Mets vs. Royals Game Highlights (7/11/25) | MLB Highlights
The rain delay wait is over and the long wait for Kodi Sanga to return is over. He makes his first start in nearly one month after exiting with a hamstring injury against Washington. A big exhale from Mets nation cuz they need it. Uh looking at what the pitching has been going through since Sangal went down with the bad hamstring. It’s been really a tough go. Michael Walk is on the mound for the Royals. He’s poised for his 19th start of the season. He has taken the ball every fifth or sixth day this season. a 383 ERA but trying to write the ship HUD after a couple of starts that have not been his best where the command’s been a little bit shaky. That’s rolled to Pasquantino. He takes care of it. One up, one down for Waka. There’s Francisco Lindor batting left on a fivegame hitting streak. And Waka gets a little number. Two outs. That was a strike. He hung around there a little bit, but that is ball four. The Mets have their first base runner of the night. Bonsoto has drawn at least one walk in 55 games. And now Alonzo launches one out into deep right field and to the warning track is Royals right fielder Kaggleó to make the play and end the inning. You know before Singa hurt his hamstring. His last seven starts the Mets were six and one. Can’t talk about Single without the ghost fork. They’re 11 for 100 versus that pitch. So India placing that ground ball perfectly and I say the best that Ring door could do is just knock it down. Even if he feels it cleanly, he has no play at first. Bobby went Jr. Whit hitting 295 and Whit smacks it toward the left field corner. MO can’t cut it off. It’s up against the fence. India heads to third and Vance Wilson holds him there. It’s another double for Bobby Whit Jr. He extends his major league lead 32 doubles and now make it a 14game hitting streak. Two fast balls have been put in play. A single and double by India and Whit Jr. respectively and Kansas City’s in business. So two on now for Vinnie Pascantino since May 1st hitting well over 300. The 2-2 and he gets him swinging with that Ghost for he finds the range. Big strike out by Sanga and there’s one down. That’s his 48th strikeout this year on that pitch alone. And here is the newly named Allstar for Kansas City, Mael Garcia. Garcia right back to Sango who nabs it out of the air, tries to go for two. It gets past Mauricio, but India is hurt and he is staying on the bag. Otherwise, he would have scored. So, a great reaction catch by Sanga, but now the worry is about Jonathan India. Yeah, he’s That’s a cleat right to the wrist. Well, the good news for the Royals is that India is staying in the game. And the good news for the Mets is that India didn’t score. Meanwhile, Salvador Perez coming to the plate. Second and third, two out, no score. Got him swinging. Huge strike out on the fork ball and his side is retired. Michael Waka strikes out the side in the second. 1 2 3 go. The Mets were done with an inning and a half at Coffman Stadium. No score. Mets and Royals. Backto back two out walks set the table for the top of the order. So here’s Jonathan India, a righty. First pitch hit hard toward third. Backhand pick by Mauricio. He straightens. The high throw is there to Alonzo in time for the out. What a grab by Mauricio on a low line drive bullet off of Jonathan India’s bat. What a play by Mauricio. That was a bullet on one hop off the bat of India. Terren batting at just 209. Waka’s next toss line toward short. Base hit going into left center field. Brave over to cut it off in the gap. Terren’s looking for two, but puts on the brakes and scampers back to first. Taylor in game one of the double header against Baltimore came through with a big opposite field RBI double. He lays down a bunt. Garcia bare hands. Great play. Oh my. That’s an allstar play without a doubt. Man, oh man. I told you earlier when we were when we were bragging on him that he comes in on balls as good as anyone I’ve seen over there at third base. Nemo takes high ball four. Two on, one out. Francisco Lindor coming up and that one is smacked into left field. That’s a base hit. They hold Toren’s up at third as John Rae gets there quickly and the Mets have the bases loaded off the base hit from Francisco Lindor. So the base is loaded and that’ll bring up Juan Sodto as hot a hitter as exists in Major League Baseball, but he has struggled in these spots this season. Just 14 for 79 with runners in scoring position. Got him swinging in the change up. Well, there’s a very big out number two for Walking on Bases remain loaded. And Pete Alonzo coming up. 3-2 pitch downstairs. Ball four. He’s walked in a run. The Mets take the lead. Torren comes in to score. One- nothing Mets. Their DH tonight. Right-handed hitting Mark Ventos. Ventos struck out his first time out. Waka delivers and a swing and a foul tip strikeout. He got him. Waka. A very tough inning, but he limits the damage to one. Runners at the corners now with two away. Jack Kagleon coming up. And can Sanga get out of another jam here? The one-two check swing breaking ball. He went around on appeal to third and he turns away in disgust. And once again, Kodai Sanga dances out of trouble. Nick Loftton leads off right hitting second baseman. See how far Carlos Mendoza pushes Kodi Sega here. That’s a strike out on the slider for the first out. You know, when you look at a grip, it presents itself as a strike. When it tumbles out of the hand, it’s in the strike zone, but it never makes it there because of the great downward movement. And now two away. Here’s Isbel. Another lefty batting ninth. Cued toward third along the line. Mauricio on the backhand has it. Turns, fires, and Alonzo coming off the bag. Puts the tag on the runner going by. Beautiful job by Mauricio on a Q shot. One, two, three inning for Kodi Sanga and his defense. Five strikeouts so far tonight for Michael Walkas. He had a much needed quick inning in the fourth. Only threw 11 pitches. Two up, two down the lane door. Highf fly ball left center over against Isbel to make the play. And that is a very quick and efficient inning number five for Michael Waka. Kotai Sanga though done after four innings. And that’s kind of by design. Nothing wrong with Sanga who did throw a lot of pitches. 67 of them over four. It is righty Alex Curo in his second major league outing. Reached for looped in the air to left field. NMO over toward the line makes the catch and Alex Curo nice job as a one two three fifth inning. Michael Walk is done after five innings tonight. Five innings of one-run ball and Anhel Serpa enters 2-2 swing full miss strike three. Sodto’s back to the dugout now against Vientos. Slider pulled to third. Garcia up with it. The all-star will fire across to Vinnie and a one two three inning. Nobody on one out. Bottom of the sixth. One- nothing Mets. Salvi muscles it to left. That’s a base hit and Salvi’s two for three tonight. That’s the Royals first hit since the third inning out here in Kansas City. One- nothing Mets in the sixth. Loftton, a righty second baseman, is 0 for two. Sitting there. Poked into left. Demo diving. Salvi gets on his horse. Wilson waves him home. All the way home. Tie game. If NMO had to make the decision over again with Perez at first base, he would have played that into a single and gave his pitcher with two outs a chance to get out of it. 12.58 seconds of Fury first to home. So India with a one out base hit brings up Bobby Wit Jr. and Whit smacks it deep left center field and gives the Royals the lead. A two-run blast and this place explodes. Man, that ball was tattered and battered. Bobby’s fired up coming around the bases and this crowd is fired up. The single and backto back walks. Bases juice, nobody out. Here comes Alonzo. So, how’s this for symmetry? The last time Carlos Estz faced the Mets was October 9th. Came on with the bases loaded in game four of the NLDS. First batter faced, Francisco Lindor. Grand slam and as Steri swing, Alonzo breaks his bat over his knee. You have to be able to get that knee up coming up hard and coming down with the bat in order to make that happen. Mark Ventos now 0 for three, two strikeouts. And he is really searching right now. This is a big at bat that can help him find the light. Bases loaded, one out. Vientos into the right center field. G. That’s down. That’ll be extra bases and that’ll tie the game and maybe more being waved around third is Sodto. Here comes the relay. The throw not in time. Sodto with the go-ahead run and the Mets take a four to three lead off a bases clearing double from Mark Ventos. Two on, nobody out. Lindor is up. It’s up by a run in the ninth. Looking for insurance. Swinging a high fly right center field. Tolbert on the run to the track nearing the wall. He jumps and it is. It’s gone. It got over the fence. It’s a threerun home run by Lindor. It hit the top of the padded wall, suspended in air, and stayed out right onto the fountain deck. Seven to3 Mets in the ninth. And the Mets have scored six unanswered runs. Folks are heading for the exits. Sodto drives the ball left center field. This one hit well. Tolbert out to the track. Sprinting to the wall. Gone. Sodto goes back to back with Lindor out to left center field. And the Mets having a field day here in the eighth and ninth innings. It’s 83. And the Mets are one out away. Seems like two days ago since Wit hit that two-run home run to put him ahead. Right. And right back to Densky who takes his time and ends the ball game. The Mets come from behind for the sixth time this season that they win a game.

Big big win, hopefully something to build on after the break
Its a marathon not a sprint folks. Great to see Senga back, and delighted for Vientos to break out. KC are a good team and that's a great victory
If only we did this against the Royals bullpen in 2015
Bases loaded is our kryptonite
Shoulda heard the Mets fan yelling at Vientos to swing the bat and then he ropes that double, good for him
who the hell thought it was a good idea to have the crypt keeper calling the plays?
What a way to go Mets ❤😊. Let's go 🙏
Mauricio and Vientos – this is an evening #LGM
Wacha continuing the trend of former Mets torturing the team; I dunno if Lugo pitches either of the next two games but I’d wager a one hit shutout if so.
Great game!
another spoiler alert thumbnail — fools
VIENTOS!! Let’s goooo! Bro needed that 3 RBI double. i’m so happy for him, gotta build his confidence up and swing at good pitches like he just did.
gelbs is bruuuutal
LFGM!!!
Wow that KC broadcast booth is awful. GKR really spoil us. lol
Well it took 10 years but we finally won one in Kaufmann! LFGM!!💙🧡⚾️
LFGM ‼️💙🧡💙🧡🔥
I do get Alonso's Frustration on that Out, One of the Biggest Weaknesses the Mets have currently is the inability to secure the RISP. Sure they can set them up for Days but more often than not end up Retiring before they Capitalise on that. 🫤
so happy to see senga back and mark hitting the baseball. hopefully this can get him going.
Where was this during the ghastly double-header spectacle yesterday?
Woefully inconsistent.
Fan catch on the soto bomb was very nonchalant
Allez les Mets ! 💙🧡
Gen of a Game Mets. Excellent.
Mets got him again lol we haunting his dreams 🤣
🙏🙏
We all missed this Vientos hitting like its 2024!
Vatory Mets ❤
Tough with no gary or howie but a win is what matters. And what the hell is the royals announcers doing sounding like a barnyard animal????
Way to preserver mark Vientos… proud of you bud!
The Metropolitans have a GhostFork 🫡 Deuces Brooklyn ZOO (Actual Factual GhostData) ✌️ Real life research for C.O.D. Sniper King
I love you Juan Soto #22 … Let's Go New York Mets Baseball 💙🧡🇺🇲✝️⚾
@NewYorkMets, why do you make us listen to the other teams' announcers? No NY fan wants to hear the opposing teams' announcers!!!
Trying not to be prisoner of the moment because it's only a small sample size but Mauricio looks really good at 3rd base
Great come from behind win. Had to lol at the announcer breaking down Alonso's bat breaking technique
we need vientos to get going….I think Mauricio better defense
Great comeback! Let's go Mets!!!!!!
Soto batea con las bases vacías solamente.
Steve Gelbs has really improved in the booth
Ayer si eh
Ayer si eh
Man that sky was sick in the first few innings
Never say die mets. That's what I like to see. Great work guys.
2015 world series rematch
I think the Only Dilemma with the Mets is Who plays 3rd base? Vientos , Mauricio, Baty ? We don't have a true established starter in that position yet…vientos Hit better Last year in the playoffs but Maurico def a better defense player , not much on Offense. I also think if Torrens would hit better he would be a better catcher everyday as Alvarez just strikes out way too much for me i'm not sure he's going to be that guy to start. So we still have a few question marks on the team hopefully we can get another nice win streak going back into first
I'ma keep saying it Lindor is the best thing to happen to the Mets.
