MLB Highlights | Blue Jays vs. Athletics – July 13, 2025
Lament lifts the ball to right field. Lawrence Butler makes the grab and there’s one out. Butler takes off on the first pitch and the throw to second from Kirk. Not in time. Or at least he dove around it. Butler’s safe. Called strike three on a fast ball on the outer third. First strike out of the day for Springs. He hits the ball high in the air to left field. Schneider going back at the warning track at the wall. It’s gone. Sixth home run of the year for Austin Wins. The A’s take a second inning lead. Wins gets a cutter up in the zone. He does have bullside power. Rio’s probably trying to get him off the barrel, but the targets on the outer half. And this is a backup cutter. 45 pitches. Fast ball frozen. Strike three. Looking to end the bottom of the second. The A’s are on the board though after an infield hit from her. Wins opens the scoring with a two-run homer. Jose Bereios to Nick Curtson. It’s line to right field of a hit in chasing it down to the warning track. Lucas Curts is going to try for second. Lucas’s throw not in time. It’s a stand up double on the first pitch of the third. Something short. Something in the dirt short. Change up or sler. That pitch is hit well left center field. Straw going back again. Pulling up. It’s gone. Two-run shot for Soderstrom. His 18th of the year. And the A’s are mounting a pretty big lead. 4 nothing in the third inning. Decided to double up on the fast ball of the athletics runs have come via the home run. Look at Kirk’s target. It’s the 3-2 swing and a miss. Strike three. What seems like doesn’t have his best stuff. Denzel Clark breaks his bat as he flips one to shallow right center and a sliding catch by Lucas. Throw back to first. Picked by Wagner for a double play. 01 pitch to Davis Schneider and he hits it high in the air. Left center field and deep back to the wall. This one’s fair for sure. Big response from David Schneider and the Blue Jays are on the board. [Applause] Wow. Sometimes they say real life is better than the movies. It’s like you can’t make that up. Watch this swing. Just perfectly on plane. Almost a carbon cut. On the outside corner, strike three. But the Blue Jays get on the board with Davis Schneider’s solo homer. Middle of the fifth, 4-1 A’s. Time now for an update. Here’s Brad F. His runner on second after an error by Tommy Nance. And Nick Curts lifts the first pitch out to left. Driving back. Schneider to the warning track. looking up at the wall. It’s gone. [Applause] Curts ambushing a sweeper over the middle for the third A’s two-run homer today. [Applause] Right before he swings, it’s a right there. That’s him trying not to roll over on a first pitch sweep. Runner takes off and Kirk will hold that one. A really good jump. Rooker went on first move. Barger drives it right center field and deep. Headed to the hill. It’s gone. [Applause] Two-run shot for the Blue Jay third baseman. And it’s a ball game again at six to three. [Music] [Applause] 448 ft and a two-run shot off the lefty springs. Talked about him maybe moving his sights from the right field line to the big part of the plate. It’s a cutter that’s kind of out over, but he waits on it. Third, check swing and he went around to his home plate umpire Trip Gibson. That’ll end the inning. Seen a lot of Blue Jays fans in blue around the park. Brendan Little’s first pitch hit on the ground by Jacob Wilson. Tough play for Barger and it’s thrown away. Will Wagner got a piece of it but Wilson will get to second. The one two that will tip strike three. One, two, three frame for Nukem. Springer hurling away the bat as the Blue Jays still trail six to three. Middle of the eighth. Guerrero on the ground to third. Over to second for one. Back to first and the A’s win the game. A ground ball double play ends it. The Athletics take the series two games to one. Blue Jays five series win streak snapped right before the All-Star break. [Music]
The Toronto Blue Jays dropped their rubber match with the Oakland Athletics by a score of 6-3. Toronto deployed 7 different pitchers in the loss, including Chris Bassitt, who provided an inning out of the bullpen.

Nick Kurtz is an absolute unit
Oh this video just reminded me of something I used to do back in middle school.
So I had this big empty protein powder container I kept under my bed that I used as a pee jug at night. It made sense — I didn’t want to get up and walk all the way to the bathroom every time I had to go. The container had a nice wide mouth and a screw-on lid, so it was pretty much perfect. I’d just roll over, do my thing, cap it, and go back to sleep. Way easier than turning on lights and waking myself up.
I’d usually let it fill up for a few days before dumping it out. But one morning I was in a rush getting ready for school, and I bumped the container with my foot. The lid wasn’t on right, and it tipped over and spilled — like fully emptied — all over the carpet under my bed.
I saw it happen. Just kinda paused and stared at it. Thought about cleaning it up for a second, but then I didn’t. I figured it would soak in and dry on its own. I pushed some shoes over the spot and left it.
There was definitely a smell for a while, but I cracked a window and sprayed some Axe around and it stopped bothering me. Eventually I stopped noticing. That part of the carpet was kind of crunchy if you stepped on it with socks, but I usually didn’t.
We moved like a year later. Never cleaned it. Never told anyone. Just packed up my stuff and left the crusty pee zone behind like it was a time capsule.
Anyway yeah. Funny how a random video can bring back memories like that.
Way to go blue jays you are going to lose first place if you keep this up
