Wemby shot poorly in his SL debut so I’m not worried. Cooper Flagg showcased a whole lot of positives in other areas of the game asides from his poor shooting night.

  1. Yep. Wembanyama was bad in his SL league debut too. Take it with a grain of salt.

Better days ahead when teams aren’t solely focused on denying you. Playing with Kyrie, AD, Klay, etc will make things much easier

  2. Just a reminder some pundit or anon GM or something tried to make “Booty Gobert” a thing after Wemby’s 1st SL game lol

  3. I mean it was clear he was chucking shots to just get a feel, wouldnt be worried about him.

  4. Shot was off but I like literally everything else

Thought it was a great showing despite the box score. Lakers pressured him NON STOP

Played 33 mins in SL which is crazy

  5. Just a reminder, Wemby’s first summer league game: 9/8/3 with 5 blocks, 2-13 from the field.

What am I saying, y’all are gonna overreact anyways. Flagg will be fine though. You could see what’s going to make him great. Just needs to get actual NBA-level reps which starts here obviously.

  6. The Tatum comparisons are scarily accurate, all the way down to bailing defenders out by taking contested middies instead of using his physical advantages to take it to the rim.

  7. Ace Bailey – 23% shooting in his debut. Cooper Flagg – 23% shooting in his debut.

  8. It’s really funny how the last two plays of the game were a missed 15 footer from Flagg and a missed 30 footer from Bronny

  9. he clearly looked way above the field as an athlete and you can see his potential defensively. He was smart as a passer as well. But the shot needs work and he is not developed as a perimeter offensive creator.

Forget about the shooting splits they will get better. He needs to be able to get to the rim though. Biggest issue was the inability to get all the way to the hoop so he had to settle for jumpers. Doesn’t feel like he has lot of moves dribbling or in the post. Like his handle is good to not lose the ball and get around the court but not break an NBA defense down.

Fortunately, he’s in a situation where all the high level talent will make him look better and focus on his strengths. The summer league setting highlights his weaknesses more.

  10. Bust. Sorry Mavs, we’ll give you Reed Sheppard and a 2035 pick swap for him

  11. i have seen enough, send him to poverty franchise like the Spurs. He is not Dallas Mavericks’ material
