Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Diego Padres (7-10-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

[Music] 955 956. We’ve got Eduardo Rodriguez and the Diamondbacks at – 116 and this [ __ ] Randy Vasquez and the Padres’s at plus 106. Total of 8 and a half with some juice to the over at minus 120. Corby, I say this [ __ ] Randy Vasquez because I want to fade this guy every time. I want to take overs every time and then every time I do it. I don’t know how this guy gets the outs, but it’s really really frustrating. I know he’s no good. Do the Diamondbacks finally beat up on this guy today because he just inex. It’s like Kyle Hendrickson. It’s driving me insane. Yeah, his stuff definitely isn’t good. Um I was surprised by this total. I guess you could say the Padres’s ballpark at base runner. you like that? Um is is a is susceptive to making bad pitchers look good. It doesn’t give it’s like the opposite of um the Red’s ballpark, but it uh I I still just think this is probably a bit too low. Um the Diamondbacks have plenty of offense. I think baseball talked about using last 500s, they’re the number one offense in baseball. I I believe I heard a couple days ago. See, I listen sometimes on the show. And the Padres’s always dangerous. Basically five guys batting over 280 expected batting average. So, don’t love either of these pitchers. Um the the price on the money line kind of says like even with a crappy pitcher, the the Padres’s are going to have a shot in it. And I think if they have a shot because there’s a lot of runs, so lean towards the over. Didn’t bet it. Um but I do think the over is a decent play here. Anthony Padilla says, “I love this show.” We love you. We appreciate that. Mark Martin says, “Bub, Kyle, that’s the unhitable.” Randy Vasquez to you, sir. BDub, I know you’ve gone through this with me with this guy too, right? Like what the hell? What the hell Vasquez? And on the other side, Eduardo Rodriguez. Talk about inconsistent. This is a guy can go out and strike out 10 or give up 10 runs before he records an out. So, what the hell do we do with this game? Yeah, I’ve said it on the show before. I’m going to play against Randy Vasquez. He’s the worst base winner pitcher. And there’s there’s some real crappers on in the in the Major League Baseball, including Sense Amelia who went out. And I bet on Sense Amelia. I I I I mean I I I will I but do not bet the sense ameilia but you know what I’m saying. I mean and I did and it it kind of I can’t believe you did that. But I you know what I I hedge I hedged myself and I bet the over and I bet a Baltimore guy of Breu on total basis. So I was actually two for three in that. Uh but I I don’t know. That’s what the that’s what the model said, the uh the advanced model. And so it makes me feel better when Corby says a lot of guys are are are betting on Colorado. Uh you know Corby some some sometimes he he’s he’s very soothing with his analysis because I can always think about it. Sometimes he’s very annoying because then I won’t bet on a pitcher that he loves and then the pitcher goes blows goes blow blows up and then it’s like oh anyway getting back to this game I I’m digressing a little bit. Yeah, I’m betting against Vasquez. His K percentage in the zero percentile. his BBK is 888. The average BBK is about 37. That’s double average, right? And then if you’re looking at at Rod, he’s serviceable. You know, he’s an average pitcher. I think that there there’d be no argument there. Uh and then what’s interesting is with the the subtractions from the Dodger lineup and then the addition of Corbin Carroll back into the Diamondbacks lineup, who’s the number one hitting team in baseball last 500 played appearances analyzed? your must be the Orioles against lefties. Uh the Rockies Rockies on the road. Noies on the road. Rockies on the road. No, it’s it’s it’s your Arizona Dark. So So number one offense in baseball and and the the Padres’s offense, I will agree with with Corby is is somewhat formidable, 10th in baseball. And then both bullpens, this is surprising, after running the bullpen, uh the current depth, active bullpen, if you will. Uh the Diamondbacks are actually 18th in baseball, which I thought that they would they would be 30 teams in baseball. I thought they’d be 45th the way that they’ve blown saves for me uh with the on the base winner parlay, but they’re actually a little bit better than the than the uh the Padres’s in this situation. So yeah, it’s a it’s a minus 173 uh when you put it in the mixer, Kyle, and uh the second leg of the base winter parlay. And this thing’s this thing’s a banger. It’s going to pay plus 266. I put it out last night. Plus 236. Uh so I’m getting actually 30 cents in in line movement the other way. Don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing, but if it hits, it’s going to hit pretty good. Yeah, I’m always happy when that happens and I’m like, wait a minute. Does this mean I’m wrong? This means I’m dead. It usually does. I mean I don’t like I really don’t like that [ __ ] But hey, you know, these are good teams. I’ I’ve been high on both teams all year and and uh this parlay. Okay, so let’s change this. When it hits, it’s going to hit plus 266. Kyle, we got plus 265 on here. Pretty good. Yeah, plus 265 the base winner parlay today. And yeah, I I always try to talk myself into Okay, well, the line’s moving the wrong way, but I know better than they do. I’m a pillar in this industry. Okay, I obviously know. That’s what I tell myself in the mirror, and it always goes bad. Uh it’s it’s when I start getting into the pillar talk, you know, and then you start really then [ __ ] just goes uh really off the rail. You know what? It doesn’t work all the time because they talk about uh Corby knows knows probably more than anybody about this u expected value based on you you putting a game out at a certain time and then the line moves kind of towards your line and you have expected value on that. Well, hell, I I would take not expected value and and actual wins, right? It’s like, “Oh, my expected value is great, but I’m [ __ ] losing.” And so, like, you know, so it’s it’s all but but usually if you guys want to handicap the handicapper, usually if the line moves towards my line on the parlay, uh, it’s a good it it’s actually a really good sign. Uh, but, you know, it’s it’s it’s not fail safe either way. So, uh, let’s let’s let’s hit this thing because that felt good the other day. I tell you what, the baseball felt good the other day with that walk-off home run. And I thought walk off inside the park. Did you see that ball zing off the wall? The weird angle it took. It hit and then it these guys are You know what? It all in all um full transparency, we’re watching Love Island with with my wife and so like I I actually I have a protein drink before so I before I go to sleep and so I’m go I’m out there like watching the timing was great. I was it was right out there. I had it on my phone and I said, “This book, this ball’s going to go and then it went off the wall.” Oh, that was good. I I felt good about that because, you know, sometimes you have games where you’re like, “Oh, this game’s going to hit.” You have the money spent, you know, you’re feeling good about it and then they come back from the dead, the other team, the wrong team, the villains. And this was a case where it’s, you know, you can’t win them all type thing. And then, well, you maybe you can because they came back from and did it. Miracle. My favorite part about the play is one of my favorite things in baseball. we don’t get all the time. It’s when the throw’s coming in from the outfield and they already know the runner’s going to be safe and they sort of do this like they don’t fully catch the ball. They do this little flip relay thing where they kind of catch it and flip around and they don’t really look and aim. I think it’s just a funny I love watching it. I don’t know why, but yeah, that one you bring up a good point, Kyle. One of my new favorite things in baseball is to watch uh Trent Gisham field and outfield. Have Have you watched this guy? Like if it’s the third out, he’ll just he’ll catch it in like the top of his glove and sling it as he catches it over to Aaron like like so fast that u he almost got an umpire ejected the other day. I think it was the Orioles game. I could be wrong there, but he caught it and slung it at Aaron Judge so quick that the the um manager came out and he’s like he didn’t catch the ball and the the he and he I mean Trent Gisham has the most swag out in the outfield I’ve ever seen. It is hilarious to watch. Go look up uh Trent Gisham. I guess you would call that ball flip. I don’t know. Hot dog. He’s hot dogging is what he doing. When you hot dog in my outfield, you get benched. No hot dogging out there. If you’re playing MLB the show and you do that little hot dog, I’m taking you out. You’re out of the game. It’s stressful to watch. Like the other day he um he like overran or I guess underran a ball on purpose. instead of catching up here like a normal human being, he had it down by his knees and just like kept running and the ball just landed right in it and he just continued running to the tugout and I was like, “Dude, if you mess up one time, you’re going to look like an idiot.” But he doesn’t I mean, it’s stressful every single time I watch it.
