Chicago Bears PLAN TO TAKE THE NFC NORTH || Front Office STABILITY
And the last thing, the most important piece is we’re going to take the North and never give it back. The Chicago Bears finally have stability in their front office. Today, I want to talk about the Bears plans to take the NFC North and never give it back. After extending Ryan Poles and putting him on the same timeline as Ben Johnson, there is clear unity among the Bears front office. There is no division among the Bears front office and there aren’t any signs of a power struggle. Ben Johnson and Ryan Poles are locked at the hips, side by side for the next five plus years. I think having stability in our front office is very important. We don’t want to be going into year two of Ben Johnson’s contract with Ryan Poles in the final year of his deal. But fans and media alike are asking the question, did the Bears extend Ryan Poles too early? Listen, one point is being largely overlooked here. Too many people are talking about the Bears extending a general manager who has a 15 and 36 record. But Polls was literally hired to rebuild this franchise from the ground up and to take the NFC North and never give it back, not take it for one year and be a mediocre team that can win eight or nine games every other season. His record is not impressive, but the moves he’s made are beneficial to long-term sustained success in the NFL. Despite that, there are fans and a large contingent of the local media that are not in favor of Ryan Poles getting extended. I understand that some people are going to be against this move. I’ve already gotten so many comments about how you don’t extend a GM with a losing record or how Poles hasn’t done anything yet. There are even fans saying he has as many hits as he does misses. And to those people, I question their ability to count. And fans forget how awful of a position this franchise was in just a few years ago. We’re still a team that’s never had a 4,000yard passer. When Poles took the job in 2022, he inherited an old, overpaid, and overrated roster. He had no first round pick in 2022 cuz the previous GM had traded it away. In fact, he only had one first round pick on the entire roster, no homegrown talent, and half the roster hitting free agency. On top of that, the salary cap was an absolute mess. The future of this franchise was in a terrible place and was one of the hardest times in my life to be a fan of the Chicago Bears. When Ryan Poles was hired, the Bears were an absolute mess. a bad roster, a bad culture in the locker room, bad draft picks, and salary cap management by the front office. Now, just three years later, and this franchise is buzzing with excitement. We’ve been the talk of the NFL for three straight off seasons, and Ryan Poles might have finally found us the franchise quarterback that I’ve been waiting for my entire life. He’s also added talent around the quarterback and he has a lot more hits than he does misses. But he’s also given this team flexibility going forward while also fixing our salary cap issues. Currently, we do not have a single player on this roster with void years on their deal. And Ryan Poles has not had to rework a single contract in the last 3 years. He’s completed a real organizational rebuild from top to bottom. Yes, there were some misses along the way. Every GM in the NFL has misses. Even the team that won the Super Bowl has missed on first round picks in the last few years, but Ryan Poles missed on Chase Clayool, Nate Davis, and Vis Jones Jr. among others. But potentially his biggest miss might have been hiring Matt Eberloose. But anyone who believes Flouse was Po’s guy all along probably wasn’t paying attention. Iber Floose was already a coaching finalist before Poles even interviewed for the job. This year, Poles finally got his guy, hiring head coach Ben Johnson, and the rebuild is finally complete. So, let’s go through the phases of the Ryan Po’s era in Chicago. In 2022, the off season was titled the tearown. Paul’s job was getting rid of the overpaid and overaging talent while also clearing cap space. It resulted in over $90 million in dead cap space, trading away Khil Mack, Rocoan Smith, and Robert Quinn while also letting a lot of overpaid veterans walk. It signaled a true rebuild that hadn’t been seen in ages by the Chicago Bears. A lot of people will joke that this team is always rebuilding, but not once in my entire lifetime had this team rebuilt the roster the right way. They were usually a team that would retool over rebuilding. But in 2022, after hiring Ryan Poles, that finally changed and phase two was the 2023 off season, which began by pulling off one of the best trades in Bears history, fleecing the Carolina Panthers and single-handedly fasttracking this rebuild. I’ve talked a lot about that trade, but without pulling off that move, we would still be rebuilding right now and maybe into 2026 as well. That trade put this franchise on the fast track to turn things around. He invested in the trenches during that draft by taking Darnell Wright and Javon Dexter and also increased the overall talent level on this roster by making trades for Montes Sweat and DJ Moore, giving us Pro Bowl talents on offense and defense. But it was in 2024 when Ryan Poles really proved himself as general manager and really took this rebuild to the next level. Trading away Justin Fields and drafting Caleb Williams number one overall to be the franchise quarterback we’ve been waiting our entire lives for. He paired Caleb with ultra talented wide receiver prospect Rome Dunay allowing them an opportunity to build chemistry and grow together over the next five plus years. He also played it smart in free agency, not overpaying any of the bigname busts and finding values in guys like Coleman Shelton, DeAndre Swift, and Kevin Bard. 2024 also marked the end of the Matt Eberloose era as Polls took it upon himself to fire a head coach midseason for the first time in franchise history. But then in 2025, this is when Ryan Poles put it all together and accomplished two more significant tasks to finish off this rebuild. One was finally finishing this offensive line. Ryan Ples completely rebuilt this entire front five. Not one single player on our O line was here when Ryan Ples took the job. only two players on the entire roster overall. But he added Joe Tuni, Drew Dolman, and Jonah Jackson in one off season. But he didn’t stop there. He also drafted potential left tackle Azie Trapillo and another center option in Luke Newman. This offensive line on paper is as talented as any I remember in any time in the last 20 years. But maybe even more important was finding the right head coach to finish the rebuild. Someone who could complete Ryan Paul’s work as general manager. A coach who can get the most out of all the young talent that Ryan Poles has acquired while also fixing the culture and turning this team into a winner on the football field. Bonus points if you can get an offensive guru who can also develop Caleb Williams. And by hiring Ben Johnson, it was one of the most important moves in franchise history. So, three straight off seasons, Ryan Poles has pulled off some of the biggest moves in this team’s history. The Panthers trade, drafting Caleb Williams, and hiring Ben Johnson. The rebuild is now over, and 2025 is about winning football games in Chicago. off seasonasons will now be about retooling and making supplemental moves to help the Bears win football games because that is what it’s all about, winning football games. And that was not the focus during the first few years. It was about rebuilding the entire roster. And that led to the Bears being 15 and 36 with Ryan Poles as a general manager. And we know moving forward that winning games is how you keep your job in the NFL. But I’m tired of fans not realizing how much better of a position this team is in right now than it was four years ago. We were at the bottom of the basement in the NFL in terms of franchises. We were an absolute joke. We had no homegrown talent, a bad salary cap, and a future that looked so bleak. In just a few years, Ryan Poles has turned things around completely. He’s done it the hard way and suffered through a lot of losses, but honestly, some of those losses were a blessing in disguise. It gave us better draft picks, allowed us to land Romo Dunay and Coloulston Lovelin to pair with Caleb Williams. It also allowed us to fire Matt Eberloose and hire Ben Johnson. Imagine if we won a couple more games last year and suddenly people would be talking about keeping Eberloose. Sometimes things really do happen for a reason. But the Bears front office made a smart decision by extending Ryan Poles. Having stability with our head coach and our general manager is so important in today’s NFL. And I’m glad the people making the decisions up top for the Bears understand what a lot of fans and media seem to be missing. That Ryan Ples has set this team up to have a lot of success in the future. The 2025 Chicago Bears are built to win and they’re built to win for a long time. Remember, Ryan Poles wants to take the North and never give it back. He didn’t want to win it one year and then give it back the next year. When we finally start winning, it shouldn’t just be a flash in the pan. We should finally have a team that is capable of sustained success in the NFL. And that’s what Ryan Ples has talked about since the moment he was hired, taking the North and never giving it back. not just making the playoffs one time and then going home as a loser. And that’s what I believe we finally have in Chicago, a roster that is capable of sustained success, a playoff caliber roster with flexibility and a bright future. On top of that, we now have a front office with stability. This is how championship teams are built in the NFL. On top of that, I believe Ryan Ples fully understands how to build a complete roster. He understands not to overspend in free agency. He understands the strengths in the draft classes and in the off season. He understands what it takes to build a winner in the NFL. And now I believe we have a head coach who can get those results on the field. And things are finally different in Chicago. The rebuild is over. We have stability in the front office and it’s time to start winning football games. Let me know from 1 to 10 what your excitement level is for the future of this franchise. And if you’re not as excited as me, let me know in the comments why. I appreciate everyone who watches. Please remember to hit that like button for me. Stay tuned. And until next time, bear down. Down. Down. [Music]

Yeah Buddy! Thanks Swift. Go Bears & BEAR DOWN!
FGB/BEAR DOWN
If the Bears roster can stay healthy, we have a tough football Team this year. My excitement levels on '8' going into the season.
I think it's insane to continue to explain the reasons and why the record is the way it is and we were a team in the midst of a rebuild they want to keep playing at the record of a team that's going through or was going through a rebuild and then lying and saying that he has just as many misses in the draft as he do hits is dishonest and it is really hot in the real reason why they want this man fired I've been to Chicago bears fan for 43 years I have seen every major sports in this city win a championship in the last week I'm going to rip the Band-Aid off and tell the truth on why they have a problem and they want this man to be fired dang never going to shut up cuz we steady going out here validating insensible arguments that they're using to say this man needs to be fired instead of making them tell the truth I want him fired after his first draft when Kevin Warren didn't come out and say he was putting shovels in the dirt a year and a half ago they wanted this man fire 2 so unless we don't speak about the elephant in the room so they can start with the ridiculous takes and he needs to be fired I don't think there's a reason even bring it uphow do we go through so much BS and crap and more than the future with Ryan pace and it took people almost 8 years to say this man needed to be fired to the current general manager one draft and he needed to be fired
Of course he kept Matt because he wanted Ben Johnson and he knew Ben Johnson wasn't going to ready to be a coach in to this year that was smart people can keep overlooking that fact but I'm not
Everybody misses and no gm is perfect but this dude avoided building the trenches and the defense front still has questions marks
I don't think taking another reciever over a pass rusher was the right move
First time in a long time both GM and Coach are aligned and that can hopefully be a positive!! Bear the Hell Down 👇
Poles has put this team together, he owns it. Let's hope that the Bears on the field do their part living up to the hype. The NFL talking heads still rate the Bears as the 4th best team in the division. It's time to show those so-called experts that they don't know crap. This is the most assembled talent on a Bears team in 40 years. It's now time to put that talent to the test. Make me shiver, show the experts they are chopped liver. And add green bay to that pile of spoiled stinky liver. It's our time to shine. Excited ya think, hell yes. Now show us something special were ready. Bear down.
To be honest with you Swift. I don’t Poles had a say into hiring Flus. I think him hiring Johnson was his actual pick at his head coach.
To build things right you gotta break things down to the core. Bears were a mess under Pace. Flus was out of his depth as a HC. Bears are now poised to be dangerous team for foreseeable future. Excitement level is 9
6:47–7:02 and that’s the part right there that everybody is missing when they want to clown on this move. Most from outside the organization, all three rival fan bases, among other teams that we don’t even mess with a lot to be honest. That kinda just shows me how everybody is uneducated on this, and if the potential meets the actual performance on the field. Those same people will be eaten their words.
BearDown Swifty and thanks for always setting us fans straight on what’s happening and keeping it real. Have a great weekend
Poles has done a really nice job. He waited on the lines until he had the money to bring in top end guys. As a former center I'm excited about BOTH lines. I don't think some fans realize that both Dexter and Turner can play DE
Let’s fucking Go!
I agree completely with you and Ryan. He has done a fabulous job of building a future for the Chicago Bears. I'd say 9 for my excitement for this team and 10 to see Caleb shine! Great job Swifty
10
I'm glad he was extended
I believe in Ryan
I am totally in agreement! Finally I feel the Bears have the leadership and good people in place. It will be fun to watch them going forward.
You are literally the only one I’ve heard that has taken a wholistic approach to this Poles discussion. Not only did Poles have to fix the cap situation, he had to tear down the roster and most importantly change the culture in the front office. If you want to compare it to buying a house this wasn’t a house where all you needed to do was add a few window coverings, some fresh paint and clean the carpets. This was a house that needed to be stripped down to the studs and rewired.
I’m not going to say that Poles has done a perfect job but rebuilding everything that needed to be fixed wasn’t going to happen overnight nor was it going to be easy.
Poles is good for the bears 🐻 had to balance the books rebuild took a year longer than wanted it to but it’s time poles is getting better an new coaching staff Johnson Allen things are better than ever bear down would have took Jayden Daniels an draft picks if it was me so I’m a bears fan wild card or disappointed
We have stability on this team for the first time in 35 years, are GM is definitely playing chest while others are playing checkers.
To the local Bears fans I say start paying attention to what it takes to turn a dysfunctional franchise into a competitor from every facet. Why you'd think the Lions after hiring Dan Campbell as HC just magically were great the first year. Get real folks, this tear down followed by slowly finding the pieces leaving no stone unturned in the draft, undrafted rookies or free agency including trades. Now we are ready to force the door open in the North and keep on to the next closed door. Its Go time.
Another good video Swift. I don't blame Poles for Nate Davis, Claypool and Velus for sure but I don't think anyone had a problem with the Nate Davis signing when it happened, at least I didn't. Claypool (for a 2nd round pick) was the biggest head scratcher for me. Velus was a 3rd round bust, it happens. Otherwise I love most of what he has done. Also, I would have preferred more draft capital from Carolina instead of DJ Moore, I like DJ but this team didn't really need him at the time and he cost $. Jmo.
HIT THAT LIKE BUTTON FOR SWIFT!!!

"I give it a tin, a tin" !!!
10 for me. Super Bowl champs in 2028
Thank you for spelling it out for people, although many still won't get it. I've been a Poles supporter and he's done a solid job considering the shit show he took over in 2022. Tearing it down and rebuilding the cap took a year in itself, as you pointed out.
There is NO perfect GM, but Poles has put a competitive team on the field that can be sustained. Excited for this year!
Bear Down!!
I agree with u Swift 💯, this is the beginning of a new era now and people not realizing that everything doesn't happen overnight. This is now the beginning to what he said we are gonna take the North and never giving it back 🐻 down my Guy
I recall media and internet trolls saying Ben didn't want to come here because of Poles, and saying Poles didn't want Ben here because he wanted too much draft control. Well, where are those people now? They are working together just fine and both are extended to 2029🐻⬇️
I have been a fan since 1970.
I’ve seen the best and the worst.
The exhilaration and the frustration.
There is a more coherent vibe from McCaskey down.
Excitement and anticipation occurs every year at this point.
We all want this team to succeed.
We will know what this team consists of by the bye week.
9/10 because it’ll take time to mesh
So, what would it be like out here without SWIFTNESS inside setting these things straight?!! Homie be Doin “Homework” Been here since WP was all there was to see.. And now we really have a Staff, Head office and the personnel to Properly represent CHI! Get on or get out the Fking way!!!
On 9’s and Rising 🌚
Loving the new intro graphics!
Poles did the best he could with what he was left with I think he’s done a hell of a job with this roster a few mistakes here and there but overall great job. I still think Matt came with the job this wasn’t a poles pick I don’t think but whatever. Some people still think that this is a Madden video game 😂FGB Go Bears
BEAR DOWN!
If you’re referring to NFC North basement, I agree.
