He’s just given up a lot of home runs. And that’s lined up the middle and NMO as he did in the first game. Starts the second game with a base hit. Cut off by Mullins, but NMO will stop at first with a leadoff single. If they were keeping such a close halter on him as Lor lines one down the right field line that’s going to go all the way into the corner. NMO digging for third as Lauriano digs it out. They’ll stop NMO at third base against Lauriano’s strong arm. Lendor’s got a double and the Mets have it set up once again as they did in the first game. Second and third and nobody out to start the game. Well, starting out ugly for Sagano again. Ball down in the strike zone out over the plate. Second and third and nobody out. And Juan hits one right at the shortstop. Henderson looks home but he’s going to throw to first as the run comes home. And as he made the throw to first, Lindor broke for third. So it’s a doubly productive out. Ninth pitch of the at bat coming to Alonzo and he hits this one of the year to right field deep enough to get the run in. Lauraniano backs up, gets behind it, makes the catch. Here comes Lindor. Here comes the rainbow throw. Not in time. Got a good but not good enough to throw out Lindor from the warning track. That’s hit to center field coming on as Mullins and he’s there to grab it and that retires a side. The Mets played a couple in the first inning to hand Brandon Wadell an early lead. One before coming back to the States this year and Holiday goes down swinging on the fast ball and Wadell’s got a strike out to start his night. 3-2 coming. Westber grounds one to third. Batty with the one hand grab. Fires across the diamond. Two out. I’m sure that’s a big piece of why Wadell started this game. Henderson hits it toward the gap in right center. cutting across is McNeel and he’ll play off for long run. H Anderson heads to second and he is in standing with a two out double and he laid off ball four. So Verge wasn’t 32 coming to Lauriano and he hits it on the ground right at Lindor. He goes the short way and he’s safe for first. Not in time. Lindor probably forgot that it was a 3-2 pitch and O’Harn was running and that’s a big mistake by Lindor who went about had an easy out at first base and it was the shovel and he pulls it to first caught by Alonzo’s side retired. So Wadell staggers but does not fall and Lindor’s mistake does not cost the Mets and Bentos rolls one out to short. And Henderson’s got it. One out and he skies one to center field. Mullins comes in a couple of strides and puts it away to retire the side. Sugana with a one, two, three second. Mets up two nothing. They fear that the ABS may not be as accurate as they’re selling it. That’s a fair ball over the bag and down the line for Mullins. He’s flying on the way to second. It’ll stop there as Sodto gets to it quickly. So, it’s a one out double for Cedric Mullins. His first hit in this series and he flies one toward the right field line. A long run for Sodto and it lands. It’s a fair ball. Around third comes Mullins. They’ll throw to second base. Not in time. Mullins comes in to score. Alex Jackson with a highf fly double and his first at bat for the Orioles and it cuts the Mets lead to two to one. We see those numbers against lefties this year. And now Westber drives one to deep left and that ball’s going to go out of here and the Orioles have the lead. So the big right-handed bat of Jordan Westber flips this game around. His 10th home run of the year, a two-run shot to put the Orioles in front three to two. And they now have the lead. And now fly ball hit to center off the bat of Henderson. Back to the warning track is McNeel to make the catch. And that retires the side. But Westberg’s two-run homer puts the Orioles in front. It’s 3-2 after two. Sodto edging off first. There he goes. And the throw to second by Jackson. No chance. Sodto keeps getting that walking lead and they keep letting him. Just unbelievable. It’s just that way. Just minor adjustment. Batty lines one to right center field. That’s down for a base hit. Sort of around third. He’s in to score. Mcneel goes to third. Brett Batty ties the game with a two out RBI single. It’s three to three. Batty runs. Akunia drives one to center field, but Mullins is right there. And that retires the side. Let’s get a run on Batty’s RBI hit to tie the game 3-3 in the fourth. There he goes. Takes off early and a swing and a miss. And Mullen steals second base standing up as Jackson strikes out for the second out. And he taps a slow roller. Hagenman off the mound. Makes the play. Side retired to Justin. And he hits this one out to right field. Lauraniano with the sunshine battling it. Makes the catch throw back to first. Nemo dives back in safely. There he goes. I mean, it’s just it’s like stealing candy from a baby. They’re getting these walking leads. It’s impossible to throw them out. And you know what? If you hold on to the ball, they tip it off. You can step off. What was it the first game? And Pete hits one on the ground and Wester’s got it. That retires the side and strand a couple in the fifth. Stays 3-3 halfway through and a ground ball up the middle. A base hit for Henderson. Not a bad change up, but Henderson takes it up the middle for his and Cowser lines one up the middle of base hit. And the Orioles will regain the lead. Henderson’s in to score. Lauraniano goes to third. Cole Cowser comes through with an RBI single. And the Orioles go back in front. Four to three. Maria’s first and third. Two out. And he hits it sharply. One hop knocked down by Batty, but he has no play. And a run comes home. Well, it was a sharp one hopper, but it’s a play that Batty should have been able to make. And it cost the Mets a run. And now it’s five to three. See They they could be a home book. And they scored an error. That’s uh that’s a play you need to make with two out. [Applause] Get set to go. 3-2 coming. And he struck him out. Use the cutter away to get him and limit the damage. But two runs score. Orioles up 5-3 after five. Stew up third in the inning. and McNeel pulls one on the ground. O’Harn with a nice stop and Zugano covers one out. The letters of Orioles in right center field. That’s a base hit for Jackson. It’s going all the way back to the wall and Jackson having himself an impressive debut for the Orioles as his second double of the day. One and two to Westber and he hits it hard. Great play by Lindor. Firing home and safe. Oh, great job. That’s a close play. Lindor made a fantastic stop and a quick decision to come home against Jackson figuring that the catcher was not Garcia trying to put this inning to bed. And Cowser skies one shallow left. Nemo toward the line side retired, but the Orioles scratch it. That’s on the outside corner. Got him looking at a slider. Juan does not enjoy the call by Malach Moore, but reaches for that and pops it up in foul ground. Batty opening for a play right to the railing. He got it and then he flips on the railing. Beautiful play by Batty [Applause] with a four-run lead on the ground to third. Another chance for Batty. More routine this time. Two out and it’s on the outside corner. Got him looking at a change up. And so Garcia retires eight in a row. McNeel’s 0 for two in a walk in this game. Mets are in danger of being swept in a double header for the second time in three tries this year. They got swept for the Orioles and McNeel unperfects them with a base hit. So the Mets get something started in the ninth. the lead off hit for McNeel. His first hit in this series and a half swing. Did he go? He went around and it’s two. Our toentos and Marc goes down swinging. Nasty splitter by Dominguez for the first down. 3-2 to Batty and it’s outside ball four. He went with a splitter and missed badly with it. And now the Mets need just one more base runner to get the tying run to bat. Neil at second, Batty at first, and Mauricio flies one along the left field line. Overcomes sliding and he made the catch. Wow. [Applause] Ouras with a gorgeous sliding play. lost his shoe and he struck him out with a fast ball and the Orioles sweep the double header and take two out of three in the series. [Music] Mets can’t put together enough pitches.
