MLB LIVE🔴 Washington Nationals vs Milwaukee Brewers – Jul 13, 2025 | Full Game MLB 2025 EN VIVO

so almost ready to get underway. Our starter in this one, Quinn Pster and Singi, we were talking earlier about how he’s doing a great job navigating through tough spots. I’ve just been so impressed with when it seems like there’s more pressure, he’s more calm and settles in. He’s done an incredible job with runners in scoring position. Most guys, they get a little tight, they start to aim the baseball, but for some reason he gets looser, the ball comes out of his hand with more life, and he’s able to wiggle off the hook of their tough situations and get his team back in the dugout. A one down up the middle. Terra slings to first and the first out of the game is an easy one as we take a look at the Nationals lineup. This group was shut out their last game, so we’re going to see if they can bounce back with a better effort here today. And Boo, it can get in your head a little bit when you get shut out. You’re frustrated. You’re seeing that consecutive streak of innings you haven’t scored and you want to get off to a great start. Score early because if you don’t, you feel like it could linger into two consecutive games which no one wants to be a part of. James Wood stands in now and watches strike one. One out, base is empty. Outside low. One and one. One and one. just missed. Definitely a swing and miss slider down and in. He finished that really well. Just couldn’t get him to offer at it. Lined into left center field and that’s going to fall for a hit. So, a man aboard now with one away. Just so sound in his mechanics. hits against a firm front side and the hands just continue to carry through the middle of the field. Josh Bell at the plate now. Checks over to first and he’s back. Pitch misses. Ball one. Man at first, one away. Little chopper rolls foul. Next offering is in for a strike. One, two. [Applause] fouls that off to the left and will do it again. Gets a piece and stays alive. Next one misses. Two and two. Wood stands at first with one out. Full count. So, here we go. Base runner at first. Could be running on the pitch. He’s got good enough speed to steal the bag to get in scoring position. Even if it’s a swing and miss at the plate. Sharp grounder. That’s through for a base hit. Around second is Wood. Throw into third and he’s out. Hey, as a former center fielder, I’m feeling pretty good right now. That’s an excellent job by this guy to come up throwing and deliver a strike to third base. Now, for the offense, that’s a tough one to swallow because you never want to lose a runner in scoring position by making an out at third base. Here’s Nathaniel Low. There’s the strike. Here we go. Brewers. Here we go. In there. Got him looking. And that one split the plate. So, one left for Washington. Now, it’s the Brewers turn. It’s a scoreless ball game. You’re watching Major League Baseball exclusively on the show back here at American Family Field. And on the mound for Washington in this one, Mitchell Parker. And Singi, it’s unique these days, but he’s more of a pitch to contact type of guy. Yeah, Boogie. He doesn’t rely too heavily on the strikeout. He knows he needs to miss barrels, get some soft contact, let the defense do work behind him. And I think a guy like that can keep a good tempo, don’t give hitters time to adjust or think, they can move through a ball game and you look off, they’re in line for a quality start. We’ll see what he’s got in this one. S Freely, the lead off batter, as he looks at ball one, one ball, no strikes. Right through there for a strike. One gone, bottom half of the first. Let’s take a look at the Brewers lineup. Batting second, a really important guy for them. William Contreras and Boo. He’s a fun at bat to watch. I mean, definitely a threat whenever he’s got that bat in his hands, but for me, it’s it’s all about the mechanics. They’re so sound when he gets his foot down on time and starts his swing. So much consistency. That bat stays in the zone for a long time and he squares up the baseball a lot. William Contreres in the box with one away as he takes ball one. Parker, he’s become known as a guy that’s really tough to take deep and that is especially valuable today, Chris, when the ball’s going out of the ballpark so much. Yeah. And that finds the mark on the outside corner and it’s one and one. That’s inside. It’s very important. It’s all about run prevention, right? So, uh, when you have that, it’s a plus. But if you are going to give up the long ball, you want the bases to be empty. And that’s where control and command really comes into play for a guy like this. He goes down looking. Oh, just couldn’t pull the trigger on the fast ball right there. And I don’t think he was taking it, thinking it might be a cold ball or anything. I just think he was flat out frozen. Did not expect that location in my opinion. Jackson stands in here. Leaves that one off the inside. Fast ball for a strike and a count. One and one on the ground out to short dives and he can’t hang on. No throw and they can’t get the out. the MVP in 2018, the runner up in 2019. Fast for a strike. Grounds one to short. Abrams tosses to first. Third out and that ends the frame. Brewers strand one scoreless after one. Second inning set to go. Here’s the center fielder, Alex Call. Prey back to work. Ball one there. One and0. And that’s in the dirt. That one missed. Now three and 0. And that drops in for a strike. in there at the knees and it’s three and two. Swing and a pop off in foul ground. Catcher tosses the mask, settles under it, drops into the glove and there’s one down. Got the pitch that he wanted just a little bit quick. front shoulder open, backside collapsed a little bit, and the launch angle not where he needed it to be. And now it’s Luis Garcia and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter. Looks like he sacrificed to pitch right down the middle for tracking and timing. Some good hitters will do that. They say you went 0 and two and they’ll do it again. One down, base is empty. Goes down looking. Well, that curve ball had some pretty good break to it. As you can see, the hitter just locked up a little bit. Thought it was a great pitch to hit, but sometimes you’re looking for something else and you can’t pull the trigger. Next to hit, Brady House. Had a breaking ball. Misses outside. That one missed. Back to back breaking pitches away. You get the feeling as a hitter that the pitcher is afraid of you, that he doesn’t want to challenge you. So, I think the confidence level is raised right here. Inside corner for a strike and a cow two and one. Nasty two- slider there for a strike. That tells you he’s got a lot of confidence in that pitch. Just off the outside edge. Three balls in a Ground ball left side, whips it to first. Nets go down one, two, three. Nothing doing for Washington. We’ll go to the bottom of the second. No score. Back here in Milwaukee. Andrew Vaughn now the number three overall pick out a Cal for the White Socks in 2019. Curve ball drops him for a strike. Now the key to his success is getting ahead early in the count. He cannot afford to go deep in the counts. Doesn’t have a ton of swinging missed stuff, so he’s going to have to work efficiently. Time to check on our umpires. Earl Hendris calling balls and strikes. Yeah, well-liked umpire Boo. Pretty consistent with his zone. So, if you’re familiar with him and how he works, you won’t get too surprised by anything. Sometimes they’ll give a little bit off the corner, but nothing too crazy at all. On the ground, right side, Garcia, leadoff man, retired here in the second. Felt a wellthrown slider like that one can be tough to get in the air. Good downward break on that one. Isaac Collins up now for the Brewers. Swinging a foul back. That’s out of play. [Music] And now it’s even up. One ball, one strike. Fouled off. He was late. No score here in the second. And that one is lifted in the air. Wood on his way over. No trouble here. Puts it away for the out. And there’s two away. The second baseman, Bryce. This is Bryce Terang. He’s going to finish with a new career high in stolen bases. Chris, and that one upstairs. Ball one. Two out. Base is empty. Check swing and he went. And now it’s even. One and one. One and one. [Music] That one pushed to the left and fouled. Swing and a miss. Struck him out. And a nice inning of work there as he sets him down. One, two, three. Brewers go down quietly. We’ll move to the third with no score. And welcome back to the ballpark. New inning getting started. Leading off Dalen Lyall. Lyle in his rookie season in the eighth spot in today’s lineup and he was a second round pick in 2021. And another ball. That one finds the zone. Now two and one. That’s down and in. A slider missed. And that drops in for a strike. Full count. Fouled off again and it remains three and two. That one misses. So a leadoff walk. Pretty good pitch on 3-2 right around the knees, but just no help from the umpire. And now the catcher comes up to hit Riley Adams. And a breaking ball drops in for a strike. Next pitch is downstairs. Breaking ball misses down and away. Two and two. Foul ball. Another two- two upcoming. Lyle gets his lead at first. Nobody out. And now it’s filled up. still just the second batter of the inning and on the mound he’s already thrown 13 pitches. They got him working hard out there. Three and two payoff pitch. Got him looking. That’s a strike out. So the next lineup turns over up now for Washington. CJ Abrams 0 for one. He grounded out in his first at bat. Fouled off left side. Here comes the pitch. Runner breaks for a second. Ball outside. Go to second. That goes to show you stealing a base is a tough thing to do and far from a sure thing. Even with big time speed, it’s not easy to catch him. But that was a great catch and throw. Quick, not rushed, and accurate. That pitch clips the outside corner and the count one and two. The short stop takes a ball. Count is full. Jameswood up next for Washington. And it’s ball four. He missed down low. That’s a nice atbat and a great take on 3-2. Probably could have gone either way in that spot around the knees. So, a man aboard next to hit for the Nats. James Wood one for one with a single so far. And a foul ball. Check on the runner. Abrams back in on a dive. Two gone, but the go-ahead run is at first. We’re here in the top half of inning number three. misses off the inside. Ball one. Two walks in the inning already and he just doesn’t seem comfortable out there. Like he can find the right mechanics and then repeat them. Next pitch is outside. Swing and a tapper that rolls foul. And it remains two and two. Two outs. Outside low and now it’s three and two. Great RBI spot here. Just got to stay focused on the pitch. The runner will be in motion. So something in the gap should definitely score him. swing and a ball lifted left field makes the catch and that is that. Nationals leave one. Still no score. And we’re back. And stepping in is the speedy number 21. That one hooked. Foul swing and a miss. And that’s strike two. Throw that fast right by him. Slightly elevated. That’s a confidence boost for this guy out there on the mound. See if he continues to climb the ladder. The one two. That’s foul off to the right side. Keeps the AB going. Swing and a ball lifted in the air. Wood makes the grab. One away. Just pulled off of it a little bit right there. That front shoulder coming open instead of staying closed. If he does that, he’s going to be able to go up the middle the other way with some authority instead of a fly out to left. Joseph Ortiz in the box now. No balls in a strike. Next offering upstairs. One and one. Next offering miss is down and away. Still tied at zero. Last of the third swing and a highf fly ball right field. Lyle makes the grab and there’s two gone. Number 10. Back to the top of the Milwaukee order. And now here is S. Freelick dred out his first time. Chris, baseball today, so many strikeouts and they are available to pitchers. But this is a guy that puts the bat on the ball and is kind of different from the players that we see day in day out. Over to Low. Inning over. Gone in order are the Brewers. And we’re still knotted at zero. Start of the fourth. Here’s Josh Bell. Yeah, his swing is so good. It’s in the zone a long time. He gets the barrel to it a lot and that produces more base hits. And that one fouled off. When you look at the elite teams in the game right now, there is going to be the slug. No question about it. But the really good offensive teams combined slug with more contact with less swing and miss. Rip to third. Throws to first in time and one gone in the fourth as they get the lead off. Manuel Nathaniel Low up to hit. He’s 0 for one. Yeah. And the domino effect of that is running up pitch counts on pitchers and then either getting them to a place of fatigue or getting into the pit perhaps before you get to those higher leverage arms at the back end. Deal one. One of the things that Jim Leland used to say when I was broadcasting with the Marlins, the longer a play appearance goes for a batter, the more likely it is that something good will happen for the hitter. And the righty deals. Yeah. And I figured you would get Kat into this because you had a free dinner at his house the other night. That is true. One down, base is empty on the ground right side. Terra to first. Two quick outs here in the top of the fourth. Alex. And now the center fielder, Alex Call. He popped out his first time. And that’s in there at the knees for a strike. Well, he’s been incredibly efficient in this one. First pitch strike percentage over 70%. That’s well above league average. And that’s what’s allowed him to pitch well up to this point. Fourth inning underway, no score. And ball one. Two two. [Music] Fly ball to right. Makes a nice grab at a full sprint. And that is that. Onto the bottom of the fourth now. Still with no score. Back here at American Family Field. Bottom four. And now it’s William Contreras. And a fast ball misses outside for a ball. one and 0. [Music] Basketball for a strike. [Music] Can’t glove it cleanly. Gets off a throw and it’s in time. It wasn’t the smoothest play you’ll see today, but they still get the out. Now here is Jackson Chorio reached on an infield single his first time. There’s the strike. This guy is just filling up the strike zone right now. Don’t want to get yourself in an 02 hole. You better be ready to pull the trigger on the first pitch. All tied up. We’re here in the bottom of the fourth and a swing and a miss. Beat him with a fast ball. Oh, there’s a three pitch strike out. He can do whatever he wants with the baseball right now. Now batter the designated hitter Christian and now it’s Christian Yelich grounded out his first time up and that’s fouled off. just off the outside edge. swings and misses and it’s a three up, three down inning. Nobody left for Milwaukee and we are still scoreless. Back here in Milwaukee, we go to the top of the fifth and now up for Washington. Luis Garcia Pster back to work and that misses and that is ball doublebarreled action in the bullpen. Jacob Miserowski the rookie right-hander is getting loose. McGee also throwing clips the corner and the count even one and one. Back door him with the breaking ball. Just got the corner. There’s nothing you can really do with that. Swing and a foul out of play. And a foul ball. He stays alive. Good eye right there. [Music] Swing and a miss. Curve ball in the dirt. Beats him for the first out and that completes the strike out. Just a hammer 126 curveball right there, Boo. That was exactly what he wanted to do with it. Not a ton of pitchers can throw a true 126 break, but he does. And you can’t throw it any better than he did right there. House at the plate and takes high there on the ground. slinging it to first in time. I love how guys at this level are able to slow the game down, whether it’s in the batters box or on defense. And right there, that was a good job of knowing just how much time he had. We talk about that internal clock. He was able to gather himself, get a good grip, and make an accurate throw across the diamond. And now Dalen Lyall, strike one. Two down, nobody on. And we’re at the top of the fifth. There’s the strike. 0 and two. That one the other way. Sends it to first. And that is the inning. Nationals go quietly halfway through this one. Still no score. And welcome back to the ballpark. And here’s the first baseman, Andrew Vaugh. And a first pitch fast ball is in for a strike. Just missed. That’s low. That’s a ball. Hit on the ground to the right side. Tosses to the pitcher covering the bag. And that’s the first out in the bottom of the fifth. Now batting the leftiel Isaac. Isaac Collins up now for the Brewers. That one misses and that’s ball one. Good spot there, but didn’t get the strike at the knees and doesn’t seem too convinced by the call out there on the mound as he tries to get a better sense of the umpire strike zone. And that’s through there for a strike. And the count one and one. Bases empty, one away. Last half of inning number five. Right through there for a strike. One ball, two strikes. Swinging a ball. Popped in the air. Reaching for it. Makes the catch. Up now for Milwaukee, Bryce Terra. First pitch and that’s in for a strike. 0 and one. That’s to third. Slings it across and Milwaukee is set down in order. Brewers go down quietly. Sixth inning coming up. Still nothing on the scoreboard. Jacob Miserowski into the game. Well, good luck against this guy. He’s been extremely tough to hit this year. His numbers are excellent. And now Riley Adams. Riley Adam. [Music] Close one. Doesn’t get the call and it’s one and0. Meanwhile, activity in the bullpen. DL Hall, a lefty looks to be getting himself ready. Mirs getting loose as well. And another ball to the right side. Terra gets it to first. Now one gone in the top of the six. CJ. So, the batting order turns over. There’s CJ Abrams now. [Music] Miserowski goes 6 feet 7 in. He features a fourseam fast, a slider, a curve, and he works in a change up. One down. Base is empty. Late swing. Fouled to the left. The shorts stop takes a ball. All tied up. And we’re the top half of the sixth. Fought off foul inside. Almost got him. [Music] on the ground right side in plenty of time to first and that quickly two away up now for Washington. James Wood scoreless here, but now he’s got to deal with a guy who’s got some power. Gotta be careful when you’re talking about a hitter with this type of slug and these type of home run totals. And he swings and misses at the initial offering. Two down. Nobody on. Pitch misses and it’s one and one. swing and a miss as he was out front. One and two is the count. [Music] Two outs. And it’s through for a hit. Well, he found himself behind in the count right there, but he didn’t give in. Smash that one through the infield for the knock. When it’s hit that hard, it makes it very tough on the infielders to make any sort of play. And now, let’s see if they force some action with good wheels on the bases. And now the switch hitting first baseman Josh Bell. That’s off the inside corner. Ball one. Sometimes pitchers work them backwards starting with the breaking ball. But it’s a tricky approach. He almost wants to bait you out there to throw that stuff to start the at bat. Brewers. Fast in for a strike and one and one. Brewers. The one-1 is fouled off. Wood off of first with two away. Swing and a miss for the strike out. Pulled the string on the change up. So no runs here on a base hit. No errors and one left. 891 scheduled in the bottom of the sixth and we still have no score. And we’re back. John Shabi with Chris Singleton in the booth. And leading off the bottom of the sixth, number 21. Fast ball for a strike. This one in the air right field. Lyall makes his way towards it. Can’t get there. This one lands foul and he couldn’t hold back. He’s rung up on strikes. Well, they clearly didn’t recognize that curveball out of the hand and tried to check the swing. Just went around too far and you’re hoping the umpire maybe missed it and they bail you out. Joseph Ortiz up now for the Brewers. Ortiz not having as much success with the bat here at home as you see the splits. Milwaukee grounded to low. Takes it himself and a couple of quick outs. He’s controlling things out there on the mound. Not messing around at all. He’s been in attack mode since the very start. So the lineup flips over. Sure digs in now has grounded out a couple of times. Singing, you got to appreciate a guy who’s this good defensively. I mean, watching him track balls in the outfield, it is beautiful. That clips the corner. So, how much does his speed factor into his ability to go get it? It’s heartbreaking for the hitter because off the bat, he thinks this ball’s going to get down because of that speed and the ability to make up so much ground. He enters the picture and breaks a guy’s heart right through there for a strike. There’s one guy that I can think about, Boo, who started as a third baseman, Alex Gordon, and then became an elite perennial gold glover out in left field for the Kansas City Royals. But he’s a guy when you watch him play, you would imagine that that’s all he ever played in his life was the outfield outside low and the count’s even at two. Yeah, some guys just have instincts, right? I mean, that’s the way it goes. We talk about Larry Walker, the Hall of Famer, and his instinct on the bases, despite the fact that he didn’t play a ton of baseball as a kid inside. And that’s ball four. And he’s a guy that will certainly think about stealing a bag or two. Not the kind of speed you want to put on base in a tie game. And here’s the catcher, William Contreras. Go for two in this one. line drive. The throw to third and the throws off line safe at third. So, two outs with runners on the corners. Jackson Torio up now for the Brewers. Out to center. call has a beat on it and that’s the inning. Make it six shut out innings for him out there now. No score. Welcome back. We’re in the seventh. We have a new pitcher on the mound. DL Hall, left-handed batter at the plate, and he’s been excellent in those matchups this year. So, this seems like a calculated move. Nathaniel Low now at the plate. You know, this is kind of a tough matchup as a left-handed hitter facing a left-handed pitcher. What you tell yourself is I want to stay square to the plate to try to hit the ball over the shortstop’s head. That’s a strike across the top of the zone. swing and a miss and he was fooled. I think he was sitting off speed. The next pitch misses and count one and two. One and two. [Music] lifted in the air out to left. No trouble here. Puts it away for the out and there’s one down. So digging in, Alex call. That one finds the zone. That’s strike one. Base is empty, one away in the top half of inning number seven. Next pitch is outside. Just missed with that back door breaking ball. If he gets a swing and miss or called strike, 02 count instead. It’s 1-1. Look for him to go back to that pitch later in this at bat. And a foul ball. And that skips in the dirt. 22 struck him out looking with the off speed stuff. Here’s the second baseman, Luis Garcia. Delivers a pitch in for a strike at 95. 0 and one. Next offering is fouled back outside low. Going to count one and two. O2 fast way out of the zone. I think he’s trying to speed him up. Got to stay back. Off speed’s probably coming. And that’s in the dirt. tapped up the first base side and that’s just fouled. 22 now. Battling here as he fouls it away. spoils that one and it remains two and two. Swings through that and it’s a strike out. He didn’t make it easy for him on the mound, but they still get the strike out. [Music] Back here at American Family Field, set for the last half of the seventh. Now, the Brewers cleanup hitter, Christian Yellish, swinging a foul straight back. [Music] That’s inside. And that is ball one. swing and a fly ball in the air out towards right center field and there’s one down Andrew Vaughn up now for the Brewers. He’s grounded out a couple of times. That misses and that’s ball one. Strike one. One and one. That’s in ball. misses off the play and that’s ball three. Here’s an opportunity to do some damage and perhaps unlock this offense. 3-1 count. Be ready to turn on a fast ball. Next offering is in for a strike. And boy, that was the pitch. 3-1. You want to be really aggressive on the fast ball. Got him swinging. I got to think that was the plan all the way. He set him up with a high fast and then bury that curve ball down low to get him swinging. Now, especially with how effective pitchers work up in the zone these days, that’s a devastating combination. Isaac Collins up now for the Brewers. Swing and a line drive, slicing into right field and a superb diving catch. One of the most fun and exciting things you can do as an outfielder. You lay out, you make a diving catch, and you end the inning. That gets the team fired up in the dugout. So, the Brewers bring on a new pitcher from the pen, Nick Mes. He’s certainly been one of their better relief pitchers this season. and the numbers are really solid. So, they feel great about handing the ball over to him. Looks like a pinch hitter for the Nationals. Ahmed Rosario. He represents the go-ahead run. That’s in there. And that’s strike one. Trying to keep good speed off the bases. and fouled off. and a curve is down and in. Movement in Milwaukeee’s bullpen. Trevor McIll, the closer is getting loose. Way high. Two and two. That one misses. Three and two now. Dalen Lyall in the on deck circle hoping to get a chance to make a big impact here. [Music] I would throw him another breaking ball. Try to go again with a fast ball. Slightly elevated. He just having a hard time catching up. Foul. We’ll see another payoff pitch. Lifted in the air left field. Pretty well struck. Chorio sizes this one up. One away. [Applause] At the plate. Dalen Lyle. He’s someone that you might not describe as having elite level speed, but he can absolutely move and it is a factor in his game. There’s the strike. 95 of that one. Well, this guy’s definitely a plus runner, but what I love about him is that he goes all out every single time. Never takes a break. It’s guys like that, even though they don’t have the elite speed, the fact that they’re consistent with it, they make moves on the base paths. 2-1. Tapped at the plate, but it’s a foul ball. All tied up and we’re in the top of the eighth. Popped up to the left into foul ground. He’s under it. Makes the catch for the owl. Here’s the catcher, Riley Adams. And that is out of play. And that one is downstairs. And the count is one and two. [Music] Swings and misses at the breaking ball in the dirt. Gets to it on the first in time. The two-3 strikeout ends the inning. Offense held in check there. Home half of inning number eight straight ahead and we still have no score. Back now, new pitcher on the mound as we roll into the bottom of the eighth, Luis Garcia. And he’s done a great job keeping the ball in the park this year. The numbers stack up with some of the best in the game. Bryce Terang up now for the Brewers. Now, this guy, a player that if he gets on base, has the ability to really be aggressive getting around the base paths. sliced hard but fouled down the left side. Alio one [Music] swing and a miss. Struck him out. And Chris, that’s a way to neutralize his speed by keeping him off base. And the defense breathes a sigh of relief because he puts pressure on everyone if he can put the ball in play. But that’s how you do it. Keep him off balance. Get him out of there and deal with the next guy. Now the third baseman. Bunting for a hit. And he bare hands it. Throw to first in time. Got him. Man, who doesn’t love a sweet bare hand play like that? That was amazing. And the batter will be the shorts stop, Joseph Ortiz. And there’s the strike. [Music] on the ground to the left. Wide throw pulls him off the bag and the inning still alive. Maybe just a little lack of concentration on that throw. Two out. You think you’ve got the play made. Players are starting to move off the field towards the dugout and then everyone’s got to come back. Sometimes you take that throw for granted and that’s all it takes to keep the inning going. South Freelick up now for the Brewers. That’s in there. Strike one. [Music] got the bat going too soon. It’s strike two. He finds himself in a tough situation early. Just going to try to simplify it. Take a knock the other way if you can. Two outs. That one to first. He takes it himself to the bag and that’ll do it. Milwaukee leaves one. It’s the ninth and we are tied. Back now and on the mound the closer Trevor McIll. He’s got some of the best swing and miss stuff going right now. Striking out hitters at a very high rate this year. So this should be fun to watch. Back to the top of the order now. And now here’s the Nationals leadoff man, CJ Abrams. Swings and hits one in the air out towards right field. Puts it away for the next hit for the Nats. James Wood. You talk about the power and the speed together. Well, we knew he was going to be a stud just coming up, making his way through the minor leagues and quickly at this level an impact player. There’s the strike. Activity in the bullpen. Eastston McGee, the young right-hander up and throwing. going to miss that one at 101. Just amazing to me how many closers and backend relievers just throw absolute gas these days. I never would have had a chance. That’s a little bit low. And that’s awfully close. I don’t know how you take that. He’s seeing the ball out of the pitcher’s hand really raw right now. And it’s fouled off. They’ll do it again. Base is empty, one away here at the top of the ninth. You can see he was trying to stay back long enough to handle the offs and misses. It’s a strike out. See it more commonly in the sport these days, but man, a tripledigit fast blown right by someone is still pretty awesome to witness. I mean, you got to be geared up and ready to swing it when a guy like this comes out of the bullpen because that fast ball, it eats. And if you’re not ready, you’re going to be walking back to the dugout. Next for the Nationals is the DH Josh Bell on the corner for a strike. McIll 31 years old and he was drafted in the seventh round back in 2015. Got him to chase one above the zone there. This guy’s pounding the zone. Hitters don’t have time to think in between pitches. Pitch misses there and it’s one and two. Stays alive. Next offering misses. Two balls, two strikes to count. fouled off the plate. They’ll do it again. Just outside. Three and two now. It’s getting squeezed a little bit here late. Eighth pitch of the at bat coming up. Foul ball left side. He’ll see another fights it off. You’ll see another. The right-hander gives up the two out walk. That’s a great at bat. He saw a lot of pitches and earned a walk. Man, that’s a tough one to take on the full count, but I guess he saw it really well. It’s a really nice plate appearance. Low stands in with two away as he takes a ball. Ball high. And a foul ball. Makes the count. Two and one. And misses inside. Boo. He never moved cuz he never had time to. But that kind of velocity, you’d prefer that pitcher work away. line to left and it stays fair. Runner around third on his way to the plate and he’s out. Got him. That’s cut down and that ends the inning. Try to take the lead in the late going. Can’t blame him, but the defense was having none of that. Close play at the dish. The tag applied just in time and we’ll push on with a tie ball game. And welcome back to the ballpark. So bottom of the ninth, here’s the Brewers catcher now. William Contrarus. Garcia back to work. Headed towards the corner. Lyle makes the grab on the run. number 11 Jackson Chorio now for the Brewers. One for three. Fouled off down the right side. [Music] One down. Base is empty. One and one activity in the Washington bullpen. Kyle Finnean looks to be getting ready for Dave Martinez. [Music] There’s a 1-1. Bounce to third and that goes foul. struck him out looking. Here comes Christian Yelich 0 for three. A fly out, a ground out, and a strike out. Right side and that squirts through. Runner at first with two away. Next for Milwaukee, Andrew Vaughn. Pickoff throw. Yell dives back in. Yelich goes swway swing at a highf fly ball. Well struck. That’s back there. Gone. Ball game. He hammers one out to center and the Brewers walk it off. [Applause] Hitting a walk-off homer is the kind of thing you dream about growing up. You’re in the backyard. You’re creating the most pressure packed scenario. And what do you do? You come through with the big swing. Well, he was living a childhood moment right there. Nice swing at the bat. Nice win for the team. Two nothing your final here in this one. For Chris Singleton and our entire crew, I’m John Shami saying so long.
