Nationals vs. Brewers Highlights (7/13/25) | MLB Highlights
Big crowd filing in Sunday afternoon at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Roof is open. It is a picture perfect Sunday here for the Nats and the Brewers. Final game of the series, final game of the first half as the Brewers send their allstar and their ace to the mound here. Vinnie Ratino with 10 wins on the year. Freddy Peralta. And Freddy Peralta gets to work against Alex Call, the River Falls, Wisconsin native. Did he go? He did. And it’s a strikeout to start the day for Freddy Peralta. Josh Bell in the number three spot doing a dhing. And down he goes. Bell watches it go by. Couple of Ks for Freddy Peralta in the opening inning. Here’s Jake Irvin. Fifth career start against the Brewers. On away here is William Contrarus who is the designated hitter today. Contrarus drives one in the gap. That’s going to get down a base hit. Doing what the designated hitter supposed to do. Contrarus with a single with one away. Milwaukee Brewers run better than anybody in the league in terms of total steals. 109. Man aboard for Christian Yell riding a 23game on base streak. Runner going. Pitch is strike three. And the throw. It’s a strike him out. Throw him out. Double play. Riley Adams second of this series. His ninth of the year. So one down. And that’ll bring up Luis Garcia Jr. First pitch swinging. Garcia literally booted by Terang. Louis going to make the turn and keep on moving. Why not? Good job, Lou. He’s in there. If he stays on, probably going to be ruled an error. And if it is, it’ll be Milwaukey’s first. Yeah. During their last seven games, it should be an error cuz that guy’s a platinum glove winner last year. Bryce Terra just off the backhand. Great hustle by Louie. Create that by him using his eyes giving up. There’s Dalon Lyle. Home run Friday night. That ball’s hit well deep into right. Freelick is there to make the catch. A leaping snare by South Freelick. The gold glover takes one away from Dalen Lyle. Probably wouldn’t have gone out. Certainly would have gone for extras and delivered a run, but not with South Felick in right field. And Bowowers draws two out walk. And here comes Monasterio. Bouncer to third. Tough hop. eats up House. House recovers the throw. Not in time. That had some top spin on it. House did all he could to keep it in front. That’ll be an E5 on House. Data has not made an error on this road trip until House a moment ago. First and second for Eric Hos. Little tapper. Going to be a tough play. Irvin mishandles it. Hos is aboard. The benefits of putting the ball in play. and Eric Hos reaches to load the bases with two outs. But really, the Nationals have had two chances to get the third out. They’ve not cashed in on either one. So now the number nine hitter, the ambidextrous Anthony Seagler and he sends one into right field. A base hit. How about that? Bowers is in. Monasterio scores behind him. And Anthony Sigler has given the Brewers a two to nothing lead. Now, save that ball right there as Anthony Seagler gets his first two big league RBI. Yeah, that is some story. And to do that off the bench, gets a chance to start and delivers right away. And back to the top of the order for Sal Felic. Freelick in the hole. Freelick top spinner base hit. Another runners in. Singler on his way to third. And it’s three to nothing Brewers as South Freelick gets into the act. They don’t hit it out of the ballpark a whole lot, but they can wear you out putting the ball in play. The Nationals unable to put out the fire here. It’s the Brewers three and the Nationals nothing. And it’ll get down to number nine hitter Jacob Young now. Fly ball shallow right. Gold Glover Freelick coming on and Felic makes the catch. How about that play? Sliding on the warning track. Looking like Yannik’s center at Roland Garos over there. Look at the skid mark. Yeah, he looks a little shaken up though. Murf, it’s a concerned look here. South Freelick, one of the toughest guys around, but something’s bugging him here, but uh he’s going to have to be taken out of this game. Isaac Collins looks like he’ll take over. Just 48 pitches so far for Freddy Peralta through three and two/3. And here’s Paul Young. One, two pitch and he got him. Freddy Peralta gave him the hook. Andrew Monisterio leads off the bottom of the fourth inning. Swinging a miss. Irvin strikes him out on a high fast ball. And now it’s Eric Hos. Nice. There you go. Another 10 pitch. Battle won by Jake Irvin. Two consecutive KS and five today. Eight straight batters retired by Freddy Peralta to this point since the second inning. Only one base runner and it was Garcia. Reached down an air. Hit hard to left center. Cheerio back. Cheerio is there to make the play. Been a couple of long loud outs in this game. Garcia’s retired first out of the fifth. And now Brady House and Peralta strikes him out. Wiped him out on a curveball. Strike out number five for Freddy Peralta. Two up and two down for Dalon Lyle. Hit off the end of the bat to third. Seagler picks it off and throws to first. It’s a one, two, three inning for Freddy. Five no hit innings, five strikeouts. Adams went down swinging his first time up. Freddy Peralta ready, sets, fires. There’s a swing and a miss up the ladder with a fast ball and Adams chased and it is strikeout number six for Peralta and 12 straight retired brings up Jacob Young. Ground ball left side and a base hit. First hit of the game for the Washington Nationals and it comes in the sixth inning. CNI single through the left side and nice ovation from the crowd as they realize that that’s the first hit for Washington. I’ll take it from there. Top of the order, Alex call and a called strike three. Ring the bell on the inside corner. Oh yeah, she loves it. She’s focused. You can tell she’s a baseball fan. Low draws the walk. So far he’s handled Josh Bell on the ground right side. Bowowers has it. He’ll take it to the bag and Freddy Peralta is through six scoreless innings. Freddy Peralta back out for the seventh inning facing Paul D. Young. Had him out in front. The Young pops it up. Peralta is calling and Seagler says, “Get out of here, man. Pitchers aren’t athletes.” Yeah, good job by Anthony Seagler to get Freddy Peralta off that popup right there. Here’s Luis Garcia Jr. That ball’s well hit left field line moving away. And missing it is Yelich. And that’s a fair ball. And it bounces out of play. And maybe the sun came into play a bit over the top of that roof. It looked like he got there and should have put that ball away. So, Peralta with a runner at second now. Chopper right side. Dang had to wait for it. Knew he had time. And now Garcia to third, but two outs. Here’s Dalen Lyall. 3-2 pitch. Soft liner to right field. Collins can’t get there. A base hit. And a runner is going to score. RBI single for Dalon Lyle. Just caught it off the end of the bat. And that’s going to be it for Peralta. But a brilliant first half and an allstar campaign. Second time all-star Freddy Peralta. He’s going to get a big hand on his way out. Grant Anderson takes over on the mound for the Brewers. His 42nd appearance of the year. So now Lyall finds himself in scoring position. Ground ball. Terra is there. Nice hands. That ball was scalded off the bat of Adams. Bryce Tang makes the play. Freddy Peralta’s line is official. Six and 2/3 with one run. Jackson Rutled first appearance of this series. Contras today 143. Bouncing ball through for Contras. Put him in the DH roll and he delivers with two hits. He used some insurance right here. Ba. Here’s Yelich. Now the pitch swinging a chopping ground ball past the mound. And this is going to be a Well, wait a minute. Shovel by Brady House to the Young of the Bag at second. Just not in time. So Jackson Cheerio’s the batter. Two on with nobody out. Sends that one deep right center and Cheerio watches it fly way out of here. Opposite field tank from Jackson Cheerio. Three-run home run. Six to one Brewers. Still nobody out. And Terra goes out to right center. This one’s got a shot. It is gone. Back to back for the Brewers. First Cheerio now terang. Six of the year for Bryce and it’s 71 Milwaukee. The Brewers go back to back. Brewers get five in the bottom of the eighth inning. They swell their lead to 8 to one. And it’s Eastston McGee who gets the call on the mounds to try to take them to the All-Star break. One out to go and he got him. Ball game over. The Brewers have won seven consecutive games. It’s a 6 and0 home stand. Great home stand. Great win. 8 to1 the final.

Let's go Brewer's
ROARING into the all star break is a darn good feeling
Wow, I am seeing something from the Brewers that has been fleeting in the past, a measure of consistency. For a long time when the Crew pulled off a feat like sweeping the almighty Dodgers they would have come out flat against a lesser next opponent. In the Nationals series they showed the same level of great play. I am hoping that consistency will keep going and the team won't have a big energy drop off.
ok one game bhind still good evne tho i guess to b even or in the lead but playign hot i would not trade freddie tho keep n jsut trade prospects
So how did they score run #8? Turang HR made it 7-1. Next highlight is the winning K. What gives?
