. White gravy, bacon, cheese, green onions. Man, you’re an idiot if you don’t see the vision. Oh my. You’re You are so closeminded sometimes. Mashed potato bar. That’s the That’s the highlight. So close-minded. I paid all this money to go to this wedding and Oh, what are they eating? What are they Oh, there’s a mashed potato bar. You are so close-minded on this. Terrible. A mashed potato bar. This coming from the guy that has a three cold cut meat sandwich and that’s it. Yeah. Get out of here. A mashed potato bar. Come on, bro. You got You got to do better than that. Yeah. Okay. Sure. It’s just a scoop. Like mashed potatoes is mashed potatoes is maybe the third thing you get to in a good buffet line. Maybe that’s why I’m elevating it, dumbass. It’s unnecessary to elevate. Uh, no it’s not. It’s my gimmick. Cody’s hot dog bar is just cheese. I just said like it’s just gets it’s I know how I know how people feel when like the news misrepresents them. I just said that’s how I eat it most often. Terrible. Say that I wouldn’t put mustard or sauerkraut or this or that on it. You know why don’t you have a green bean bar since we’re doing mashed potato bar. Let’s get a green bean bar, too. Same. There’s not any variety to green beans, dummy. Oh, you can put some bacon on them. You put some onions in them. You’re so dumb. You don’t see the vision. That’s fine. I don’t a mashed potato bar, bro. You don’t see the vision. That’s fine. What should I eat? I’m I’m going to the baseball game tomorrow. I’m not talking food with you. I’m not talking any more food with you for the rest of the week. What? What should I What should I eat at the ball game tomorrow? For real. You should eat a hot dog with just cheese on it. Do Do you always Do you frown upon it as much as I when you go to an Astros game? If you’re at the Astros game, say what’s up tomorrow. But do you ever do you ever uh Rich boys asking if Cody attended my wedding? We actually My My wife was a saint. We we actually just did the courthouse thing, so it was lovely. Um, but um, do you do you frown upon people who go to Astros games and get Pluckers or Shake Shack as much as I do? Uh, yeah, cuz I think there’s some good ballpark food in there. It the whole like first of all, it’s not going to be as good as the pluckers that you eat at Pluckers. Second of all, if they win, you’re getting five free wings anyways. Mhm. Shake Shack, it’s going to be more expensive, too. And there’s just all this ballpark food. Like, I don’t I don’t frown upon like paying the 20 bucks for the LTMO half and half marg cuz it’s it’s a drink that’ll get you loose before you maybe try to start start drinking some draft beers after. They got the big nachos, too. But I see these big lines when I walk in through Centerfield, right? Yeah. walk in through center field and you see this big ass line for Pluckers on your right and you see this big ass line for Shake Shack on your left and I’m just like, “What are y’all doing?” I just go there any other time. Yeah. Go get me some loaded nachos. Exactly. The loaded nachos with the back at the at the nacho stand with the with the people with like the ch the sour cream. Th That’s That’s the move. Yeah. Some dogs. Hopefully, it’s in a souvenir helmet when I take my souvenir nachos home. Oh, you like the helmet? Yeah, why not? You know, it’s fun little bowl to have around. It’s just not as big as the It’s not as wide as the other bowl, though. Oh, I’m getting cheated on my on my nachos by getting the souvenir. You think? I think so. Somebody needs to take a food scale and weigh them. It’s like the Arby’s curly fries where like like one fry can take up like the space that a lot of fries should. They They should actually have paper sacks. That’s That’s the perfect way. I think Jack in the Box does the paper sacks for the most part, don’t they? I haven’t eaten Jack in the Box curly fries in a long time. No, they do the They do the cardboard. Oh, okay. Yeah. I I I feel like they don’t screw you as much as Arby’s, though. I feel like Arby’s does a pretty good job. Oh, yeah. I I don’t think they get the credit they deserve, which is a hot take around here. Uh ESG Soccer has a question. Last chance. New River Gorge and Whitewater rafting in West Virginia. Hey, we’ll figure some stuff out in West Virginia. Yeah, we’re going to do some fun stuff in West Virginia. I don’t know if it’s going to be white water rafting. Yeah, I I ain’t white rider rafting with you, brother. That is a That is a nogo, my friend. Is that a fat joke? It is what it is. Oh, I’m I’m afraid the raft’s going to sing fatties over there. I did not say that. I just said I’m not white water rafting with you. Yeah. I don’t even think you could swim. I Anytime you want to get in the pool, I’ll beat your ass, Phelps. Okay. Okay. A [ __ ] Australia torpedo on you. Okay. On that note, subscribe, like, ride along. Always remember when it comes to this text and stuff, we’re all in it together. Whether you’re an attitude era guy like me or a Bob back guy like Cody Studes, we love you. Yeah. Whatever you say, best there is, best there was, best there ever will be. Bret Hart fan. Uh, eat good, sleep good, be good. We’ll talk Texans again soon. Thanks for watching, everybody.

Hot Take: Love JJoe but if we never let go of Bouye i wouldve had him over JJoe.
Another Hot Take: I think Demeco could unlock Sauce Gardner better than the Jets.
Not trying to fan boi over stingley but looking at stats he is slightly better than Surtain, not to mention Stingley almost had like 3-4 more interception during the season.
Surtain had more tackles and return yards which, honestly something I don't care about when we have a defense making tackles anyways.
Also even PFF ranks Stingley higher with 3 points. Not that PFF says who the best corner I'm just trying to find something Surtain is better at besides tackling. Seems like Stingley is slightly better.
