Let’s start making you some uh some money a hand over fist. easy for me to say, but you know, we’re going to get right to it because I’m excited to get to this game. Between the Los Angeles Angels and the Arizona Diamondbacks for the Angels, Tyler Anderson listed as the starter, while Ryan Nelson will take the mound for the Diamondbacks here. And Anderson coming off a bit of a bumpy outing, you know, against the Toronto Blue Jays. Gave up two runs on five hits over uh five, excuse me, two runs in five innings of work uh in his last start. Gave up that on eight hits, only had two strikeouts, but was on the road. And Anderson has been far less effective on the road this season. A 5.47 erra compared to a 2.66 ERA at home. Has had a couple more starts on the road. 10 starts compared to eight at home. But a similar one and three record both home and away. So he is in a better spot hit, you know, pitching at home here against an Arizona Diamondbacks lineup that was hitting right left-handed pitching fairly well, you know, towards the end of the month of June. But in the month of July so far, you know, have not really been anything to write home about. They’re hitting 187. Their team OPS numbers are actually around the league average and their isolated power numbers are pretty good, which tell which is telling me the few opportunities that they’re get, they’re putting a charge into the baseball and, you know, doing some damage with uh, you know, with some powerful hits. Now, Anderson this season has given up 17 extra base hits at home, but only five home runs. So, you know, I think that Anderson could have a good start here. He’s had good numbers against, you know, the Diamondbacks in his recent starts against them going back to 2023 and 2022. a 0.580 RA in his last five starts against Arizona. Now, granted, the team has changed a fair bit since then, but still solid numbers and uh you know, I think that the Diamondbacks could struggle here. Now, Ryan Nelson is on a tear. You know, you look at his last five starts, two runs or less allowed in all of them. He’s gone into the seventh inning and seven full in his last two starts. But the Angels have been, you know, a sneaky, you know, team against right-handed pitching. Now, they’re not hitting all that well against right-handed pitching themselves in the month. Um, in the month of July, they haven’t necessarily been anything special. You know, they’re hitting 252, but their isolated power numbers are below league average. So are their team OPS numbers. But I feel like I can just trust Tyler Anderson at home here. Um, I just feel like I the Diamondbacks just aren’t consistent enough against left-handed pitching for me to really rely on in this one. So, I just think it’s worth taking a shot on some plus money here with the Angels. Maybe I’ll reevaluate and, you know, have an updated maybe if I change my mind in the morning because sometimes that does happen. But I’m pretty sold on the Angels right now in this spot.
