🚨BREAKING: Chicago Bears Extend Ryan Poles | Bears News
Bear down, Bears fans. I know what you’re thinking. Harrison Graham looks a whole lot different. What’s going on, Bears fans? Welcome into Bears Now by Chad Sports. My name is Moose and if you’re wondering why on earth Harrison Graham is not in this video, I’m stepping in for him today as he is on a vacation at Hurricane Harbor. So, I had to step in as the only other resident Bears fan here in the office. And for good news, the Bears and general manager Ryan Poles have agreed on a three-year extension that will bring him into or keep him locked into the franchise until 2029, meaning he is paired with Ben Johnson through the remainder of that contract. And you’re allowed to have mixed feelings about this. I know I certainly do because during Ryan Ples’s times, there have been the highest of highs and there have been the lowest of lows. So, I’m going to ask you this point blank. What’s your one-word reaction to the Ryan Polls extension? You’re allowed to, like I said, feel whatever type of way you do feel about this, but if I had to sum up my thoughts with one word, optimistic. I hope this is the right move. I hope that bringing in Ben Johnson to completely reshape the fabric of what this franchise has been known for, which is defense wins championships. I hope that Ryan Ples has made the right decision. And I believe that the rest of the Bears front office has looked at this and said, “Look, the moves that you’ve made so far, we believe highly in. You went out and spent money on a genius offensive-minded head coach. You fired Matt Eberloose during the middle of the season, something the Bears have never done in their entire franchise. And someone who’s grown up on the south side of Chicago, I’ve kept up with this team my entire life. Trust me, I know the perils and pitfalls of this organization. Chefty on the whole move. Since being hired in 2022, Ryan Poles has overseen a full-scale rebuild in Chicago, highlighted by the blockbuster trade of the number one overall pick to 2023 to Carolina, which helped bring Caleb Williams, the promised one, to the land of the Windy City. Polls also hired Ben Johnson this off season, signaling a new era of Bears football built around its franchise quarterback. So I think you’re all wondering the same thing that I am or at least you know remembering the same thing that I am which was questions last year around this time were is polls the right man for the job? I can remember very vividly being one of the people last offseason that was like hey if you’ve gotten rid of Matt Eberlu isn’t it time to get rid of the GM as well and just start fresh. But things didn’t happen that way. They hire Ben Johnson. It looks like they are locked stepped in step, stride for stride with each other until the remainder of that contract until 2029. Now, I didn’t want to go an entire Bears episode without at least hearing from our fearless leader Harrison Graham. So, here he is from Hurricane Harbor on the polls extension. Breaking Chicago Bears news as Ryan Ples has signed a three-year contract extension to keep him in Chicago through the 2029 season that aligns him up with new head coach Ben Johnson as both now have 5-year contracts. I’m actually at a water park right now. So, I’m not going to be able to film a full video on this breaking news at the moment, but the chat sports guys will handle this in house for you. Uh, I will try to do a video from home either later tonight or tomorrow uh to have some more thoughts on this, but Ryan Poles has clearly had some hits. He’s had some misses. I think he’s a pretty smart guy. If you were going to keep him, it makes sense to align him with Ben Johnson. So, I’m good with this move. You guys let me know what y’all think. Hit that subscribe button. Have a great day and stay tuned for a longer video. Bear down. We’re going to bring in producer Cullen now, who obviously has spent quite a bit of time here as the producer for Bears. Now, Cully, let’s hear from you. What uh what’s your first thoughts and reactions to the Ryan Ples extension? Uh pleasantly surprised, I guess, would be a two-word answer to the one-word question that you asked earlier, Moose. And look, I mean, the Bears have kind of gone through this kind of, let’s call it turmoil with, you know, the quarterback position and the head coaching position, but Ryan Ples now is kind of locked in in lock step with Ben Johnson as you said. And look, with the Bears, right, you’ve gone through the Mitch Trabiscy era, the Justin Fields era, and now you’re going through the Caleb Williams era. It’s what smart franchises do is not only, you know, lock down the quarterback position, but surround the leading head positions with that quarterback position. and you hope Caleb Williams is going to be the answer, but now you’ve got Ben Johnson who is, you know, the offensive mind, the number one head coach prospect from this packed off season. You hired him. Now you lock in Ryan Ples with Ben Johnson and hopefully with Caleb Williams to create that dynamic trio to lead Chicago into, you know, this season and seasons beyond. And I really do think that this move is going to be something where it’s either going to work or it doesn’t work, but either way, they’re committed and they’re fully locked in to this trio. One thing that I will agree with you on here, Cullen, is the decisiveness of this decision. Right. The last thing that Bears fans want to see is the the uncertainty of their future when it comes to not only the head coach, quarterback, and the front office. Because for so long, there have been so many questions. Is Matt Ngi the guy? Is Matt Eberloose the guy? Was John Fox the guy? There were so many what-ifs at quarterback. And within the front office, there was always that understanding that the Bears aren’t going to go out and spend money on a very highly touted and sought-after offensive-minded head coach. So, the fact that they got rid of Ira Flu in the middle of the season, a move they’ve never done, but went out and hired Ben Johnson proves to me that they believe that this is the right decision. And that’s something that at least in my opinion is refreshing from the Bears organization that even if it becomes the wrong decision, at least they’ve locked in something that they believe is their future. So only time will tell to see if this is the right decision. So like we said, it’s clear that polls and Johnson are paired at the hip together. But what does it mean going forward for Bears fans? Are the Bears set to take the next step? That’s the question in everybody’s mind. All Bears fans want to know is this the year, is this the beginning of what is to be promised as a new framing, a new work uh or excuse me, a new framing of the Chicago Bears franchise. So, in my opinion, the plan was four steps. You got to hire the offensive-minded genius. They went out and spent a ton of money on Ben Johnson. Check that off the list. Then you kept the continuity in the front office. The last thing, like we said, is that you wanted Caleb Williams to have two head coaches and two GMs. So, at least there’s at least some stability right now in the front office. Number three, doubling down on offense in the draft. I’ll be the first one to say it. I wasn’t necessarily sure how much I loved the Coulson Lovelin pick in round one. I love the Luther Burden pick, but the more and more that I see uh you know what the scouting reports have on Loveland and where I think this can go from a two tight end set for Ben Johnson’s offense. The more and more I’m excited to see what kind of product they can put on the field in 2025 and then finally develop Caleb into the man because it all starts and stops with the quarterback. It’s quarterback driven league. Caleb was taken number one overall, right? We’re talking about a kid that at USC is a Heisman winner, one of the most talented prospects we’ve ever seen coming out of college. And last year, I thought Caleb’s numbers were fine. But it’s clear this coaching staff last year had no idea how to develop a quarterback. Shane Waldron, dumpster fire. Matt Eberfloose, dumpster fire. We now finally see what the Bears are trying to do, which is we’re going to try and make this franchise a standout the way the other teams in the NFL who have had success. We’re going to use their blueprint, their model. Andy Ree, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Shawn McDermott, although he’s a defensive-minded head coach. Zack Taylor, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, John Harbaugh, all of the teams that have success in the postseason have a dynamic quarterback head coach combo. So, what’s my projection for the Bears in 2025? 10 and seven, making the playoffs. I think that’s not outlandish. Doubling your wins from 2024 seems to be something that I believe the Bears can do at this point, and it only will get higher from here. So, feels like we’ve asked you this question before. At least, I’m sure Cullen can step in and answer that question for sure. Will the Bears make the playoffs in 2025? Yes or no? And if you do think that they are going to make the playoffs, awesome. Love to hear it. If not, let me know why in the comment section down below. Never let it be said that Moose never hosted a Bears video here by Chat Sports. It might be the only one that I make, and that’s fine with me because at least I got in one. Bears fans cannot wait to see what the season has in store for us. What’s your one word reaction to the Ryan Poles extension?
Moose! Bear down.
I believe it's a good move. I like where he is taking us.
All hail KING POLES 🙌
……You're not Ron 😮 – Brick
Bro that jump scared me
LOVEIT
One word reaction: ok. On the one hand he’s made quite a lot of good moves this offseason, made an amazing trade with the Panthers, and his extension could move the Bears toward stability. But on the other, his draft success is shaky (hopefully this year is different), he stuck with Flus after year 2, and potentially hindered Caleb’s long term development. I think it’s an all-in move on this QB/Coach/GM pairing and could boom or bust
What highs? We have sucked the whole time
He has won NOTHING , since he's been here. Just the truth.
Whatever at this point, people are going to be losing their damn minds when this team starts out 1-3 in the first four weeks. We are not going to win more than 7 games and I will explain why. Our RB is trash, I am sure BJ will get more out of guys like Swift and Rochon but the fact that we missed on RB in FA and the draft will cost this team wins. Our SS is one big hit away from his career being over and leaving our defense exposed for COMPETENT QBs to take the top off, this will cost us wins. Our DE group is nothing to write home about and their lack of the ability to get after opposing QBs combined with Brisker's career ending injury before week 7 will be the nail in the coffin for this defense and team. You have three positions that Poles could have addressed in the draft or FA and failed to do so every time to add another injured TE and another flameout WR. I hope to god I am wrong but this seems clear as day the way this season is going to play out.
His bad choice staying with eberflus has become something of excitement
you are what your record says you are. POLES BUILDS LAST PLACE TEAMS. He has made too many mistakes starting with Roquan Smith. Getting Caleb was pure luck. ANDWHERE IS OUR PASS RUSH
My one word reaction? Alignment. He his aligned with the new head coach Ben Johnson. It all makes sense.
Keep Moose
Moose well done filling the big man’s seat. My reaction to the news is… “f**king mistake” cuz I can’t stress it enough in one word. Poles Bears was supposed to be a 10 win team last year, they won 5. Every fan knew Flus should not be the coach…except poles. We hired an awful O Coordinator that sank the team. And drafting a tight end with a top 10 pick will only highlight just how dumb this guy is… unless he’s another bowers. Hopefully not another V Davis, K pitts, OJ Howard, E Ebron, j Gresham, T eifert.
Welcome moose! One word – blackmail. He has to have something on George mccaskey. Honestly, he has had 3 years and has not earned the extension. Ben chose Chicago I don’t think it was anything Poles has done. He should be very thankful that this helps create stability for the organization, but really not earned by him
Trust, that's my one word response. I trust the guy. Has he had some mistakes, sure, but show me a GM who is error free. Overall he's absolutely improved this roster during his time and dealing with some of the behind the scenes restrictions he's probably had to put up with with a cheap ownership (like keeping Eberflus when it was clear he wouldn't survive the season). If Ryan and Ben are on the same page with building this roster, I feel great about the future of this franchise.
Need more Moose appearances going forward. I like the cut of his jib.
There haven't been any highs. He took over a mediocre team and immediately turned us into bottom feeder. He hasn't drafted a single pro bowler.
Moose is goated fill in for Harrison
Nice
Awesome
Good!
4 seconds under the 10min threshold. Harrison would never let this happen 😉
BOOOOOOOO!
Ryan Poles Had Daddy Kevin Warren micro managing him a few months ago!! This is pathic. 🤣🤣👎🏿👎🏿
Caleb will get both Ben Johnson AND Ryan Poles fired. TOO DANG FUNNY. 🤣
Nice job Moose….Severely disappointed in Harrison, not having Bears gear on at the Hurricane Harbor 😂😂😂😂😂
Who TF is this
LET HIM COOK CHEF POLES 👨🍳
His record is 15-36. How is this good news? Maybe for Packers fans. This shows how inept Bears’ ownership is. Why not just wait a year and see how this season plays out? What would be the downside? They’re just increasing their risk for no reason. This is why the Bears have won 10 playoff games in the 59 year Super Bowl era.
Lots of Boot Licken on this channel. Ryan Poles has NOT EARNED this extension. FACT. 🤣🤣👎🏿👎🏿
At this point last year, Poles was all in on Eberflus. Why extend him now before we know if the off-season has really fixed anything. Extend him mid-season if he earns it.
Should have waited until the season got underway. This is the same crap they did with giving Jay Cutler all of that money before he performed. What a waste, but we'll see…
Where would you guys rank Poles vs the Bears GMs since Hatley?
Love it ❤
BRO quit where you are RIGHT NOW>.. and START YOUR OWN BEARS CONTENT I think you would do just fine…. VERY NICE job….HArrison appreciates it as well….
They will miss the playoffs by a hair.
15 wins in 3 years and gets an extension?
SH*T! 😳🤬🤮
Bring back the Moose on a regular basis. Bear Down Baby!
awesome//// stability
We need to get this dude and Harrison commenting on this upcoming season together. This guys great.
