Pirates vs. Twins Game Highlights (7/11/25) | MLB Highlights

Minnesota will continue inter league play tonight. The Pittsburgh Pirates in town for a three game series and it all kicks off shortly with a high caliber pitching matchup. And Paul and joe Ryan, we’re going to get to watch two of the most dynamic center fielders, Cruz and Byron Buxton. They have been everything and more for their respective clubs. This is going to be fun. Well, Joe ryan getting ready to jump out onto the field here, it will be Joe’s final start before he appears in the all star game. Tommy Pham is in there and he’ll lead it off tonight. 95 paints Sinker starts off the plate that looks like a ball late movement. All Tommy Pham can do is watch and Gonzalez works a walk that puts two on with two on and o’neil Cruz is coming up oh, off the glove and that’s going to cost the twins and ryan as the bases are loaded for keep Brian Hayes. Hayes has been good lately in spots like this popped up. Playable. Brooks Lee makes the play and the inning is over. So ryan Labors but denies the Pirates any first inning run. Paul Sines takes the mound and Byron Buxton, an all star stand in for the Twins and there’s another strikeout that’s 126 on the year. You can tell by that. Take Byron Buxton standing up there looking for something off speed and at 99 miles an hour you just can’t adjust to it. Willie Castro is the one out hitter and a swing and a miss and a high fastball and that is back to back cases for skins so quickly two up and two down for Skes bases empty. Trevor Larnach is coming up. He does strikes out the side in order here in Minneapolis, Joe Ryan hasn’t given up a run through two innings. He’ll face Reynolds to Tom all struck him out. So a good sequence there, a breaking ball at 76 2nd punch out for Joe and two out single from Gonzalez. So he is on for the second time. The second at bat for Cruz. Cruz slices one to left field sending Castro back will, he will run it down on the warning track. So a fine running catch by Willie Castro in left and another scoreless frame from Joe Ryan. And now the batter is going to be spencer Horowitz Hoitz over his last 10, a ground ball base hit for Spencer Hurwitz, fourth hit for the Pirates. They have all the base runners tonight. Henry davis walked his first time. He’s coming up and a swing and a Miss nice little splitter right there. That was a good pitch. Two down. Number nine hitter kind of for a batch swinging the ball hit to right base hit and it may tail toward the wall Warner can’t cut it off and leaves it for Buxton touching third and heading home is Horwitz. Here’s the relay. The is safe. The ball rolls out from Vasquez kind of flip in at third. Pirates lead it one to nothing by I KF right there shooting the gap in right center field. You could tell he was trying to look for a pitch out over the plate to go to the right side of the infield. Once that ball got past matt Walner in in right field and Byron Buxton had to field it off the wall. Mike Belo did a great job reading that and sending Spencer Horowitz there, Paul Skeens and so far perk through three innings, the twins will have their second. Look at Skeens. Byron Buxton struck out looking to third hugging the Hayes has to hurry. First base runner leadoff hit here in the fourth tying run is on Willie Castro struck out his first time to the ground is short and a flip to second is not in time to first and Willie didn’t run and Willi is out. Buxton is safe and Castro is out. Number one will thought it was a foul ball. Well, he went down to a knee and he thought he fouled that ball off his foot, but they won’t challenge. It did not hit his foot and he was, he was halfway to first. Not even running. Here’s Trevor Larnach. He’s ding tonight with a dozen home runs and Larn sends one in the air to right field and deep. This one is back towards the wall and that is gone. A home run, Trevor Larnach with the one swinging the bat has put the twins on top. It’s 21 here in the fourth inning sixth home run allowed by Skeens and the first one hit away from PNC park. This season, joe Ryan out Danny Coolum is in. Tanner will work to o’neil Cruz to start the sixth swinging the ball hit the other way on the line base hit for Cruz. That is a nice piece of hitting there for oil. Cruz Hayes back for 2 to 2 flyouts. Cruz goes, it would be on first move he takes off and the pitch swing and a miss and Vasquez no throw. So Hayes strikes out. So Cruz is 29 stolen base and Spencer Hoitz, a lefty lefty matchup with one out center field and playable. Buxton will catch it. Cruz will tag and hold and Coolum will depart and the beef is coming in. Henry davis, the catcher and that’s popped up. Buck started back. Now, drifts in calls and catches and that’s it. Two pitches and Stewart is going to the dugout, we go to the bottom of the sixth inning all goes 62 runs, five hits and coming on out of the Pirates pen , here comes Carmen Magin. Carlos is zero for two up the middle and into center field ground ball single for Correa works Lee at a base hit to write his last time swing and struck him out. Magin strikes out Lee for the second out. Stays with the change up all the way through the at bat. there. It looked like he got on the side of it, maybe cut it a little bit. Matt Walner 90 7-Up and back to back cases gets us to the seventh inning at target field. And new pitcher coming out for the twins right hander Leland. There he is right there proud of North ST Paul takes over one run game. Sean Cursey Junior. Now in right field sent back to the wall, he will turn and that’s off the limestone. He played it well, throw comes into second base and pham is going to be out to Sean Cursey Junior who had entered in right field for matt Walner fielded that ball beautifully off the face. The Winnebago Porch in right field. He took it off the limestone and he threw a strike to second base , Deshaun Kersey Junior locked in and let’s see if Correa is ok. He is down, looks like he took the helmet to the shin teammates all gather around the shortstop and not able to put much weight at all on that right leg right foot. Correa departs Byron Buxton against Carmen Magin swing and a miss pitch. Three strikeouts for Minsky Castro is zero for three. A couple of strikeouts. Here’s a 22 strike three call and Maki with back to back strikeouts to start the eighth inning face for a second time. Swing a ground ball on the second base. Two hops for Gonzalez with time throws him out and Carmen very nice effort tonight. Three scoreless innings keeping the Pirates right in this game, Juan Durant is on to try to shave it. He has 14 saves and 16 tries. Keep ryan Hayes leads off for the Pirates here in the ninth to the right side. Cody Clements plays the high hop one away. Harwit coming up fighting that off Spencer Horwitz on an 01 pitch is a board, but it’s Jack Soins as the pinch runner for Horwitz. Pittsburgh also has a pinch hitter up right now. This is adam Frazier batting for the catcher davis runner goes to , to second base is not going to be in time. And so Winski slides in safely and the tying run now in scoring position, he struck him out on a breaking ball two down one more hurdle to clear and that’s Isaiah Kerle. He struck him out a splitter at 100 and the twins beat the Pirates by 12 on the final. Twins have won seven of their last nine here at home and rock on. The twins continue to play better baseball here as we close out the first half.
