✭ 5 defensive storylines MOST important Dallas Cowboys training camp
Man, you know, last time we did uh uh certain things that I’d be looking for uh in training camp pertaining to the offense. I could have did everything in one day, but content. It’s content. You know what I mean? So, um I I did have the day and I did have on the offensive side. We’re going to talk about defense today. You know, um I’m going to be in Oxnard the 21st through the 29th. I’m going to get two padded practices in. I believe two or three. Uh and you know, we’ll we’ll be around kind of seeing them through the through the through the shells and the shorts or whatnot. You could still get a lot of informations and in and shells and shorts. you know, padded practice is is going to really uh matter a lot for the uh trenches and all that, but at the end of the day, it’s all, you know, it all is what it is at the end of the day. But I got certain observations that I’m looking for. If you want to see my offensive top five, then y’all can go and check out my offensive top five video. It should be the last thing I did. That was last Wednesday when I did it. But today, I wanted to take a look at the defense, the the defensive five things that I’m looking for. Um cuz I think these things are important and it’s not just going to be some easy stuff like uh will Michael Parsons have his money. I think that’s too easy. You know, it won’t be um will Don Bland catch interceptions. I think there are some deeper storylines that we need to keep eyes on as Cowboy fans and I’m going to have my uh RayBan uh uh meta camera glasses on getting all the film and you know developing everything with my eyes with my glasses on. Um, so I just wanted to give y’all the heads up on what I’m looking for. Of course, you can go in the comments and tell me what you’re going to be looking for, but I just got a certain thing, a certain amount of things that’s on my mind. All right. And I guess we’ll just start here. All these are really great by the way. Yeah. I mean, how about this? I want to know Mayor’s Luile’s placement within the defense. Um, of course, you know, with new administration, new sponsors, new benefactors and beneficiaries. Um, Maris Lufoul, you know, he was a part of the Zimmer administration, right? Now, all these guys to a degree all kind of belong to the Jones administration, right? Like this scouting department, Jerry and Stephen and them, they all kind of draft these guys along with the coaches, right? So, it’s not just the coaches drafting these guys by themselves. So, Maris still has sponsors in his room, but the difference was last year, Mike Zimmer was like, “Damn, boy. Maris is so smart. I’m going to have Maris do XYZ. I think he could be the green dot guy.” Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. And that’s okay. Even though Maris is still a Jones’s Cowboy scouting department guy, regardless of the coaching change, Ibrafluence is here now. Ibrafluence immediately says, “This is the defense that we’re running.” Sandborn back in Chicago where I was last coaching, he has the black belt in this stuff. He’s the whisperer of this defense. He has experience in it. I think he’ll do well here. Sambborn has a sponsor in the damn defensive coach that calls the shot on who’s going to be on the field or not. Deone Clark is five coaches away or something like that. He’s like four or five coaches away from having a sponsor. I think it’s going to be closing in on him real fast now. Even though, you know, Lil Foul is a little different, but it’s all new to these guys. So Kenneth Murray who’s an administration guy traded for him honestly and Samburn is a part of the Chicago Bears administration with the Eberlu right so if you’re mayors Louisa that’s a couple of ways to look at you mind you in this whole linebacker conversation let me just be clear here everybody sitting back crossing their fingers waiting on Overon to come back and waiting on Overon to come back healthy so there’s another kind of kind of kick in this thing you know what I’m man. Um, then you got the pass rushers that are probably going to be taking linebacker reps. It’s going to be a lot of movement at the linebacker position, right? Or just standing up off the ball positions, right? So, Louisal played some Sam linebacker for you last year. Not a whole bunch, but he played some Sam. Um, Coach Zimmer was looking at him as if he could be a green dot Mike guy. Sure, Lufile in college in real life was a bonafide wheel type guy. He was a he was a a a hybrid safety will linebacker type guy and he’s not that far removed from his Notre Dame film, right? So, looking where Leaf Foul goes, first of all, we see what he looking like. Um, does he look drastically different than he than he did last year, but once we get once we hunker down on where he’s and he could be a guy that lines up everywhere, but once we line once we hunker down on where he’s going to be lined up at, then you can kind of musical chairs the rest of it, right? If Lufile is gonna be at Will, then you go, “All right, Lufile is gonna be competing or rotating with Sambar, right?” If he’s at Mike, then you feel like Luile is just going to be sitting behind Ken Murray. If Lufile is a Sam one, that tells you, okay, I flu is planning on using some some Sam linebacker in this situation. But for the most part, if we are using Sam, then Lufaile would be that first guy out. I think he could play all those positions. It just depends on where the other guys have them and where the coaches have them, you know, and and honestly, I think these these year two jumps matter. I think these these year two jumps are very important. And this is Maris Luau’s second year. To be fair, if I can keep it a buck for a second, Lu being a young guy will keep him in this system here long enough to where no matter what happens, even if the dominoes get washed, he’ll still kind of be around. What you mean by that, V? Um, Kenneth Murray and Sanborn are older. I don’t anticipate them being a part of any future conversations. So, next year when they may be gone or brought back on some friendly deal or not, we know Louis is going to be here an additional two more years after next year. Last year was his first year. This is his second year, then two more years after that. We know Louis is going to be here regardless for cheap. So, there’s no reason to really move away from him. I think Lufile is still the future of this position relatively, but I think we’re going to start to figure that out like right now. If they’re still pushing Lufoul in the rotation amongst these guys, that means they really still love Lu. He’s going to be a part of the future. If Lufile sits down, he may get bumped down the roster like Dem Clark was. I think Peanut Butter Watch is going to be very important. There’s a lot of people that just didn’t know. If you’re in the chat and you didn’t know what offseason peanut butter is, you you could let us know. I mean, I’m I’m about to explain it to you right now. I’m just curious about how many people are new here and haven’t heard me explain offseason peanut butter. Um, it was a joke that I made years ago. Uh, long long long time ago when I first started doing this YouTube thing. Y’ y’all can sub, by the way. I’m trying to get to 100 if y’all don’t mind. I appreciate y’all ain’t got to hit the like. Just just sub. Um, offseason peanut butter is this idea that a player fresh out of college, no matter how many years they’ve been playing in college, no matter how big they are, no matter what their size or or or metrics look like, they come into college, they come into the league from college big as hell, but still in their kid body somehow. But the NFL in one off season, not the offseason that that they got drafted in, but they get drafted, they play a rookie year, they get a off season, and then that second year their bodies come back totally transformed. They may weigh the same. Sometimes these guys even weigh less, but they come back humongous as hell. They cut the baby fat out, the the unnecessary fat, and they they they put muscle on them and and and people necks start to go away because they’re so big and they strong. And I go, damn, they must be on some magical offseason peanut butter. How they could just show up one month and three or four months later, they’re just humongous. Tyler Smith, uh, one time, you know, Pete was looking at him like, “Hey, man, Tyler Smith look kind of small.” And just that small time between Tyler Smith uh postdraft and Tyler Smith in training camp, Tyler Smith like gained a little bit of weight in just that small amount of time. People go, “Okay, well cool. Tyler Smith is massive.” But then Tyler Smith from his rookie campaign in his rookie campaign in training camp to his year two to his year three, Tyler Smith is ridiculously humongous now. He’s ridiculously humongous now, right? So that’s offseason peanut butter. So I have this thing called peanut butter watch to where when we’re in the midst of the off season and I just want to see who the hell got bigger. Marshon Nean is his second year. He’s a second round pick. We’re expecting a sophomore type leap out of him. I need him to be better. We all need him to be better. You know what I’m saying? and all eyes are going to be on him and that’s going to start with him being bigger or him being in his man body or his offseason peanut butter body. Mazy just need to get to 320. I don’t even know if he gonna get there, you know. But all this Mazy losing weight to possibly play three tech to have more burst and to get up field and all that. I I just it make me sick when when you draft Mazy to come play one tech a gap guy for you and then Mazy ends up playing at 305 pounds 295 pounds at as a B gap guy. you or you at least project him to be a B gap guy and they just throw him in a gap anyway at 305 or 308 pounds. It was nauseating having to deal with that and cover that. So Mazy I know and you know peanut butter watch is usually reserved for the rookies going into their next year their sophomore campaign. What this mazy what chat? What this? Mazy third year son chat. What this mazy third year? I’m hoping that we can get some positive effects from uh Mazy’s second year of full offseason peanut butter. I would hope that we get some some positive positive effects from that. In my mind, I would hope so cuz Mazy needs it. Mazy needs it. And if not Jay Toia, funny thing about Jay Touilia is he don’t need the peanut butter right now cuz he’s 340. He’s big as hell right now. He don’t really need the peanut butter. Let me tell you something about Jay Toia. Jay Toia gonna get the peanut butter anyway. And we’re going to be befuddled by how he lost 10 pounds but still come back bigger as hell. We’re going to be befuddled. He’s He’s going to be twice his size, 10 pounds lighter next year. Towia, it’s crazy. But that’s that though. And and you know, of course, there’s other peanut butter watches we we could be looking for. Um we could be looking for um you know, Kayn Carson if he’s put some some muscle on, you know what I mean? Like he he was a bit of a of a slimmer guy. You know, we just talked about Louis. Can he add some muscle to his frame? Uh because, you know, Kenny Murray swole as hell. Kenny Murray big Kenny Murray, you know what I’m saying? So it’s it’s big guys in that room already. I just want to see if Louis foul um Kaylin Carson Marshon that whole draft class really Overon is already hu have y’all seen over I guess that’s his advantage cuz he ain’t really running around he just kind of like lifting you know what I mean well he’s been he’s you know running around now but you know you know when you’re recovering ACL you can’t run like everybody else run you’ll run later but you can’t cut and all that just been lifting and getting big you know what I’m saying and he’s swole as hell I just kind of want everybody else to be on that offseason peanut butter type plan. All right. I will talk about Tyler Gayton, but I talked about him on the uh offensive segment so y’all can go um tap in with that and see what the business is. I think Breman 4 is another guy, but those are offensive guys. We ain’t really talking about those guys. But as as as far as defensive dudes on Peanut Butter Watch, it’ll be really good to see those guys get a little bigger um and, you know, kind of fill into their man body and their, you know, NFL body, so to speak. You know, but that’s where we at with that. Though, something I think is uh going to be interesting about this past rush conversation is I don’t I think we all walk in with a preconceived order. Maybe I think most of us and look, I’m not including Michael Parsons, right? Because he’s the the one guy. He’s the the superstar. He’s going to be here. I’m really curious. I know a lot of you if I told you guys to rank Donovan, Sam, Dante Fowler, Marshon Nean as pass rushers, right? I would imagine, and y’all can put in the comments, I would imagine most of you guys would rank those guys as Dante Fowler first because he’s a double digit sack guy in the league. I’m quite positive Donovan should be your second guy. He should be no lower than third. Sam should be your third guy, but he should be no higher than second. If anything, people are switch they’ll switch Sam and Donovan because Donovan hadn’t hadn’t played a game yet. But in real life, Donovan should be a better pass rusher than than Sam. But I can understand it. Dante should be number one. There should be two or three at spot two or three. Donovan or Donovan Donovan Azaraku or Sam Williams. At the fourth spot, Marshon Neland should be your fourth P your fourth idea of which of those guys will would be the best pass rush because Marshawn Nean like a rundown guy and he was very raw and he had to develop his pass skills, right? I would really like it if Marshon Neland developed his pass skills. I want those other guys to develop their run stopping. I want Marawn to develop his pass rushing skills. Right. With that being said, with those four guys, would it be shocking? Would it be a surprise if the order going into regular season game one is different than your order that you have now? Right. My order is Dante, Donovan, Sam, Marshon. I wonder if going into this, and this is what we’re looking at in training camp, right? What if Donovan Ezaraku is like that and he ends up number one out of this list of four, Sam Williams could have a resurgence? Like, he’s he’s really just been waiting on an opportunity and a chance to heal his knee. He’s healed up. He gets an opportunity to be a pass rusher. What if Sam Williams is the the number one guy on this list of four? What if Marshon Neland develops in the way that he takes a year two jump? We all knew that Marshon Neland was big and strong as hell. Very explosive for his size. He just didn’t know how to pass rush necessarily. What if Marawn Neland rolled out the bed and just it clicked and he knew how to pass rush or he’s been working with a pass rush specialist and he developed his his his pass rush skills. So now he’s going into year two with some brand new P. Like what if Marshon Neland’s the second best pass rusher on this team after Michael Parsons. That’s really what I’m gonna be looking for. So when I’m looking at these offensive versus defensive pass rush segments or we’re looking at these competition periods, shotty shotti is preaching competition. So I imagine when we get to Oxner, it’s Oxnard, but Jerry Jones calls it Oxner. I imagine when we get when we get to Oxnard, there may be some some competition periods that we can look at and judge something from. I just want to keep eyes on Donovan Donovan Ezrau, Sam Williams, Dante Fowler, and uh Marshon Neland. Maybe not to a to a point to where I’m tracking every pass rush pass rush snap that they do, but I at least want to keep an eye on those guys to just track the progress. Do those guys move up and down my list or anything like that? I might even power rank them as pass rushers, right? I might even power rank them. just have a list and I just rank those guys every two practices or so. Just move guys up and down that list of who’s having better pass rush days or whatever. I might do that. I got OSA taking the next step written down, but I feel like everybody feels that way. I feel like you don’t need me to uh come out and tell you that or explain that to you or why it’s important for OSA to take the next step. I just OSA got his money now. All right. I just really want Osa to come out and just be the like for example um what’s my man in um Baltimore that just got paid the defensive tackle Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Justin Mabik thank you Google Justin got paid Ladies and gentlemen, uh he he just he just recently got paid. Justin Mu. Justin Mu just got paid. He’s 27 years old. He’s been in the league for a little bit now. Well, pardon me. His his name is Nami Nambdi Mabou because everybody changed their damn name after you draft him. he was um drafted in in you know 2020 or whatever, right? But the thing about these guys is like they develop over time. You know what I’m saying? Like like they just get better over the years. So Justin Mule in the year 2020 he had one sack. 2021 two sacks. 2022 he had 5.5 sacks. And in 2023, the year before he got paid, he had like 13, like just 13 in in in year four. 13 sacks after just having one, two, 5.5. And he then he just roll out the bed with 13. The same kind of run defender that he was at first. He didn’t change that much as a run defender or like a stuff guy. He was a much better run defender this year than he was last year. But that year where he really broke out and got 13 sacks. Last year he got 6.5. But that’s after we found out you the man and we doubling you now. 13 sacks boy after just sitting back developing. Took some years to get there. We didn’t really see this in you but you’re here now. I would be thrilled if Osa Odigiza woke up this morning, rolled out the bed, and got double digit sacks this year. If it just clicked for OSA, and he got double digit sacks this year, where do you keep the bail money to get me out of jail? That’s what I mean when I want OSA to step up. We look at Osa and we as Cowboy fans, we may overrate him a little bit. I don’t know. That’s just me putting the Kool-Aid down for a second. May maybe we overrate OSA a little bit, but I’m like, “Hey man, like dog, we we keep calling Osa one of the better defensive tackles in the league. He keeps ranking highly as a as a pressure guy, but I’m looking for OSA to like take over and tear it up. You know what I’m saying? 13 sacks on Mik is stupid. I’d love to have it. We having a party. But that is what that is. I’m looking for OSA to take that next step and and to become one of the dominant pass rushers on this team. You know how we look at wide receiver and be like, “Hey man, wide receiver three cool, but Jake Ferguson going to be the third target.” That’s how I want us to look at OSA on defense, right? Like, hey man, pass rushers, you talking about your edge guys, is fine, but OSA is gonna be your third best pass rusher. I would love it if OSA is your second or your third best pass rusher. That’ll do wonders for your defense, especially in this flu system. Man, I tell you what, man. I think it’s going to come down to uh Savon Revel and and uh Kaylin Carson. Savon Ra being a rookie and coming off an injury, he may be put behind the eightball, but he got sponsors and I think he’s the better prospect coming out. Um Kaylin was drafted much later, but um Savon Rall would have been a a first round pick had he not been he may have been the first coin off the board had he not been hurt. Um I think Elim’s going to be fine. I think Bland’s going to be there and I think everybody else knee hurt. Rebel knee hurt too, but I think he’ll be available for a training camp. I think he should be on track to be ready for a training camp. I think the I think cornerback three, assuming that we don’t go out and get anybody that you know Gilmore is on the phone on the bat phone waiting for in case of emergency I think is going to come down to Savon Rell and Caitlin Carson. And I think whoever wins that battle is going to be um the outside corner that you know Bland’s going to play on the inside of course because who else going to going to play nickel for you? I think one of those guys are going to be your your field or your or your boundary corner. That’s just how if your outside corner that’s how I feel. Um, and it just depends on if if Revel’s healthy or not. If if Revel’s not healthy, um, it’ll go to Caitlin Carson or or we’re we’re in case of emergency and maybe Kaitlin doesn’t look good, we got to call Gilly or something like that. But, um, in terms of training camp things that I’m watching for, not only am I watching Kaylin Carson and Savon Revel, but I’m watching what wide receivers they go against and what wins they get versus those receivers. If they getting whooped by CD and George, I expect them to get whooped by CD and George. But if we talking about those guys starting, I want those dudes to beat the hell out of Tolbert, out of Mingo, you know what I’m saying? Or at least be feisty and competitive with those guys. I want you I want you dealing with them guys. You know what I mean? But that’s just that. Hey man, ladies and gentlemen, appreciate y’all. You know what I’m saying? Tap into the Bleach Report and um you know what I mean? They Bleach Report going to take a little take they going to take a little break uh while we’re doing camp stuff. Uh there will be no Bleach Report lives. We’re going to figure this thing out uh when we come back. I love y’all to pieces. You know what I’m saying? You already know. Y’all be sure to follow. I’m trying to get to 100. Love you pieces. Um and yeah, I’ll catch y’all next time. Y’all hold it down until then. All right. side.

Defense is a real concern. Lack of depth at 1 tech. I can see the offense go off, but the defense giving up big run yards.
Voch, I've been watching for a few years now…. is that Pollard Jersey behind you, yours? Is that why you keep saying Tony Pollard was your cousin
Man y'all for realies…our defense is so doggone suspect at multiple positions I don't know what to think. So many what ifs at DT, LB, CB. And that is just defense.
Jack Sanborn is a JAG the cowboys signed him for 1 yr 125k that’s barely a NFL contract he is not a starting caliber player he is terrible in coverage he has been gettin beat by every Tightend oni the roster he has no pop at point of attack and he had a grand total of 36 tackles last yr in Chicago con on Voc you know he a JAG
Where did you get 125k? He got a 1yr deal for 1.5mil. 150k signing bonus.
Yep that peanut butter I remember 😂
I am drinking the Kool aid and carrying water for Cowboys, Broaddus, Voch, Sky, Jeff and Jesse Holley💪💯🔥 Wish I could afford to meet up with y'all in Oxnard!
Voch provideth the content , I provideth a comment for the algorithm, thanks bro
Oh I did have an idea , I wanna know who should we be watching for to take a step back… we never plan for people to be worse . What if guyton takes a step back , what if Steele does , what if booker just can’t play
Voch, I started following the WNBA's Indiana Fever the last two years. Yes, it's because of Caitlyn Clark. I wish the WNBA or the Indiana Fever had someone like you to create content for the fans. But I'll be honest, what I've seen so far from this league, they have a long, long way to go to be as cohesive of a league as the NBA or the NFL. Anyway, that's along way to say that Cowboy fans need to appreciate you and all this amazing content. It truly is a gift.
Fingers crossed that Cooper beebe eats so much “off season peanut butter” that he comes back with NO NECK
WHAT ABOUT TYRIS WHEAT D.E
The LB talk is really confusing. I thought the weak side backer was the athlete and the Sam was the run stopper.
When the video don’t start with “…And…” I’m a lil disappointed ngl
Voch we all know they eating peanut butter… When you get to the NFL you’re allowed to eat …
We are stacked at DE and I like our LBs… and if our CBs come back off injury quickly we strong 💪 on D … only major issue is DT= 1 Tech
Rotation , Rotation , Rotation is all that should matter as far as the LB’s go
In collage they have to juggle between football and classes, once U make it to the NFL it’s your job to improve your body
Jack Sanborn is 24 and Kenneth Murray is 26
Liufau isn’t a bad player, I don’t understand the negative connotations and speculation of him and moving off him. He will be fine. He may not have been on many draft boards when we got him, but he’s a smart linebacker and will get better with reps. Worth keeping anyway- idk why he doesn’t get any respect. He’s not terrible. They talking about him like he a Mazi smith.
Sandborn and Murray not it for me at LB period .
