[Washburn] According to NBA sources, Tatum has been active in recruiting Lillard to Boston…the consensus from talking to league executives here in Las Vegas is the Celtics do have a chance in the Lillard sweepstakes.

  1. The sweepstakes for a rehab partner.

I have no problem with it, but it’s not like this is significant for the Celtics. His injury + his age I don’t think we’re gonna want him even after he’s recovered.

  2. Both parties should either get it done or stop talking about it. It’s getting annoying at this point

  3. Yep, an old, hurt guard who plays almost 0 defense is EXACTLY how you win championships. This is proven by the amount of championships trophies he brings with him…

    …Oh nevermind

  4. Dame is probably washed after this injury but imagine the storyline of Dame and Tatum rehabbing together than raising the Larry O’Brien together

  5. Honestly whatever, get Tatum a study buddy. The odds it works are like 1%, but if Dame can be a 6 man of the year type of player in 2026 thats awesome on a vet min.

  6. Is this the next era version of Celtics Shaq? Is Beal Jermaine O’Neal? Who else can we get?

  7. Just as a reminder: You can’t want the Celtics to give the young guys a shot and develop young cheap players for the Celtics to compete with in the future and at the same time want Dame or Beal on the team, even at a minimum contract. The 2 goals do not align.

  8. I’d call it more like as in we have a decent chance to win at a $1 scratch ticket

  9. i dont this a repeat of kyrie and gordan coming back from injuries and fucking up team chemistry

  10. All sounds good, but where are the minutes coming from? Pritchard, White? How many minutes does Dame want to play?

  11. This sub is excited about Hugo Gonzalez but doesn’t want a cheap flier on Dame

    Truly incredible

  12. Idk why the sub is so negative on dame lol, dame on a cheap contract is great value

  13. I’d take him as a 6th man. No way I’d jet him start.

Wonder the terms and money wherever he signs

  14. Been saying the whole time that we get him cheap, he rehabs with Tatum, we develop our rotation this year, sneak into the playoffs, and have some fun.

    There’s zero downside

  15. Dame on a vet min is absolutely a steal injury or not

Bucks paying him to play on our team would be hilarious

  16. I’m no particular Lillard fan, but a washed Lillard is still going to be a vastly better, and more fun to watch player than any of the young guys/bench pieces we’ve got.

Also, if he’s good friends with Tatum, maybe he’ll buy into a role, and be a decent contributor.

I’m willing to take it, but I hope this doesn’t signify that Chisholm is the type to prioritize *contracts* rather than *players*.

  17. Tatum working hard in the off season.

Glad he is working on this. I’m not high on Dame’s chances of being close to who he once was, but if he wanted to sign a small contract in Boston as the Bucks pay the bulk of his salary, then this would be a great pick up with little risk.
