18 year old pitcher out of California who is committed to Arizona. Last two picks make more sense now because you will need to overspend to pull him away from AZ (hence why he is projected so low)
6”2 guy with long arms. Has some crazy movement in all of his pitches but lacks serious control while also dealing with some timing issues due to his length (common issues with kids out of HS who don’t attend prep academies) These issues most definitely can be fixed as he matures and kind of grows into his frame. Kid with a ton of upside, probably has some of the best “movement/stuff” out of all the HS pitchers, but you may not see for a while.
Played against Millar in my HS league 3 times. He posted a 0.11 ERA all season against pretty legit competition in CA (lots of d1 commits).
He has an excellent change up with screwball-like movement (he k’d me on a 3-2 count with it and it just completely disappeared) and sits at 95 MPH with armside run. He honestly doesn’t really have terrible issues with control either as he only walked 2 guys over all 3 games we faced him. He’s also just a super nice dude so I’m rooting for him as he progresses through the minors!
