Garrett Crochet On Pitching His First Complete Game, Sox Defensive Success

All right, thank you very much, Jo. Well, Garrett, you’ve been in this situation before. I think back to that Friday night against the Yankees where you’re close to a complete game. What was the difference here today? What was the mentality entering the night? Yeah, very similar situation. Of course, you know, up by one run. Um, just really wanted to finish it out. Um, you know, Bullpen’s been working really hard. I think I got more of that than you did. Uh just a lot of determination. You know, defense played a great game. Narvy was pushing great buttons all game. Um you know, couldn’t ask uh to do it for a better group of guys. Yeah. As you go down to get ready to come back in the ninth, what are the conversations like with you and Carlos as you get ready to face the top of the the Rays order? Uh no conversation honestly at all. Um you know, felt good with the plan that we were doing the whole game and kind of just stuck to it. Um so that was about it. Now you don’t get here without the eight guys playing in the field as well. Yeah. some great defensive plays in a one- nothing game. No margin for error really. When you think about the play that Toro made and then the play that Trevor made, what can you say about the defense behind you? Yeah. Yeah, they worked their tail off, that’s for sure. Um, you know, did a good job scratching one early and they’re they’re a huge reason that we were able to hold on to that lead. Um, you know, great defense all around today. Second Finway win for you to this point in your career. This wraps up your first half. How do you describe how this has gone for you to this point? Yeah. Yeah, going about as well as I could have hoped. Um, Norby and Connor have been huge. Um, Bis and Holy have been huge. Really, uh, just trusting my teammates and, uh, letting the results dictate themselves. Congrats on a fantastic performance, Garrett, and congrats on the series win. One more to go. Next ram miss.

  1. What kind of ridiculous New Wave uniform is that? Is the team not named the "Red Sox"? I find it difficult to believe that either Ted Williams or Carl Yastrzemski would be caught dead in that thing.

That color scheme is no less ridiculous than the name change adopted by the Cleveland Indians.

  2. Garrett Crochet has kept this team together this season, when they have sometimes played awful baseball. Mr Consistency. Best pitcher the Red Sox have had since Chris Sale. Lets hope the rest of the RS bullpen back him up.
