  1. Murphy really ruined this series for us, should taken at least 2, but good to go into the ASB with a win. Overall this team has been more fun to watch than last years

Even though Sonny’s start was ruined, it’s a tradition at this point.

  3. If you asked me before the season if I’d lock in 5 games over at the break, I’m saying yes every time. Hopefully they keep it up (while also trading expiring contracts).

  4. Cards record when I am in attendance: 1-1.

Wow. I probably had multiple heart attacks in the 9th. The Ryan Hesley experience baby!

Edit: autocorrect thought it knew names better than it does.

  5. Kind of remarkable how many nimrods in instagram comments need to have it explained to them that when you have a long rain delay for a game that started in the afternoon, people will eventually leave the ballpark

  6. We needed this. We as fans, needed a good night with positive things to talk and think about. Going into the all star break with a win, and acquiring a damn solid left handed prospect. The future of our team is bright.

  7. Thank god. I foolishly was hoping we could sweep the Braves. Wound up being humbled and so happy we salvaged a damn win.

  8. Taking a train to KC wearing my red Willson shirt. Lady getting drinks behind me joked that she wanted to burn it. I said oh are you a Cubs fan?

    “No, Royals!”

“Oh, I don’t think about you at all.”

  9. I’m not complaining, but it sure seemed like the Braves were trying to lose with using Chavez for so long. Do they really not have anyone better? He looks older than me

  10. So glad the Cardinals hung on to this one. Good on Oli for getting tossed. The first two batters should have been called out on strikes. Good on Helsley for staying calm and going through the heart of the order with two on and no out. The pre All-Star game part of the season was fun but stressful and maddening at times. I know the players need a break because I do too!!

  11. It’s absolutely ridiculous Pozo has to sit the bench with an 835 OPS

  12. So wild seeing us picking two pitchers with MASSIVE fastballs. This has to be Chaim influence here

  13. Absolutely love these picks. FINALLY drafting for pure upside rather than safe “high ceiling” choices. Two flamethrowers from the same elite collegiate rotation on day one, I will sure as hell take that. The Chaim Bloom era has begun

  14. Love the draft pick. Don’t know a ton about him, but having a 75 grade fastball, plus being completely Max Scherzer mentally insane, makes him entertaining. Not a boring ground ball pitcher with no personality, like the Cardinals usually go for

Also slightly interesting that our first 3 picks are all from Tennessee. We gotta conquer the Tennessee fandom from the braves

  15. Everyone is talking about draftee Liam Doyle’s energy out there. But forgetting there is already Willson Contreras energy out there. I am pretty sure when you combine forces like that, it is multiplicative, not just additive.

Over/Under until those two blow the Arch off its foundation: I’ll set it a hot sweaty August 10th 2028 afternoon getaway day game with the Reds in town…

  16. So we basically just drafted half of University of Tennessee’s rotation

  17. I’m so glad we got Doyle. Much preferred him over Arnold because of the fastball we need a pitcher like that. Plus a lot of people think he won’t be in the minors long
