Hard to disagree with him. Hopefully he'll get to prove that he's a first option material and that they do not need Jayson to be contenders next year.

Jaylen speaking with former Celtic Kyrie Irving: "I feel like people haven’t seen me at my best because we have a loaded roster.”

  1. I mean for sure he can average 27 and make one of the all nba teams while leading the team to 35 wins.

  2. Imagine he comes out and has a LeBron season and drags a G-League squad to the ECF

  3. That’s not a hot take. Every second option in the NBA probably feels the same way. Luckily he has the chance to show us next season if he really has another gear he can get into or if he’s just talking.

  4. Statistically he hasn’t sacrificed since Jrue and Porzingis arrived, Idk why he keeps saying he’s sacrificing

  5. Are you guys all dumb? Like I feel like ripping my hair out reading the responses from Celtics “fans” to this

He’s literally not throwing shade at anyone or even saying anything out of line, he’s actually complementing our team because he’s *not* able to play at the level he’s probably capable of because of how good his team has been around him for this entire window of contention. Notice how he’s not saying “I WANT to play at the level I’m capable of playing but my team holds me back”?

All he’s saying is because our team has been so good he has to fit in in order for this thing to work and to play as a team, but if he was tasked with more of an offensive burden in a different situation he is capable of doing a lot more

If your takeaway from that is anything that makes you think less of Jaylen brown you’re genuinely brain dead

  6. Not a hot take.

Show us what you got this year, JB. You have been considered!

  7. Jaylen about to get a reality check when the defenses main focus is on him. We’ve seen him collapse before when this has happened.

  8. I think JB is at his best when he’s playing unselfish, team-oriented, winning basketball. But I also believe he can go out as the best dude on the floor and rack up 30 points and 9 TOs per game on a 39 win team and make second team All NBA if that’s what he wants to do…

  9. I been saying people being very down about this season, just relax ans trust Brad … we still have White and Brown who are All Stars , Pritchard and the guys from last season the “stay ready group” … who knows guys like Queta or Hauser do a jump next season? Who knows? Lets wait for Tatum and create a cool base

  10. Dude you’re 28 years old and you still dribble the ball off your leg twice a game

  11. Well lucky for him he’s going to be the first option next year. But players on shitty teams also complain for the exact opposite reason, when there’s only 1 or 2 real options on a team the defense only has to worry about you.

  12. Hot take: I have forgive kyrie Irving.

Seeing him still be close w/ the guys has washed over the “kyrie years” hatred for me

  13. You know I don’t really see this as a problem, the thing with me is that I don’t really think Jt and jb are a 1A and 1B but instead a 1 and 2 mainly because there’s still issues with the non Tatum minutes and I don’t think that should be the case when you’re a 1B

  14. Jaylen is now getting the other team’s best defender and will face double teams and he can’t dribble with his left hand well. Hopeful but skeptical at the same time!

  15. Completely logical take. Unfortunately, this clip is going to be referenced mercilessly if he plays like he did last year while being the number one option.

  16. If there’s anything this fanbase loves doing is hating on JB…. What more does JB have to do for Celtics fans to quit pissing and moaning about him.

  17. JB was here first. If he showed us more than Tatum over their tenures he def would be talked about as the #1 option

  18. Why would he say this? He like setting himself up for failure. He could just set 0 expectations but now he has to go out put higher numbers

  19. I get what he’s saying. Having a loaded roster also means giving up personal stats for the bigger picture. D-Wade and Bosh had to reduce their numbers for LeBron to be LeBron in MIA. I prefer having a loaded roster than Rondo years again where he’s piling up stats and we go nowhere.

  20. I feel like you guys just love to shit on Jaylen Brown for a reason I am still trying to figure out. The man literally does so much for the city of Boston even MORE than Tatum who is the golden boy with all of you. The dude outplayed Tatum in the finals and still people doubt this man. I just don’t fucking get it lmao. I feel like you guys would rather Pritchard or White lead the team over Brown which is insane. This is why we’re talked about so badly by players and the media because the fans in this city are unbearable

  21. I literally don’t care what he does all year, just don’t average 6 turnovers a game
