Phoenix Suns vs Washington Wizards Full Game Highlights – July 11, 2025 | NBA Summer League
with some former first round picks on their roster here in summer league. And the Wizards will have the first possession of the ball game, first possession of the ball game. We look for Sar to get involved here. He’s been a good lob threat. And he was a good lob straight on threat on that one. Perfectly timed. You want to get You want to get your former first pick from a year ago off to a great start. Wow. An imperious drive by Ryan Dunn, man. It looks good every time it comes off his fingertips. It looks the same. Perfect rotation, perfect arc. He gets his feet set and has time. It’s automatic. And George back at the other end with a three ball for the Wizards. They got a threeon one. The Suns do. And the pass batted away nicely by George. Little floater inside comes off and a sweet tip for the bucket by Keshan George out of Miami. Malawatch on the bounce spins and fires. Nice looking left and he used all the irons. Tim Malawatch not shy about shooting the three. That’s the part of the game that a lot of people slept on and didn’t see at Duke. Deari Carol said his goal for him in this game is to get up five or six on the turnover. Here come the Suns and they give it right back. Johnson bounc it off of Malawatch. Okay, little hand one mixtape. Why not? And if he could pull that off, he had a path to the lane. Good defense by the Wizards to knock that out of Match’s hands. George on the break out to the wing. Johnson for three. Booked that one. Tomorrow tips it off at 3:30. Then Indiana OKC. Sacramento, Chicago at 8, goal by Minnesota and Denver at 1000 p.m. Sar it off to Keshan George and snatches it back off the dribble. Man, that was smooth. It helps when you’ve got this much NBA experience on the floor. Guys who have been through it already think okay you’re prone to rush it a lot more your first time through it. Wood from deep. And the Wizards controlling the defensive glass on the drive and a strong move inside the pass knocked away. Washington has numbers three on two. Johnson little float game is good. Hill looking for Don. Seven on the shot clock. Nice Cory into the lane and the dump down. Huntley turned up the base. Alexar on the floor right now for the Washington Wizards. was all rookie season ago for the young and rebuilding team. George got wide open and punched it home. Top of the key screen and just run into a straight curl. A lot of times the backside will empty out cuz you’re worried about the three-point shot and the lob up top. Good. And another slam dunk. Tough contested jumper that time by Trey Johnson who so far in this ball game has seven points. Wood this time slamming it home. And Phoenix now up by 10. Its largest lead of the game in the middle of a 10- nothing run right now. Run some zoom action for Bob Carrington who drills the three who now is going to get an opportunity I think to get minutes and put up numbers cuz he’s a flatout natural scorer and athlete in the open floor. Oh, George put Malawatch in the weight room off the drag screen. That three was pure. That’s the guy that you love watching shoot. Kobe Bray three-point field goal percentage a season ago at 49%. Here’s Trey Johnson on the break. Did it himself and lays it in. First team all rookie. Averaged 17 points a game over his last 15 to close the season, but he’s barely touched the ball here in the first half of this game. Ray on the baseline. Battle tried to cut. Couldn’t get the pass though. AJ Johnson raising up. Oh, he turned up the base again. He tried to get fancy with a left-handed layup. That ball’s probably going to get erased. And here we go. A little room service again. This time for Watkins. And it’s showtime for the Wizards suddenly. And Watkins really got off the floor on that contest by Bray. He thought he had a cleaner look than that. Watkins closed up that space. Tough shot. Got it. Collins on the cross. Crosscourt find to Bray. They run him off the three-point line. Goes to the mid-range and couldn’t convert. Done on the offensive glass and the putback. Make that give him a plaque or a trophy. First team all rookie. Show him that in the locker room. Guys remember this Bray with the 15-footer. Pure had something to do with Alex Sar being a lot more engaged offensively in this third quarter as Bray got a nice layup on confidence level to know you can get that off in that kind of trap. Oh, Sar put Malawatch in the friend zone with a block above. They’re in the second time this quarter and a conversion at the other end. Here’s Malawatch. This time they couldn’t block him with his willingness to fight over that screen 45 ft out and it forced Agadar in a tough spot. Little too much shoulder to get the offensive foul. Johnson off the bounce. Got it. Butter tries some things a little bit out of your comfort zone that you didn’t get a chance to do as a rookie. Bray a logo three. That’s pure baseline drift. One more. Carrington one more. That three comes off. Sar underneath battling for the offensive rebound and Malaw said, “Hey, I got a little something for you this time.” Sun’s summer debut. How do you think it’s going so far? It’s going pretty good. I mean, we’re winning. Uh team is playing great. Just glad that, you know, I have the opportunity to play for this such a great team. You jumped out to a hot start. Just what was your mentality coming into this game and what did you want to prove? Just play my game and do what I do best. You know, my teammates doing a great job of putting me in position to do that. So, all I can do is, you know, repay it back to them. And why do you feel like you guys have been able to jump out to such a large lead here in the second half? Uh, it’s our practice, man. We’re we’re a group that we bonded really fast and we got right to work as soon as we got into training camp. We’re showing it right now. Thanks, Kobe. We appreciate the time. Thank you. Great international experience has helped him here tonight. Wood out top amid pick and roll. Pulls it back from 15. Wood got it to fall is a constant. And there has been Devin Booker recently signing two-year extension and a nice slam on a hard roll to the bucket. Good help off to the corner. Good ball fake and step through by Riley and a little jelly at the rim by Riley. He’s got five. That was the Phoenix Suns. It might be another team whose front office he impresses and gets an opportunity with them. And Ryan Dunn drills the three. You don’t just want to be another guy or have some success, but if you do want to be truly great, that’s exactly what it takes. That’s what your schedule looks like. An audacious deep three by Boogie Ellis. Wood has a carum off the rim and Washington on the run. Playing with a little bit of urgency. George with the layup. Under control but aggressive at the same time. That’s really the combination you’re trying to get here. You want to absolutely take advantage of the opportunities, but if you play out of control in a in a 20point game with five minutes to go, but it’s okay. Oh, that one good. Took it hard and got the finish. Contested even though he had time to get that off. Little side step gets himself on balance so he can shoot with the left-handed finish that time. one. Hol Sar all over him this time. Halawatch got it the ball. Hari Carol said he wanted him to shoot about five or six threes tonight. Here’s Sar from deep. He knocks it home. Trey Johnson walks into the three ball and brings one up. There’s Idaro driving baseline. Nice slug by Malawatch and he caught a body underneath. Halawatch off the elbow. And here’s Sar leading the break and they want him taking that shot and I think he’s going to be able to take and make that shot he just took Marawatch but he rushed that for the Wizards to be in the playoff picture in a wideopen Eastern Conference. Folks, that’ll pretty much do it. The Phoenix Suns will win
