  1. As a Vols fan we got a competitor with an electric fastball. He needs some work though.

  2. NGL, I would’ve rather had Hernandez or Arnold. Thought we were a lock for Hernandez after Angel’s pick

  3. Very nice. With the little I’ve read, Doyle is the guy and was my hope of the college pitchers

  4. I’ve watched him a lot this year. I think he’s going to be an elite reliever but needs to develop more secondary stuff to be a front line starter. Hope I’m wrong

  5. Was kinda hoping for Arnold….but this might be good. Hoping for the best 👌

  6. Consensus top 3 prospect for most experts. I know analysts can be wrong, but come on guys, already saying he’s going to end up a bust or a reliever is laughable when the entire analyst community who does this for a living is saying otherwise. This is a fantastic pickup for the Cards.

  7. Snagging lefties so we don’t have to face them and get shut out. Well played, Cardinals office.

  8. Seems like a great pick. We desperately need a high end starter, which he seems capable of. He struck out 43% of batters faced- that is insane. Keith law thinks he can start out in AA

  9. Doyle calls his fastball an invisiball

“It is a fastball that spins a lot,” Doyle said. “It has induced vertical break. It is going to get on hitters faster than looks. It is very deceiving — I think that is a good word for what an invisiball is.”
