Frankly, I’d be happy with $13 million. The cap is skyrocketing over the next few years, so this is really only a $3 million raise for a guy that has a genuine chance at the Hart and Selke this year.
Not to mention that the only other notable player who needs resigning after next year is Dorofeyev.
Match the Marner deal. Anything more than that is ridiculous.
Paul Marner is fuming at this blatant disrespect.
He’s probably waiting to see what McDavid signs for and then he’ll be somewhere between Marner and McDavid (probably closer to Marner).
